Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11815 Battle Dice: 9 (+1 Damage) Mob Dice: 7 (Evasion +1) = 6 The golem pulled its arm back as it readied a punch towards Calrex once again. As its punch was thrust Calrex let out a deep exhale, the chilling sound echoing with it. As the punch came forward he leapt up, the fist hitting the ground as he landed on the fist, rushing up the golem's arm. As he reached the shoulder he kicked off, leaping forward as he performed another strong kick to the golem's head. The golem didn't seem to be as shaken by this strike, but as Calrex killed his momentum right on the other side of the golem's head he quickly rotated around, slamming his fist into the "ear" section of the golem's head. That hit did throw the golem off as Calrex leapt off. However, the golem seemed to recover a bit faster than it did before. It quickly rotated around, swatting Calrex as he dropped through the air. He crossed his arms as he saw the hand coming, taking the hit. As he got close to hitting the wall he quickly backflipped partway, his feet making contact with the wall, absorbing the impact. He spread his legs out to help distribute the force before letting himself drop, forward flipping part way so that he would be facing the right way when he landed. His gaze became fixed again on the golem as it roared. HP List Calrex: 10/17 Enemies: Stone Golem: 8/
Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #22 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11387 Battle Dice: 3 Mob Dice: 2 (Evasion +1) = 1 Due to the distance between them the golem executed a maneuver Calrex had not seen for a while: It began to charge at him. As it readied itself to run Calrex kept still in his stance, remaining utterly silent as the golem began its charge at him. The resounding stomp of each step echoed against the walls of the stone alcove. As it got just out of striking range Calrex crouched before he leapt to the side, rolling twice to get out of the way. The golem rammed into the wall for a second time, the impact forcing it apart once again. The pile of rocks that had begun to settle moved once again as it began to reform into the golem. Calrex continued his calm breathing, his eyes still dim as he kept his gaze affixed on the golem. As the golem began to near its complete reformation his right hand clenched as his left hand remained relaxed. As the golem roared upon completion Calrex rushed forward, preparing to strike. Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11819 Battle Dice: 1 Mob Dice: 9 (Evasion +1) = 8 (+1 Damage) As Calrex rushed forward the golem decided to respond by immediately firing its right hand at Calrex, the fist traveling at high speed. Since Calrex was already rushing forward the fist easily managed to slam into him, but instead of carrying him into the wall like before it immediately burst into pieces of rubble, beginning its return to the golem. As Calrex took the hit he was sent back about ten feet, his feet sliding as it made contact with the ground. However he didn't flinch or groan in pain from the impact like before. All that came out of his mouth was the deep breathing that he had started after taking so many hits previously. "Rushing in no good...re-evaluate...defensive and reactive measures appear to be effective...better recover." Calrex swiped downwards, opening his menu, preparing to use his last potion. Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Calrex retrieved the his last potion from his inventory, quickly down it and tossing it aside. He closed his eyes, his breathing slowing even more than before, becoming deeper and longer in breath. He opened his eyes, looking over at the golem, which seemed to be preparing, figuring out its next attack. Calrex moved into his fighting position once more, letting his body relax into the position, taking a few more breaths as he kept his eyes focused on the golem. "Last potion used...need to end this...no choice but to succeed..." He kept his body still as the golem began is walk towards him, ready to engage in battle once again. Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #25 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11821 Battle Dice: 10 (+2 Damage) Mob Dice: 4 (Evasion +1) = 3 It turned out that switching from an offensive strategy to a responsive defensive one was a good call. As the golem got just out of range once again he did a hop, preparing a double hammerfist towards the ground. As the golem's arms came up Calrex leapt back. As he landed he used the momentum gained from the hop to jump once again into the air, backflipping so that the soles of his feet were facing the wall behind him. As the fists came down he kicked off, launching himself at the golem's head like a bullet. As he got closer he began to notice something. The golem's head, although he was successfully striking it, had a strange arrangement where the forehead was supposed to be location. And in the center was... "...the activation stone..." As Calrex got close he brought his fist back, slamming it into the stone. He felt it give as the stone cracked slightly from the impact. While he was still suspended in the air he brought his other fist forward, striking the stone once again. The cracks seemed to widen and travel down the length of the golem as Calrex descended back towards the ground. He leapt back a few paces to observe the occurrence. While the golem was still active, the cracks seemed to give it an even more obvious sign that it was weakened. Calrex continued his eerily calm breathing as he looked up at the golem, ready to strike once again. HP List Calrex: 12/17 Enemies: Stone Golem: 5/
Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11825 Battle Dice: 9 (+1 Damage) Mob Dice: 3 (Evasion +1) = 2 After giving such solid hits to its weak point the golem seemed to get even more agitated. Now not only did it roar when it was about to attack, it roared eve during strikes, as if the deafening noise would throw Calrex off and open him up for a hit. Unfortunately this did not turn out to be the case. Calrex remained unfazed as he weaved over, under, and around the wild flurry of strikes the golem was throwing at him. In desperation the golem fired both of its fists towards Calrex. As the fists neared him he quickly rolled to the side, the rock hands breaking against the wall. Before they could begin their return he had already dashed towards the golem, leaping upwards and delivering a strong strike once again to the weak point of the golem with a drop kick. He used the impact to kick off the golem, landing on his feet as he returned back to his fighting stance. "Almost eliminated...continuing assault..." Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #27 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11827 Battle Dice: 4 Mob Dice: 1 (+1 Evasion) = 0 With the golem in a significantly weaker state Calrex decided to switch to a more offensive assault once again, moving forward. He weaved around the golem's sweeping kick as he tried to leap up and make another strike at the golem's weak point. Unfortunately as he got within range the golem raised and arm, blocking Calrex's blow, trying to [censored] him off as he remained in contact from the momentum. Calrex quickly kicked off of the arm back towards the ground, giving a couple of eerily calm breaths once again as he gained some distance between him and the golem. "Time to re-engage defense techniques. Prepare for the counterattack." Calrex assumed his fighting stance once again, relaxing into the position as he prepared for the golem's attack. Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11828 Battle Dice: 8 Mob Dice: 2 (Evasion +1) = 1 The golem charged once again as Calrex readied himself. As it got within striking range rather than trying to barrel headfirst into Calrex like it's tried a few times before, the golem actually tried to throw a charge powered punch at him. As Calrex saw the fist come at him instead of rolling to the sides, like he's done multiple times so far, he decided to leap upwards. The impact of the strike created an even larger cloud of shattered stone and dust than before. It was as if the AI programming of the golem was trying to use everything it could to try and kill Calrex. Calrex landed on his feet as he gave a chillingly calm breath after witnessing that strike. The killing intent of the AI didn't even faze him. Calrex assumed his fighting stance once again. Immediately after he rushed forward, running up the arm that had impacted the ground. As he got to the head of the golem he saw it preemptively turn to avoid exposing its weak spot. "...Changing the situation..." Calrex rushed forward and delivered a strong punch across the golem's head, although he made sure to keep the strike shallow so it didn't force the golem's head to rotate. He landed on the other side of the golem, his back facing its head. However, instead of leaping off like he did before, he remained on the golem's opposite shoulder, slowly turning to face its face. He slowly assumed his fighting stance, his right hand clenched in a fist as he extended it towards the golem's weak point. "Hi..." Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11829 Battle Dice: 1 Mob Dice: 4 (Evasion +1) = 3 Calrex rushed forward, aiming to strike at the golem's weakpoint. As he got within striking range the unevenness of the golem's body formation caused him to slip off, falling back towards the ground. As he descended the golem tried to get a hold of him as he fell. Luckily Calrex slipped out of its fingers as the hand began to close, flipping before he landed on the ground. He stood up, looking over at the golem, observing its movements, the cracks that had formed, the pieces of rock falling off as the pieces ground against each other. He gave a deep exhale as he lowered himself into his stance, preparing himself. "This will end on one or two strikes...I will make sure of that." Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #30 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11830 Battle Dice: Mob Dice: 8 (Evasion +1) = 7 Calrex prepared to rush forward, but immediately stopped as he saw the golem point its fist at him, just like he did earlier, only this time the fist shot out at him from almost point blank range. He immediately threw himself to the side as the fist came out, although the fist did manage to make contact with his side as the fist flew by. He did a few rolls to disperse the added momentum that came with the impact, rolling and bouncing to his feet. "Don't get cocky...keep it calm...focus...One or two hits..." He lowered himself into his stance, exhaling a long breath as he kept his eyes focused on the golem's movements. "Switching back to defensive tactics..." Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11851 Battle Dice: 5 Mob Dice: 5 (Evasion +1) = 4 After switching back to use reactive tactics against the golem, there appeared to be a stalemate as neither both Calrex nor the golem could score a hit on each other. Calrex continued his attempts at getting up and striking at the golem's upper body, but it seemed the golem had finally learned from Calrex's previous attacks about how he builds up enough energy to deal damage: using the momentum of his jumps and rolls to increase the power behind his blows. Because of this the golem was easily bracing or leaning around Calrex's charges. At the same time however, the golem was not gaining any ground. It tried to counter and react to Calrex's attacks, but for each miss that Calrex had the golem was too slow to exploit, it's arms and legs just barely missing Calrex as he went up and down in the air. Calrex leapt back, standing close to a nearby wall, his calm, deep breathing continuing throughout the entire course of the battle. His dimmed eyes were still affixed on the golem, although his left eye was partially hidden by his bangs. HP List Calrex: 10/17 Enemies: Stone Golem: 2/
Calrex 0 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #32 Share Posted March 4, 2015 ID: 11855 Battle Dice: 5 Mob Dice: 7 (Evasion +1) = 6 Calrex made a rush forward, but was interrupted once again as the golem decided to use a new tactic. It used its left arm, slamming it into the ground in front of Calrex. At the same time its right hand came around, firing the fist at Calrex. Calrex stopped in front of the left fist, the right fist smashing right next him. As it shattered next to him Calrex didn't have time to dive to the side as the explosion sent him reeling to the side. He flew a few feet before rolling, leaping back to his feet. He continued his deep breathing as the golem regenerated itself. The right fist came first as it quickly reformed, returning to the golem's right arm. The left arm came back up as the golem gave a roar, turning to face Calrex. Calrex lowered his stance as he gave his stare at the golem's weak point. "Last attack used a one-two surrounding attack...time it right...exploit the opening..." He raised his fists as he lowered his stance even further, rushing forward. The golem, going off of the fact its last attack worked, used it again, this time its right fist coming down in front of Calrex. Calrex slowed himself quickly as the fist came down, but instead of coming to an immediate stop he used the momentum and leapt. At the same time the golem's left fist fired, slamming into the ground directly where Calrex was. The explosion sent chunks of rocks, a couple grazing Calrex as he made his way up the golem's arm. He made a quick dash up to the elbow of the golem's arm before kicking off, aiming for the golem's weak point. As he flew through the air he clasped his hands together, rotating 360 degrees as he came around. As he got to the golem's weak point he delivered a double hammerfist at the golem's weak spot. The golem reeled from the impact before all of a sudden turning completely still. Calrex leapt off the golem as he began to walk away a few feet before turning to face the golem, as if prepared to fight once again. The golem continued to remain silent and still for some time before it began to crumble away, the rocks dissolving into dust before dissipating into the familiar blue crystals of a defeated monster. At the same time a window appeared in front of him. Martial Arts:5 RanksPassiveThe effectiveness with which a player can use unarmed combat. Without hesitation Calrex accepted the window, remaining still for a couple of minutes. After some time the light in his eyes returned as his eerily calm breathing returned back to his normal rate, "Just now..." He felt his body buckle as he fell backwards onto his butt, using his arms to brace himself from hitting the ground. "Just now I almost died..." He felt a strong sense of shivering creeping over him as he put a hand up to his face, as if to make sure he was still there. "I thought that the fight with Gemini was close, but this...it was almost a death wish...If it hadn't been for those potions..." He could feel his heart beating like crazy as he breathing began to speed up. "I...I need to calm myself down...for all I know...this isn't going to be the first really close call I'm going to experience..." Calrex bent over, grasping his knees as he tried to get a hold of himself for quite some time. After he did manage to do so he slowly and shakily got to his feet as he dusted himself off. He exited the alcove, drawing his weapon now that it had been freed once again. "I'm going to need to confront this fear for quite some time. I just hope it doesn't become too much for me to handle..." HP List Calrex: 6/17 Enemies: Stone Golem: -1/
