Profile
» Username: Calrex
» Real name: Calnus Hevrex
» Age: 27 (Entered SAO at 24)
» Gender: Male
» Height: 5'10"

» About:

Calnus has been a gamer since he was 5 years old and has been up to this point. His life hasn't exactly been complicated or complex, in fact it can even be considered a "normal" upbringing. His parents were divorced while he was fairly young, but even so he spent an equal amount of time with both of them and continued to nurture a relationship with both. Throughout his school years he made friends and even was in a couple of relationships before now. However, his various hobbies evolved his personality and beliefs into what he is now. Some of these hobbies include video games, martial arts, live action roleplaying, and drawing among other things.

The product of this is an individual who seems to have a very rounded out personality, except for one particular point: Calnus is very calm and collected, almost unrealistically calm. Due to his exposure to so many types of violence and brutality through games, he isn't phased by things one would be shocked or horrified by. However, this does not mean that he is unfeeling. It means that he will dampen it's effects on his psyche until a later point where he can address it attentively. You probably wouldn't notice this because he is capable of putting on a happy attitude and any respective behavior to match the situation should it call for him to do so. While this seems to lend well to many situations, it did result in some distance being put between him and the people around him, as if he wouldn't let anyone into his mind or his heart.

He currently lives on his own in an apartment complex and worked for a tech company before obtaining the NervGear. Now that he is trapped within SAO he is now willing to do what he can to help everyone reach the end. Although to what extent he is willing to go is yet to be seen.

"Everyone is concerned with whether or not one is willing to jump down the "rabbit hole." The real question they should be asking is should they do so, how far down are they willing to go."

» Fighting Style / Symbolism / Gear:

Fighting Style:
Calrex uses a variety of different techniques from various martial arts and self defense systems from all around the world, or at least the ones he could actually find demonstration and instructional videos of and capable of self-practicing. Because of this his personal fighting style is a mixture of those different arts combined together. Some techniques he's shown extensive prowess come from the arts of iaido and kendo, especially when he was first starting out. This was because even though he is using a straight sword the two arts seemed more noble, refined, and sportsmanlike, almost akin to fencing or other sport martial arts. One notable marker of this is his modified iaido stance, where the main difference is that he draws from the back of his hip in a reverse sword grip.

However, this is not the full extent of his knowledge. Iaido and kendo are just barely scratching the surface. Calrex is also knowledgeable of other techniques that draw from the more "brutal" martial arts such as kali, arnis, escrima, kajukenbo, and krav maga. While not an expert in any of these styles, Calrex has at least two or three techniques that he can easily use at a moment's notice. He normally chooses not to use these techniques because back in the real world they could prove fatal. An example of this is one strike where a person attacks with a stab, which Calrex blocks with his free arm while stabbing through the arm, then immediately bouncing to a stab to the neck.

While he initially refrained from using these techniques, recent events have begun to have him rethink those restrictions, especially since those techniques are no longer considered fatal within SAO. Because of this he has begun to blend these techniques into his normal fighting style, his attacks become more fluid and brutal, like a raging storm designed to overwhelm and enemy's attacks and defenses until they are eliminated.

Symbolism:
A lot of what Calrex does is self-explanatory, but a few new things has begun to make their way into his movements which have a certain personal meaning behind them. Ever since the 12th floor was unlocked he has begun a small almost ritualistic act before certain fights: Removing both blade and scabbard from the back of his hip and holding it in front of him before promptly extracting the sword while tossing the sheath to the side. If he ever does this, it means that he has dedicated all of his focus on the battle, and will perform to his utmost best and over until its conclusion.

Standard Armament (Grand Blade Iterations, Rebellion of Sapphire, Grand Chariot Iterations)

The standard gear that Calrex equips when on most adventures and missions. What's unique about it is that his gear excels in almost all of his stats, given the amount of Skill Points he has invested into his respective weapon and armor skills. With the high evasiveness and accuracy, it exemplifies the build he had unknowingly grown towards, a "lightning bruiser." The only difference between the Grand Dragoon and Grand Chariot: Legacy, is his appearance. The Grand Dragoon fits over his casual combat clothing, being simply a pair of pauldrons and poleyns. Compare this to the Grand Chariot: Legacy, which much like the original armor it's named after, covers his entire body.

Anti-Archetype Armaments (Aegis Armament, Ichor Armament)

Two sets of gear that Calrex had collaborated with Oikawa to create. Each set of gear is designed to counter a particular archetype that he had experienced within the game, both player and monster alike. In a way, there are the next iterations of his Maelstrom Armament, which was originally designed to counter malevolent players. Aegis Armament was designed to counter speedy or evasive opponents, while the Ichor Armament is made to counter enemies with high defenses. In terms of meaning, Calrex chose the names Aegis and Ichor for what they represented, with Aegis being protection, and Ichor being "blood of gods." These are a representation his resolution, to be the final judge of those who believe they are "gods" within SAO, whether they be NPC or player.

» Traits (Replaced Virtues / Flaws):

As Calrex has progressed through SAO, his emotions and personality traits have developed to the point that he no longer thinks of them as simply virtues or flaws, merely aspects that make him who he is. There will be times when what could be considered a virtue could be detrimental, and others where a flaw may be beneficial. Every part of him has a good and a bad, and being accepting of both these parts is more important than to try and fixing the parts that are "flawed." Because of this, he has seen his aspects in a new light.

Emotionally Matured. (Replaced Controlled / Observant / Opening Up / Resolved / Suppressed / Calculating)
I cannot control everything around me, but that is alright. I will merely do what I can.

With each of his interactions and the recent events of SAO, Calrex has come to understand that trying to react appropriately to every situation will not last for very long. He now understands that there will always be some people that will always be on his side, and others that he may never become close to. However, he would still prefer to solve a situation with words rather than blades, because there are numerous alternatives to ending a person's life (Note: This doesn't mean he is anti-player killing. He simply thinks it should not be a Plan B or C). Because of this he is now more open and responsive, while also remain true to who he is and what he believes in. Of course, this could also mean that he can be too accepting of how other people are, which he always tries to be careful of.

Protector. (Replaces Solo/Soldier / Knight/Protector)
I have gained much strength from all that's happened. There is no point to it if I cannot help others

Having resolved to change himself and become more of the person he wants to be, Calrex has become less concerned with his own well-being in the game. After being one of the highest-leveled players within Aincrad for some time, he knows that he can face most challenges, and that anything that requires effort may have it's rewards. That being said, he also understands that death could lurk around any corner, and that he may not see the end of the game. However, even with that knowledge, he chooses to continue to push forward.

Calrex-Intense.png
Grounded.
Things will always be the way they are if we don't try to change things. I can't spectate any longer.

With the most recent events of Aincrad, Calrex feels that the way he has gone about things will no longer be sufficient. He had always been more of a observer, merely going along with what's been decided on and being met with disappointment each time. To add to it that many people are now falling by the wayside as a result of it has pushed him to the point that he feels he has to step in and actively participate. Per his conversation with Baldur, he has steeled his senses and his heart for the adversities that come with grounding himself in his ideals. Such people can be considered stubborn or hard-headed. But without a driving force for change, nothing will be done. To him, this means that more will die pointlessly, which is something he can no longer tolerate.

Calrex-Doubt.png
Self-Improving
My contributions may be great, they may be little. What matters is not the amount, but the act.

With each player slowly closing the gap in levels between, Calrex has come to understand that his strength will always only be a part of a whole, and that no amount of individual acclaim will amount to anything without others to boost them up. There are no stars in the MMORPG that is SAO, merely survivors. There will always be some that seem more likely to succeed than others, but the fact that everyone relies on each other to clear the floors. This means that while he will continue to become stronger, it is no longer out of fear or jealousy, but out of the desire to expand his ability to add to the community's strength.

Cold-Persona.png

Cold Persona (Controlled / Corrupted) Fudoshin
This is the calm before a maelstrom, hope you're prepared. / I will eliminate you... / Tune out all distractions, stoke the fire inside...

Only recently has Calrex become somewhat aware of this side of himself, and only once so far as it actually manifested. In situations of extreme distress or duress, Calrex's emotions aren't dampened, but instead completely shut out. At this point he relies only on what he knows and instincts, becoming an emotionless machine that for the most part is fueled by cold logic and reasoning. This has a serious drawback however, because once the situation is resolved those repressed emotions return like a slingshot, with the mental feedback capable of incapacitating him for quite some time. Two characteristic markers of this persona are his emotionless eyes and eerily calm breathing pattern, even in intense situations.
Note: As of recently only once has the cold persona actually fully manifested (See Fists of Stone <<Breaking the Unbreakable>> quest). This seemed to serve as some kind of "crack in the floodgate," since following it there have only been small hints at its continued existence within Calrex. However, his weapon the Grand Blade seems to have some link to it, as if drawing the sword would bring it forth once again. After fighting his dark side once again at the Waterfall of the Sage the cold persona's only restriction was removed. Before it was used specifically on mobs, but now there is a chance that Calrex may attack another player, should they be deemed a threat.
After the loss of Beleram, and Calrex's following lashing out at Teayre, he confided in her the origins of this side of himself, and resolved to bring it under his control. During <<The Essence of Steel>> quest Calrex forced himself to make use of the Grand Blade, replacing his Grand Gauntlets with the trinket Teayre had made for him, the Ocean's Defense. After a mental struggle between the two sides of him he managed to bring it under his control. As  result of this the new indicators of the controlled cold persona are the calm determination and confidence that takes over Calrex while his person and his "aura" seem to be poised and ready to strike with precision and power, like the calm of the ocean before a fierce storm.

After his training with Baldur, Calrex's previously dubbed "cold persona" had changed, being honed and shifted to follow the idea of Fudoshin. While the cold persona was the idea of tuning everything out, being only driven by the logic of his mind quickly observing, discerning, and responding to a situation, Fudoshin differs, focusing on the idea of turning out the emotions and thoughts that would distract one from what needs to be done, not moved by just sheer logic. Because of this is has become less of a personality shift, and more of a state of mind that the bluenette follows when he needs to direct his attention to whatever is present in front of him.

Negative Absolute
...give nothing...take in everything...

Due to the recent events that occured, it seems another "embodiment" of the internal struggle Calrex has in himself has taken form, a side of himself that he would consider to be even more dangerous that the cold persona. The person at time he feels he "has" to be in order to see both him and Teayre out of the death game. While the cold persona is an absence of emotions, relying solely on his instinctual abilities and experience, this new side seems similar to a "negative side," a part of him that doesn't exude or exclude his emotions, but rather absorbs them. If one were to see Calrex in this state, it would be nothing like the normal self they know the bluenette as. Due to his extreme exhaustion from defending Teayre's shop every night, his tired state also has made it easier for this side to "take over." However, after voicing his concerns to Teayre and speaking with her, he has begun getting a bit more sleep, keeping this side of himself at bay. Oddly enough, while this side bears many similar qualities as the cold persona, the main thing that is different is that it makes Calrex even more receptive and aware of his surroundings. Compared to the cold persona, which draws upon past game experience and training, the negative absolute makes use of only new incoming information and experience, meaning with every fight he learns and develops new tactics and techniques on the fly, immediately discarding the learned information upon its conclusion. Because of this state of refraining from using past information, even his formal training from his real life martial arts experience is neglected, making his attacks even more instinctual and savage than before. If his normal and cold persona embody Calrex's more noble side, the negative absolute seems to symbolize the exact opposite, the chaos to his order, and the darkness cast by a "white knight." It has been quite some time since the negative absolute side of Calrex had manifested, likely due to the fact that he has grown more as a person through his adventures and Bushido training with Baldur. The concepts of Fudoshin, Mushin, and other aspects to the mental conditioning involved have helped to center and focus his mind, making him more grounded than before. So far it is unknown if anything will cause this side to emerge again, only time will tell.

Relationships:

Significant Other:

Spoiler

http://s18.postimg.org/lhwvnwi7t/Calrex_Teayre_Wedding.png

Teayre
Even though their relationship developed under such fast and unusual circumstances, there is no doubt that Calrex's heart belongs to Teayre. He feels most comfortable and is usually the most himself when around her, and through the ups and downs that he feels they are most likely going to go through inside and even possibly outside SAO, he wills that he will be there for her. No matter what sadness and pain that she's been through, Calrex will do what he can to help her through them. At the same time she has seen him at his weakest and resolved to stay by his side, even though his cold persona struck out at her. Immediately following this Calrex felt it was necessary to tell her about the parts of his past that forged his personality into what it is today, the parts of his past he usually preferred to keep buried. Because of his growing love for her Calrex has also become slightly more possessive of her, although he tries to keep to being his calm and logical self. The two just recently got married, with a possible larger wedding to happen later on. Calrex, alongside Teayre and Oikawa, have formed the unofficial group Spectrum Coalition, which is to be composed only of the people they would consider to trust the most. Recently, immediately after the marriage Teayre killed her father, becoming a PKer. However, in spite of this Calrex kept his promise, deciding to be with her even though she couldn't enter the safe zones. Because of this for a time he had been lacking a lot of sleep from standing guard every single hour of the night, forcing himself to stay awake to keep Teayre safe. Even though his wife had chosen this particular way of living in SAO, it didn't mean he was going to let her face it alone. However, after voicing his worries to her, and finding out her true standpoint on her player status, he had begun to put some faith on the durability of the Amethyst Boutique, beginning to starting getting more decent sleep. With more recent events, such as Teayre's killing of Manta and Ebony, he has become more concerned with the redhead's well-being, seeing that she may be forcing herself down a path unknowingly that would lead her further from the person he thought he knew, the person he thought and to some level believes is the person she wishes to be. To that end he's resolved to do everything he can to keep her who she is, even if it means that he has to put his life on the line to do so. He has resolved that if he can save one person within SAO, it would be hers.

Current: After losing Battojutsu, seemingly Teayre had decided to hole herself up in the Amethyst Boutique, choosing to isolate herself from the rest of the game. Calrex still looks after her and remains loyal to this day. While he does spend time at Baldur's estate in order to stay up to date with the workings of Jacob's Ladder, the Ultramarine Knight has not lost sight of the person who propelled him forward in the first place. The Crimson Citrine Spiderlily is a representative sword of the bond between him, Teayre, and their friend Oikawa, as he carries their wishes with him into the heat of the battles ahead.

Familiar:

Spoiler

http://s1.postimg.org/ocrvxesgf/Roc_Familiar.png

Roc
After completing the <<Feeding the Enemy>> quest Calrex gained a blue peregrine falcon that he named Roc, after the mythological bird of prey. Roc has only been with him for a short period of time, but his eyes are fierce, a representation of the sharp eyes he possesses. In the flock he was from Roc was the third largest bird of all the members, but because he was of the highest tier he carries a noble air about him. Because of the agreement between him and Calrex they have yet to form an actual companionship, currently working together in mere mutual agreement. When Calrex does not need his power Roc is either dematerialized or off doing his own thing. Part of this detachment is in light of Teayre's loss of Beleram, which affected Calrex in such a way that he felt he should avoid becoming too attached to Roc. Recently the two has started to become closer, being able to share unspoken thoughts by mere facial expression. With the internal struggle his partner was going through, Roc seems to be a reliable companion through whatever Calrex encounters.

Current: Even with all of the hardships the duo have witnessed, Roc has remained a close ally to Calrex, and one that seems to help keep him in line. The duo share a mutual partnership in arms, with both cooperating to pull through each battle they've faced.

Close Friends:

Spoiler

Oikawa
Oikawa was the player that Calrex has grown the closest to as friends. He was the one that helped him and Teayre when they were first starting out in the game and in some ways has been the go-to guy whenever he had questions or needed help within SAO. Because of that he had a strong trust in Oikawa and will always be ready to lend a helping hand to him. Even in light of witnessing Oikawa's sadistic side, Calrex has decided to be there for him to help, should he ever need it. Even with his position as a council member of Absolute Pin, Calrex tries to keep adventuring with Oikawa and tries to keep in touch with him. Recently Calrex had decided to form the unofficial group known as the Spectrum Coalition, starting with Teayre and Oikawa, since they are the two people so far in this game that he would trust with his life. With Oikawa's killing of Zelrius Calrex showed the same concern for the blonde as he originally showed to Teayre, but after speaking with him he still maintains the strong trust that he originally did. He, alongside his wife Teayre, still remain two of his closest companions, and two of the people he still wishes to form the official Spectrum Coalition with.

Current: With Oikawa also seemingly having retired from the frontlines, Calrex continues to carry both his and his wife Teayre's wills into combat in the form of the Crimson Citrine Spiderlily, the symbolic sword he had crafted which also represents the original Spectrum Coalition the trio formed in their early days.

Xanatos
Xanatos and Calrex share a strong sense of friendship and camaraderie after events occurred that tried to shake their morals and thoughts about SAO. After spending some time discussing the matter, the two resolved to do their best to try and make Aincrad a better place. While Xanatos seems to have a strong sense of justice in his mind, Calrex's approach is to see everything by a moral gray area, influenced mostly by a person's motives (Think Akane and Kogami from Psycho-Pass, respectively). As Xanatos placed his loyalty and trust in Calrex, he did the same. No matter what changes he would possibly go through in SAO, Xanatos could always count on Calrex to come to his aid, should he require it.

Ariel
Calrex first met Ariel when she accompanied him, Teayre, and Oikawa on a quest, but unknown to him she had apparently taken interest in his quickly developing skills, eventually recruiting him and Teayre into the Azure Brigade. While initially leery about the idea Calrex decided to agree in order to keep Teayre safe. With the Brigade's expulsion of any non-council members and disappearance following, Calrex was worried about his friend since she thought of them as family. With the later sudden request to him and Teayre to become council members of her new guild Absolute Pin Calrex gave her support, although he does carry the worry that the guilds formation was servicing almost as a surrogate for her lost "family" in the Brigade. Nonetheless he considers her a friend and hopes to be able to help her, even though she takes great pride in her own abilities.

Takneil
Ever since Calrex and Takneil became acquaintances he saw a lot of potential in the young man, as well as a little bit of himself. Because of this Calrex feels he shares a strong bond with Takneil, especially when he revealed to him a side of him Takneil referred to as the "numbness." Calrex realized that many of the feelings his friend had experienced seemed similar to his own "cold persona," and with which he felt he needed to help him through whatever he is going through. Because of this Calrex took Takneil as his protege in Absolute Pin, hoping to help him even more so as a mentor than he ever could as a friend. Takneil can count that Calrex will be there to help him through whatever hardship he encounters.

Meokka
Ever since Calrex assisted Meokka with gathering materials as a gift for Teayre's birthday he thinks of her a close friend and fellow guildmate. Even though she had some formality initially towards him, seeing the more casual side her gave him some relief. While still not as comfortable as he is around Teayre or Oikawa, he still feels he can talk to Meokka about more sensitive topics, while at the same time being able to give her some advice about his outlook on the world's situation. Even though she is slightly older than him, Calrex sees her as an equal and appreciates her point of view. Should she ever need help you can bet Calrex will be one of the people rushing to her aid.

Azrael
While Calrex only got to know Azrael a little bit during their trip together into the sixth floor's jungle area he feels that she has a fairly honest character, even though her drinking habits do cause some worry for him (possibly because he suspects it might be rubbing off on Teayre). With her departure from Absolute Pin and following disappearance any of the settlements, Calrex respects that she had her reasons for leaving, but is still curious to them. Since she was a close friend of Teayre, he hopes that even though the lady deleted her contact list, that at least she still considers his fiancee her friend. Should she ever be in need of help, she can count on Calrex helping her out, should she ask for it.

Ssendom (Deceased)
After randomly meeting his former guildmate Meokka's significant other during the <<Essence of Steel>> repeat quest he took, Calrex has grown closer to Ssendom, close enough to call him a good friend and comrade in arms. Notably, the taller man is also the only person to ever call him by the second syllable of his username (Rex), rather than the first (Cal). In some ways, the two are like opposite sides of a coin when in combat. While Calrex tends to use calm and controlled techniques for his combat style, Ssendom appears to become the embodiment of rage and power, making an interesting dynamic power when the two fight alongside each other. If Calrex is considered a white knight, then the man nicknamed the Dreadnought would be similar to a black knight. No matter what guild affiliation or things that may come, the two-handed sword wielder can count on Calrex to be ready and willing to lend aid should he need it.

Baldur
Baldur was a man that Calrex had met from time to time when he was lower in level, but has become someone that is in some ways a role model for him. Baldur has become a mentor to him, especially when it comes to the ways of the katana and the mindset of battle, and even though the swordsman has experienced his fair share of heartache and loss, he has remained ever firm in his beliefs. Calrex has shared many discussions with Baldur, and it has helped to shape his ideals into what they are today. He trusts Baldur to a great deal, speaking to him about personal matter such as the changes he had noticed within Teayre, as well as what he plans to do to help her. This bond is powerful enough that he has even entrusted the samurai with a heavy agreement: Should Calrex stray too far from his ideals, Baldur will do what is necessary for the good of Aincrad, and strike him down.

Takao
Takao is, and still remains, for the most part an enigma to Calrex, but nonetheless he trusts the young man enough to have given his agreement to welcome him into the Spectrum Coalition. He had gone on a few casual outings into the field zones alongside Takao, and while he isn't quite sure if the two are actual friends or not, he would still trust him to have his back should a situation go south. To some level, Calrex hopes to learn some of the more stand out qualities of Takao, such as his easygoing personality and his ability to take control of a chaotic situation when it is necessary.

Individuals of Interest/Concern:

Spoiler

Opal (Deceased)
Opal was initially an acquaintance of Calrex through their common connection with Lindow, but after his death the two had become on closer standing. He had always felt in some way to be an observer in Lindow's place, as the man had placed a lot of hope into her. However, in the few times he had interacted with her he had witnessed much change. Initially a member of Crimson Blades, she had progressed to Vice Commander of the Knights of the Blood Oath, before finally being the one that struck down Ssendom and revealing herself to be head of Laughing Coffin, a player-killer guild. This change brought great concern to Calrex, as it seemed to shatter his initial impressions of the woman, as well as in some ways forcing him to determine how it may affect those close to him. He knows that if he merely stands by, further potential harm could be done. At the same time, he doesn't want to do anything rash. To that end, he hopes to understand and possibly see what caused the change, but in the back of his mind he also knows that should things not turn for the better, he may have to do what needs to be done to protect those he cares about. After having such a discussion with her, the bluenette began to understand more of where Opal was coming from, as well as a new perspective on his own morals and ideals. While this did seem to improve over time, it appeared that her personal crusade would end preemptively at the hands of the very guild she was deceiving.

Story Thus Far

Spoiler

After first logging into the game, Calrex didn't even get a chance to finish a sentence before realizing he was trapped in SAO. After much contemplation, he encountered Sousuke, Tyrius, Celes, Raeyliff, and Teayre in a smaller plaza within the Starting City. They prepared to go in a raid to help get Calrex and the other new players acquainted with the game's mechanics, as well as possibly getting them ready so that they can survive within the game. After meeting, the group decided to reconvene at a later time so that they could prepare themselves. Oikawa offered to help Calrex and Teayre with combat by taking them outside the city to fight some boars.

Although the group managed to train against the boars just fine, Calrex seemed to have some trouble with connecting a hit on the boars. However, this was quickly cured when Oikawa had Teayre and Calrex accompany him on the <<Secret Medicine of the Forest>> quest. After encountering two wolves, Calrex managed to find his rhythm when they fought the Little Nepent they were supposed to hunt.

After completion of the quest, Calrex accompanied Teayre through the streets of the Starting City for an adventure in town. After spending some time at the cafe Oikawa took them to before starting the quest the two went through the streets to try and find the Monument of Life, the gigantic slab of rock which had on it the names of all the players within Aincrad. After spending some time searching they did find it, taking note of the locations of their friends on it. It was at this point that Calrex, after some realization, began to recognize his developing feeling for Teayre.

This came to a head after they decided to spend the night at The Hogsback Inn. After a lot of buildup of romantic tension, the two ended up reciprocating each other's feelings. After taking his turn at the night watch, Teayre took Calrex back to the cafe, then took off on their excursion. After visiting various places around the Starting City, Teayre and Calrex ended up stopping by Oikawa's forge, the Gurando Foji, to give him a present as thanks for all of his help so far, one of his beloved strawberry creme pies from the Starlight Cafe.

Sometime later Calrex decided to take Teayre to the place she had mentioned during their excursion, the High Field of Crossing on the second floor. After departing from the Hogsback Inn and making their way to Urbus, the two began their search for picnic supplies within the medieval city. During this time their relationship deepened, as Calrex decided to share with Teayre a very important point about him: his real world name. At the same time Teayre revealed more to him about her past and why she decided to jump into SAO.

Sometime later Calrex was wandering around on the first floor when he accidentally got lost, ending up meeting a bunch of players during the night nearby a pool: Xanatos, Reusririasuir, Syo, and Kosan. He also got to meet Baldur, a person he had often visited in his shop, in a more casual setting. Of course, since Kosan was an orange player, there was some initial tension between the green players and himself, but it seemed that Baldur managed to dispel the situation easily. After some brief introductions were made it was deemed late enough in the night that it would be considered dangerous, so Calrex along with the initial group of players made their way back to the Staring City.

One particular day Calrex didn't really have anything going. So, finally deciding on what he was going to do, he began his new "profession" as a hunter/gatherer, going out into the fields of the first floor to procure materials for the various shops. Since it was his first time doing so, it wasn't an amazing bounty, but he did manage to get enough to donate a couple of materials to five shops that he figured would be great to start with. This proved to be a fruitful venture as he had received two orders for materials from Mari's shop Alchemic Contagion and Ariel's shop The Lion's Den. Currently he just concluded his first day of searching, dropping off his first haul with Mari.
