Lessa 1 Posted September 20, 2014 #41 Share Posted September 20, 2014 Truthfully, I was not too bothered by Sachi's death. It was sad, watching people that Kirito cared about dying, but Sachi in particular did not bother me. I found her character to be a bit annoying. For me, Asuna and Kirito's whole relationship tugged at my heart strings, especially in ALO. I have people that I care about that deeply, and imagining myself in that position was really sad. And only because this was mentioned here, I did not see this as a series about Kirito and a bunch of Mary-Sues. The women in this series were strong, capable women. Who cares if they fell for Kirito? I'd be seeking protection and comfort in their situation too. Of course, I would have loved to have seen more of them in the series, but their existence did not ruin anything for me. How can you care about Asuna and Kirito but not Sachi When Silica's dragon died, actually happens to be mine. Everyone has their own opinion!
Lessa 1 Posted September 28, 2014 #43 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Kirito's relationship with Asuna was radically different than his relationship with Sachi. I'm not suggesting that I was pleased by her death or anything. I still felt bad for Kirito. But I didn't miss her as a character when she was gone.

Lessa 1 Posted September 28, 2014 #45 Share Posted September 28, 2014 My point is simply that I don't consider Sachi's death to be the saddest moment in SAO.
Draterion 0 Posted September 28, 2014 #46 Share Posted September 28, 2014 My point is simply that I don't consider Sachi's death to be the saddest moment in SAO. It was partially needed by the company who made sao(the TV show). It shows the sadness of player deaths.
Lessa 1 Posted September 28, 2014 #47 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Mhmm, it was definitely important! Kirito finally connects with people, just to watch them be ripped from him. He couldn't protect them. Surely, that was in the back of his mind always, and played a role in the decisions he made.

Kirito was an antisocial person and he wanted to escape the game. No, need for death... so sit down kid

Argumail 0 Posted October 2, 2014 #53 Share Posted October 2, 2014 Diabel was enough for that though to see a man cut down in his prime was sad as well.
Azerelf 0 Posted November 8, 2014 #54 Share Posted November 8, 2014 My saddest part was when Asuna had just died and kirito wasn't even trying to win. I SOBBED my heart out at that entire scene
Tristan Delaney 0 Posted November 8, 2014 #55 Share Posted November 8, 2014 I actually found more saddening how Sachi's death continues to weigh on Kirito so heavily in the future. The death itself could have just been something that he cried out then moved on, but it basically continues to forever haunt him, regardless if he ever felt that he had repented since. Life 0 Posted November 9, 2014 #56 Share Posted November 9, 2014 For some reason i was sadder when kirito turned down suguha then when saichi died .-. I was also pretty devastated when i saw Asuna giving her life for kirito..
orhalimi 0 Posted November 12, 2014 #57 Share Posted November 12, 2014 For me, the saddest part was after Saichi die he went to tell his his leader that all his guild member were slaughtered while he bough the a guild hall. I don't know from where he took the the force to do it, but after that when the leader jump; It broke my heart \=
Revy 0 Posted November 12, 2014 #58 Share Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) THE WHOLE SWORD ART ONLINE SERIES WAS SO HEARTRENDING FOR ME THAT I NEARLY CRIED THROUGH THE WHOLE SERIES AFTER THE FIRST DEATH.    Edited November 12, 2014 by dordur
Steel 0 Posted November 13, 2014 #59 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Personally, I couldn't help but cry a little when I read the end of Mother's Rosario arc when Yuuki dies. I apologize if that was spoilers to anyone. I also felt sad during Sachi's death but it was when Sachi's message got played out that I started tearing up.
Tristan Delaney 0 Posted November 13, 2014 #60 Share Posted November 13, 2014 I was actually recently rewatching the old Fist of the North Star anime. Found myself unlike SAO tearing up aplenty at several occasions, shedding manly tears like Kenshiro.
