[PP-F4] Frosty Mat Hunting [Rebeka + Asen]

It certainly has been a while since Asen has even picked up a hammer before to forge anything. His Xilanvale and his Anaithsol are prime examples of his handiwork and it certainly was something he was proud of. However he felt like he needs to improve his equipment and he certainly can't do that by going into a town due to his status as a Player Killer and all. So he pretty much has to craft a much better one especially if he wants to keep himself alive. Of course at the current point and skill that he has he pretty much has little to worry since he made sure that he was hard to hit to begin with. The snow falls lightly upon the fields of white sheets of snow throughout the floor. Just about everything is covered in layers of snow and ice making it harder to actually scavenge for anything at all. However that doesn't stop Asen from wanting to find something useful around here. Anything that can be smelted or used on a item when being crafted is more handy than Col would ever do. Since Col means little to him due to the fact that he never spends it on anything.

 

His crimson red eyes were scanning the ground around him and he even sometimes scoops open a few spots of snow here and there but finds nothing. Eventually he let's out a sigh. "It would probably be best if I just hunt something like Ice Golems or something and loot chests from them. Easier to get materials that way." That wouldn't be an understatement either, since he's capable of doing just that. However he is also aware that he might end up with nothing as well. Regardless he still looks around for anything that he can scavenge from as he is mostly in a dark attire with his hood over his head as his face is covered by a black cloth making him as dark as night. Also his cursor and even his body is a little hard to see since he has his <<Hiding>> skill active and is moving as silently as he can since he doesn't want to be discovered by either Player Killers or by monsters that roam these fields.

Rebekah had been out of materials for well over a month, and she had heard about a popular hunting ground on this 4th floor. It had been a while since her shop had been open for business, as she was one of the rare chefs who's still actively in the game. She had previously turned down a huge offer just because she did not have mats, and would not like to do that every again. She headed towards the spot on the rarely used trail on this floor. However, as she approached the location, she could see some footprints. It was not the shape of an animal, but a person.

 

She drew out her rapier, and continued walking, as she did not know what to expect out in the wilderness. There was always danger of leaving the safety of the town but she was strong enough herself except when facing higher level players. She doubt any active mavericks would be hiding on this floor, just because it is freezing outside all the time.

"Found you..." He spoke to himself as he winds up finding a gathering spot where he can scavenge for Mats. In fact these spots are quite vital if one does not wish to fight other monsters and risk getting killed out here. Of course he has no problem on that option since he can take good care of himself just as he always have, but he's not in the mindset to fight anything right now as he searches one of the few spots around here that's hardly touched by Players due to the amount of Ice Golems that roams around in this area. The only reason why Asen is having no trouble getting passed them is because he can't be seen by these creatures unless he strikes first. Of course there's always a chance of them finding him, but so far they haven't found him.

She continued cautiously down the path being extra careful, but the set of footprints seemed to lead towards a dead end. The footprints just disappeared after a certain point, perhaps the person used a teleport crystal. Rebekah knew that she had to continue to be cautious around things, but knew that this was a seldom used spot, so she would not expect anybody around here. She decided to continue forwards towards the Ice Golems, as she would have least expected someone to be over on the other side of those monsters, if there was someone else around here.

 

The logic was simple to her, why would you rather try to dodge a bunch of Ice Golems to the hunting grounds on the other side, when this side is perfectly fine. She knew that she had to be careful, but before she tried to cross, she saw a small hole in front of her. Rebekah looked down and there was nothing, so she continued walking towards those monsters.

Asen looks around some more and winds up finding nothing more than that one Material from the last spot. Which he kind of figured that was the case since its almost asking for a jackpot if he found more than one in the same area. So with that being out of the picture, he wonders amongst the field littered with Ice Golems though again they don't seem to be able to see him as he's just walking by them while minding his own business. However something catches his attention as he winds up catching sight of a green cursor in the distance. "Now who would be crazy enough to be out here?" He asked himself as he finds the answer to himself. "Eh, i'll be one of them." So Asen hides amongst the Golems while keeping an eye on the upcoming player since his cursor won't be seen unless the player's detection skill is high enough to detect him through his stealth.

Rebekah began to walk through the numerous ice golems, as they began to look at her. Thankfully none of them were making an effort to attack her as she was strong enough to hold her own ground, at least for against them individually. However, she knew that she had to be cautious as it is often dangerous to wonder out here alone. She sees another hole up ahead, a freshly dug up hole in an area to look for mats, but there was nothing inside. She continued forward thinking if she should began to search for them herself, or keep looking for holes in the ground that had been dug up by someone before her.

Asen continues to watch the player while hiding amongst the Ice Golems. Quite frankly he was glad that there was a bunch of them at this spot, but for what reason are there so many of them he wonders. He scoops up another patch of snow only to find that there was still only that one that he had found. Of course he wasn't paying attention to the player anymore as he was muffled on hearing with the Ice Golems moving around and such so he didn't even noticed the girl until he looks up from the hole he just dug who was literally thirty feet away from him. Thankfully there was a Golem standing in between them so he was partially covered for the time being. He knows that if he continues on doing this he's more likely going to be suspected of something. He wouldn't be surprised if she starts accusing him of attempting murder on her given his status and everything. However his cursor is still not visible to the naked eye as he quickly and quietly rolls over to the side in order to hide behind the other pack of Golems who turns to look at him and that's when he realized that his luck just ran out. "Aw sh-!" That was all that came out of his mouth as he realized what was coming as the Golem behind him raised its mighty, ice fist and comes to try to crash down on Asen where he sat. It winds up missing however as Asen performs a cartwheel while lashing out his sword and it slices into the Golem's arm. His cover would be blown, but this Golem seems focused on him now as two others comes around the first one to try to pincer attack on Asen. But he simply jumps up above their heads and leaps again by jumping from their heads making them miss and be thrown off balance a little as he lands about five feet away from the trio that is now formed while the rest of the Golems simply observed. "Well this just might be a fun day afterall." He mumbled to himself as he turns to look at the trio.

Rebekah heard a noise behind her, and turned around to what it seemed like 3 monsters all grouping up against a player. As she drew her rapier out, she noticed that the player had an orange cursor, signaling that he was a player killer. Logically, her first instinct would have been to run, but she has been in this game long enough to know that most players killers are in fact not dangerous. She looked up at the 3 ice golems attacking him, and knew that with all of their focus on the player, she could land an attack of them without being noticed. However, the Ice Golems move fast for their size, and she underestimated them for a second, which allowed them to dodge.

The Golem that the player attempted to strike at turns its attention to her as there was a second one about to do the same. Asen's crimson red eyes narrowed a bit as he moved fast, in fact probably faster than these three Golems combined as he suddenly charges at them. The golem in front of him swung its fist in a downward arc which winds up missing as he jumped again. Only this time he purposely stood perfectly balanced on the golem's shoulder as he used his momentum to strike at the golem behind it which was the second one catching its attention to stay on him. Then seeing his blade pierces it's shoulders, Asen draws out his blade while making himself drop back only to lock his feet on the side of the golem's head that he was standing on and used both the momentum, the angle the Golem was in, and actually lifted the heavy thing's feet off the ground and over Asen to smack hard against the snowy ground behind him as he was in a crouching position facing towards the second Golem.

Rebekah looked at the last golem which had not taken any damage yet. She knew that it would be dangerous for it rest up and charge up for any sort of attack, thus she decided to focus it before it could do much. That said, she did not know what the abilities it would have up here on this floor, but wondered how strong it would be. as she charged to attack it, the golem was not expecting her, thus she was able to hit it from the back and dodge the counter-attack easily before getting back to a safe distance. She knew she had to be careful, and know where all the golems are, because she did not want to be attacked from behind.

That first one that Asen pretty much slammed onto the ground behind him was simply too dazed from the impact as it tried to stand up but it winds up falling back on its face as the second one seemed to have lost its footing. "Why is it these Golems are always so clumsy?" He asked to himself as he charged in fast in a zigzag pattern towards the second one. Almost in 0.3 seconds, Asen closed that almost three meter gap to quickly slash at the Golem's knee in a single fluid motion on top of the fact that he even places his foot on top of the Golem's head and leaps backwards using the built up momentum to carry him where he needs to go while performing a backflip only to land with grace on the prone Golem as his blade pierces through the Golem's icy body. He was moving pretty fast around here, and that's probably the only thing to him that's notable about him.

Rebekah on the other hand was in her own little bubble. Even though there were multiple players in this skirmish, she was only fighting the 3rd golem at the moment. She realize that these golems were not that strong, as she attacked again with her rapier. However, she was not expecting it to retaliate, well truthfully, she was not expecting to land an attack, but it did the unexpected. It managed to punch her in the stomach with a strong force knocking her back a few meters. Rebekah was able to barely stay on her feet as she was hit up. She knew that she needed to be slightly more careful next time.

Asen suddenly felt a little sluggish as if the wonderous speed and agility he had earlier was just... gone. Of course he was still good nonetheless but this time the Golem that was standing up a few meters away from him suddenly charged at Asen and before he could react to that the golem underneath him surprised him by it suddenly grabs his left shin preventing him to be able to dodge the attack. He tried to get himself free by flipping his blade and stabs the Golem right through its head. Unfortunately he couldn't do that fast enough as he is suddenly rammed into the chest by this Golem as he gasped from the wind being knocked out of his lungs before he got sent sliding back a few meters as his sword went flying in the air. When he stopped sliding, he had to crane his neck to the side as his sword suddenly came down and almost pierced his head as it stood in place next to his face.

Rebekah was getting a tiny bit over zealous with quickly trying to take out the first ice golem in this battle. However, she was too focused in to her attack that she did not realize that another golem snuck up behind her and knocked her aside. The tackle was not hard at all, but that did cause her to miss her attack on the weak golem that was originally in front of her. She got back up to her knees and realized that she should have been more careful, as these giant creatures move really slow, since there should not have been anyway for it to get close to her running from behind, but it did.

Asen slaps his palm on the snow to flip himself backwards to land on his feet while snatching the hilt of his sword into his hands as his crimson red eyes locks onto the Golems that were recovering themselves. Neither of them were tired, but he knew that he couldn't draw this fight out for very long. Right now though, he patiently waits for the Golems to make their move though he doesn't realize that his feet are sunk kind of deep into the snowy ground. Making him less able to evade in a quick reaction. One of the Golems charged at him attempting to slam Asen with its body only to miss as Asen tries to move to the side but slips since his feet were too deep in the snow. He couldn't land a hit on the Golem, but he did managed to evade the attack at least.

Rebekah took an extra second, taking in the entire battle field before fighting again. It was something that she was still working on, being able to focus on the macro level strategy in a battle and not just the individual one vs one micro level gameplay. She looked at the monster that was sitting in front of her, and she decided to fight it. However, she miscalculated the speed at which it was moving, as it was easily able to dodge and punch at her using its arm once again. She looked at her health bar, the monster was quite weak overall, but she did not like losing any hp from her health bar.

Asen was having quite the luxury here facing off two opponents at the same time while the other Golems were simply watching kindly waiting their turn to have a shot at them. Which he honestly has no problem with that only that he's not alone here as he sees the girl that was fighting the solo Golem and was getting smacked around a bit. One of the two Golems that were onto him suddenly charged at him with its raised fist in the air as it attempts to smack Asen down to the ground. That didn't happen as Asen quickly jumped back just in time to watch the ice fist smash into the ground leaving a low rumble as he quickly runs up the creature's arm and leaps off from the Golem's shoulders towards the second one. The Ice Golem goes to swing upwards with its mighty fist, but Asen flips to side and goes to slice at the Golem only to miss its head by a few inches and winds up zipping past the creature's shoulders. So he has to flip again to land on his feet behind the two now before spinning around to face them.

She had been struggling up until this point in here battle, as the 3rd ice golem was able to strike her 2 times in a row. That had been a problem, as she looked over to the yellow player. He had been more effectively in a two versus one situation then she had been fighting it solo. That was a problem too her, as she felt that she was strong enough to be able to fight effectively. Something just did not feel right, her battle style or something, it just felt off so far.

However, she tried again, as she was not one to give up this easily. She launched herself at the 3rd ice golem striking it before it could attack her once again. The single attack had done it, as it exploded into pixels, and was dead. Now she turned her attention over to the other player, wondering if he needed any help.

That's where Asen made a huge mistake as he accidentally misjudged the direction that one of the Golem's direction as it suddenly changed course on him. It made an attempt to slam it's icy structure into him however he lucked out big time as he jumped over the Golem as it winds up slamming into the other one. However Asen winds up losing his balance as he fails to land on his feet and winds up laying on his back. It didn't hurt him but the impact knocked the wind out of him as he slowly rolled over to his hands and feet.

Rebekah had been pondering the idea of whether to help or not, but decided to help out, as it would have been faster for the both of them to finish fighting these monsters together. Even though, he seemed like a stronger fighter than her, and that he did not need her help, the battle will finish up a lot faster if she was to help lower down their experience. She just hoped that the orange player killer over there would not mind her involvement in this battle.

 

As she saw him last fight the middle golem, she decided to aim for the one that he was not attack, as he was still focused in on the middle one in this battle. As the golem was not expecting her to get involved, she was able to land an attack from its blind spot before it could react at all, thus she was easily able to dodge its counter attack as it was confused looking around for its attacker.
