Cloak and Dagger

On floor 1, a cute little tailor shop stood with a slanted roof and two floors. It was pure white on the inside, with cubbies as shelves lining the wall. There was a ladder leading up to the second floor, where Pepper’s work area was. The ceiling was lined with pretty lanterns with little bear faces painted on them.

"Ugh... Why do I have to be yellow?" Keith said with a hefty sigh, operating the mailbox that was outside the starting city. Keith wasn't a bad person. He got this cursor color because of his Maverick Hunter profession. Though, he did everything to actually avoid taking a life. But hey, according to the game, Keith is a grade-A scumbag. Therefore, everything must be ten times more difficult for him. Regardless of this severe handicap, Keith dedicated himself to protecting and helping all other players. And after hearing of a new shop, he would do what he could to help it. He input the materials into the mail box, and then hit send. He then tagged an extra message to it.

Pepper received a strange package. It contained a large quantity of materials, along with a note from a player with an orange name tag. She shuttered at the thought, but his words were kind. She happily accepted the gift, regardless of who sent it. She then began to prepare for a brand new day, where after she crafted some clothing, her shop would be open for the first time.

Pepper, now ready to begin her business life, pulled out one of her gift items--a fine piece of ancient cloth. She had to be very careful, as it was fragile and the wrong move could rip it. She gently pulled her needle along the fabric, carefully pinching pieces together where she wanted a pattern. Finally, she had finished a nice little accessory.

Now confident with her work, Pepper decided to make herself a nice ribbon. She gently cut along the lines she set and sewed a few pinched parts so that tying it would be easier. Once it was done, she smiled wide and examined it. It was perfect--it would give her +1 EXP when crafting. She decided to put it away for shop use only.

Pepper tried really hard--she worked on this pretty outfit using her ancient cloth, but when she realized she had sewn one side upside-down, she quickly tried to fix it and.... sewed it incorrectly, with folds sticking out where it shouldn’t be and overlapping fabrics and the stitches were too far apart. She let out a long sigh, losing her last bit of ancient fabric.

Pushing her fabric aside, she grabbed a new sheet of fabric—the ghost cloth. It was slightly translucent, but when folded over itself, it became more… solid. Pepper decided to try to make the design she had been planning again. However, the same result came about. She failed horribly, losing her material.

After sewing tirelessly at this stupid ghost cloth, Pepper created it--her very first REAL outfit. It was a light, airy fabric that wrapped around the body tightly and would show off curves. It was a leotard with a side skirt and hanging threads to add effects. It would be good for performers.

With her last piece of ghost cloth, she attempted to make the same type of costume that she had just created, only for a male this time. She wasn't very familiar with the male form, and ended up making the outfit way too... odd. She ended up scrapping it angrily, huffing and puffing.

Pepper tried really, really hard. But she was really struggling with stupid leather. Trying to make armor was REALLY hard, even though she was skilled enough to do so. She didn't understand why she was failing at everything she tried to do. She had only created two successful items, and... now all she had was junk. She didn't bother to sell her failed craft. She discarded it. She was too proud to admit she had failed by selling it publicly.

He wandered into the shop, arms crossed behind his back, "Excuse me, might the shop owner be here?" He verbally reached out to nobody in particular, hoping that a voice would respond with a reassuring confirmation. The store was rather lacking in appeal, being far more bland in color variety than he had expected. He only noticed a few items currently available for sale, but none quite fit what he desired. With nothing around to gaze upon, he looked up the ladder, spotting the pattern among the lanterns out of his peripherals, "Oh, that's quite the... homely touch." After making it to the counter, he'd wait until the shop owner was ready, "Nice to meet you, I'm Him." He extended his hand, giving the owner the chance to shake his hand before returning it behind his back, "I'm here to place an order for pick up at a later time. The craft that I desire is a fist wrap item designed to look, and preferably feel, like a formal nylon glove in the real world. Of course, I'll have to request that you do so with the maximum damage enchantment that you can achieve." He stood still, awaiting her verdict.

Pepper smiled wide. Her very first customer! She felt like such a grown up, shaking his hand and taking his order. "I'll get it done as soon as I can, Mister!" Pepper exclaimed. "O-oh, and would you like me to sketch that for you as well? If you want the drawing with it, it'll be 650 Col. Without the drawing, it's just 600. You can pay me when it's done." Pepper was being VERY careful not to fudge it all up by calling him a dummy or saying something rude. Oske taught her better than that.

After trying her best while she took a break from commission, Pepper created two horrible items. She really was struggling with this whole leather thing. However, after trying VERY hard, she created a lovely pair of boots with the pattern of a bee and a flower on the ankle. She gently placed it into her store window with a cocky smile.

Taking out a needle and thread, Pepper pulled out a sheet of tan fabric with darker brown spots on the back and a sheet of fur. She began to sew the two together. As she did so, the cloak slowly came together in a nice formation. To complete her craft, she threaded a thicker string into the opening of the cloak to add a bow that could close it around her neck. Once it was done, she placed her good item around her neck.
