Guest Meokka Posted April 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2015 I noticed it said that the skills were under construction so can I pick my skills now or do I wait still? Also I noticed some skills have a 'cost' vs 'rank'. Now does the cost mean how many points I need to put into it to get that skill? Also not everything seems to have a 'cost'. I know I have 2 points to allocate so if something with a cost of 6, that means I can't get that skill yet right? Sorry for the question if it's stupid. Thanks for the help! Klick 0 Posted April 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2015 You can in fact put your skills in After your journal is approved Most skills have a cost depending on if it has ranks or not Skills with ranks cost (rank trying to obtain * 2)sp Skills without ranks cost 6 sp And you cannot skip ranks. So to get rank 3 block (6sp) U have to first get rank 1 (2sp) and rank 2 (4sp) first
Reusririasuir 0 Posted April 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Sure, you can allocate your skill points now! So think of it like this, Skill Straight Sword has 5 ranks, each doubling in cost. Rank 1 = 2 Points Rank 2 = 4 Points Rank 3 = 6 Points .... So for you to get to Rank 1 in Straight Sword you'd need to spend your two skill points. (You can spend 1 point, but you won't get the first rank bonus until you've invested two points.) Then you would start Rank 1 with 0 points invested towards Rank 2. So after investing another 4 points, your Straight Sword skill will rank up to Rank 2. Then after investing another 6 points, you'll be at Rank 3. This would be different from a skill like Athleticism, which has no ranks, but requires [costs] 6 points to acquire. So you would need to acquire all 6 points and spend them all at once to learn that skill. Some skills don't have a cost or have ranks, such as the Extra Skills Concentration and Disguise, these are acquired through completion of the appropriate quest, which is listed in The Skill System guide with that particular skill description. Guest Meokka Posted April 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2015 okay thanks I think I get it now! I was also wondering if there was a weapons list for basic weapons I'm trying to figure out the perks to having a 1 handed spear over 2 handed. I mean one should be able to equip a shield and I'm assuming the two handed spears out power the single handed spear. I like numbers for these things. I was also wondering if battle healing could be used on another player or if it's for your own health as a passive skill or an activated skill.
Klick 0 Posted April 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2015 okay thanks I think I get it now! I was also wondering if battle healing could be used on another player or if it's for your own health as a passive skill or an activated skill. There is a weapon list. its in the skill tutorial. But here is the list â–ºOne-Handed Straight Sword: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use one-handed longsword-like swords. (Example: Arming sword, Longsword)â–ºOne-Handed Curved Sword: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use one handed slashing swords. (Example: Scimitar, Kilij)â–ºOne-Handed Dagger: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use knives and daggers. (Example: Pugio, Stilleto)â–ºOne-Handed Assault Spear: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use one-handed piercing Spear type weapons. (Example: Javelin, Iklwa)â–ºOne-Handed War Hammer: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use one-handed Hammer or Mace type weapons. (Example: Flanged Mace, Warhammer)â–ºOne-Handed Rapier: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use one hand thrusting type swords. (Example: Rapier, Epee)â–ºTwo-Handed Straight Sword: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use two-handed type long swords. (Example: Claymore, Broadsword)â–ºTwo-Handed Assault Spear: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use two-handed piercing type polearms. (Example: Warspear, Lance)â–ºTwo-Handed Battle Axe: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use two-handed cleaving type weapons. Unlocked after reaching Skill Rank 3 with One-Handed Curved Sword. â–º Martial Arts: 5 Ranks Passive The effectiveness with which a player can use unarmed combat. Unlocked after completion of the quest Quest: <Breaking the Unbreakable.> 2h weapons have no added benefits as of now battle healing only works on yourself, and its a passive. Every time you roll 10 or higher on the craft die, you heal X amount with x being the skill level
Reusririasuir 0 Posted April 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2015 You are correct Meokka, if you use a two-handed weapon, you can not use a shield. And Klick is also correct, as of right now, two-handed weapons do not offer any type of benefit.
Guest Meokka Posted April 22, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 22, 2015 okay. Well that's a downer that it doesn't have bonuses compaired to the single handed. Well I'll go with my character and still use the two handed one even if it jilts me by not allowing me added protection. I'll just hope that one day it changes n_n Thank you all so much for explaining things. Just one more question. I may have skimmed past the answer I'm looking for. The weapon skill ranks. What would the equation look like when factoring it in? Sorry for all the questions I just want to do this right. Thank you for your time and patients. Edit I think I figured it out. Just add 1 or the rank number after the total. Just seeking confirmation on that. Once I get it then this topic is closed.
Reusririasuir 0 Posted April 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2015 1 Base Damage always, then add your current weapon skill rank number. Rank 1 = 1 point of additional damage. (1 + 1 = 2 total) Rank 2 = 2 points of additional damage. (1 + 2 = 3 total) Rank 3 = 3 points of additional damage (1 + 3 = 4 total) etc.
