9Lives 0 Posted February 27, 2014 #21 Share Posted February 27, 2014 9Lives lept over the fallen vine that he <> continuing around to the creatures left as he saw the blurring attack of his partner dash forward. at this range the <> would do him no good so he threw his sword over his shoulder to charge his next attack. to his surprise his partners attack came up short instantly drawing the creatures attention. <> attack was easily blocked leaving the perfect opening from the side as 9Lives activated <>
9Lives 0 Posted February 27, 2014 #22 Share Posted February 27, 2014 9Lives leapt forward with his blade extended into a devastating thrust attack cutting the creatures life in half. the moment he touched the ground on the other side he called Switch! knowing that his proximity was to close to <> and could be a problem it it wasn't taken down before it could retaliate. He dropped to his knees with his shield forward to protect from an oncoming attack.
Saix 0 Posted February 28, 2014 Author #23 Share Posted February 28, 2014 He may have misjudged the distance on his previous attempt at <>, but this time he would do better, he had to do better, he couldn't afford to make mistakes like that in battle. Not if he wanted to survive and leave this accursed game. Crouching low and bent forward, and pulling his sword back he charged his skill, the second 9Lives pulled himself into a defensive position behind his shield, Saix released his charging <>. Saix 0 Posted February 28, 2014 Author #24 Share Posted February 28, 2014 He darted forward in an instant, closing the gap to <> in a flash of leather and the crimson color of his cloak. His sword scythed upward in a single upward slash, cleaving through the squat mushroom like body of his target in a gleaming arc that was almost too fast to follow. A digital spray of red followed the attack almost like an arterial spray, as his momentum carried him past his target. He had time to play the cool cat by standing a sheathing his sword without sparing his target a backwards glance, before <> dissolved into a spray of polygons like a peal of breaking glass. Oh yeah, he made this look good.
9Lives 0 Posted February 28, 2014 #25 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Not wanting to waste time, 9Lives quickly scanned the area for the final roaming mob. with it out of the way they could make their assault on the mini boss and complete the quest. with the creature in sight, 9Lives signaled Saix and took off to take aggro. once he entered the creatures aggro zone it turned instinctively to the incoming threat. 9Lives shield already glowing blue form the charge he waited for the creatures attack like so many times before. as it came in he activated <>. 9Lives 0 Posted February 28, 2014 #26 Share Posted February 28, 2014 It had become something of a technique or a science to them now, the way they assaulted mobs switching in back and forth with stun locks and deadly attacks. this time was no different and the shield knocked <> <> to the side stunning it. Immediately as the shield made contact the called to his partner, Switch!
Saix 0 Posted March 1, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Like a well oiled machine the pair smoothly switched to their new targets, intent upon mowing down any enemies that might have stood in the way. Thus far they had encountered little in the way of resistance, both were gaining moderate Xp, and had started the quest over leveled. These low level mobs presented little in the way of real danger, but were perfect for ingraining the various <> they would depend on to survive the higher floors into muscle memory. Upon 9Lives calling out for a <>, Saix leaped into the fray his sword glowing with a blue light as he primed his attack with a stamp of the foot.
Saix 0 Posted March 1, 2014 Author #28 Share Posted March 1, 2014 His sword moved with a blur, first a horizontal slash from left to right across the creature's chest region, followed by another horizontal slash from right to left at waist height. The skill wasn't done yet, however, as Saix spun a full circle on his heal unleashed a third horizontal strike from right to left in a blur before ripping to the right, and up in a vertical slash... As his skill finished a 2D square formed by the sword trail seems to fade away as Saix completes the one-handed straight sword skill <> a quick mid level 4 hit combo, sending their enemy reeling from the four lighting fast blows. Dancing backwards with his shield up at the ready, Saix switches to playing defense, forcing the creature to shift focus and come after him so that his friend might deliver the coup'de'grace. "Switch!" He called.
9Lives 0 Posted March 2, 2014 #29 Share Posted March 2, 2014 9 Lives was prepped as his partner attacked in a system assisted flurry that looked no less impressive. He drew his sword back charging once again for his favored attack with this ridiculous blade. The blade began to glow golden as the flurry ended and his partner called <>. 9Lives then activated <> in hopes of finishing of the final of the roaming mobs and get on to the target. 9Lives 0 Posted March 2, 2014 #30 Share Posted March 2, 2014 9Lives launched forward to attack with <> moving in a blur but the creatures abrupt aggro switch drew him out of the range the attack just as he reached the end of the distance. The blade swung down missing the target and 9lives rolled forward pulling his shield up to guard with his blade resting on his shoulder held vertically with the point down to shield his head and body from the aggro'd attack. if he was going to get hit, <> was going to get hurt in the process. 9Lives 0 Posted March 2, 2014 #31 Share Posted March 2, 2014 9Lives braced for the attack calling <> to his partner. The hit floored him to the ground but for the most part the shield had saved him. Stunned all he could do is hope his partner could finish the creature before he sustained any real damage. It was a block that he could have handled thousands of time had he the proper equipment but that was the nature of the game.
Saix 0 Posted March 2, 2014 Author #32 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Saix dashed forward at the shouted command, dropping his sword low as though he were attempting to sheath it on his belt. This Sword Skill technically had two activation commands, the traditional over the shoulder, and this secondary command. Saix had found that activating the One-Handed Straight Sword Skill <> in this manner was usually faster then trying to find the correct balance when activating <> from over the shoulder. As he made his combat motion, the stubby blade of his <> flared an intense blue.
Saix 0 Posted March 2, 2014 Author #33 Share Posted March 2, 2014 He realized that the attack was not going to connect before he had even finished the motion. As fast as this secondary means of activating the skill might have been, it simply was not fast enough. <> was too focused on his partner, and had lurched toward him the second Saix attempted to use his skill. Unfortunately, once a Sword Skill is started, it cannot be interrupted until it has been completed, so Saix had no choice but to waste precious seconds to go through the motion of his <> Sword Skill. On the bright side, it did distract <> and draw the creature's hate, effectively peeling it off of it's focus on 9Lives. It had a few steps it would need to take before it was close enough to attack, enough time for 9Lives to possibly get off a <>. "Switch!"
9Lives 0 Posted March 2, 2014 #34 Share Posted March 2, 2014 The creature turned in what 9Lives could only figure was an attempt my his partner Saix that had ended with as big of success as 9Lives' own attack. 9Lives hopped up to his feet aided by his acrobatics and set his sword on his should charging for his next attack. his blade began to glow gold once more and he activated
9Lives 0 Posted March 2, 2014 #35 Share Posted March 2, 2014 He leapt forward aided by his acrobatics thrusting the curved blade through the creatures back. The blade tore through as he landed on the other side with his back to the creature. knowing the attack laded and wanting to release his frustration on his missed attack, 9Lives reversed his grip on his blade and trust it back behind him into the creature as it shattered. The raining polygons cascaded over him. he pulled his blade forward and switched his grip back to standard. I don't...like...missing. he said under his breath letting go of the frustration. Saix 0 Posted March 3, 2014 Author #36 Share Posted March 3, 2014 Saix simply shook his head with a chuckle, before turning his attention back to the task at hand. Two <> remained, both slightly larger than normal, one with a strange flower blooming from it's head, the other with a large fruit. "We have to kill the one with the flower, it will drop the <> needed for this quest. But do not aggro the one with the fruit. It will attract all the <> spawns in the area, and we will probably die." he said, his attention focused on the strange plant creature with the red flower blooming from it's head. It certainly didn't seem that dangerous, with it's stubby little vine feet, long vine arms, and big bulbous head with a giant wide mouth.
Saix 0 Posted March 3, 2014 Author #37 Share Posted March 3, 2014 He dropped his hand to his belt, and pulled free one of his throwing picks. Taking aim, he narrowed his focus and concentrated on his target, before making a motion as though he were going to throw a dart, pulling the needle like pick behind his ear. <> activated with a pale blue light, and his skill was primed. Releasing the skill, he sent the pick flying in line of blue, burying itself in <> head region with a satisfying thunk. With a little shriek of indignation, the meter tall man eating plant began to waddle their way angrily. This spawn had way more health than the previous <> spawns they had been facing, at least 3 times the health, Saix would guess. They were going to have to be careful. "Alright, here he comes... Switch!"" Saix: 15/15 9Lives: 11/11 Flowering Little Nepent: 10/
9Lives 0 Posted March 3, 2014 #38 Share Posted March 3, 2014 9Lives held his position only fanning out to pincer the target between the two. He didn't want to charge in and risk getting into the aggro radius of the other creature. 9 Lives would start as forward gauging the creatures movement speed and attack range. As the creature got closer, he pulled his blade back behind him to charge his attack. once it came into range he activated <>
9Lives 0 Posted March 3, 2014 #39 Share Posted March 3, 2014 9Lives misjudged the distance on the creature with the ability activation. flying forward in a flash with a downward slash, he appeared in front of the <> with the blade swiping before its face. 9lives' eyes widened as he was now face to face with the mini boss. He snapped quickly reacting to the situation calling Switch! before diving into a roll to the side to run out thankful of his investment of acrobatics and sprint.
Saix 0 Posted March 3, 2014 Author #40 Share Posted March 3, 2014 Saix charged forward, shield at the ready. Things were getting dangerous now. He had already drawn aggro with his <>, but he wasn't sure who would have aggro now, as 9Lives had attempted an attack and missed right in front of the creature. As he was the higher level of the two, he decided it would be safer for him to ensure that he had the higher <> of the two, and kept the <> attention fixed on him. So he drew his sword down and back, a position that looked very similar to sheathing the blade on his belt, and activated his One-Handed Straight Sword skill <>, the blade flaring a pale blue before arcing up in a slash that left a spray of red across the creature's broad face. Hunkering down behind his buckler, Saix let the creature's vine whips slam hard into his shield, rocking him back a step as he stood before the creature's wrath. He did not call a Switch, and instead waited for 9Lives to use the opportunity to attack while it was focused on him.
