Ashes and Embers [Blacksmith Shop, F9]

Recommended Posts

Yet again another day in the Ashes and Embers Blacksmith shop. Pyro enters far more confident than yesterday and is ready to accept any item she creates and whips out her tongs, using her forge and anvil to create something new like usual. She already has smelted ores from yesterday and doesn't need to smelt anymore for the meantime.

Pyro smiles as her hammer touches the cooled material gracefully and it lights up, signaling it was forming into a creation and that she could stop hitting it. It wasn't what she wanted but she was in a decent mood today and was positive something perfect would be created today.

Pyro tries her luck again. "Why is crafting perfect items so hard!" She yells at herself, cursing her bad luck. Though another items forms slowly, and it's another useless item. "Darn." Pyro puts the blade in the backroom and goes to her forge to try one more time. Surely it will work the third time, right?

Pyro lazily smashed her hammer against the solid and now room temperature solid metal object. Her eyes were half-lidded and she was drifting off into sleep when a bright flash woke her up. She jumped and looked around for the source that had caused the light but realized it was her crafting. She squealed with excitement. "A perfect item!~"

Arekkusu walked in with hopes of getting the new weapon, but he didn't want to bother her if she didn't have it. He just hoped his mats helped her out any, and if she needed any more, Arekkusu was ready to donate some without extra returns.

"Hey Pyro!" Arekkusu called out with the Rising Edge unequipped, his hopes really were high. "How is the blade coming along? Do you need any help with making it?"

Pyro was reading the game's manual over for probably about the hundredth time when she heard the bell ring at the front door. She closed out of the screen and put the book back into the inventory before turning around.

"Oh hey Arekkusu." She greeted her friend and waved. Pyro knew he was here to ask about the sword and was already reaching behind the counter to grab it. She placed it on the top of the counter gently. She opened a menu asking Arekkusu to complete the transaction.

Take 'Phoenix Wing' from <<Pyro>>?

"Just go ahead and confirm it and you can be on your way." She said to him as the screen flashed in front of his face. "You already paid me 5 mats so no worries just go enjoy your new sword." Pyro smiled at Arekkusu and bowed politely. "Thank you for shopping here."

Arekkusu flicked his finger onto the screen and smiled, it was the Phoenix Wing. Just what he wanted, not a single flaw to it. Even the enhancements were put on it correctly, just as expected from a perfect weapon. Arekkusu smiled as it materialized into his hands. The Phoenix-like feel, almost immortal. He most certainly loved it, and wouldn't forget this weapon.

"Awesome!" Arekkusu said as he put the blade in his inventory. He was going to have a lot of fun with his new toy now that it is in his possession. Enemies are going to be wiped out if he keeps adding onto the power he already has. "Thanks Pyro, I'll see you later now."

Crozeph walked in the shop and recognized the player as someone whom he partied with last time against a troublesome mob. He admired how the shop seemed simple. Crozeph walked towards the counter and pulled out a piece of paper, where he tore it shall remain unknown. "Can I request for a custom-made item" he said. Crozeph settled down the piece of paper on the counter and waited for a reply "I'll be paying with col or mats for that" he added.

A few days later, the eversoneedy Arekkusu walked into Pyros shop, and as usula he had another request for her. She was just about the main person for him to go to for a Blacksmith. This item he wanted was Crcuial, Arekkusu lately hasn't been hitting his targets too well. He was at the brink of dying a few times, and he has lost some duels due to his lack in focus as well. This was where he hoped a new item could fix the gap.

"Hey Pyro." Arekkusu said as he approached the counter. "I'm here to bug you again, I have another order to make. This right here is the description of the weapon on this order paper right here."

Arekkusu then placed his order on the counter, reviewed it one time before he nodded at it and flipped it over to the other side of the counter.

Pyro smiled. "Thanks Crozeph, I'll give you notice when your order is made and then you can pay then." She posted the note on her billboard that seemed to get smaller and smaller with all the fresh and old notes she'd already put on it so far.

Pyro went to smelt a few ores. She almost forgot how to as its been a few days since she has worked in her shop. However the game system made it extremely easy to do so. Pyro waited until her inventory was filled with bricks of various metals and then took it to the forge.

On the anvil it took a lot more hits than usual. Pyro thought she was going to automatically get a perfect weapon on the first try but instead only achieved a rare weapon. She smirked. "I'll just keep this for myself then."

Pyro decides to spend her last material before temporarily closing her shop for MATS gathering. She sighs knowing this probably won't be a good role but tries anyway. She takes premade ores and moves to the forge. Pyro remembers how to do everything by heart even though for the past few days she'd been slacking-off. "It's Christmas season. Who cares?" She told herself while lazily wondering floors and inns.

Pyro shrugs and shoves the mound in her backroom that seems to already be almost filled up. She turns the open sign to closed and locks it with the key in her inventory before leaving.

  • 3 weeks later...

A quiet bell rung as Pyro stepped into her smithery, she hadn't been in for more than two weeks. It still looked brand new. She didn't flip the sign to open just yet though. Pyro wanted to finish up the orders she had yet to finish and sell to her friends. Unfortunately there were no more smelted ores so she had to go smelt her own in the shop's backyard. It only took a few moments as Pyro had memorized how to do it perfectly and without messing up. She put them in her inventory and headed inside to put them in the forge. The forge took longer than usual and longer than the smelter to heat up its coal but still worked good as new. The coals turned a fiery orange-red. Pyro used tongs to place the smelted ores into the pit of fire. Then she took the mass and placed it into a bucket of water, placing the now colled mass of iron onto her anvil where the magic was done.

It wasn't quite perfect but still an item to be proud of. She decided to keep it in her inventory and put it in the guild's chest for newer players than join and don't have money to spend or just don't want to spend it in the first place.

Item Description:

Type: Heavy Armor Chest-Plate

Name: True Cross Chest-Plate

Quality: Rare

Crafted in Ashes and Embers

Enhancements: +2 Damage Migitation

Description: Made from glass and leather, crafted at a church known as True Cross, this armor was made for people committed to a cause to make a difference.

Pyro sighed when she used her anvil once again because there will still chunks of iron left and she only came out with a good item after 20 hits with her hammer. She put it in the back and decided to head out for the day to go collect more ores from mining before continuing her smithing profession. She grabbed a pick and locked the shop behind her.

  • 9 months later...

Pyro decided to finally return to her daily life after getting a grip on the insanity constantly lingering and threatening to corrupt her ways. It'd been months but finally she was back and the first thing she needed was a new weapon. Getting used to working the smith forge all over again was tough but she quickly overcame the trouble. She was determined to get something, as strong as she was, created.

She hadn't been successful but luckily got her wasted material back. Being tired, she decided to try again tomorrow or maybe go out and ask another Blacksmith to complete the work for her.

Waking up to another day motivated Pyro just enough to get her started and back on the track of making that weapon for herself. She desired either a Rare or Perfect weapon to be honest but right about now she needed a whip in order to use that new skill of her's. Hopefully today would work out. Yesterday had been a failure but not completely, she did salvage that material after all.

CD: 9 (uncommon item)

An uncommon wasn't good enough for her. Pyro decided to go out and buy a whip from another blacksmith herself as she now was all out of materials. That was the end of the day for her so she closed up the shop and left.
