The Steel Skillet

On the North Road leaving the Town of Beginnings, just a short ways past the north gate, there is a small brick building with a few wooden tables and chairs out in front, sheltered under green umbrellas. The building itself is taken up with a cluttered kitchen, several bundles of herbs hanging from the ceiling over cutting boards and a variety of meats, fruits, vegetables, and grains. Along the walls there are shelves of glass jars with scrawled paper tags on them, containing sides and toppings. In the back, on either side of a roaring oven are two chalkboards, one showing the recipes prepared for the day and general prices, the other scrawled with notes on seasonings, attempted recipes, and orders to be filled. Between the seating area and the kitchen is a sanded wooden counter, with a few blank order forms for customers to request items not yet prepared, next to plates and silverware for whoever wants to stay and eat.

Cooks may craft specific items. These items include:

Snacks (available at rank 1) Cheese and crackers, stuffed apples, garlic bread, etc. Snacks are used for temporary buffs.

Desserts (available at rank 2) Chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake, cookies, etc. Desserts are used for temporary buffs.

Description:

Enhancements

[Well Fed][1][3] Increase max HP by craft rank per enhancement point for the duration of one thread (or game day if RP spans multiple days.) Example: Rank 3 Cook creating a perfect meal with 3 ranks of [Well Fed] would result in a total of +9 Health to players maximum value. A player may never receive a health bonus greater than their current level. So using the same example as before: A level 7 player would only receive +7 health instead of the +9. However a lvl 9+ player would receive the complete benefit. When creating items with this enhancement be sure to include the profession rank you were when making it. Example: [Well Fed 3 - Rank 2] - This means 3 points of well fed enhancement made by a rank 2 cook. See items below for more examples.
Type: +Max HP

[Alcoholic][1][3] Increase DMG by 1 but reduce Evasion by 1 per enhancement point for the duration of one thread. Or one roleplay day, whichever comes first. (+1DMG, -1 EVA)
Type: +DMG

[Hearty][2][1] Allow craft rank additional craft attempts per day. May only benefit from Hearty meals once per day. Example: A rank 2 Cook applying Hearty to a rare meal would grant the following: Rare Meal +2 craft attempts for this day. Applied the debuff "I'm Full!" for 12 hours. You may not benefit from Hearty meals until 12 hours have passed since your last.
Type: +Craft Attempt

[brain Food][2][1] Increase EXP gained from crafts or profession by 1 for the duration of the day. Cost two enhancement points.
Type: +Craft EXP

[Essential Nutrients][3][1] Adds +1 to CD for the duration of the crafting day.
Type: +Craft Die

[Fiber][2][1] Adds +1 to mitigation for the duration of a thread, or one day in Roleplay - whichever comes first. ReminderThis cost 2 enhancement slots for +1 mitigation.
Type: +Mitigation

[Antioxidants][1][3] Reduce duration of negative status effects by 1 post per enhancement point spent on antioxidants. Cannot negate an effect entirely, but will reduce it to a maximum of 1 post. Example: You are effected by paralyze for 2 posts. Rank 2+ of Antioxidants will reduce the paralyze to only a single post. Effects the following: Paralyze, Poison, Burning, Freeze, Weakness.
Type: Immunity

[Vitamins][1][2] Increase LD by 1 per enhancement point spent on Vitamins for the duration of a thread or one roleplay day. Whichever comes first.
Type: +Loot Die

[Herbs][2][1] Increase accuracy by +1 for the duration of a thread or one roleplay day. Whichever comes first. (Accuracy add +1 to your BD results. This does not however grant you the benefits of rolling a natural 9 or 10. In addition a roll of 1 always misses.)
Type: +Accuracy

[Probiotics][1][3]Grants +1 mitigation per enhancement point spent VS the following effects [Poison/Bleed]. This last for the duration of a thread or one roleplay day, whichever comes first. This rule overrides bleed's innate ability to ignore mitigation.
Type: +Mitigation

Stepping into his kitchen, Sozen took a deep breath as he checked that everything was set up for cooking. Well, I've finally got a kitchen. Now to see if I can put it to good use.

[iD: 10490]

CD: [3] (Failure)

"Damn!" Sozen coughed as he waved away the smoke, looking with disappointment at the burnt remains. Off to a fine start here, aren't we? Shoving the burnt bread off the table and into the trash, he pulled out another loaf.

[iD: 10491]

CD: [6] (Bad Item)

While managing to avoid any more billowing smoke-clouds, the end result could hardly be called appetizing. Grumbling, Sozen took the charred remains and set them off to the side. Part of him thought he could try and salvage the bread for another try, but he didn't want to risk any burnt aspects transferring to the sold product. Better to just cut his losses and try another Mat later.

Not the most encouraging of openings, but at least the place isn't on fire. I'll try again tomorrow, see if I can build up my stock

[iD: 10525]
CD: [9] (Good Item, 2XP)

After the failed recipes the day prior, Sozen wasn't expecting much different his second day. But he was pleasantly surprised when the first recipe worked out. "Nothing special, but I'm sure someone will find it a nice change from endless bread."

The second attempt turned out even better than the first. Resisting the temptation to set it aside for his own use, Sozen put the watermelon in a prominent spot on the counter. That'll probably sell pretty quickly.

"Alright, looks like we got some more trail mix today."

Reaching into his Mats storage, Sozen was disappointed to feel the lack of anything. "Drat. Went through my initial stock a lot faster than I expected. Guess it's time to go resupply."
