Monster Fish Drops

Having caught and killed a Monster Fish, can someone explain how the 3 drops are supposed to work? Like give me examples of fish quality item drops; are we just talking about dropping 3 medium fish? Or a large fish and a small fish? Or is it something entirely different then that?

 

Monster Fish (available with a rank 5 fishing rod)Monster fish. These fish are rare, and they are large and land-walking. Once killed, there is a 100% chance they will drop 3 items of the fish quality.

I believe it's talking loot, as in items, not more fish, though i suppose you could choose that option if you wanted.

You're the first person to come across this, so I'd PM Oske and ask her

Ok, this is what Oske sent me.

 

"Say you caught a rare monster fish. You get 3 rare fish drops. The name monster fish drop doesn't matter, all that matters is you get 3 rare drops."

 

 

So because I caught a Good Monster Fish; I get three more drops of the "Good" Quality.
