Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2015 While waiting for the owner of Catfish Forge to finish her work, Kino ventures out to the plains outside the walls. The night of Aincrad becomes darker as the atmosphere becomes peaceful, the beautiful stars decorate the feeling of serenity in one's mind. He stops walking as he reaches under the moonlight and swipes his finger, going to the inventory and selects his newly-purchased armor. He straps the cuirass onto his body and wears the metal helmet, it is modeled after a plumed Spartan helmet. Now fueled for combat, he seeks out wolf-type mobs since they contain more loot, or at least Col. Yes, this time he only needs more Col. Frank appears behind him, his eyes glowing in the darkness of the night. Kino hasn't walked yet since he expects his 'friend' to give him advice or directions to the mobs. The monstrous bunny points its claws towards northwest of his position. "....if you wish to shed the blood of fairly challenging mobs....the solution is where I am pointing at...", says Frank in his signature shrilly voice. Kino looks ahead to where he is pointing. In a distance, he could see something that looks like trees, he finally understands what Frank means. The deep forest, he would have to go there. Yes, the deep forest would be a suitable site to farm Col. From what he heard, zombies in the forest spawn greatly at night, some armed with weapons such as a longsword or battle axe. Even some of the zombies are equipped with hard leather armor, although it does not have any special effects. The armored zombies often have Templar-like helmets around their heads. His blood rushing through his veins with excitement as he dashes towards the forbidding forest.
Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The entrance to the forest becomes a little clearer to him as he keeps on walking. However, he feels uneasy as he keeps hearing constant howls from a distance. Not wanting to have a feeling of paranoia, he turns around and scans the field around him. The entrance of the forest remains intact behind him, it is only a few kilometers away. Frank glares at the field ahead of him as he senses something off, something that is uncommon in this area. As his eyes glowing red, his mouth approaches Kino's ear and whispers. "...it is here...brace yourself..." Drawing out his sword, he slowly advances forwards when suddenly an abrupt growl comes out of nowhere. He is shocked when he realizes that it is coming from a figure who just jump out of nowhere. The silent boy evades backwards quickly as the figure stands up in full figure, revealing itself to be a black werewolf. It howls loudly as its snout pointed up the night sky, before facing the player with its terrifying yellow eyes.
Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The lycanthrope's sharp claws shine from the moonlight as it bears its fangs towards Kino. By looking at the claws, they seemed a little dull due to constant slashing and killing around the area, however they are still dangerous as they would deal an additional +1 DMG. Unexpectedly it dashes towards Kino with great speed, mowing its claws towards his chest. Rolled a 2 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 10 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 14/14 --> Bollocks, that attack though! Thank goodness your armor protect you! << Black Werewolf >> HP: 19/19 --> CRITICAL HIT! Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The claws almost penetrated Kino's armor as he couldn't raise his sword quickly enough to attack it. He felt a slight sharp pain on his body, but thanks to the armor, at least he did not suffer the werewolf's critical hit. He prepares to drive his sword into the chest as the werewolf attempts to use its jaw, this time trying to use the bite attack. Rolled a 7 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 8 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 12/14 --> Kino's sword is driven right into the chest! Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The blade penetrates into the chest of the lycanthrope as Kino manages to evade by ducking his head while launching his attack. The werewolf, though, only manages to bite his shoulder, causing a little graze on his skin. Kino grins devilishly as he withdraws and tries to stab it again as both hold onto each other, trying to to win the deathly fight. The situation becomes brutal. Rolled a 8 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 6 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 11/ 14 --> Kino stabbed the << Black Werewolf >> again! Total badass! +3 DMG << Black Werewolf >> = HP: 16/19 --> Is that all you can do? Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The injury done by the sword worsens as Kino severely stabs the monster again, resulting its jaws into going deeper into his shoulder. He tries to withstand the pain as he grits his teeth angrily, Frank watches the battle from afar as the Berserker side of Kino rises from its slumber yet again. The werewolf releases Kino's injured part as it gapes its jaw wide to bite his neck. He is able to withdraw his sword quickly, his other hand that are trying to push the werewolf away is losing its strength. Rolled a 9 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 2 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 10/14 --> INITIATE PHASE ONE! FIYAH!! +4 DMG! (3 + 1) << Black Werewolf >> = HP: 13/19 --> OOOOOOOO GET REKT!!
Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted January 28, 2015 "REEAAARGH!!!" Kino screams like a madman as he drives his sword towards the throat of the werewolf, blood pours out as the monsters bellows in pain. The boy is almost insane as he withdraws his sword again and thrusts his sword into its skull. His eyes look inhumane as he scraps the injury with the blade and jumps backwards, holding his injured shoulder. The werewolf's health is shown to be decreasing rapidly as it shuts its eyes tight, apparently it won't be able to hold its wounds any longer. This is his chance to attack the beast again, he hopes for another critical strike. He quickly vaults over its head as charges up his sword, ready to back stab the creature before it would gain its reflexes again. Rolled a 9 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 5 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 10/14 --> BACKSTABBUUU!!! +4 DMG (3 + 1) << Black Werewolf >> = HP: 9/19 --> WUT R U, CASUL?
Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted January 28, 2015 In quick succession, the charged up weapon penetrates the spines of the werewolf, its roar is becoming louder as Kino pulls the sword away and charges up his weapon again, preparing to unleash the finishing blow. Unbeknownst to him, the werewolf is preparing to horse-kick the player's chin as a last ditch-attempt to deal damage with him. Rolled a 10 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 9 on the d10 (mob) dice. Rolled a 9 on the d20 (loot) dice. No loot obtained. << Kino >> = HP: 10/14 --> A NEW MLG SWORD MASTER APPEARS!! CRITICAL HIT! +5 DMG! Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Much to Kino's surprise, the werewolf actually manages to inflict damage on his cuirass, the force is transferred into his body, taking his health a little. In a fit of rage, he goes berserk by slashing the legs, decapitating them. As soon as the legs digitally vanish, the monster falls onto the ground, trying to crawl away as it whimpers in pain. Kino grasps the fur on its head and stabs through the eye socket, the tip of the blade exits from one of its ears, killing it instantly. The corpse of the lycanthrope disappears as its health is reduced to 0. A message appears in Kino's HUD, it tells him that he had earned a level in advance. He feels satisfied as his health is fully restored automatically, and he had earned a skill point. He decides to spend it later as he has more mobs to slaughter at night. He is disappointed as he found out that he does not get any loot from the monster that he worked hard to kill it. It must had worth loads of Col, and maybe a small number of items too. Regardless, winning at a difficult fight is rewarding enough to him, his lust for blood increases as he grins in an evil way although it does not imply that he is turning to a Player Killer. Fighting monsters, in his opinion is actually much more exciting in his mind. The tension of facing its strength, the struggle to fight it as well as attempting to exploit its weak points, and the experience of sweet, sweet joy when winning a battle. All of these may also be applied to opposing players, too. However, none can ever forget that otherworldly creatures always have at least one or two abilities that is not owned by humans, and the fact that they can be unpredictable is even more bizarre. At one point, Kino even compares SAO with Dark Souls since some facts are pretty similar to him: The fear of death, the difficulty players face when fighting an enemy, the endless possibilities and varieties of the fantasy world, etc. Finishing his exploration in his thoughts about SAO, he sheathes his sword and turns to the entrance of the deep forest, Frank is standing just outside the area as if he is a guardian of that area. Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted January 28, 2015 "...you are getting stronger....," says the monstrous, bidepal rabbit as its eyes gives an unpleasant glare towards Kino. He smiles like a person who just got a 100 gram dose of LSD as he stares blankly at Frank. For a while, he, who is always quiet, speaks again in a quiet yet somehow crazy voice. "...i am the Berserker...after all huh..?," says Kino as he chuckles slowly and almost loudly. "...control your sanity, Kino....you might end up killing someone...." "...no..i wont...if i am ever insane..that would be aimed towards those beasts...and the guilty...yes....the guilty deserves to die...if i have no other choice...." "....would that only make you a murderer...my best friend....?" Frank's voice becomes a little raspier as he is concerned about Kino's sanity, probably due to his delusional mind and coping with loneliness. "I...am not a murderer....I am, a...a Crusader...hah...ahahahah! I can save these players from those f**kers! Yes, I am in a Crusade now!" Frank sighs as he does a facepaw (a paw version of facepalm, get it?), he is a little tired of bearing Kino's fantasy claims about what he will do or what he feels about a certain object, situation or person. This 'fit' usually lasts for a while, but most of his sentences pretty much sums up the entire random behavior. It is not known what would actually trigger him to have that 'fit', since he may be unpredictable with his emotionless and silent character. It might happen anytime, who knows. Perhaps Frank knows, but we would never tell if he really does. Frank approaches the seemingly deranged player as he starts to calm himself, reverting back to normal. His expression turns serious again as he speaks in his quiet voice. "...They kill players...they steal from players...would it not be a good thing to slay them?" "...what if they beg for mercy?", asks Frank in his shrilly voice, his white eyes glaring at Kino's as he puts his paws on his friend's shoulder. "...I would still kill them, for they are always faking their begging. You would never know....just stick to your decision and you will be ok..." "...it is true, you can never tell if they are really begging for their life..but you cannot simply kill them....for you are taking away their chance to go on living.....you must reconsider your one and only decision...will you chop their heads off? Or will you spare them? In either way.....at least threaten them, give them a harsh warning about not repeating their mistakes again....you must disarm their weapon though, and to make yourself sound more convincing.....you should dangerously put your blade close to their neck or any other vital....points of their bodies....actually....placing your blade near their ballsacks is fine too....no man wants to live without a dick...correct?" After listening to Frank's lecture, Kino looks at his skeletal bunny face and nods, he is kinda glad that Frank is giving him a piece of mind. However, his fighting spirit still remains intact as he smirks a little. "...heed my advice, Kino...i will see you in the forest...." As soon as Frank said the last sentence, he releases his grip onto the boy's shoulder and fades away. Feeling refreshed from his moment with his imaginary friend, he grips his sheathed sword and glancing at the entrance one last time, he enters the forests, enemies are not expecting that they would lose to the Berserker. Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The deep forest resembles much like any other forests on Earth, however there are several plants that aren't recognizable to players. These plants glow in the dark, making them the only natural source of light in the forest. Since Kino doesn't have a lantern or anything that illuminates light, he has to rely on the glowing plants. The darkness of the forest creeps him out a little since he expects mobs to hide in the darkness and ambush him. Luckily, Frank is there to help him anyway he could, but not in a combat situation of course. He keeps wandering around the forest as Frank speaks to him. "...there are only armored zombies at this point.....strangely none of the unarmed zombies ever spawn in this forest at night...." Good. he thought to himself. Another fair challenge is ahead of him. As he turns his head to the right, he hears a sound that is the shuffling of a person's feet. Looking at his right again, he sees an armored zombie approaching him as he drags his halberd across the ground. Kino draws out his sword, ready for a fight.
Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The armored zombie is armed with hard leather armor, consisting of a cuirass, gauntlet and leggings. It dons a Templar helmet, however it can be cut through with powerful weapons. It seems to be easy to kill, although defense is still necessary as it can still attack and deal damage effectively. It holds up its halberd and points the spear point towards Kino, who is standing in a battle stance. Rolled a 3 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 10 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 16/16 --> Did you just underestimate its speed? Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted January 28, 2015 If Kino didn't purchase that rare armor, or even joining the guild, his damage would've been large. Thankfully, the spear point really fails to make a critical attack as it hits the steel cuirass, then being bounced off by its durability. Kino thought that this opponent would be slow, but he underestimated it as it revealed itself to be surprisingly agile in combat. He grins widely and chuckles a little, as if he is congratulating his opponent's ability. He was thankful that he joined his guild, or he wouldn't be offered a guild discount in his member's forge, to which the owner's is one of the members himself. In his mind, he thanks his member for selling one of his fantastic creations to him. His fighting spirit works up like a roaring machine as the zombie takes another quick swing with his halberd. Rolled a 7 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 3 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 15/16 --> Enemy hit at the neck! +3 DMG! << Armored Zombie >> = HP: 8/8 --> Attack deflected! Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Kino quickly deflects the halberd with his arming sword and slashes its neck, blood flowing a little from the injury as the zombie is briefly choking, before attempting to steady himself up. Kino takes the next step by evading towards its side and lifting his sword up, he is about to slash him again at the neck as the undead quickly reacts and swings its halberd towards the player. Rolled a 1 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 10 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 15/16 --> Man that guy is sure fast, isn't he? Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Again, the zombie manages to inflict little damage to his armor quickly. Kino falls to the ground before he could even bring his sword down due to the impact and loss of balance, but soon he regains composure, now thinking that this zombie wishes to go berserk. Well, if there is an opponent who wishes to fight like the way Kino does, it is fine for him. An equal opponent is what makes him excited. Kino grunts as he and the undead swing their weapons towards each other, the halberd seem to be a danger for Kino since the spear point might strike a little injury on him. Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Both blades clash against each other, Kino is now trying to push it away with his sword. He notices the force of the halberd's push is getting stronger due to its length and size, the zombie is grunting as it tries to win its own side. What happens now is up to their efforts of pushing their weapon away and attack the opponent quickly. Rolled a 3 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 8 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 14/16 --> Weapon being pushed and shoulder gets a little scraped! << Armored Zombie >> = HP: 5/8 --> Well, at least his mind is evolving as he learns how to attack our hero. Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The zombie increases his little strength to push away Kino's sword and immediately jabs the spear point just above his shoulder, resulting in a small scrap. Kino only looks at him in anger as he becomes annoyed with this mob. He grips his sword and spread his legs, preparing to evade the enemy's next attack. Rolled a 10 on the d10 (battle) dice. Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #18 Share Posted January 28, 2015 As he catches a glimpse of the zombie performing an overhead attack, he immediately swings his sword and rapidly deflects its blade away, quickly stabbing literally through the Templar helmet. His sword carved out a medium hole at the helmet as Kino slowly twists his weapon in the zombie's eye, gouging out the contents. Blood drips onto the ground as the zombie's corpse tears blows itself to shreds digitally. Kino finally obtained loot from his dead opponent, a total amount of 40 Col. is what he receives. He adds this amount to his remaining Col, now reaching over 500. He hopes that he would be able to find a treasure box. According to Frank, one is hidden somewhere in the forest, residing among the big, flowing flowers. He moves on to look for his next target.
Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted January 28, 2015 A few minutes passes by since he walks through the forest. He still cannot find enemies, which is a little sad. Luck, however, manages to makes its way towards the warrior as he stumbles across a structure that is the ruins of a small temple. Frank appears beside Kino, glaring at the temple itself. Most of the roof and walls are destroyed, the only remaining structures are some, of course, few remaining stone walls and the entire floor, although it shows its stage of decay. "....there is...a black knight...in the temple...i can sense its aura....," says Frank. Heeding his warning, Kino slowly steps through the doorway of the ruined temple as he walks onto the aged floors. There are virtually no art or carvings to see, as they are long gone during the destruction of the temple. Even though it is small, Kino could hear footsteps coming from afar. Kino117 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #20 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Walking towards one of the ruined rooms of the temple, Kino spots two armored zombies, limping around aimlessly while holding their weapons. As soon as he draws out his sword, their ears pick up the sound of a drawing sword and turn their attention towards Kino. One of them advances towards him as he raises his cracked round shield, his sword at the ready. The other zombie is staying behind. He is armed with a battle axe, looking at the fight between his ally and Kino as he gives out a death moan. Both of them wear the same armor as the first zombie did. Kino slowly takes his steps forward as he grips his sword in one hand, the fight begins as the zombie that is in front of Kino assaults him with his longsword. Rolled a 5 on the d10 (battle) dice. Rolled a 5 on the d10 (mob) dice. << Kino >> = HP: 13/16 --> His sword clashes with the opponent's, forming sparks! << Armored Zombie 1 >> = HP: 8/8 --> The results are similar to Kino's.
