[F1 - Alchemy Shop] Potions Plus Alchemy [currently closed for business]

Down the street from the center of town, sat a building with two giant glass windows, and a giant wooden door. The building looked elegant, it had a nice oak finish that covered the rest of the front of the store. Carved in the wood in the front of the store, read "Potions Plus Alchemy!" and below it in a finer print, "Your one stop shop for potions plus more!" which Sayre thought was relatively brilliant. The welcoming presence of the building juxtaposed all the other buildings around, and this was done entirely on purpose. Currently, there was a sign hanging on the front of the door, reading, "Closed for alchemy studies"

 

If one were to enter the front door, they would be less impressed. The inside was a pretty small square room, with a shop counter at the butt of it, and a large metal door on the ground behind the counter that opened to a staircase to the laboratory. The main room felt so small because there wasn't an inch of wall that wasn't touching some form of bookcase, they were littered everywhere inside the room, and even worse, the ground had books laying open as well. There were few vials and other chemical related things inside, because he preferred to keep that stuff in the laboratory. The floor was a cold, black stone, and the ceiling and walls were a reflection of the front of the store as it was that same beautiful oak finish.

As Sayre wasn't having any guests any time soon, the counter had a black journal laying open, reading his current studies, findings, and goals.

Sayre opened the lock to his giant metal door, and proceeded down the stairs into the dark, with his black notebook. Quickly realizing he didn't lock that door behind him, he whipped around, and locked that metal door so no one could take him by suprise. The creekiness of the wooden stairs bothered him, however he was on a mission. Sayre was nervous what was going to happen, weeks of research led him to this moment where he would try to make his first concoction. Fear wasn't something he really handled well, infact, as he proceeded down the stairs sweat began to roll off of his face. He approached his vials, his materials for alchemy, and began to do what he had researched so signficantly. He dropped some of his material into some vials, some into other, and swished them around. He grabbed a flash, and poured the two vials together, creating a brilliant red concoction. He then took the burner, and heated it slowly for 10 minutes, as he prepared his other recipe, this time, flash freezing what was left in the vials he poured from, and picking apart at it.

Sayre continued work in his laboratory. As he has now been going at it for 2 days straight, there were viles and flasks littered all over the dark basement. He didn't particuarly like being stuck down here all day, but considering he had to continue to persevere to level up the profession, it will pay off with Col and experience in no time. He also liked the quiet that he had, pouring over all his books, taking notes, and minding his own business was actually relatively rewarding. He did his usual work, and continued to mix chemicals into their designated viles, in hopes of making some sort of chemical reaction. He would then heat a few of them, and this time as he mixed them all into one flask it made a beautiful bright green color. Sayre wasn't upset about his results, however it didn't yield him anything amazing.

After that little bout of disappointment, Sayre returned to what he was doing, and that was mixing potions and grounding up materials that he had. It was a very elegant process he had, and in return for his process he hoped he would have a much better success rate that others. Sayre grabbed the ground up herbs, and swished them slowly into a mixture that he had brewing over the heater. As this was brewing, he ran over to his book and referenced some more information, and could then be seen slowly adding even more to his mess of stuff. The only motivation that kept him moving right now was the chance of leveling up if he had a really brilliant potion like he did before, and he felt pretty good about this mixture. He then took it off the heat, and slowly poured it over ice, watching it cool, eager to see what would follow. Sadly, it was a total failure, and it bubbled over and sat idle.

It's been a few days since Sayre has returned to his dungeon of alchemy, the large metal door swung open as he stepped down the creaking wooden stairs. A smile emerged from his face as he entered the vicinity, there was something amazing about being in this environment, the beauty of everything he had set up in the basement. He strolled over to his potions he had just slow cooking on the fire, and slowly began adding little herbs and spices to it, according to his book this was a pretty intensive potion that output a couple of different results. He watched as it bubbled, as he prodded it, slowly stirring at it to mix everything together. As the boil began to slow down, he lifted the pot off of it and began to pour it into his tubes, and then he waiting, hoping it would output what he wanted.

 

And oh boy, was Sayre rewarded for his efforts. Both crafts produced pretty nice results. Excited he referenced to his book, and wrote down the work that he did so he could reproduce it later.

Sayre got back in his happy place, and wanted to make more health potions. Considering all of the work that he has been putting into it, tirelessly day and night, he was confident that he may be able to output more this time around. Considering his level, and his ability in alchemy, he was going to start making 3 potions from here on out. He actually preferred making crystals, when it was time for him to open up shop he knew that they would fly off of the shelves, or they would potentially provide an awesome benefit for him. He began heating the materials that he needed, "what a tedious process....but a rewarding one.." he remarked, as he began moving things off of the burner and mixing various concoctions together, in aspiration of forming a few crystals after everything melted together.

Working with some empty crystals, he had two more shots to get some awesome results. He just leveled, so he had a far way to go before he could do even more than this stage. Heating the crystal over a Bunsen burner, he began pouring some various elements over it. With luck, when he was done, he would have the product of some awesome alchemy. When the crystal was a glowing ember, he took it in between two clamps, and dropped it inside a mixture he had put together. His efforts were wasted as his crystal shattered, he poured the remains of what was left into a vial and swished it around, as it turned a dim, pink color. He had seen a mixture like this before, and it was only going to prove to be a little bit of a waste of his time, but he was rewarded with just a little bit more experience.

After all the success he has been having lately, it was hard to accept the mediocrity that has been plaguing him in his basement here. This time, a little more aggressively, he sped through the process hoping he would be able to reproduce a crystal. He did everything exactly the same as usual, melting and pouring, and a lot of cooling with waiting. The results were extremely disappointing, he lifted the crystal out of the concoction, and watched as a crack slowly emerged from it. This meant bad news, as half of it slid off of the base and fell into the mixture he had below. Sad, he lifted out the broken crystal and tossed it into the trash, pouring the mixture into a vial once again, creating mediocrity.
