[SP-F2] Breaking the unbreakable (Complete)

Recommended Posts

Exploring the mountain region of floor two was pretty fun. Skylar was pretty lonely but he could still find the fun in situations.

*beep*     *beep*   Two beeps signaled a quest nearby. The only thing nearby was a giant rock in front of a mountain side. Giant rock? Why did that sound so familiar to Skylar. There was a quest about a rock needing to be broken but he thought it was finished already. Skylar opened his command menu and looked at the quest. "I should accept it and see what it is about." Skylar accepted the quest before skipping over to check out the rock.

Skylar skipped over to the rock. As he got closer to the rock he noticed it was pretty green. That was fine and all till tendrils picked up he leg and help him in the air. "I have seen enough Hentai to know this will not end well" on the other side of the rock was a flower with some eerie blood red petals. Of course it was a blood flower, a monster that waits in a place to ambush travelers and eat them.

The blood flower used the vine to slam Skylar into the ground. The shock shook his brain a little and made him a bit to stunned to move.

Skylar had a hard time gathering his wits about him. The blood vine rattled him about a little "Stupid Weed!" Skylar yelled at the plant. It was probably not a good idea because the bud moved in his direction. For an object without a face Skylar could tell he pretty much pissed it off.

The plant went for another slam. This time Skylar was a bit to fast as he reached his dagger and cut himself down. He rolled when he hit the ground and got to his feet.

Skylar ran for the flower part. In order to avoid being eaten you must either run and hope it does not catch you or lob the head of the blood vine off. Skylar went for the later, he leapt in order to stab it.

Skylar got close enough to stab it in the main body. He would have done more damage if it was not for the fact a vine came and knocked him backwards. The force was enough to knock him backwards and into the cliff side. The damage was pretty bad but luckily he healed a bit.

"That hurt, you cow food!" Skylar was not really good at insulting people, plants, or things in general. He especially did not like damage being caused to himself. He barely had enough time to peel himself of the side, when a huge vine came surging his way.

Skylar reacted on instinct he threw his dagger and hoped for a miracle. A miracle happened and the dagger sailed straight into the open flower part of the blood vine. The blood vine bashed about in obvious pain. A root came out of the ground causing a bit of a rock slide. One rock bonked Skylar square on the head.

Skylar rubbed his head a second as the pain registered to him. It did hurt and this is the first and by far hardest battle he has ever been in. It would be smart of him to focus. He went to grab his dagger when he realized it was not there. Of course it was stuck in the blasted plant.

Skylar ran towards to the Blood Vine defenseless. He was a martial artist in the real world he could do it. He could feel it. He jumped and lashed out with his left foot, kicking the blood vine right in the flower. The blood vine responded with tripping him on a root making him fall to the side.

Skylar was getting tired of this blasted plant. "You are so going down you nasty little grass on steroids" yes, that was the best he had to insult the plant with. He had a shelter life and he never learned how to insult people. Than again he never really needed to since most people naturally felt insulted by him. Skylar ran as fast as his pixilated legs could run.

MD: Not really important seeing as how it is dead.

Skylar felt strong he leaped straight into the deadly flower/mouth of the Blood Vine, using his energy he grabbed onto his dagger and dragged down with all his might. The flower burst into shards of blue and dissipated. "Darn weed did not even leave me any loot really" Skylar was fuming a lot.

Skylar was covered in some nasty stuff. It was wet in a weird slimy way, and it slightly tingled on his skin. He would have to make sure he got this all off later. Skylar walked up to the rock to check it out. It was big and very misshapen. It could not be unbreakable SAO may be a pain but it was at least gave them a fight chance. This must be more of a puzzle then anything then. "What to do with you eh"

"Wait! What is it that Sensei always said 'everything has a weak point" that must be it. Skylar looked at the rock pretty closely and noticed crisscrossing cracks almost a hairs length in width.  "If I hit the rocks in exact spots the cracks should be able to connect causing the rock to break itself apart" Judging by how big the rock is and small the cracks are he knew this would take some time.

Skylar tried peering around the rock for the biggest crack he could find. The only one he found so far was the one he first discovered. Skylar pulled back his fist and tried punching it dead in the center. He blinked causing his fist to veer to the left, throwing off the entire punch. His fist hit the rock and stung. Luckily his health did not drop but it was ridiculously hurtful.

Skylar prepped up to try again, He was throwing the punch when he sneezed. On reflex he brought his brought his hands up to cover his mouth and socked himself in the eye. That actually hurt more then when he tried punching the rock. Then again was it supposed to be a pleasant feeling to punch yourself. If it was Skylar was doing it wrong because that was not pleasant at all.

Skylar made a fist and sat down. He had to take a break it was pretty hot here. Taking some water he kept with him since he first got here he took a swig. He felt like playing his guitar but he left that at his shop for the moment. Still he stayed calm and rested a bit in the shade.

For Skylar this quest may be harder then he first thought. Haigu tried teaching him the value of patient but he never actually payed attention to it. He stood up from his short rest to try again at the rock. Look for a weakness then strike, the golden rule to live by. He watched the crack, he felt the crack, he became the crack. He balled up his fist and punched. It actually hit above the crack, how did he miss the crack was a wonder for Skylar.

"Come on. I know I can do this. It is about focus hit the crack on the on the boulder" Skylar was pumping himself up, getting excited so the fake adrenaline could flow. It was more of a psychological thing then actual changes in his body. He may be a rich kid from a business smart Hawaiian family, but he was also a proud martial artist. Instead of punching he lifted his leg up to his head, then brought it down with smashing force on the rock with his heel smash technique. The rock shuddered a little as cracks appeared more on the surface.

Skylar squealed in excitement! He actually did it, he cracked the rock. Still he had a ways to go before any real damage could be done, this was one really tough rock to crack. Skylar checked out the new cracks he made in the boulder. One spot looked particularly liked a weak. "Here goes nothing" lifting his leg up to align the kick as before, he dropped his heel into the crack. The boulder made another little rumble and the crack got longer. No new ones appeared but this one got pretty big.

Skylar felt powerful. He was acing this quest as if it was a simple equation of multiplying polynomials in an algebraic equation. Surprisingly child's play when one simply learns to pay attention. Skylar moved to the first crack he made and examined it. If he hit it successfully here it should be able to connect with the second crack. Skylar opened his palms, crouched, and placed his weight on his hind leg. He rushed forward with his palm to deliver a palm strike to the crack. The crack got hit dead on. The rock splintered little bits off as the two cracks connected.

It was pretty dusty out with all the rock bits flying about. His last attack managed to hit the rock causing damage. The continuous successful attacks left him a bit tired. Still he had to finish this before it got dark. Fighting monsters without being able to see left him at a large disadvantage in the dark. Still he stood back up, he may not be the strongest but he will fight till his last HP. He threw a straight punch at the crack to no avail. He probably did not hit hard enough.

The dusty air around Skylar did not do anything to improve his mood. Still the desire to keep moving forward was strong. Skylar got close to the crack to increase his aim. He pulled his fist back and punched it right in the middle with as much force as he could muster. The rock showed no sign of moving except crack enlargement.

From this point on Skylar was starting to run out of steam. It was getting pretty dark and spending all day to crack one rock did not bode well for him, still he tried his hardest to break this blasted rock. He jumped to gain a little bit of power before swinging out his heel in an arcing motion to break the rock. He was a bit too tired to pay attention as his heel missed the mark completly. As frustrating as it was Skylar will not loose to an inanimate object that did not even try to kill him.

Determined not to be out done by a boulder Skylar tried again to no avail. His was getting very upset again, so instead of trying to go for something flashy he just straight up punched it. The rock shuddered and heaved convulsing all over, it did not break, but one more well placed hit should be enough to break it to bits. All he had to do was aim just right.

Skylar was ready. He had to focus all of his strength into his fist in order to pull of this attack. It would decide everything, his life, his journey, even the very fate of sword art online. He was being dramatic but still it helped if he believed the stakes for everything were high.

Skylar jumped into the air "This time I got you! You stupid rock!"

He dropped his heel in a succesful heel drop and heard the impact.
