{OP~F1} The Great Atma Makes His Grand Entrance

Recommended Posts

Atma wandered the starting city with no real purpose in his magnificent mind. As he wandered, he pulled out his sword and began to swing it in various ways, practicing his ever so graceful technique. Eventually, Atma found a bench and, after dusting it off, sat down. As Atma sat there, he used his fingers and combed his hair, ensuring that each strand was in its proper place. Atma looked at his sword and thought, A very fine blade for a very fine man.

Arekkusu was looking at everything that there was to see at the city, or at least what he thought was everything. He was relaxing from atop a roof from an NPC building, which he would probably get scoped for, but he didn't care. He had a free day, everyday he had a free day. No schedules or yelling adults there to try to discipline him.

Arekkusu noticed that there was a player among the people, not many NPCs carry weapons in a city. That causes way too much tension, and this player didn't even know that. He had to be new, if it were not the fact that he should know better than to unsheathe a sword in flat safe zone, he had cloth clothing on. The default clothing was a beacon for any players to say that one is new. Arekkusu jumped off, depending on the damage mitigation to avoid taking damage. He made sure to keep his blade sheathed and to approach the player calmly, because jumping off a roof can do just that.

Atma turned his head and looked at the player who was approaching. Atma stood up to greet him and thought, I'll introduce, that's how it should work, the superior speaks to the lesser. As Atma stood, he sheathed his sword and said in a flat voice, "Nice to meet you. Well not really, but for the sake of conversation." Atma smiled at what he said and combed his fingers through his hair once more, admiring the softness of it.

"Sarcastic already?" Arekkusu asked not really caring for a reply. The player wasn't nearly as sarcastic as someone else he knew, and he knew how to deal with her. "Careful with the blade, its not really a good sight for the NPCs to see someone armed. They might think you are going to raid. And... As a new player they are all you have so far. Also, that's probably how you're going to end up with that wannabe bad-ass attitude. Careful what you say with that mouth, you might lose it. "

Atma liked this guy, but not as much as he liked himself. Atma smiled and said, "So, I should keep my sword in its sheathe at any time that I am near NPCs? Nah." With that, Atma drew his sword once more and began twirling it in his hand, simply enjoying himself. Atma looked the player up and down and said, "Alright. I got two things for you. One, I don't need simple NPCs to help me, and two, I already am a 'bad-ass', I just have to level up for it to truly show." Atma sat back down on the bench and said once more, "Nice to meet you."

Nice to meet you my ass. Arekkusu thought with a little bit of annoyance. He didn't really like to deal with ignorance, but at least the guy is trying. For being in a death game, he seemed pretty calm. He won't be if he gets a Pker mad at him, and if a bounty were to be placed on him this man is done. Not that it was Arekkusus roll to protect him, it's not like he really cared with a reputation like that.

"Yeah sure whatever." Arekkusu said as he pulled out his flaming blade, ignoring his own advice. "This is my badass weapon right here, but I'm humble regardless, that stater sword will only get you so far. How do you get something like this? The Npcs. I'd show a lot of respect to them if I were you, but you don't have to listen to me anyways, sometimes people learn through experience."

Atma looked at the player and began laughing. This intensified to the point that he was clutching his stomach and crying. After the laughter subsided, Atma said incredulously, "You-you do know that NPCs don't care how they are treated, right? They are nothing more than programs, they DON'T feel." This was awesome. A player who acted like he knew what was going on, an obviously more 'experienced' player, was saying the most half-retarded things Atma had ever heard. He said to the player, "I don't need a flaming blade of death to kill things, and you also must get REALLY into the game. Seriously dude, remember, THIS. IS. A. GAME. Okay?"

"Now that's how a retard is speaking." Arekkusu said as he looked through his inventory to look for a picture of the deceased insane girl he eliminated. She hacked her way into the game, little did she know that Dan sent Arekkusu a picture of her head after she had died. That Nervegear certainly had a way of killing players, this was proof that this game certainly was designed to kill. "See this girl right here?... Do you want to know how she ended up like this? Well I don't give a damn if you don't, she was a player in the game. Then she died in the game, an insane girl she was, but she died anyways. This is a photo that my brother sent to me of how she ended up."

Atma didn't care, and that was that. This was a bunch of pointless conversation that he shouldn't have to bother with. Atma said in annoyance, "Okay, cool. Lemme tell you somethin', okay? This silly crap that you're trying to show me, it doesn't matter. I matter. Not some dead girl, got that? Now, be a nice boy and bother me no more. Once again, nice to meet you." This was a most interesting day for Atma. He wondered if this player would end up being his rival, and thought, that would be a great book. The Tale Of Atma-The-Great VS The-Random-Passerby-Who-Thought-He-Mattered. Of course, Atma also sort of wanted to make some allies in this game and said, obviously lying, "Alright, my apologies. I'm just a bit strung up, what with this death thing going on. It can stress you out, you know?"

"Well since you care so much." Arekkusu said sarcastically, he knows the way people talk, he used to be an asshole to people. "This game isn't what you you think it is. For one thing, there is no escape from here. Since you're here, you made a contract to the game saying that you'll be playing this game until either you die or the game is beaten. If you don't believe me, I dare you to look through your menu and find the log out button, tell me if you do."

And that was it, the idiot had said enough stupid for twenty people. "Hey, dumb-ass, check this out. I just mentioned that I know it's a death game, and that would mean that I also know there is no logout button because when Kayaba made the announcement, I was there. So, will you stop wasting my time and have a civilized conversation with me?" Atma sheathed his sword, offered his hand for a handshake, and, winking, said, "Hi there, the name's Atma, nice to meet you!"

Arekkusu sighed, he just about had it with this player. There was nothing more at this current moment that Arekkusu would love to do than to smash this guy through the near Npc shop. There won't be damage inflicted, just a major knockback effect. It would feel so great, but then again, his reputation would diminish right there, even if he felt the guy deserved much more than that.

"Arekkusu." Arekkusu said, keeping his hands in his pockets, he learned his own ways of being rude because of the other rude player. If only she were here right now so he could call her an asshole, kind of like a thank you in their language.

"Well," said Atma, "nice to meet such a well-equipped player. Say, what level are you, man?" Atma's mood had completely changed. He was all cheery and showed no signs of his previous self. Atma had a way of not caring about his previous actions, and this was an example of that. "You know," Atma said with a sly smile, "you seem like the ninja-assassin type. Am I close? Or are you a battle-hardened mercenary?"

"Consider me more of an assassin." Arekkusu said as he looked at his coat. It was really the main source for that. "I have a high amount of attack power in my blade, one of the strongest, but not exactly there yet. I also know how to dodge many attacks. I recommend that the attack power should be the first thing you upgrade, I can give you a weapon if you'd like."

Atma was shocked to be offered a weapon by what seemed to be a high level player, and said, stammering, "U-uh yeah, s-sure man, I'm cool with that. But I have a question, what type of weapon is it? I am more familiar with one-handed swords with medium range." Atma was reeling inside. This man, he was one of the few who, from the looks of it, put aside the past and accepted Atma's cocky attitude, or ignored it. He wasn't for sure on that. Atma looked down at his clothing and thought, I am going to have to get something better. Perhaps a silver cloak? Or a red one? Eh, I'll figure it out later.

"1 handed, you got it. As for the range, it's not medium, but long range actually." Arekkusu said. "It's pretty good to start with, I was given the blade when I was a low leveled player, level 2 specifically. He was a level 25 player, and it's been with me until I was a level 17 player, until I got this blade. It is pretty good until you can stand on your feet."

Atma was happy that there was a blade that suited his standards, sort of. The range was a minor inconvenience, but Atma was happy anyways. Atma opened his inventory and began searching through his menu, saying, "Um, do you know how to accept the sword when it is offered, it is in the menu, right?"

Arekkusu sent a trade request by flciking his finger through the menu. He then realized that he didn't have to ask for anything. He offered The Rising Edge blade and asked for nothing in return. He then hit the blue circle, where the trade was sent. The sword is uncommon, so it can hold 1 skill as well as it inflicts 1 extra point of damage.

Atma saw the trade request pop up , and pressed accept, a bit nervous to be acquiring such a nice weapon so early. He looked at Arekkusu and said, "Dude, thanks. This is going to help me a whole lot later, I just know it." As Atma stood there, he said to Arekkusu, "I'm sorry by the way, about how much of a jerk I was. I hope we run into eachother many times throughout this game."
