Skylar 0 Posted March 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Skylar was walking in the meadows by starting city. The wind was breezy messing up his hard to tame dreadlocks in a way that made it look more like a nest. Not that Skylar complained about it. "Hmmmm" He was humming to himself perfectly content with the world when a butterfly floated past him. It was Orange with black dots and a black trim on the wings. It was obviously the monarch butterfly he read about in his books. He stared at it not realizing he was following it, when the butterfly started to move.
Riksis 0 Posted March 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Rikimaru, or his moniker Riksis, had been stuck in the game for a few days now. He had just recently gotten over the shock and awe of the whole ordeal. His father had given him the Nerve Gear as a present for his above average performance at the hospital. Never in his wildest dreams would he had thought that he would get stuck in the game. But the second the red game master in the sky appeared, he knew it wouldn't be anything good. Riksis had been sulking in the starting city for a couple of days simply taking in both the scenery and his own emotions. Some players had started grinding right off the bat when they learned they where stuck, others simply quit all together. He was not going to quit, he had too much self respect for that. He had to get off his ass and do something. He swung his legs over the bed he had rented last night. He was tired, not physically, but emotionally. But he had to do something, he knew he had to. Swiping his finger down, the menu opened. He flicked down to equipment and put on his normal attire. Since he had only just started he had only the basics. He wore a black long sleeved shirt under a leather shoulder holster that held his one handed spear. His bottoms where a dark blue fabric tucked into black boots. Starter clothes for a starter player. Opening the door Riksis was greeted by a few laughs and general talking. All players had not lost their cheer. Walking down the hall and down the steps he saw a couple of fellow players cheering drinks. They looked to be new players, albeit not as new as him. They actually had armour made of metal, some wore capes and other ornate clothing. Something you don't buy unless you have leftover Col lying around. This indicated they where well off at the least, though not high leveled. He walked past them and through the door. His aim was to explore the meadow beyond the starting city. A lust forest filled with low leveled monsters. He had to get some experience and get out of the lower floors. The starting city was still populated, most had an indifferent expression. Those that where with others had smirks and smiles. A few looked outright suicidal. Within a few minutes he was to the towns gates where he unsheathed his spear and lied it leisurely on his right shoulder, holding it by the bottom with his right hand. The meadow was an hours walk from the starting town, a brisk walk saw him to it in an appropriate time. The sun was still high in the sky, but the meadow filtered the light through it's lush leaves casting a shadow over the entirety of the meadow. In the distance Riksis could see another player, it seemed he was lost in thought following a butterfly. Riksis was always a reserved and calculating person. Although he did not always think the worst of every situation, he would always be ready for them. He had heard the stories of orange player killers and bandits and he would not be their next pray. Riksis took his spear from its position on it's shoulder and held it by it's grip, tip pointing down. He called out to the player, "Hey, you lost or something?" He would stand put and see what the other player did, offering a kind smile masking any distrust.
CidneyBear 0 Posted March 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Cidney was in her hotel room, in the corner, rocking back in forth in a old, creaky, rocking chair. It went back and forth as Cidney stared past, at the wall, in tears. The game had gotten to her and so many others- She did not want to die so young, like so many others had already. Turning to look at the little clock by the bed, the time read: '10:00 A.M'. Cidney had to get up and go get a meal. The place she was currently staying at was free but very lame. The breakfast, on the other hand, was actually alright. Waffles, waffles, and waffles, it was everything she could even imagine! As she chowed down on some waffles and yogurt, she pulled out a little sketchbook, and began to draw a little sketch of something she was not sure of. As the image Cidney was sketching began to become more apparent, it was a bunch of crystals exploding into several millions of shards, indicating that someone or something had died. What would happen if I actually left the town? Would I leave to be killed? Or would I become the best player in the game? Cidney began to think of her favorite game she had ever played, Final Fantasy Three. When someone died, you always had a Phoenix Down in your inventory or a temple to revive the player. But in this cursed game all there was was death......And when you died, there was no coming back. Ever. Cidney finished off her breakfast and began to walk around the town, completely bored. She did not know what to do. What would she do? No one in the game liked her. So what would happen if she did die? "Hey......Um....Anyone want to form a party? Maybe a large one, preventing death?" But no one could hear Cidney's shy and quiet voice. She slowly continued to stroll through the city streets, looking at all the NPC stores and stands. If what she needed to keep herself alive was a new weapon, but she did not have any col, but to col you would have to fight monsters, and if Cidney fought monsters, She thought she would undoubtedly die. So, to not die, she needed one of the items that required her to die before she could get them. Well that sucks! I was hoping I could find my way into this game a bit easier...................Cidney left the stand without another thought about death. I will not die. No matter what! Cidney's sea blue eyes were visible from every angle, with the little teardrop falling from the left eye. Cidney actually gripped her thoughts together long enough to walk over to the gate. Cidney would not exit the gate, for fear of death. In the distance, Cidney saw two players, in which one was chasing a butterfly it seemed. Well that looks fun.............But I could never risk death for a butterfly. Would I? Cidney backed a bit away from the gate, knowing anyone could simply shove her and Cidney would be in a deadly situation. Cidney now had her spear in her hands, but she did not want to leave. Walking a bit closer to the gate, she took her foot, and shoved it out but quickly brought it back into the city's gates, and fell to the floor while teardrops began to form in her eyes again. Why........ Why am I so scared of leaving the Town of Beginnings? Why are so many of us like that? "Why am I!" Cidney exclaimed quietly as tears continued to droop from her eyes. Maybe I could leave? After a few minutes, Cidney finally stood up again, and looked out of the town at the two players again. Maybe I could just go play with the butterfly with these two players and come back quickly............Cidney almost walked outside of the gates for once when she pulled to a stop. Cidney could not go. She would not go. So, instead, Cidney sat by the gate, looking at the two other players, seeing if either of them would notice her. Cidney needed help to get herself through this nightmare, or this game would devour her. The game would chow down on her soul, then dispose the remains into the real world, for all to see.... But for no one to care. No one ever loved or cared for her that much besides her mother in the real world, and no one in this game cared for her period. Maybe Cidney would find her true love in this death game though................Will I?
Skylar 0 Posted March 2, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Skylar was someone who would often be considered to be very stupid. It was never the case but it could till be pretty hurtful. The stranger that approached him was wearing a mask. Not like something to actually hide his face but more of a trying to hide how he truly felt. Skylar noticed the change in the spear position, the dude was wearing it then switched it to his hand. Skylar looked the dude dead in the eye, noting his power level and position. Before he relaxed a level one player would hardly be anything to sweat about, so why worry. "No, I am actually not lost I was just following the butterfly" Skylar pointed at the Orange and Black thing. The butterfly started to fly away alerted to the humans around it. "Come on you can follow it too if you want" Skylar turned his back on the guy and continued to chase after the butterfly.
Riksis 0 Posted March 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2015 OOC: Canonly you wouldn't be able to see my level unless I partied up with you. IC: The other player didn't seem to reciprocate his faked kindness. Instead he was a bit cold, not spiteful, nonchalantly. The orange and black butterfly flew ahead at the sound of Rikimaru's voice. No rouge orange player popped up behind him to slit his throat. No bandit crew held him up for his money and items, it seemed the worst case scenario wouldn't happen. The other player responded to him, inviting him to follow the butterfly with him before turning his back and following the winged insect. He seemed an alright player at first glance. He was moderately outfitted, it seemed a few levels above Rikimaru but enough that he still couldn't leave the lower floors. Without a word he would follow a few paces behind the mystery player. Although the immediate threat of being robbed and killed had passed but monsters where another danger. He would rather this player take the starting aggro than himself. Looking over his shoulder to the opening of the meadow he saw the outline of another player standing there, simply looking. She saw him and he saw her, she looked as if she was waiting for him to make the first move. Still following the first player he gestured for her to follow by waving her over. Although himself and his new acquaintance would have disappeared into the forest and well beyond earshot of the new player before she could catch up. Closing the gap between the first player he initiated a conversation, still keeping him in front of Rikimaru. "If that butterfly is part of a quest you should share it with me. I'm not going to help you for free." It was a bit forward, sure, but that was what Rikimaru was known for. He needed to level up more than anything, and questing with another person was the safest bet. "By the way, i'm Riksis."
CidneyBear 0 Posted March 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Cidney sat with her mouth gaped wide when the player ushered her nearer, out into the wilds of floor one. But there was no possible way she was going to leave this gate alone, but she might have with someone's help. But Cidney could not leave her post by the gate no matter what until she was pushed and pushed by someone. Cidney would not leave, even though the butterfly looked really cute to Cidney. What shall I do? Cidney looked out at the players again, and took her foot, stomping it back out of the safe zone. Almost immediately after, Cidney's feet came flying back into the safety of the biggest and most populous safe zone in Sword Art Online. But when Cidney thought about the reasons to go, and the reasons not to go, she came to this exact conclusion: How in the name of......How......How did I end up in this death game? Why did I end up as the shy one? Wasn't I supposed to be the brave one, the woman leading the raids on the highest of floors? Shouldn't that be me? Is that me? Would that have been me if I weren't on floor one, being scared of everything anyone could be scared of. Why was I........ Cidney sat on the bench by the gate, hoping the two players-who she now knew were guys, even though that did not matter- would come to help her. But maybe she did not want help, maybe she did. Do I? Why in the world am I never sure on these kind of things! Why do I keep asking myself questions? Why, I ask you Cidney, why! Cidney's spear was gripped well in her hand as she sat on the bench, but soon enough her face was in her hands, as the tears streamed down her face. What is up with...... What is up with..... What is up with me! Her mind jogged through the real life world, and she knew she had to escape from this world of death. But Cidney had yet to leave the safe zone, and without major counselling help, Cidney would most likely never leave the safe zone of floor one. Well actually, she may visit other floor's main cities, but how would she ever view battle? Cidney needed help, whether these players could help her with her problem, Cidney could not know. She could only hope. I can only hope that these two....................These two will be the ones that bring back my courage. My courage, that has fallen down into the deepest part of the Greek Underworld. The courage that had token an accidental journey into Tarturus. And I will need help venturing into the Underworld to reclaim my courage, the other quarter portion of my soul that was missing. I need it!
Skylar 0 Posted March 7, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Skylar ignored the guy for a second to actually check his quest map. Does this butterfly lead to a quest? Like hell he knew but it would be fun to find out. "You know I am not actually sure what it leads too but we can go on an adevture for now." No sooner after he said that the quest logged beeped. "Never mind there is a quest apparently! the quest is called 'Secret medicine of the forest' I guess we have to find something" Skylar looked over the bare minimum details before hitting accept. "If you want you are more then free to join me on this quest." The details did not seem really hard but traveling in groups usually seemed more beneficial. You never know if a monster wanted to sneek up behind you and take your head off. Groups kept a monster from sneaking up on your back.
Riksis 0 Posted March 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2015 The player seemed to just be relaxing while in the forest, like having a leisurely stroll through the forest. The butterfly was obviously out of the ordinary for the forest fauna. It seemed to 'lead' him, more or less. It would slow down so he could keep pace with it but it would also speed up as to not be too close to them."Never mind there is a quest apparently! the quest is called 'Secret medicine of the forest' I guess we have to find something" Riksis smirked as he heard the words. Finally, he could level safely and get a quest done in the process. "If you want you are more then free to join me on this quest." "Well that would require this." Riksis said as he sent the player a part invite. "Like i said, i'm not helping for free." Riksis would wait until he accepted the party invite before continuing to follow the player. He needed to know what kind of quest he was getting himself into.
Skylar 0 Posted March 10, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted March 10, 2015 "Sure no problem" Skylar accepted the party request without that much of a second thought. "I do not mind the help, I could solo but doing things with others are a lot more fun. My name is Skylar by the way." He smiled widely in excitement before extending his hand to be shaken. Riksis seemed like a nice guy, then again everyone seemed nice to Skylar he was not one to judge others. Still Riksis looked more noobish then he did, so he would not be worried about being overtaken in a fight. So far everyone here on SAO are actually really sweet people that helped him out and kept him alive. "So how about we leave this area and head to the forest?"
Riksis 0 Posted March 11, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 11, 2015 The new player both joined his party and shared the quest he was pursuing. As he clicked the confirm button a second health bar appeared below Riksis's reading: 'Skylar Lv 6'. Riksis pulled up the qest titled: 'Secret Medicines' and read over how to complete it while Skylar introduced himself. "Well I'm Riksis, as you can see. Let's get out of here, i need to level up." ."I think the exit is just up this way", Riksis said as he pointed ahead of them.
Skylar 0 Posted March 12, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted March 12, 2015 "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" Skylar moved to where Riksis was pointing. " I suggest you get ready these mobs may not be too nice" Skylar got ready and moved deeper into the forest before he continued to explain. "The little mobs are not so bad and can easily be killed. There is not that many of them so fighting should not be hard. The hard part is fighting the big boss! But it really only awakens when the little ones are down. So it may not be a hard fight but it will get repetitive. So keeping healed would be smart."
Riksis 0 Posted March 18, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 18, 2015 Riksis gave a nod to his new partner. "Got it." He was too new to the game to have any healing items but that didn't worry him much. He had a bit of experience fighting the smaller mods. Plus, Skylar was a few levels above him, more than enough to take on anything they needed. Riksis walked over to the clearing where the forest ended. Outside was the wasp breeding ground and the sight of their battle. Riksis readied his spear, extending his free hand, pointing to the clearing. "Experience before beauty."
Skylar 0 Posted March 23, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted March 23, 2015 ID:13355 BD: 2 + 1 Skylar peered out it was only three wasps in the clearing they were all small so it should be easy for the two of them two deal with. The big issue would be the big momma that would come for them. Still he rushed to the nearest one a lashed out with his left leg. The wasp was actually not as slow as it seemed, it moved buzzing out of the way. "Yeah this may be harder then first believed." Riksis 0 Posted March 25, 2015 #14 Share Posted March 25, 2015 ID:13480 Battle:3 Mob:3(-1)=2 Riksis aimed at the one closes to the forest clearing. Charging it with his spear. The wasp, being much faster than him, buzzed around as Riksis poked at it, aggravating it more than harming it.The wasp, fed up with him, launched an attack of his own. It flew in a arch, it's stinger poised and ready to stab into him. Riksis jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding becoming skewered on it's tip. "Yeah, you're right. Fast fuckers."
