Chieri smiled, "Oh! Well that is interesting. Maybe one day I will be strong enough to have one too!" Chieri said with a small, awkward laugh. Mari seemed nice enough, although Chieri would be lying if she didn't feel a tad bit unnerved by that smile of hers, but Chieri wasn't going to judge a girl based on her looks. Instead, she would judge Mari based on her actions, and Mari's actions thus far - were wonderfully nice. 

At first Chieri thought that Mari wanting half her materials was too much, but Mari did bring up a good point. It was all dependent on exactly how much Chieri would earn, so Mari was putting her faith in Chieri. The blue haired woman hoped that she could do Mari proud, and prove to her that she could be an excellent friend. Chieri gave Mari a small curtsey. 

"Take care!" She said, as she left Mari's store.

Calrex seemed to be late with his material shipment; so Mari had to go out and find them on her own. Still; she managed to get enough, with the help of Arc - to get enough materials to craft to the day. She didn't like the idea of offering the Crystals for free, considering they didn't get a good enough haul - but Mari was a woman of her word. 

She started out with a simple potion; Starry Eyed Illusion she was out of stock and wanted to slowly fill her shop again, it was looking rather empty.

"Hmmm, I am pretty sure someone was asking about that.." Mari mused to herself as she checked her shop inventory. Noticing that she was completely out of Absolut' Greed. It wasn't exactly popular, especially after people saw it's effects on Mari - during that time in the field when she had sadly, taken Aubrey's young life. Still, it was one many were curious about. It was also quite simple to make. So she quickly crafted it, and placed it to the side.

Mari attempted to make a Calming Honey potion with her new materials. It bubbled over, Mari tried to fix it by lowering the temperature and adding more water to thin the sludge that had formed. It seemed to work, in theory. It did thin the sludge, but it wasn't at the correct consistency, and there was no way she could boil out that putrid smell. With a sigh she took the cauldron off the heat, and poured the contents into the trash. What a waste.

Mari cracked her fingers, then her neck. With some basic potions out of the way it was time to get started on crystals. She quickly and deftly set up the crystal in its canister - allowing the water to drip onto it - waiting for it to infuse Mari began to grind up the wither flowers she had collected earlier with a mortar and pestle. Sprinkling it over the crystal until she had an uncommon quality item. It wasn't the best, but it was most certainly better than her failure earlier.

Mari carelessly tossed the completed crystal to the side, it landed with a small bounce on her table before rolling onto the floor. She sighed a she bent down to pick it up, noticing it was now missing a small chip. She shrugged. It would still work and that was the main thing. She repeated her earlier actions, again placing the pure water on a drip over the crystal and sprinkling wither flower powder over the top of it. Boom, bang, done. Another Recovery Crystal. It seemed that the wither flowers produced a low quality crystal. Mari would have to make note of that for later.

"God f**king dammit!" Mari cried out as she quickly covered her mouth, waving away the plume of thick black smoke. Talk about a critical failure. It seems as though the flowers that her and Arc gained weren't very good - they created a poor qaulity healing crystal and when she tried to create a Sharp Edge crystal - it literally blew up in smoke. The powder was too volatile. It may be worth it to experiment with it however, in the form of a new potion, but for now. Mari had to wait for the smoke to clear.

Mari sighed, deciding that she would use what little sap she had left to craft a final potion for the day. The Wither Flower powder just wasn't cutting it for her, she had crafted the two crystals she promised Arc; and that was the main thing. She wanted to do more crafts tomorrow however, and was already low on materials. As she mixed the 'Happy Honey' potion she mumbled under her breath about requiring a more reliable source of materials.

Description: This Honey smells like a field of flowers, and tastes sweet, a mixture of chocolate and honey. The top half is filled with an ozing warm chocolate and the bottom half of the vial is filled with sweet honey. How wonderful.

Mari only had three materials, three materials from which to craft three items from. Those three materials would have to serve her, and serve her well; and with only three materials she knew that she didn't have any room for error. She gave a deep, and heavy sigh as she pulled out her materials. There was such a pittance. "Where the hell is Calrex..." She muttered bitterly. He was late, very late. He would be getting a deduction in payment for this.

Mari quickly, and successfully crafted a Recovery Crystal, "Well...that's a start..." She mused.

It had been a while since her last perfect craft. Mari knew she technically had to fill Ariel's order. So she sighed, a deep sigh as she placed the Thick Skinned Crystal III to the side. Perhaps it'd be better if she just cancelled the other woman's order, she just didn't like the idea of handing over such an item to the blonde woman. Especially since the woman had irritated Mari so. "What to do...what to do..." Mari muttered to herself, contemplating her decision...she supposed it could wait, for now, she had one last craft to complete.

Since she had given her previous 'Starry Eyed Illusion' to Takao she decided that she would make another, it would be a decent way to end a small day of crafting, unless she miraculously gained another set of materials before the day was done. She sighed. Quickly, and deftly making the vial. Scribbling the label then placing it to the side.

"THat's it..." She muttered, staring at her Alchemy table. "I'm out." She muttered, allowing her hand to glide over the smooth surface of the table. It was weird, not having any materials to craft with.

Right when Mari completed her last craft Calrex arrived back in from the first part of his gathering trip. Since he was still recovering from his encounter, there were numerous red glowing scratches on his armor. Looking up at Roc he gave a nod as the falcon dematerialized. With his familiar off doing something else in the meantime Calrex gave a calming breath before heading into the shop, giving a wave to Mari, "Hey Mari, sorry for the delay. Here's some materials to keep you going for now. All of my orders are now done, so I'll focus the rest of today trying to gather you as much as I can. In any case, I've gotta get back to it before this temporary item boost runs out."

 

With that he gave a quick wave, heading back out into the fields. "Was Mari's material stock out? Geeze I've got a lot of work to do then."

Mari sighed, "Finally..." She muttered. "I have a lot of work to do yanno..." She muttered, waving him off as he scampered back out. She turned to face her Alchemist table, and started her work: she began with the usual, throwing in a clear crystal, and allowing the water to drip slowly over it. Mari crushed up the roots; and  sprinkled them over the crystal. The roots that Calrex had given her were much more effective than the wither flowers she had collected. Mari gave an approving noise before placing it to the side.

Carelessly placing one of her crystals to the side Mari got straight to crafting another; Calrex may have been extrodinarially late; but at least his materials were of far better quality than the ones she had collected. She wasn't sure exactly what root this was; but it was useful nonetheless. She ground it up and sprinkled it over the crystal; just as she did before, and she nearly had a perfect craft. Nearly... Mari sighed as she rubbed her eyes. Mumbling about how she should go find an item she can buy to help with her crafting.

Mari decided to make something new; she hadn't come up with a new potion for a while now. She grabbed her pestle and started grinding various herbs and seeds. Soon, she had a black powder, Mari sniffed it. Then reeled away, wrinkling her nose. It smelt like sugar. No, like sugar topped with sugar that had been soaking in sugar! Still, Mari put it to the side, and grabbed a vial; she started up the bunsen burner; and started to boil water; slowly adding the powder into it, she corked the vial when all was said and done. Scribbling a note on it.

This would be useful for someone, surely.

Mari wanted to up her stock, and she didn't want to burn herself out on attempting naught but crystals. She had a new item in store, not only that but had stocked up a couple of said new item. She wasn't sure how useful it would be; or if it would even sell. She had a few things she wanted to get rid of. Like that blasted cheesecake curse, an order from an odd player dressed in blue, who never returned. "What a bother..." She mumbled. Perhaps that kid should use this potion to remember his forgotten order.

It was odd really, that anyone would buy such an item, and yet - she had sold several of them. Mari could only assume that people were out there; making each other depressed, perhaps scorned lovers or something. She shrugged as she quickly finished the potion, scrawling the description on it; she tossed it carelessly onto the pile of the other completed crafts for the day.

Mari quickly whipped up another crystal. Repeating the process yet again. It was a brilliant success. She smirked as she held it up to the light, shades of fractured soft blue scattered over her face. "Mmm, maybe you'll fetch me a pretty penny...no?" Mari asked as she placed it down, then pushed it so it rolled across the table to the pile of other crafts she had done today. So far, she had been pretty lucky with her crafting attempts.

It was a bad way to end the day's crafts, but at least she had a few high qaulity crystals out of it; hopefully she would be able to turn a bit of a profit. Especially with the upcoming boss battle that she still had to prepare for. Mari gave a deep sigh...looking at the materials for the next day.

As his material gathering trip came to an end Calrex dropped back into the Alchemic Contagion, giving another wave to Mari before swiping on his menu, producing the rest of the materials he was able to gather, "Hey Mari, here's the rest of what I was able to gather. Hopefully it'll keep you going for a while. I'll probably be making another trip in a few days, so feel free to let me know how much more you'd like me to get."
