Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath was wandering around floor 6s main town. He'd never been here before but he was living every second of it so far. Mainly because he could walk around not in bitter hot or cold like the floors below him. It was ... Pleasant here. So was the atmosphere, everyone was happy and walking around, not particularly phased by the problems of the world at this time. Though Malakath knew he was loafing around and should be training he just didn't feel like it. He'd been full on training most days and thought today was going to be different. He was wrong. Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath whilst looking at some of the market stalls came across an NPC who looked terrifically unspectacular. His clothes were player started clothes and he was sat on a bench resting his head in his knee and chin as if in the form of that old statue. The Thinker was it not called? Malakath approached him as curiosity got the better of him and went to check what his quest was. All the NPC said was ... "I'm bored, we should fight." Malakath frowned at this. Malakath was unaware of a duelling NPC and frankly he thought it was funny. But nevertheless saw no harm in it. Figuring that this NPC wants a normal duel would have been a mistake, a mistake Malakath made.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath simply said "Alright then, just a duel wouldn't hirt, gotta do at least something today huh." Malakath often did something daily, but this may make his day, a completely new experience as it were. He tapped the blue circle and something mysterious happened. The pixels around the NPC morphed him into an exact replica of Malakath. Slightly stunned by this, the NPC moved to attack first but what Malakath had to do is see what he looked like from the back. Because of the skills. The Gemini will be portrayed by a G at the front of the post, also, though both do two damage due to skills. Malakath is the only one who can mitigate it to 1 damage, since he is wearing armor. Malakath also will be hitting in 4s and can only be hit by rolls of 8 or higher whereas normal thresholds apply for the Gemini.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted January 12, 2015 G Anti- Malakath leapt at the real with his own khopesh and attempted to swipe it across his chest. But Malakath had other plans and hoped to deflect the blow away whilst damaging the enemy him. Dice ID: 6566 Hit Die: 8 Hit Mob Die: 7 (-2) =5 Miss Malakath did as planned, slamming his khopesh against the antis. Causing the khopesh to rocket upwards into the Gemini. Causin it to take damage. Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath got cocky and didn't let up, attempting to get in another strike before breaking off and slash at the NPC faux Malakath once more. Missing horribly, due to the fact that he was used as a springboard by the NPC to make some distance. The NPC attempted to then copy Malakaths fighting style but to no avail. As he spun and face planted into the ground. Dice ID: 6567 Hit Die: 2+2 = miss Mob Die: 1 = miss Malakath used this opportunity to then run up and hack at the NPCs spine. Running up and attempting a double armed chop. Dice ID: 6568 Hit Die: 7 Mob Die: 2 Malakath delivered a strike true into the spine of the enemy Malakath. It desperately tried to lash out but Malakath was never there to be hit. Gemini: 12/
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath decided he would pursue this fight to the end, this guy who had turned into him was trying to be him. Copying Malakath's moves aggrivated him since they weren't even done well. Furthermore copying his body ... That was unforgiveable. He was on the Gemini now, beating them back and remaining unscathed in the process. Throwing out blow after blow. ID:6571 HIT:8 MOB: 4 And with each hit he was whittling down this mere MOB with ease. The mob doing nothing but writhing and watching a blade go in and out of itself. 10/
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath straddled this creature. One arm holding down his hand with the weapon in it. The other rising and falling. Plunging the knife into and back out of it's chest. Malakath was in a rage at this point, a sick grin on his face. He snapped out of it but he couldn't stop fighting. He didn't enjoy, nor could he enjoy this. They may be a mob but they look human, despite looking like him. ID:6572 HIT: 7 MOB: 3 Malakath was still stabbing, but with a more stern expression on his face. When the mob hit half health however. Malakath was flipped off as the mob seemed to alternate it's fighting style a little. 8/16 Gemini 16/16 Malakath
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted January 12, 2015 ID:6573 Battle: 2 Mob: 7-2 = 5 Malakath knew the mob had altered it's fighting style. But then it seemed to move in theblink of an eye to strike him. Malakath managed to rotate to the side but the AI hit his blade away instead. Malaakth sprinted to catch the blade with the AI in toe of him. Then Malakath caught the blade by diving and grabbing the hilt before it hit the ground. Malakath attempted to deliver a slash once more to avoid the chance of it getting in a strike ID:6574 Battle:2 Mob: 9 +1 Damage Malakath turned slightly too late as the AI slammed it's khopesh into him. But it just managed to hit with brute force as if something stopped it. His Armor!!! Good goin' Sosuke!!! Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath still turned and grew angry for actually taking the hit in the first place. Screaming with rage at his own incompitence and adrenaline rushed into his system. He began to rotate very quickly, becoming a buzz saw of red cloak. He torpedoes into the AI at breakneck speeds and while the AI tries to slash at him it hits nothing but cloak and ripples through it. Ripping into him the singular khopesh ruins his front with an array of 4 seperate slashes along it, giving glowing red stripes to the Fake Malakath as it were. ID: 6575 Hit: 10 = 2+2 damage Mob: 7-2 = 5 The gemini rockets backwards and collides with a wall, cracking it up but not demolishing it luckily. But rose again, still not out of the fight. and began to walk back towards Malakath as it expected to attack at a moment's notice and actually get in a good portion of damage. Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath stood as the gemini drew closer. It never really seemed to stop until about 5 paces from Malakath. Then fell to it's knees, as it looked up to Malakath with his own eyes. It infuriated him. But the AI seemed to be done with the fight. Sadly the mission said to kill him. So Malakath had to comply, Malakath rose the khopesh into the air and held it there for a moment. ID:6576 Hit: 2 Mob: 2 Malaakth thought about it, and then dropped his khopesh for a moment, weighing up the possibility of not killing the Mob right away. As though it was aware and had been killed so many times before. But Malakath didn't think it was possible.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath was in a tough situation. He could kill this AI like anything else, without mercy or remorse. Or the fact that it looked human, and effectively was a human in a computer program. Was it ok to do such a thing? He still found it hard to accept, if he can take the life of a human looking mob, what's to stop him from bending his mind to fit that of a PKer. The answer quite simply was nothing, nothing stopped him. He had a traumatic event right here to deal with. and somehow in the midst of it all was this mob, the mob that several players have killed before.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath bit his lip and closed his eyes. Still contemplating the fact that this may as well be a real player. It looked real and the noises it made when it attacked sounded real? What's the difference between NPCs and humans in a game where everyone has a virtual body? Not a whole lot to be honest. The only difference Malakath found was sometimes their emotion didn't exactly fit the situation. But this one had a look of sorrow. Which unsettled him slightly.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted January 12, 2015 He looked to the Mob and took a knee himself, looking into the eyes of this creature. There are no emotion in his eyes. No light, no spark. Ultimately it creates the impression of it not being alive. But he couldn't just say ok to killing the AI. Also since everything becomes pixels when it dies. Players and AIs alike. He picked up his khopesh and moved around the mob. Looking at the back of the mob he smiled "I look quite good from behind. Dark. Mysterious. Badass." Before moving up to the AI and slashing it once with his khopesh. ID 6577 Hit: 8 Mob: 3 The mob took the hit and lay there on the ground, it hadn't despawned yet but it just lay there. Motionless Gemini 2/16 HP
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Or at least it looked motionless until Malakath started to move again, then it began to writhe. Curling into a ball and sobbed. An AI ... Sobbing. A cheap trick for cowards to use as far as Malakath was concerned. He looked down to it and had a sad look in his eyes, crying for an AI looked ugly, as it made all the motions but never really cried. It was odd for Malakath, it felt like looking at a what if of 'what if humans had no tear ducts'. It was very unsettling but Malakath had to persevere. Deliver the final stroke as it were, he raised his khopesh up into the air and held it there. As if waiting for something to happen. ID 6578 Hit 9 Mob 3 Malakath brought down the Khopesh onto the neck of the gemini, detaching head from body. But Malakath never watched himself do it, he head his eyes shut the entire time. He couldn't watch himself do it, that would tip him over the edge. Gemini: -1/
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath waited for what seemed like an eternity for a noise that sounded like the shattering noise that usually came when things died like they did in SAO ... But it never came, as if it wanted Malakath to look upon his handiwork. Malakath sat there for at least 5 minutes periodically nudging it with his foot to see if it was still there. Indeed it was, unbeknownst to Malakath he had to interact with the corpse to complete the quest. But sadly he didn't want to see it.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Eventually he worked up the courage to open his eyes, turning away from it at first. but slowly turning into it, seeing the feet and then everything else in turn. The head had despawned but the rest was still there, waiting for Malakath to complete his quest. Sadly he needed to complete it, this quest game him a lot of stuff, a new skill AND 3 skill points. He was so very hungry for those and looked upon it in it's glory. He then said "I suppose I'll be fighting more human-like enemies later on anyways." He tapped on the body of the AI and hoped that he could get a good skill out of it. He hadn't really read the rewards. Just kind of accepted after seeing skill points. Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath heard a little noise that sounded familiar. Like in a game from a long time ago what happened when you found an item within a chest. And read the notification. <<Congratulations. You got the Disguise Talent!!! This allows you briefly to turn into someone else!!!>> Malakath admired it for a moment. Wondering if it would work in combat somehow, like turning into them or someone they cared about during combat. Malakath also recieved the three skill points and added them to his pool of unused skills.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #18 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Malakath began wandering around once more and decided to go into the tavern for something to eat. Sitting at the table and eating one of his breads to restore that 1 HP he lost. He then sat there and tried using his disguise skill, briefly turning into a barmaid. Or a guard, turning into the opposite gender was very odd. Since he shrank, usually his chest got heavier and ... down there disappeared briefly. But eventually he got used to it. He needed to if this was going to do him any good whatsoever in the long run. Which he believed it may do, in conversations, espionage and combat potentially.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted January 12, 2015 After having some of his food he got up once more and headed to the door. He pushed it open and looked at his starter khopesh. He couldn't believe how bad it was yet he managed to do so much with it. Just like that, he considered the first few months of his life here and how far he'd gotten on this khopesh. He'd be glad to see it go as for all the good it did, the hardships it brought weighed on him more. He placed and order a while ago with a guildmate for some items and wondered if they were done. Walking to the teleport crystal he pondered this and then considered his schedule. What he'd be doing and where he'd be. After crossing that alternative from his mind he decided to stop at the teleport crystal for a while. To recuperate his thoughts.
Malakath Grimm 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Author #20 Share Posted January 12, 2015 He got there and completely forgot about his last plans, he started thinking about the things he couldn't get in the real world. Friends, a girlfriend, a group of people to hang out with him because he was cool. Not because he had all the answers to copy from in tests. It got degrading after a while, being used like a tool. But he got used to it, then he came here, to Aincrad. Where he had friends, and hobbies, and girls he liked didn't straight up laugh at him but blushed and listened to what he had to say. He was imprisoned here like they were but he contemplated. After getting out of here, what would we end up doing? Stay friends and meet outside the game, maybe move on to find new games. Malakath still had his reason for getting out of the game, but that would wait for another time.
