Teayre 0 Posted March 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Wandering around Horunka, Teayre kicks a pebble along the dirt trodden path. Her hands in her pockets whilst she's muttering to herself. "Damn that Calrex, leaving me behind. Why does he need to go on ahead for a bit anyway?" Sighing she sits down drawing a circle in the dust, slowly she begins to draw a couple of lines in it. "I wish I'd at least known where he went, I mean I don't know if he's safe or anything... It can't be that bad can it?" Standing up she stretches, her joints making an audible pop. "Ahhh that's much better... I'm surprised I'm not getting any weird looks for talking to myself about random stuff..." Scuffing out her drawing she heads back to Starting City, making her way to the merchant quarters she starts looking around at various shops and stuff. "You know, I wonder if I'd be any good at the tailoring in this game... I used to do a fair bit when I was back in my real life..." Looking up she finds a clothing store, dipping into the store she takes a look around. A fairly old man was at the desk, he had a smile on his face with glasses that sat on the edge of his nose, his green waist coat fitting snugly around him. "Heya, I'm Teayre, I was wondering you wouldn't happen to know how I learn to be a tailor in this game would you?" "Why my dear, I do I'm one of the many tailor trainers here would you be interested in learning?" The familiar screen popped up asking if she'd like to accept the quest <Earning-A-Living> pressing the circle button to accept it, she listens as the old man continues his story. Teayre 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted March 4, 2015 "You see m'dear there are various professions in this game Tailor, Blacksmith, Alchemist, Cook amongst many others. Each of them have various ranks." Holding up his index finger the old man continues. "The first thing anyone of you must do is complete the appropriate <Earning a Living> quest, which you have accepted already by allowing me to talk to you and explain to you. Now on this quest I'll show you the basics of gathering materials and show you how to craft things, through my shop here." Gesturing behind him before he raises a second finger. "Then once all that is done, the second thing you need to do is open your own shop, now it can only be on a floor that you have access to so keep that in mind, also think about where you are having the shop, as you're likely to be in there a lot except when you are out gathering materials" Three fingers now raised how continued his speech. "Thirdly once you've followed the necessary process for crafting your item, it is generated with a random set of stats." Peering over his glasses at Teayre, he looks her in the eyes. "Any questions so far m'dear?" Teayre who was now sat cross legged in front of the man, listening attentively to each word he said. "N... No sir, It makes sense, I finish this quest, learn my profession, collect materials, open up a shop, craft some items and then sell said items to players, then rinse and repeat." Teayre 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Flexing his hand he puts his fingers down before crossing his arms and looking Teayre in the eyes. "Right m'dear, let's look at the first point I mentioned. The quest, which by accepting from me I presume you wish to become a tailor, is this correct?" The confirmation window popped up in front of Teayre, pressing the circle button to accept and confirm what she wanted. Waiting for the old man to continue she leans back on her hands. "Right then, first off if material gathering or 'mat farming' or whatever you want to call it, what ways do you think are available to you for farming your mats?" Waiting a moment before replying, Teayre hunches over put a finger on her lips and her thumb on her chin. "Well I'm guessing from mob drops and potentially from random loot?" "You are correct, but there is one more way you can gather materials." Stopping for a second the old man scratches his receding beard. "The other way is by taking this quest again, however you can't learn another profession from it at the moment, only collect materials. However this option is only available when you have run out of materials to collect, understand?" "I... I think so, if I have no more materials to use I can retake this quest in order to get some more." Cocking her head to one side, she then asks. "I have no materials at the moment so what how are we going to get the materials to show me how to craft." "Well that is the next part m'dear, come on jump up now. We're going to go kill a couple or wolves or more specifically you are whilst I watch. In order to get the materials for the crafting." Standing the old man begins to walk around the counter, leaning against the counter as he gets round it he holds his hand out. "I'm Suko by the way, it's a pleasure to meet you." Jumping up she takes the old man's hand, smiling at the old man with her eyes closed. "It's nice to meet you Suko-Ossan, I'm Teayre." "Very well Teayre-chan, let's be on our way then" With that Suko moves towards the door holding it open for Teayre who then passes through as they make their way to the entrance to Starting City. Teayre 0 Posted March 5, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted March 5, 2015 "Right lets craft something simple to start with, say a cloak, what materials would you need for a cloak m'dear?" "My guess would some fur, and then some simple wool or cotton." Patting Teayre on the back Suko continues. "Correct! Now there are two ways of gather herbs one is through combat with mobs which is a guaranteed drop and the other is through gathering them yourself by say shearing a sheep for wool this has less of a chance of dropping a material, so which one would you rather do?" Leaning against the gate, she tilts her head at Suko waiting a minute or so before answering. "I think I'd prefer combat myself Suko-Ossan, it seems to be what I'm better at." "Very well then lets go and find some wolves!" With that Suko set out of the gates, not bothering to take note if Teayre followed him or not. Begrudgingly Teayre started to follow him drawing her weapon prepared to take on any wolves that spawn.
