Tyger 0 Posted January 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2015 The Catfish Forge (and Sundries) is a nice little one stop shop with a Blacksmith and Merchant. No cloth, unfortunately. It is settled on the outskirts of town, so PK'ers are allowed inside. NOTE: It is at Tyger and Baldur's discresion to serve you, individually. While she is wary of PK'ers, she is understanding. Chaotic/Neutral/Lawful Evil shall not be served. Anything above is debateable. A small fireplace adorns the right wall, usually always stocked with firewood. A few tables surround the outer rim of the shop, all adorned with order forms, pencils, and random things Tyger has found while out on the various floors. The door leading to the forge is adorned with a simple sign reading 'Forge,' But it's blocked off by the desk. Unless you can get behind it, there is no access. There is a stairway roped off with a simple chain. If you can take the hint, Tyger would prefer you not to go up there. On the desk is a note whenever Tyger is not in the shop. It reads: Howdy! Welcome to my forge and sundries! Yeah I know, it's a silly name. But it's the name I felt was perfect! On this side, where the forge is, is where you can buy armor and weapons. I've got a few order forms, just in case i'm not here, scattered on the tables and desk. If you're here looking for the Merchant, go talk to Baldur over there! Feel free to write in your order, and put it in the box on the front desk. Be sure to put the date and time, so I know who came first. Don't lie, or I might spit in your ore... It is signed 'Tyger'. The box is, indeed, waiting on the desk. What are you waiting for? Order Form Name of Item: Granny's Cookie sheet, Sword of 1337 Type: Headpiece, Breastplate, Weapon.. Tyger 0 Posted January 16, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Craft Attempt #1 Tyger cracked her knuckles, facing the firey forge in front of her. The various materials she'd gathered while out in the field lay in the basket on the table across the room. The forge was hot, Tyger was willing, so it was time to start trying her first craft. She melted down the ore she was going to use, and attempted to hammer out the perfect breastplate. Okay, maybe not perfect. It was her first attempt at this, after all. The hammer almost came alive as it danced across the metal, until Tyger could see the armor within the fires. It really was perfect! After the cooling process, Tyger looked at the breastplate in awe. A rare piece, indeed. The way the multiple sheets of light metal crossed over eachother... Baldur would love it! ID #6882, Craft Roll: 11 Name: The Golden Night Crafted by: Tyger, Catfish Forge Armor Type: Metal, Breastplate Rarity: Rare Description: A black breastplate, trimmed with gold. the sheets of metal fit over eachother, allowing for easier movement and better protection as the pieces shift. This armor covers the chest and falls down slightly, covering the tops of the legs. Effect: +2 Damage Mitigation NOTE: This is how the client wants the item to look. Tyger 0 Posted January 16, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Craft Attempt #2 Giddy with excitement, Tyger hung up the breastplate for Baldur and began to make another piece of armor. However, because she was so excited, the project turned out to be a complete failure. She didn't pay attention to the ore sizzling, and took it out too late. When she crafted the gauntlets, they broke, brittle and pathetic. She tossed them into the trash and stifled the fire for today. She had a fantastic day, considering, so she wouldn't let it get to her. The door to the forge closed with a 'click,' as she went to go focus on other things. The first day for Catfish was a success. Tyger 0 Posted January 17, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Daily Attempt #1 ID #6933, Craft roll 7, Fail The fires of the forge were re-it, and the materials sat beside the fiery forge. Tyger put on her gloves, and began to work on the item she had in her mind. However, she didn't have a good grasp of what she wanted to make, and it ended up changing mid creation. Her mind was thinking about a shield, but she wanted to make pauldrons that matched Baldur's chestpiece she'd made. Well, that was a fail. But, after a bit of quick thinking (ROLL #6935, Craft roll 4) she realized she'd remembered reading something about saving materials. She did her best, but it just wasn't enough time to salvage the materials. She watched as the ore died a slow, fiery death in front of her. She hung her head and sighed. "Well. Let's take a few minutes and try this again. Fire is hot." She grunted, drinking a little bit of water. +1 Experience -1 mat
Tyger 0 Posted January 17, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Daily Attempt #2 ID 6934, Craft Roll 10 She returned to the fires, desperate to make sure that she didn't waste yet another material. Yesterday she'd lost a material. Today she lost a material. Where was that awesome luck when she needed it? The first item she made was awesome, and could be tacked up to rare quality. But that was the only thing she'd made. It was a bit discouraging. Biting her lower lip, Tyger put more material on the fire in an attempt to make something special. Something good enough she could sell in her shop, and maybe even give her a little publicity. The shield came out nice and strong, and after it had cooled, the metal had turned a nice bronze. She used a few tools to create the pattern on the front, and after a few hours, she leaned back into a chair, exhausted. It had been made. Name: Knotted Shield Crafted by: Tyger, Catfish Forge Armor Type: Metal, Shield Rarity: Uncommon Description: A golden shield of metal, decorated with intricate knots and patterns. Tyger 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Daily Attempt #1 ID 7078, Craft Roll 12 Today was the day. She just knew it. She'd shown Baldur the forge, the shop, and he was supporting her 200%. There was no reason to fail him, or herself, down now. The fires were lit, and she was ready to get to work. If there were any onlookers in the shop, she closed the forge door so they couldn't see or distract her. Sounds of a hammer against metal rang out for an hour or two, until the door opened and Tyger stood within the doorway: Totally triumphant. The buckler was beautiful. The mixture of material's she used gave it a bronze color, and the picture she'd chosen for the front fit the stats she'd enhanced it with. Name: The Red Fish Crafted by: Tyger, Catifsh Forge Armor Type: Metal, Shield Rarity: Perfect Description: A bronze colored shield covered with an angler fish. Thought to be the scariest creatures of the deep, their tactic of using the dark to hunt unwary creatures has been infused into the shield. With an extra pair of eyes, it's hard to miss. Arekkusu Sepera 0 Posted January 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Arekkusu walked into the shop, a blacksmith sop he could assume since it had the word "Forge" written in big letters on the sign. The owner he didn't know yet, he didn't know who it belonged to. But why not try it out? Player shops turn out to be much better than NPC shops anyways. Arekkusu walked to the counter with a piece of paper at hand. If he was going to master his perfect defense technique, he needed the right armor. A blacksmith was what was needed. Arekkusu left a piece of paper on the counter. Tyger 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Tyger stepped out of her forge momentarily, hearing the door open a few minutes earlier. It had been quiet in the lobby, so she'd assumed someone had poked their head in and left. However, the door was closing and a man was walking out just as she'd entered. "Well drat. Oh well.." She mumbled to herself, until she saw his order. "Sweet! I'll do my best to get it done in an orderly fashion." Yeah, well, nobody was there but it made her feel better saying it. Her first client! Hopefully it wouldn't take too long to craft the item.
Tyger 0 Posted January 19, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted January 19, 2015 ID 7100, Craft Dice 8 Returning back to her forge, Tyger began to craft like she'd never crafted before. Her perfect buckler she'd made sat on the table, and she'd look up at it occasionally to look at it for inspiration. She hadn't made another perfect item, or even a rare, but it was a good item. Tyger 0 Posted January 19, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Craft Attempt #3 With the addition of the ring to her shop, she'd thought about crafting another ring. A pair, to fit maybe a married couple? Someone wanting to propose? Either way, with one ring set it'd be a nice addition to have in her shop. She set the forge up and loitered around with the color. She used a golden ore, so that the ring would come out golden. After a few moments, since there wasn't much to work with, she dunked the ring to cool and harden. It was perfect! Uh, perfect for a good item. Name of Item: Golden Ring Type: Accessory Rarity: Good Description: A pretty, golden ring. Tyger 0 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted January 20, 2015 ID 7136, Craft Roll 11 Today had been rough. She'd had a few fights on the second floor, been chased by a worm, and even dug around like a mad man to find mats. By golly, she was gonna put those mats to good use. The fires of the forge mirrored the fires in her heart as she got to work, using the mats she'd had and that Baldur had given her to create yet another Rare piece for her forge. The scimitar bit back at the hammer as she forged it, and finally the piece was done. Name: Hell Fang Crafted by: Tyger, Catfish Forge Armor Type: Weapon, Scimitar Rarity: Rare Description: A golden and silver scimitar, bred for battle and hungry for the sight of the exploding shards of combat. Tyger 0 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted January 20, 2015 ID 7137, Craft Roll 1 She put Hell Fang against the wall, allowing the metal to shimmer in the light. Next to her perfect item, it was just a nice sight to behold. She was thinking about using Hell Fang, but she'd see if it'd sell first. Maybe she'd change her mind if she didn't make anything else this evening. She put her hammer to work, but unfortunately didn't have as much luck as the last few go arounds. The only way to describe this item was an epic FAIL. -1 mat, +1 experience
Tyger 0 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted January 20, 2015 ID 7138, Craft Roll 8 The worthless item was thrown in the trash. Instead, she'd try to focus more on getting decent items instead of trying to pump out rares and perfects all the time. Maybe she'd just not worry about enchantments for now, and work on some intricate stuff instead. Learning the patterns, and ways to make them look better in the metal was a good talent she could focus on. The shield produced was worthless, and wouldn't stop an attack, but maybe she could hang it on the wall upstairs to give her room a bit more personalization. Tyger 0 Posted January 21, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted January 21, 2015 ID 7175, Craft Roll 11 (+5 EXP, -1 Mat) With her Blacksmith Level up, she could do quite a few items in one day. Thankfully, she was ready for the task. The fires were ready, the forge was hot, and Tyger was ready to sweat and work the materials into something useful. Despite the heat, she was cool, calm, and collected. She had made a sword for herself, but she wanted to give that one to Baldur, along with his armor. So, this one would be for her. "Awesome. I love it!" She practically purred with happiness. Name: Tiberius Surge Crafted by: Tyger, Catfish Forge Armor Type: Curved Sword, Weapon Rarity: Rare Description: A barbed scimitar with a golden hilt, ready to rip into it's enemies. Effect: +2 Damage ID 7176, Craft Roll 10 (+3 EXP, -1 Mat) Tiberius Surge, quite the name. However, she wasn't about to stop there. Why, when she was on such a good streak? The material bin was within reach, so why not go with it? This could go into her shop, along with some of the other general items she'd sold. "I hope they fit whoever wants them!" She murmured, crafting the boots a bit bigger than what she'd wear herself. They could dodge a bit easier with these. Name: Swift Boots Crafted by: Tyger, Catfish Forge Armor Type: Heavy Metal Boots Rarity: Uncommon Description: With these boots, you're ready to hit the road running. Even though they're metal. Effect: +1 Evasion ID 7177, Craft Roll 11 (+5 EXP, -1 Mat) Baldur had armor, so she needed some too. It was silly, but she had always wanted badass armor that had dragon wings and what-not. She couldn't really do that, but she could get close. Besides, she didn't want to make the coolest armor, because she wasn't able to put as much effort into this as she wanted to. It wasn't perfect, but it was close. That was always good. "Can't wait to wear this, it looks so badass!" Tyger 0 Posted January 21, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted January 21, 2015 ID 7179, Craft Roll 12 (Daily attempt 4) (+8 XP, -1 Mat) Tyger couldn't forget about the item she'd been asked to make in her shop. "The dude was nice enough to leave the item order, might as well serve 'em up something nice." She toiled over the fires, and made sure that she'd crafted the perfect armor her client wanted. It hurt her heart to make something for him that was perfect, when she didn't have one of her own, but she'd have time. Well, i'll send him a message and let him know it's done." She put the armor to the side and stretched, ready for a nice long, break. Tyger 0 Posted January 21, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted January 21, 2015 ID 7231, Craft Roll 12 (Perfect Item) -1 Mat, +8 exp "Alright forge, lets do this!" Tyger got to work, hoping that her late crafting wouldn't wake up Baldur upstairs. Ideally, the game would keep all of her crafting shenanigans within her room, but she couldn't be sure if the sound would travel or not. Guess she'd find out when Baldur came down all grouchy, hmm? She did her best to be quiet, but after her perfect shield had been created, there wasn't much that could keep her quiet. "Woo hoo!" She didn't mean to yell, but it was an exciting thing. This was all hers. No shop involved. Working small helped her out the other day, so there was no reason not to try it again. Granted, it wouldn't be a silly vanity shield, but it would be something. Her hammer clinged against the item, and it formed into a 'good' item. Satisfied, she tossed it onto the table and started on the next one. Good item of your choice! ID 7233, Craft Roll 3 (Misterable Fail) -1 mat, +1 EXP With the two items set to the side, Tyger got to work on her next creation. However, there was ak nock at the door, and true to many older movies, whatever was on the 'stove' (or in this case, the firey, hot forge) was 'overcooked' while the customer attempted to describe the super, 1337 item they wanted her to craft. Before she knew it, the ore had merely sizzled out into a burnt, pathetic crisp. There was no salvaging this. 'Darn it!" ID 7234, Craft Roll 4 (Fail, 50% Salvage (Roll over 6) ID 7235 Craft Roll 7, Material Salvaged) -0 mat, +1 EXP She closed her door, ready for there to be no further interruptions. She could only do one more craft, so she got to it. Her mats were perfect, and the forge just beckoned for her to try again. When she did, whatever she was making broke in the process. However, she did her best to salvage the material. When it came up as a success, she sighed happily, watching the item glow, slowly materializing back into the ore. She tossed it into the basket and turned off the forge, wiping her brow. "That was close." She murmured.
Arekkusu Sepera 0 Posted January 21, 2015 #17 Share Posted January 21, 2015 Arekkusu walked in the shop to see how the owner was doing. If nothing has been done, he would figure the player was inactive in their shop. He understood if that were the case, but then he realized that the shop had been active, which was a huge relief. This person was brief with their work, and that was something Arekkusu admired. He would love to shop in such a diligent persons shop. "Hey there." Arekkusu said. Tyger 0 Posted January 22, 2015 Author #18 Share Posted January 22, 2015 When the door opened, Tyger could hear it from inside the forge. Luckily, she'd just finished a craft, so she set down her supplies and walked out, face dirty with soot and dust. She didn't know who'd be visiting, and since Baldur was out exploring every day, it couldn't have been him. Instead, it was the fleeting figure she'd seen walking out the door a few days before hand. "Oh, hey! Glad you came back. I couldn't hear you last time while I was working, but I got your order. It's just about finished, actually. It's made, but you know how it is. I want to make sure the metal has set. Should be good in an hour or so, actually, if you wanted to hang around." She smiled, sliding over the counter to get past the Forge door. "The name's Tyger, by the way, Arekkusu. Thanks for the offer, but all good here!" Tyger took a moment to look the man over, trying to glean as much information about him from a single glance. He didn't seem like a bad character, but looks could be decieving. "Want some water or something? I've got some in the back. I could grab ya one, if ya want. Your stuff should be ready. I'll be right back." Tyger disappeared into the back, and then returned with the armor. "You paying Col or Mats today?" She asked him, putting the armor on the desk. Tyger 0 Posted January 23, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted January 23, 2015 ID 7314, Craft Roll 4 (-1 mat, +1 EXP, Attempt to salvage mat (CD 1) failed) Tyger's stress was to the max with the hustle and bustle of increasing her level quicker than she was. It just wasn't going fast enough, and when she was this impatient, it was harder to come out with better items. So, of course, when this item failed, and her attempts to salvage the material was attempted, it was yet another let down. "Darn it!" She hissed. ID 7315, Craft Roll 1 (-1 mat, +1 EXP) Angry at this point, the next item she attempted to craft was hammered far too hard, causing it to break under Tyger's strength. The creation exploded, just like an enemy mob would have. The shards blinked in front of her, almost mocking her terrible craft. Snarling, Tyger grabbed more mats to feed to the flames. ID 7316, Craft Roll 7 (-1 Mat, +2 EXP) This time was a little better. When her hammer met the forge, a good item was formed. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was something she could sell in her shop easily, if someone wanted something to spice up their appearance. "Not what I wanted, but it'll do for now." She murmured, setting the item aside. (empty slot for custom good item, putting in shop) ID 7317, Craft Roll 11 (-1 Mat, +5 EXP) Baldur wasn't able to use his old cape, which he'd gotten rather fond of. So, instead of leaving him hanging with the stats lost from the cape, Tyger did her best to throw up the fires and make a decent item for him. Apparently, when she had a noble goal, she was able to craft. From the fires she pulled a pair of metal bracers, silver and gold and ready for combat. Baldur better not miss with this, just saying. Baldur 0 Posted January 23, 2015 #20 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Baldur pushed open the door to the shop and walked in like he owned the place. He didn't, of course, but he did live here, so that had to count for something, right? "Hey Tyger, are you back in the forge?" He was amazed at how well designed these buildings were. Through a closed door you could only hear the sounds of battle, a knock, or a shout. Granted that was game code and not construction technique, but the effect of it still impressed him as a builder. "Hey pretty lady, I was just coming by to see if you had been able to make that plus accuracy item for me?" He leaned forward on the counter and tried his best to give her the smolder. "I also thought maybe you could see these, since I don't really have a use for them anymore." With a two-fingered swipe, Baldur called up his <<Swordsman's Cape>> and his <<Sharp Kindjal>> and selected the <<materialize>> option so he could set them on the desk.
