(Complete)[SP:F1] Blades of Dreams

Recommended Posts

Dervish awoke from his room in the free hotel in the town of beginnings and began moving about and making a list of what quests he saw and what he thought would be a good plan, he originally thought that he would need a weapon, but then he thought about armour. This small little argument with himself lead to the fact that he went to Griswold first and approached his shop, thus triggering the introduction to the quest. “Yeah, and whadd’ya want stranger, I be Griswold. You look like a sorry state, HAHAHA, tell ya what, I can talk to me wife Hanna and craft ye some armour, free o’ charge!†This sounded like a great choice for Dervish and he was about ready to ignore the rest and click accept, that’s when he heard that dreaded word. “BUT! You’ll need to git the materials for it yerself.†This didn’t sound like a huge but, it meant wandering around and collecting some stuff from areas, right? After selecting the Heavy Armour the man said “Ah, y’wanna stand there and take the beatin huh? Well, you’ll need to get dragon bones from the second floor dragon’s cave!â€.

With that Dervish Swallowed hard and canceled the quest with a “Maybe later†He actually did need something to fight the dragons with and he didn’t trust his pitiful sword in the slightest, so he headed down the road to the small upstart blacksmith whose shop was called “Blades of Dreamsâ€.

After approaching the shop, the small girl ran outside and straight up to him in a flash, it was odd, that this spritely little girl was running a smithy but her first words to him were “HI! My name is Sai! Would you like to buy a weapon?!†Dervish was a little shocked to be directly attacked by this question and quickly raised both hands defensively. This seemingly triggered an event in the small AI’s actions and she hung her head in despair “Noone wants to buy a weapon from me, or even order one. I need the practice real bad, but am still pretty good. I can show you if you like! Just gather the materials for me!†Dervish was still stunned by this little burst of electrically generated energy and he tapped on the weapon he wanted. <<1-H Straight Sword>> This small girl then looked back up and did a small pirouette with a very loud “YAAAY!!! You’ll need this list then†to which she handed him a piece of paper with the same thing written on it 10 times in a row each item said <Black Metal Ore>.

Dervish looked at it and then looked at the girl, this little girl turned around and said “Go to Floor 4 and head into a cave, then all you need to do is tap the ore and collect it, there shouldn’t be any monsters there right away but you might get a small bat attack you if you disturb their home†at this point Dervish grinned, he could take a bat, a bat was nothing, unlike a dragon which frankly was frightening as a concept to fight.

Dervish left soon after and headed around the town, he knew exactly where the town portal was and moved to it, dawdling somewhat as he made his way to the teleporter, he considered walking over to the stairs and climbing up those however it would be a problem if he ended up getting stuck in combat that way.

He made his way eventually to the teleporter, after passing countless Shopkeepers who are all of the NPCs selling food and items and crystals of all kinds, even some others selling common weapons, but Dervish just smiled at them as he walked past on right on by. Ultimately he reached the teleporting hub and opened his world Map, looking up the name of the town on the fourth floor he said simply after locking it in "Teleport to Waypoint!"

After arriving in the area he instantly became freezing cold, his small starter clothes clearly don't support the cold climate as in the top left corner next to his health bar was a small light blue snowflake, his body didn't feel paralysed, but rigid as he looked around for something warm. All he could see at the moment was snow, snow buffeting the area in every direction. He stood of the platform and planned on running in a specific direction.

As said, he PLANNED on running, however this status condition caused him to shuffle forwards, seemingly restricting his movements like he was shackled up, however there was a glow off to his left. An inn? Dervish don't wait to find out and he waddled towards the light. The closer he got the more he could see, a door for one which he promptly and quickly entered through.

When he fell through the door, his status effect passing into the premises the NPC innkeeper Parker up and ran over to Dervish who was getting up off the floor, the next part was odd as he received a coat and a mug with a steaming liquid inside. The innkeeper said "Oh my dearie, careful, what'cha doing being out there like that! Well here take these!" Dervish examined both of the items quickly. The coat read: A cheap winter coat to protect you from cold weather, will disappear after 5 hours. Whereas the mug said: Boiling brew, when drunk will protect you from the cold permanently, cannot be traded, or sold.

After downing the liquid he didn't see the point in wearing the coat but felt like since it was there he should wear it anyways. He received another effect from it when he wore it. It told him that when he left the area it would disappear, which he was fine with frankly since he was only wearing it for the sake of it for the moment regardless. He sat in the inn and began having a philosophical argument with himself over reality. What was real and what wasn't. It was all relative here.

For instance he was sat in front of a fire, he could feel the warmth of the Flames and he knew that if he put his hand in the flame outside a safe zone. His health would drop, and yet he wouldn't feel the burning of the fire. He would just know it was there. The other time was when he took up a weapon, the weapon ha weight to it, but wasn't made of anything at all, all of this was relative and thinking about It all made him both wonder and fear the technology of the day. After around two hours of contemplating the storm had passed to calm snow cycle.

Standing and turning about to open the door, he waved off to the NPC, before leaving the inn and stepping into the crisp white land of the fourth floor, despite the storm. No extra snow had accumulated, which at first Dervish was addled about but that quickly turned to dismissal with the ‘Ah, it’s a game’ thought. Quickly moving on to find this path, he began following a dirt track up the hill, however this hill after spiralling up a few times quickly turned out to be a mountain which upset Dervish greatly as he did not exactly want to be climbing on his first major mission, he even began talking to himself with an “Arghhh, this suuucks, I came to collect ore not go hiking!â€

After about 1 hour walking he reached the entrance to the cave and grinned to himself, hoping that this would be over quickly he headed inside and began to search for the black crystals. Originally due to the cave being icy at the entrance Dervish thought this to be an easy task, little did he know that this went much much deeper and a lot more rocky. He even had to take a torch from the wall, which was oddly well located in fact.

As dervish made his way into the cavern, he began moving somewhat slowly, he was cautious since although he had a blade and was assured this place was somewhat same he had no idea how tough some of these monsters were going to be. He was looking up because Sai mentioned there being bats in the cave and indeed there were several beady looking black eyes looking down at him. He stayed low so as not to attract unwanted attention and walked into a rather large chunk of Black Metal Ore.

When he tapped it, a screen popped up in front of him which said on it Obtained: <Black Metal Ore> x2 Dervish smiled as he looked and dismissed this screen “Alright, only 8 to go†he said as it echoed throughout the cave, he quickly placed a hand over his mouth and began searching yet again for more ore. Constantly attempting to stay low however hurt his knees due to all of the crouching and  he decided to try moving around stood up. He did however lower the torch to ground level so he could still see without disturbing the bats too much. ‘So far so good’ as he passed from under a largeish swarm of bats and began to look around for more ores to collect.

Dervish felt like he was off to a flying start, he had managed to procure a not one but two for the price of one chunk piece of the Black Metal Ore and was well on the way to collecting everything he needed to in order to get his very first upgrade to the weapon he liked, he began thinking of what it would look like, how it would feel. What he would be able to do with it. What he ultimately would be capable of in the end, all of these questions were whizzing around in his head and he was looking for a way for them to happen. Whether that would mean finding people to craft his ultimate equipment for him or him having to spend a long time crafting his own equipment, either way he was going to get to the front lines and he would be the one bearing the brunt of the assault for everyone else, even if that meant putting his life on the line.

He was wandering in the cavern when he came to a sort of cross roads, always following his gut he took the left path and he would follow the left wall in order to explore the whole premises if he could do so. And just as it happened he was in luck, his path took him to another medium chunk of the ore. He’d be lying if he didn’t do a small fist bump as he tapped it and got the Obtained: <Black Metal Ore>x2 he received before quickly moving on, he wanted to be in and out of here if he could.

Dervish had spend maybe 10 minutes underground and had already accumulated some four of the black metal ores he was supposed to. He was wandering around down in the bottom of a dead end and found nothing, so following his procedure of moving around the room using the left walls as guides he turned around and headed back into the crossroads, this time he took the middle passage and began to wander with his torch in front of him. Now sadly because of him focussing on the wall and his previous finds he missed some obvious parts on the ground and carried on anyways.

Eventually he came to a wall which had lodged in it a piece of the ore around the size of his fist as opposed to his head, he disappointedly tapped it and it disappeared into the same green pixelated triangles other items do when destroyed, he looked down at his notification that said Obtained: <Black Metal Ore> and sighed. Somehow the x2 made it so much more satisfying that it should have been however it turns out that it wasn’t that bad and now he had five of his potential ten pieces of ore, but that still means he was only halfway done with the quest.

Searching around in the torch lit cave was a difficult task, as often if there was ice the walls would simply reflect the light he shined over, in the next area there were another two paths after the chamber he entered however the chamber had walls literally covered in icy crystals which made it impossible for him to tell one type from the other.

He fumbled around in the room for some 30 minutes looking for some semblance of ore and didn’t even notice the huge 3 point ore chunk in the middle of the room as it looked just like the ice crystals. Eventually after turning up nothing he felt a little bit aggravated. So much so that he drew his sword and hit it against the floor, only to be met with an abrupt noise, the sword bouncing off the ground and the large purple <IMMORTAL OBJECT> hexagon appearing. To which he swung his sword at the huge chunk of ore and it exploded into the destroyed shards. Except because he destroyed it without touching it it just disappeared.

After some 2 minutes of temper tantrums at costing himself so many ores he decided it was time to continue deeper into the cave and find the items.

Dervish began moving once again and moved down a corridor, again to his left, this time he was a little more rushed due to his outburst. Wishing he had a crystal to boost his sight he walked into a seemingly flat cave, however when he walked in an event triggered where the floor was actually full of thin ice and broke. In doing so revealed the down angled slope, where he slid down due to not having a good grip.

He slid for about 5 seconds before rolling onto a hard stone floor. He stood quickly and looked around with his torch but sadly he lifted his torch to the ceiling and there was a huge swarm of bats which he disturbed. This triggered the event to take place where the bats all screeched and swarmed around him however didn't touch him, instead this just frightened him.

Once the bat swarm had passed he sighed deeply and began to move further into the cave, but a single bat the size of a large kite wa disturbed and flew towards Dervish to which Dervish drew his sword and stood, rather annoyed he didn't have a shield to tank with like he usually would have, he needed to do this carefully since it would be a real shame if he died so early into his quest to level up.

Dice 15074, 5 battle dice, 5 mob dice no hit

Dice 15074, 7 battle dice, 5 mob dice, dervish hit the bat for 2 damage, 1 HP left

After a long while or Dervish being on the offensive, using the flat of his sword to stop the bats bites and claws. All the while the threat of death looming in on him, like the darkness of the cave was coming for him. But he couldn't think about that now, negative thinking proves negative results, he couldn't defeat himself mentally to allow his opponent to physically.

With a very large "No!" He turned his blade about so the blade faced the bat and waited for it to attack, arcing the blade up when the small beast came close, a big glowing red line formed across its belly, chest and face, and he saw an opportunity to continue this escapade, however he wasn't about to go and finish the creature because he had a flashback.

In the flashback he remembered going to a zoo and in the nocturnal animals section there were bats obviously, not as large as the one he was fighting but pretty big, and some of the bats had babies, that led him to question if these bats had children. But then he remembered his complacency was not relevant in a video game, and any remorse he was developing instantly disappeared. This was good but the time he thought thinking about it lead him to allow the bat to recover and it was flying once more, the gash still apparant.

Dervish cursed as he went for a downward swing but a rogue piece of ice caused his footing to go awry, causing his sword to thunk into the wall on the other side of the bat, luckily however the bat went to swoop for him with an ear piercing screech and flew straight over him because of this maneuver, all he had left now was the torch, but he held it like a bat in order to home run this little critter when it turned around and flew back toward him. Hoping with all his might that he could deal the blow to end this fight. He simply watched the bat fly around.

He always found it odd how bats fly, the fact that they seem to struggle yet oddly look cute in their clumsy hovering and erratic flapping the are privy to doing, Dervish awaited the moment when the bat would strike since now it seemed to be a little more reserved, though that may be due to the thing having a third of it’s health left. Dervish began taking steps backwards to the wall his sword was buried in however he only had a torch to defend himself with at the moment, that and he knew he would use it if he had to.

1 Black ore found

Dervish saw the bat screech and head for him immediately after his movement to grab at the sword. But Dervish foresaw this happening and immediately moved to swing at it. Originally he missed and the bat flew into him, landing on his chest. It looked at him, Dervish looked at this bat and oddly enough, the bat looked harmless. This was a strange moment for the bat, and for Dervish since nothing appeared to be happening, but then the bat arced it’s head down and sunk it’s fangs into his shoulder, Dervish was not sure why but whilst he didn’t feel pain he winced at it.

From this however he grabbed the bat with his free hand and put his torch to it’s back, the bat screeched and writhed around whilst it’s teeth were still inside Dervish’s avatar, resulting in ripping and tearing to occur before finally the bat disappeared into the explosion of harmless green pixels like anything else that expires in this game. He did however recover another ore and decided that now he had 6/10 ores he would head back to the surface and look for them in a safer location. One without bats, since he had 2 HP left total not and it put him on edge.

The slow crawl back up the icy slope was difficult. Even after recovering his sword which took a long time trying to dislodge his sword, inching it out by lifting it up and pulling it down was tiring, and not he had to climb a wet icy slope by lodging his sword into the ice and pulling himself up. In fact he almost reached the top sometimes and slid back down. This caused great irritation to him but he was always inching to the top of the slope.

He got desperate, putting his body in awkward angles to keep himself where he was on the slope. Using his sword to make a grip for himself. Luckily though he saw another large chunk of the ore in the ice, which when he tapped it he got his favorite message he could receive Obtained: <Black Metal Ore> x2. That made 8! Dervish was so happy he almost let go of his sword as he was nearing the end of his quest.

Eventually he neared the top and began to head for the exit, slowly but surely and paying extra care to not disturb any more bats since he couldn’t take another hit such as he did previously. Looking at his health bar he only had about ⅓ of it remaining and this scared him a little but not enough to quit now. Not so close to the end.

Dervish trying to avoid drawing attention to himself was not going as planned at all. He managed to disturb several bat swarms and sadly he managed to disturb one too many. As yet another large bat appeared much like the one before, except this one was on full health and looked mean. Very mean in fact due to the fact that one of it’s ears looked like it had been chewed off.

Dervish took a deep gulp as he saw this creature, though no engagement had occurred yet he decided to hang back and wait for the bat to attack. The bat did not take a massive amount of time to begin, maybe twenty odd seconds but when it did it seemed to skyrocket straight towards Dervish’s face, only to which did Dervish duck and begin sprinting towards the exit, hoping that he could find another piece of ore on his way out, but he would fight if absolutely necessary, just with his health as it was, and his self without a shield meant that he could not fight very easily or as he was comfortable with. So for now in the battle of fight or flight, flight won and Dervish was sprinting for the exit.

Dervish ran and heard the screech of the bat, it was close and dangerous. For some reason Dervish sensed something and ducked quickly, as a result the small bat sailed over his head and collided with the wall. Dervish in a fit of rage got up and ran to the bat with sword in hand. And very hard and very quickly ran to it and drove his sword deep into the face of the bat. It was odd as the bat writhed around rather lifelike as he was in his death throes.

After the bat stopped moving and Dervish removed his sword, the body grew limp and disappeared into the rather serene and beautiful array of pixels much as the others did, only now he felt hollow as he realised something within himself. He would always seem to stay and fight. Regardless of the danger it represented he would fight. But now he had to get out.

On his way out however he came across one of the largest pieces of ore he had seen and as a result walked up to it and tapped it, this gave him the notification of Obtain 10 <Black Metal Ore> completed, which was met with a very loud “YES!!!â€

He began the long walk back to the town as soon as he left. however sadly the storm cycle started again. This made the walk back difficult as he could not actually see the road in front of him, and although there wasn’t actually any snow build up, he still couldn’t see his hand in front of his face. It was cold too, like insanely cold, but due to the brew he drank he didn’t get any negatives. It just meant that he couldn’t see and the wind was pushing against him all the while.

It was a long walk back and sadly due to his lack of sight he had more than one fall here and there such as falling down to the next spiral of the path before collapsing down and hunkering in a small alcove until the storm passed.

By the time the storm had dissipated, it was night time, he moved through the dark, using the torch he hadn’t bothered to relinquish from the cave. But ultimately it helped him make it back to the inn where he simply stood outside of for a moment, looking at his injuries and assessing the damage. It wasn’t too bad in hindsight and this could be healed through the use of the inn and some rest.

Eventually Dervish decided to head inside the the inn and  sat down, luckily he had taken damage and slowly that began to heal, he took a room and slept. Whilst he slept and his wounds recovered, he dreamt about what he would be doing in future, such as tanking a boss whilst he was taking minimal damage from everything his allies would be killing that areas boss, he wouldn’t need to deal any damage to them, he would just need to not take any, he knew what he was going to do. He was going to support everyone he possibly could, by any means necessary.

The next morning he awoke and headed down into the main hall and sat there for a moment, he found it odd that the glowing red areas where he was injured just disappeared and there was no marks to boot, this seemed odd because it meant that people could never tell how hurt you might have been in the first place. But still, he had to go back to the town of beginnings. He waved off to the innkeeper and thanked them

As he headed to the teleporter platform he thought about his time on the fourth floor, he hadn't explored it due to the rather colossal gap between the mobs and himself apart from the bats in the cave. But he looked over the place and told himself "You are gonna come back and crush those large monsters someday".

When he opened his map, he smiled and thought back once more, he did a lot to get his first quest complete, and ultimately he created a wall for himself. Thinking that there was some kind of difficulty curve to learn with, but in truth this whole game is a mental battle to see who performs better overall in this struggle. Since it was about both levels and risking your life to get better skill wise and despite his current status, he hadn't met anybody else worth partying with since he needed to collect yet more abilities and skills.
