[PP-F1] Beware of Panda's!

Recommended Posts

Floor 1. Most would say the chances of dying here would be slim to none. All the monsters are easy or so they say. Skylar knew better, according to some reports he heard. Some monster was in the forest killing players that got to close. It was some time of humanoid figure with a sword. Normally Skylar would ignore things like this but someone said they saw Asen battling the beast. Skylar wanted to check it out. He missed Asen, maybe he was hunting the beast down or Asen was killed. Still Skylar would not rest until he figured out what happened to Asen. The forest was a light with sounds, birds chirping, bees buzzing, and the steady blowing of the leaves through the trees. Skylar looked around the forest for any signs of life or a hint of Asen.

Chilling in the forest on the first floor, Rook had taken to staying away from players for his own safety. Barred from the safe zone, Rook had made a temporary nest for himself a decent way up a tree. As he sat there munching on some berries, he took notice of a player who seemed to be searching the forest below. Observing the player as he went, he couldn't help but notice the laid back vibe he gave off as he did. In a smooth and coordinated motion Rook rolled off the branch grabbing onto it with his hands as he fell. Hanging there for a second he quickly let go and dropped to the ground. Rook wasn't sure how he would be received by the player do to his orange tag, but decided it was worth a shot to introduce himself.  "Hey there, I couldn't help but notice you seem to be searching around for something. The name is Rook and I kinda live out here, maybe I could be of some help to you, what are you looking for?"

Skylar took notice of the guy that dropped from the trees. He was a player killer that introduced himself as Rook. He was a player killer! He could very well be what he was looking for. Skylar looked him all over "No he couldn't be it" he mumbles to himself. This guy seemed to be some what newbie even for a Player killer. Definitely not someone that could take on Asen. Still he could not afford to be careless. "Well Rutta and I was actually looking for a monster that is said to lurk here in the woods. It has been killing players and is not a very nice creature." Only afterwards did Skylar realize Rutta must have gone away for a moment without him. Skylar let out a taxi cab whistle calling Rutta back to this location.

Rook saw the player notice his orange tag, although if it bothered him the player didn't let on. "A player killer you say? Well as a player that lives in this forest that sounds like bad news to me." As the player let out a sharp whistle Rook struggled to cover his ears in time. Looking up he noticed as the players familiar came running towards him. "Well I don't know what you would want with a player killing monster, but if your trying to hunt it down I would be inclined to help. What's your name by the way? Rook asked the player.

"Skylar the amazing" He bowed introducing himself to Rook, before gesturing to his companion. "This gorgeous ball of fluffy white fur is my leopard companion Rutta T. Kodama he usually doesn't bite though, and sorry about that whistle."   He began to loosen up doubting this guy could take him. A sudden shriek let loose close by. It was not too loud but it was cut off suddenly and it sounded human. The forest suddenly got silent. The birds, bees, and even the wind made no sound. Rutta's hackles rose and he growled gazing left of where the group was standing. "I guess that may be what I was looking for" He stated the obvious in the stillness of the suddenly eerie woods.

Focusing his attention on the player who had introduced himself as Skylar. Rook failed to notice how quiet the woods had gotten, that was until out of nowhere he herd a shriek. Skylar was the first one to react to the noise, as he listened to the player talk he couldn't help but notice the laid back excitement he exuded. Most players would run away from danger, I can't tell if he is confident or just plain crazy. "I think we should approach with caution, get a feel for what we are about to face before we commit to a fight. Whenever your ready lead the way and I'll follow."

Skylar had to get battle ready. He should have done this before but now he took the time to change his equipment. He brought out his Rose shield and put on his Garnet gloves. He was ready for battle, as long as he was properly prepped he could handle himself. Another roar shook the area, what ever was making that sound was getting closer. Even Rutta was on edge and ready to pounce. "I suggest you get ready. Looks like the fight is coming to us."

His equipment already equipped, Rook did a once over to make sure everything was good to go. Looking at the plushie that Ariel had given to him still attached to the hilt of his sword, Rook couldn't help but give a small chuckle. Although it wasn't the type of thing that would strike fear into anyone, so far it had brought him good luck so he wasn't going to take it off yet. In addition to the luck it brought him, it also reminded him of Ariel herself. As his mentor she would never accept anything less then 110% from him. So having it attached to his sword reminded him to never give up during combat. "I'm ready to go when you are. Lead the way when your ready." He responded to Skylar.

The trees ripped out a dark shape came barreling towards Skylar. He raised his shield only to be thrown into some tree's. The impact cause Skylar some heavy damage but luckily his battle healing kicked in. The shape stopped suddenly and Skylar was able to make out the figure. It was a Battle Panda. Things may not end well for them. Battle Panda's are natural denizens of the first floor with some mad damaging skills. That would explain how he managed to send Skylar flying so easily. "I suggest you hit it while it is stunned man!"

Skylar HP: 15/17 (-3 because it was a critical hit. Skylar healed +1 because of battle healing.)

Rook HP: 13/13

As Rook watched as a monstrous figure bashed into Skylar throwing him into some trees, he was confused by what he was seeing. From what he could tell the large black and white figure was a giant Panda! "There's battle panda's in this game!?!?" Rook asked aloud, although he wasn't exactly directing the question towards Skylar so much as expressing his surprise. Gripping his sword tightly, Rook ran into the battle attempting to strike the panda. Trying hard to avoid the panda's large paws as the attempted to swipe at him however, he had to pull back from the attack.

Skylar was confused for a moment but he managed to get back up and shake it off. While the panda was stunned from hitting Rose Quartz, Skylar decided to use this time to attack. Paralysis never last long and you did not want to be on the wrong end when it wore off. Skylar lunged forward and brought his fist up to smash the nose in. For an animal that could hardly move, it moved enough. Skylar's fist missed as the beast fell backwards to avoid the hit.

The beast was still paralyzed from the affect of Rose Quartz. It could not move fast enough to hit any of the players at the moment. It growled in frustration at the humans that dare to taunt it.

MD: Does not matter as it cannot attack.
