Feb 28-

 

The weather on the plains where pretty good, a gently breeze blowing cooling the shop with a nice air to it. Skylar wanted more products to be available when he opened shop so he went to the back to record. He was thinking of a ballad today

The music flowed wonderfully with his new guitar. It was a beautiful song that flowed into the recording crystal as if water into a bottle, it was perfect.

He tried to do a song he had never done before a more upbeat one compared to the ballads he normally did. It came out okay, just well enough to be usable.

March 1-

It was a new day and Skylar felt specially inspired. Seeing as how today is a new day why not try something different to go along with his music.

Skylar set the recording crystal and went with something more punk rock-ish today. He plucked a couple of notes sang then went foe the rift. The crystal turned black and shattered. Apparently punk rock was not his forte.

Not to be phased by one small mishap he decided to try again. He would prove he is the master of punk rock or die trying. This time ended more badly then the first. The crystal turned black and exploded with a little more force this time.

March 2-

 

Today everyone would learn that Skylar is the master of Punk rock. He took out Fleur De Lavin for a few practice strums before getting ready.

 

Attempt 1

He strummed and play like he never played before. It may be punk rock but he will practice till me made perfect. He can tell he was getting better because the recording crystal only smoked grey. It did not turn black or explode this time. He was able to erase the song by blowing onto the crystal to get the bad music out.

Skylar was getting a bit emotional before reminding himself to calm down. He breathed in through the nose and out through the mouth. Before he tried to continue. He tried and it surprisingly worked the crystal turned brown an uncommon color for a punk rock song but it worked.

March 8-

 

It was feeling very nice out today. Skylar missed his shop. Being away for a few days unable to play music made him feel a bit lonely. He went to the back and picked up Fleur and strummed a bit, listening to the sweet sound.

Skylar grabbed a recording crystal from the front and went to the back. He strummed and sang remembering the familiar embrace of his instrument. How good it felt to be one with his music and lyrics. The crystal seemed to hum with the music around it. It turned a lovely pink that seemed to sparkle. "I think I will keep this one" the crystal spoke to him like it was his heart.

If felt good to be recording again. Why stop now? He went to the front of the shop to grab another recording crystal. He loved to play and tried another song. The music filled the studio serenely. This one was more peaceful than the actual uplifting sweetness of the first. It was just as beautiful in its own way. The crystal turned a sparking turquoise it must be another perfect item.

March 9-

 

Beautiful as always here in the plains Skylar felt some inspiration for his music. It was always a peaceful place just rarely opened to the public. Well actually not opened to the public yet. Maybe it would be a good idea to start opening up and getting some customers here.

Skylar grabbed his recording crystal and headed to the studio. He started playing like he always do to run the song recording program. It started of well but quickly rolled down hill. He was not as focused on his music thinking about guests. It showed when the crystal turned pitch black and shattered. It was a horrible waste.

Skylar moved to grab another crystal and made a note to buy or earn some more. Without the crystals he would be unable to level up in his profession. He needed to level up in order to make better songs. "No focus!" He told himself. He let his mind wander and started the program without thinking. This time the music was perfect. It permeated the room and condensed into the crystal perfectly. Giving it that sparkling sheen of a perfect song.

March 10-

 

It was nice that Skylar went up in rank but very unfortunate too. He was down to his last recording crystal and he had to make it count. Healing songs would be nice to do at this time but are extremely difficult. The risk of blowing up his last crystal was extremely high but it was something that must be done. He grabbed his last recording crystal and headed to the back where his studio was located.

 

Attempt 1-

Skylar picked up Fleur and opened the song recording program. His thoughts always transferred over to his music. This time he was nervous he wanted all his friends to come from this battle alive and alright. He would risk neck and limb to keep his own comrades from dying but he was not strong enough to help. The only thing he could do is prepare for the next one. That would not keep someone from dying this time. Skylar knew he had to make this song work for all the people that participated in this battle. He needed them to live and make it back safe, if not he will be very lonely. Skylar opened his eyes not even realizing he was done playing until he noticed the sparkling crystal in front of him.

First Attempt was a success one perfect Mass HP recovery song was made. He lost his last Mat so crafts are done for now. (8 XP gained)

[Mari 1]

Mari decided to visit this 'new' performer shop. She used to be one herself, back before the professions got a scheduled upgrade. But she took her chance to switch to a more...profitable profession. As Mari entered the store she noticed it was small and quaint. Everything in neat little rows.

Mari glanced over the wares; picking up a sparking green crystal, the colour of Emeralds. Mari read the effect and description. Good, its what she wanted. Mari wanted to attempt to get her familiar before the boss fight; and this would help. 

The pink haired Pker approached the counter, placing the crystal on it, along with a sack of Col. Waiting for someone to come; the prices were on the pricey side. Mari normally wouldn't waste her Col on such expensive wares; but she was in a hurry. She would simply have to make a mental note to go elsewhere in the future.

It was his first visitor and Skylar was pumped. She looked very familiar maybe a guild mate of his from the meeting. The pink hair looked so freaking familiar. Still she seemed like a nice person already being a pk'er and all.

 

Skylar skipped over and examined her purchase. "Voice of Nature huh, that is one song that will come in handy. Seeing as how you are my first customer and all I will give you a discount. Now the normal price is 1,100 Col but I will take of 400. So your total is 700 Col only." Skylar smiled broadly at the pink haired guest. "Will that be all?

[Mari 1]

Mari blinked, glancing around - "First customer eh?" She asked. "I used to be a Performer - got no business." She said matter-of-factly. "I'd hope you get more than me, but with your current prices that may not go down so well." Mari tapped her finger on the counter; unsure of why she was bothering to help this kid. "Test the waters with lower prices, if demand increases - increase those prices." Mari gave a shrug.

"or not. Tis your store."

She took the sack of Col and took out 400,  leaving 700 col behind. She slid the bag over to him and pocketed the crystal. "That's all for now, " Mari said as she turned to leave his store. Just before exiting she turned her head over her shoulder. 

"Thanks for the discount." And with that; she was gone

March- 12

 

It has definitely been a while since the last time Skylar could play. Going on quests and collecting supplies for his shop was fun and all, he just missed the warmth of this place that kind of felt like his home. His shop may not be the busiest but it was his and that was all that was needed. Skylar picked up Fleur from the back room and gave his guitar a strum to warm up, and boy did that feel good.

Skylar grabbed a recording crystal and started humming. This time he really did not try too hard just played what felt natural to him at the moment. The recording crystal pinged as he finished up. The crystal had a slight gleam to it, not perfect but close enough.

The next crystal Skylar grabbed looked a bit damaged but he still believed it was usable. He opened up the crystal and started to play everything went perfectly well. Skylar picked it up and noticed the inside coloring was gray. The quality was no good, most likely because of the damage he would have to start over and trash this crystal.

March 14- 

 

It felt nice to relax a bit inside his shop, life was hard every where he went outside of it. Still having Rutta with him made it a lot easier. Skylar looked at the leopard in question, sunning itself in front of the store window, For a beast that grew up in the snow and ice, it had no problem with heat. Except it may become lazier then usual. Skylar grabbed a crystal from the storage compartment. "Rutta watch the shop!" The leopard responded by rolling over.

The backroom smelled nice. Like everything Skylar loved about this world condensed into one. He opened up the recording crystal and started the musical melody. He had a lot to think about which really distracted from the music. It was not bad or good really either just more meh. Luckily it did not explode so that was a good sign. He probably would not get that much for it.

The second song he tried filling with thoughts instead of memories. He wanted the song to me something special to him as well as others. It was song to everyone that has ever loved and ever will love. It was pure and sweet and amazingly complex. By the time he finished Rutta was sitting and staring at him. Skylar wiped the sweat of his brow and peeked at the crystal. It was shiny but not sparkly, really good quality but not overly helpful.

March 19-

Skylar had to get pretty serious. According to some news he got a new performer was in town. He did not mind much but he did not want someone to start poaching his audience. Skylar did not take to kindly to that. Normally he would only do two projects a day but he had to kick it up!

Skylar started strumming. Hey that was a good one, Skylar Strum it could be a title. Still he had to focus! He took out a crystal and started the recording process. The music hall filled with sound. He was trying rock again, he always wanted to master it. Skylar was not good at all, he stopped when he noticed the crystal turn smokey gray. It was a failure, he blew in the crystal to clean it out. It worked and the material got cleaned.

 

Attempt 2-

He reused the previous crystal for another round of rock and roll. By now everyone should know he is not good at the rock or roll. The crystal turned blacker than the heart of the maker of this game. It burst and the data dissipated. It was always an annoyance to loose mats but it was something that had to be done.

It may be considered bad luck to keep playing but he did it any way. He grabbed a crystal noting he got a messaged. Apparently some new materials came in for him. That was good he would need them later. He went to the room and tried to sing Aerosmith it was a bad idea. The crystal erupted so fast, the shards would have slashed them if they did not digitize.

May 18-

 

Attempt 1-

It was a while since Skylar last played his music. He grabbed his guitar and plucked a few notes on it. Still sounded great as usual. So he moved into a song. He really needed to get his musical skill level up as soon as possible. The crystal recorded the music and it was a good song. Skylar did not put all his heart into it but it came out in a nice green color.

The next song Skylar tried to record just burst in seconds.

Skylar tried again wanting to get back in the rhythm of his music. The  music left his hear recently and he is trying so hard to get it back. This attempt was as successful as the last. To say not at all.

Skylar put away the failed materials and took out another crystal. The only sound in the halls were the sound of his strumming and the soft singing from his lips. The crystal failed at the recording and burst into data.

The music was speaking today! Skylar had not felt that excited about playing in a while but today he was.

Playing was great he felt the rhythm and sang a song he sung in real life. It was a lullaby his mother sang. It was sweet and filled with love. After he finished he checked out the quality and noticed a perfect crystal. He put it in his bag as a memento of his mother.

Playing a song with emotion tend to drain his SP faster. Whenever that happened the fatigue set in. Still even while tired he  managed to rock out a good tune on his guitar. The crystal he made was nice but did not have that perfect gleam to it.

He was tired. So why would he attempt a third song was beyond him. He barely started the program before the crystal burst.

Maybe he should stop playing. Even if he really did not want too. The crystal blackened but did not actually burst. He was able to blow on it to save it for later use.

It was pretty early in the morning and Skylar woke up ready to play.

 

Attempt 1-

Playing this early in the morning always has certain hazards. This morning was no different his voice cracked as soon as he opened his mouth to sing. The crystal turned a smokey grey at the sound of the voice slip before the data burst. Skylar hated wasting material but it was already gone.

At this point Skylar was a little more awake and Rutta came out to get some attention. Skylar gave him a scratch behind the ears before moving back to his guitar. With his last crystal on the ground he began to play. Rutta was determined to not be ignored and wrecked Skylar's concentration. The crystal burst and Skylar lost the last material he had.

"I must have some supplies somewhere." Skylar checked all around for some crystals. " My inventory says I should have a couple."

Rutta growled in the corner before coming over to drop three vials at his feet. "You used them as a chew toy, how could you! God I hope they are not broken."

The crystal lasted about five seconds before it exploded. "Man, Rutta I blame all of this on you." He was pretty upset that he lost precious materials so quickly. Recording crystals are hard to come by as it is, going all the way to the harsh environment of the fourth floor was a pain."Time to try again"

Skylar started to strum again. It was always the best when Fleur was in his hands. The guitar was great at helping him calm down. Skylar remembered Clarence, recently he has been thinking about the guy so much. While playing the love in his heart started making his cheeks pink and the crystal turned the same shade. It did not have the perfect shine but it was prefect to him.
