Sunny 0 Posted April 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2015 Sunny stretches as he walks out of town. Glaive slung across his back he walks at a leisurely pace towards the well-known boar fields. He'd just finished talking to the quest NPC. Apparently he needed a dozen boar tusks for his crafts, I guess he was some kind of artisan. He'd spent too much time in the Town of Beginnings, questioning himself, if he was really ready to put his life on the line. After much hesitation, he finally settled his doubts, steeling his resolve as he approached the first boar. He quickly pulls his glaive off his back, giving it a few twirls as he moves into a neutral attack stance. 14003 1 4 19 4 Sunny 2015-04-01 14:07:36 Sunny's eyes widen as his glaive goes flying right out of his hand, his grip having fumbled when he went to lunge. He silently curses his own ineptitude at killing a simple boar, he probably should've started all of this a long time ago, now he just looks stupid. Thankfully, the boar was just as surprised by his screwup as he was, the awkward fumbling of the glaive distracting the boar enough for its own charge to miss. Sunny wastes no time in hightailing it to his glaive, realizing all too late that he opened himself up to another attack by stooping to retrieve his weapon. 14004 3 11 1 2 Sunny 2015-04-01 14:14:42 The boar was still distracted to actually land a solid blow on him. He's just barely able to step to the side, avoiding the rampaging boar like a matador.
Sunny 0 Posted April 1, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted April 1, 2015 He grips his glaive tighter, determined to not let it slip embarassingly out of his hands. The blade glows with an iridescent cerulean, matching the colour of his hair and eyes. He'd never done a sword skill before, but he had the basic principle down, and theoretically the game should take care of all the movements for him. 14005 9 4 14 4 Sunny 2015-04-01 14:27:42 His face remains impassive as his movements turn into a devastating flurry of blows, spearing the innocent boar through the chest four times in succession. Unable to continue, the boar poofs into the telltale polygons of death and a small loot window pops up. »Loot Obtained« »15 Col »2 Tusks He looks out over the field as he dismisses the loot window. That was... exhilarating. Planting the butt of his glaive in the dirt he looks out over the landscape. Maybe this game wasn't a death sentence after all... No, don't get ahead of yourself. That was a single boar, the weakest enemy in the game, and you dropped your weapon on the first attack. That could've easily been a death sentence. Now isn't the tme for optimism. You still have a task ahead of you.
Sunny 0 Posted April 2, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted April 2, 2015 He narrows his eyes, his sight set on his next target. He rotates his grip on the glaive, charging forward again to stab the boar through its center of mass. A bit ordinary, but getting the first strike always gets the job done. The blade ignites in a cerulean glow once more, indicating he's once again using his four-hit stab. 14028 2 9 1 8 Sunny 2015-04-01 18:54:55 He grunts as his assault misses and the boar catches him pretty badly in the side, knocking him off balance for a second before he can recover. »4/5 HP Remaining« The boar is now in much closer quarters, rendering his mid-ranged stab ineffective. Using the momentum and weight of the glaive he rotates it around his waist and swings at the boar's side, benefitting from the top-heavy weapon's inertia. 14029 4 12 4 9 Sunny 2015-04-01 18:58:28 Unfortunately, he overestimated the height of the boar and his attack goes sailing over its head. His abdomen exposed, the boar uses the opportunity to ram its tusks directly into his unarmoured stomach. Sunny lets out a yelp of surprise as he's practically impaled by the ferocious creature. »2/5 HP Remaining« His scowl deepens as he has to literally pull himself off the thrashing boar, quickly putting some distance between them. His breathing is ragged as he sees his health bar drop into the red. How could a damn boar kick his ass so thoroughly? He hesitates, weighing his options. With a sigh he turns, making a break for the town walls, disappointed in his own lacking skill. »Quest Failed« »Quest Items Removed«
