Meokka checked over her rumor notes and walked around on the 9th floor. She waved her hand to call up another screen.

<<CC: To: Teayre, Calrex>>

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm on floor 9, Phoenix Town.

Meet if convenient, it's about that rumor I heard. With the quest feeding the enemy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The heat didn't bother her, but she wasn't use to things dancing in the distance. This was a trick caused by the heat. She didn't mind it though. She'd be forging in no time. While she thought about it, this place seemed nice. Yet perhaps it was far too obvious a place. Yet could that mean the materials would lean more towards blacksmiths here? She had to wonder about that. After a few moments she looked around herself and happened upon a group of people. "Excuse me, can you tell me about the materials here?" Eventually she came to the conclusion that it was mostly for aesthetics and appeal why the blacksmiths flocked here.

There was a lot of dancing today. Belly dancers and other types of performers were out and about. The music was pretty catchy. The city was pretty lively with a festival. She almost couldn't wait to explain it all to Teayre and Calrex-sama.

As Teayre just finished making her latest piece a PM comes up on her screen reading it she feels her whole body tense as it was from Meokka, she wanted help with the feeding the enemy quest. Sighing she gathers her weapons and armour and heads out to the ninth floor as she spawns in Teayre notices a festival going on. Sighing she grips her blade tightly looking to the sky, searching for something that wasn’t there.

Huffing around Vulcan she spots a familiar blue haired lance wielding girl walking around asking various people questions about the materials on this floor. A grim smile crept onto her lips as Teayre approached the girl. “Hey Meo. You wanted a hand? The quest is fairly-“ Teayre’s voice caught as she was speaking to the girl placing her fist in her mouth she turns away as a tear starts to roll down her face. Shrugging off any attempt to turn her or to console her.

"Hm? Huh, I guess Meo's taking me up on that offer."

Calrex was hanging out on the first floor when he saw the PM from Meokka to both him and Teayre, asking for assistance with the <<Feeding the Enemy>> quest. It still was fairly recent that he remembered that they had lost Beleram, so the memory was still fresh as he gave a calming breath.

"No...I've got to go and help. I owe it to that eagle to assist others with finding helpful companions...right?"

He looked down at the Ocean's Defense around his neck and the Grand Blade on the back of his hip as he made his way to the teleportation circle, arriving in Vulcan. Seeing Meokka he began walking over, but as he looked he saw Teayre, seeming upset. As if in instinct he engaged his <<Sprint>> ability and was almost instantly next to the two, "Hey Meo...Teayre are you alright?"

Even thought she tried to shrug off his attempts to console her he went in front of her and wrapped her up in a tight embrace, whispering in her ear, "It's gonna be alright. It's still recent...but I'm here for you. I'm sure that Beleram, even though he was a creature in the world, wouldn't want to see you crying over him like this..."

Meokka watched Teayre in horror a moment. She hadn't figured out why she was crying, and when she went to place her hand on Teayre's shoulder the woman just shrugged her off. She didn't even notice Cal-rex until he was in front of them. She jumped a bit surprised to see him. She watched the young lovers embrace and felt a bit confused. She saluted feeling awkward then quickly turned around. She was still at attention. She wanted to help but had no idea how to. Her chest ached with the desire and knowledge of what to do in such a situation. Though because she never experienced such a thing before she just waited with a cringed expression of slight self loathing and helplessness.

(Meo & Cal Have permission to god mode Teayre on the NEXT post they make)

“LET GO OF ME!†Pushing Calrex away Teayre’s voice echoed throughout the plaza, the music nearby stopping as people turned to look. “S-sorry Cal… Explain to Meo please I’ll be outside the settlement.†Tears running down her face Teayre ran her <Sprint> skill activating as she hurtled through the ninth floor town of Vulcan. Leaping through the bridge in a few deft movements the girl stopped as she reached the end before she starts to look over it stepping over the barrier she holds onto the rope behind her leaning forwards looking down into the firey abyss below her. “Huh… I wonder what it’s like… Is it painless… I hope it was Beleram… You know I wish I could see you again… Perhaps… Perhaps I can.†Teayre’s fingers start to loosen she’s still holding onto the rope but barely.

As Calrex saw Teayre run off he looked over at Meokka before giving a sigh, "Yeah we're not doing that. Come on!"

Using his own <<Sprint>> ability Calrex quickly caught up to Teayre, seeing her beginning to step of the bridge.

"After all that's happened...Are you f****** serious?! "

He quickly closed the distance to her as he forcefully grabbed Teayre by the hand, moving with such strength that it seemed like he was using a skill as he pulled her off the bridge. As he got over to a nearby wall he pushed her to it before slamming his arms into the wall, his fingers partially sinking in with his hands around Teayre's wrists, pinning her.

"Really Teayre? Is that the way you want it all to end?! You IDIOT!"

After his initial burst of rage Calrex was silent for a second as he spoke again, his voice shuddering out of anger and sadness at the same time. His arms shook as the Grand Gauntlets made small ticking sounds from the vibrations, "What do you think Beleram would think of what you're doing? Don't you think if he was here right now he'd be pecking you in the face? Think for a damn second: What kind of friend goes and kills themselves because another died? Don't you get it, that's s****** on their memory. Your don't die for your friends, you live for them...you dedicate every second you are alive, rather than the moment of your death..."

As he continued speaking the ground beneath where his head was became wet as tears descended from his eyes, "Dammit think for a second. Don't you remember what you said to me back then? That I'd protect our bodies while you protect our minds?...how the hell can you expect to do that...if you're gone...how can you expect me to...gh..."

As he felt the strength in his words leave he gritted his teeth as he tilted his head down, his bangs masking his eyes.

Meokka hurried after him and saw how Calrex treated Teayre for a minute. She wasn't sure what Calrex was yelling about. Something about ending it, and swearing. Meokka reached out and yanked him by the hair.

"SIR don't you hurt Tear-chan!"

She quickly tried to pull Calrex off of Teayre even though he was probably stronger than her, Meokka had to try! After she realized she wouldn't really move this wall of a man, she quickly ducked under his arm and hugged onto Teayre pulling the smaller woman close against herself. Meokka held on. She wasn't sure why they were fighting but didn't want it to continue!

“The fire… It’s pretty… Really pretty… It makes me warm ins-“ Teayre’s sentence was cut off as Calrex grabbed her, pinning her to the floor. Watching the blue haired boy cry in front of her Teayre’s lips where twisted in pain as her eyes were red and emotionless as she looked into Calrex’s eyes. “I wanted to – gr. Cal you’re… You’re hurting me.â€

Feeling someone tug at her arm, Teayre turns her head smiling at Meokka. “It’s okay, Meo he’s only angry because he’s hurt… It’s my fault honestly he’s okay, you can let go of me.†Looking back round at Calrex Teayre leans in kissing him hard on the lips. “If I’m gone I wouldn’t cause you any pain… You wouldn’t have to look over your shoulder at me, the guild would be safer. I wouldn’t think every second about you, checking my friends list when I’m not with you to make sure you’re alive. I’VE NOT FELT LIKE THIS BEFORE CALREX. NOT BEFORE YOU. I’M SCARED IT’S EATING ME INSIDE…†Pausing for a moment Teayre snivels as she looks at him, “I’m worried of the pain I’ll face if I lose you… If losing Beleram hurts this much, then what’d happen if…â€

Averting her gaze Teayre struggles against Calrex’s grip before breaking free her arms sliding round his neck as she held herself to him. “I don’t want to lose my fiancée… I don’t, I don’t.†

As Teayre spoke to Meokka and held him close his head remained tilted down before he heard her speak. The light in his eyes were dimmed from his tears as he was silent, listening to her.

"I’m worried of the pain I’ll face if I lose you… If losing Beleram hurts this much, then what’d happen if…I don’t want to lose my fiancée… I don’t, I don’t."

As he heard those words he spoke in response, trying to sound as calm as collected as he was, the way he usually was. It was still fairly clear that the strength in his words were gone, but there was still the determination that he had build ever since Beleram's death, "...idiot...you don't think I'd feel the same way...?"

His arms weakened as his fingers extracted from the ground, leaving small craters where each was as he fully let himself fall prone, "Don't you remember what I told you before, the pain that I went through each time...You're scared of the pain that it would cause you if I were to die; How do you think I would...how everyone you care about would feel if you were gone...where's your self-worth?"

He gave a small sigh, as if defeated, "Honestly, I'm probably scared too Teayre. Scared that someone or something will take you away. Why do you think I keep pushing myself to become stronger by leaps and bounds, to protect you and everyone I care about? I don't want to lose anyone to this death game...not if I can do something about it..."

Meokka moved back and just listened to them. She took their hands and placed them on each other and placed hers on top for a bit. She realized now Teayre lost Beleram.

"What I'm about to say. May sound cold, but let me finish okay...." she was worried her very blunt nature would make this sound awful. "Beleram, is a computer programe, just code. Now. In theory the code will always be rewritten by the server to compensate for lost mobs. That means Beleram was rewritten. He's not gone. He's just out there somewhere, reborn with amnesia of his past. So. when you're ready. I'm sure he's waiting for you. Waiting for you to retake this quest and find him. His data can't all be deleted if the base of his data is needed for a mob spawn. So. you just have to find him again. Right?" Meokka asked. "Find him and become friends all over again." he looked off. "Like how you'll fall in love with Calrex-sama when we all get out of this death game. You'll see each other for the first time a second time." she nodded to them. "I'll leave you two have a moment okay." she let go of their hands and gave them both a pat on the back and got up.

She hoped that was the right thing to say. She didn't want to push Teayre into the quest if she didn't want to be in it. She felt a bit bad now for doing this to the woman.

The tears running down her face Teayre pushed herself away out from underneath Calrex standing before glaring down at him, her eyes soft. The glare wasn’t meant for him and Teayre knew it, it was meant for her. “YOU THINK I CARE ABOUT ME. I DON’T CAL I JUST CARE ABOUT YOU.†A few small silent breaths later she adds “I did care about Beleram… Before… Before…â€

Shaking her head she pushes past Meokka drawing her katana as the small girl headed out into the wilderness of the floor her coat flapping around her, the silver snake necklace gently tapping again her chest. Stopping at the gate she looks over her shoulder at Meokka and Calrex, her eyes seem dim her voice was curt as she spoke. “Let’s do this. Meo have you got the food required? I’ll meet you an hours walk out. Calrex give me some time keep an eye on Meo… She won’t struggle on this floor by herself.â€

As the small red headed girl finished speaking she dashed out her eyes flicking to the dragon whelps either side of her as they seemed to ignore her. The thudding of her own feet sounded like music to her ears as a slight breeze wafted her hair out of eyes. Beleram was gone, even though his code was likely to be reused it wouldn’t be Beleram. It never could be the eagle would be different to how it originally was. She stopped eyeing up a creature before her, smiling crookedly as she started to approach it.

As Teayre pulled herself out from under him Calrex took note of her words as he gave a small sigh to himself, getting back to his feet. He definitely wasn't back to his normal self as he watched his fiancee walk off.

"Well at least she didn't try to jump off the bridge. Nonetheless..."

"YOU THINK I CARE ABOUT ME. I DON’T CAL I JUST CARE ABOUT YOU."

"So I guess that promise of not losing myself in the process of protecting you didn't go both ways. Heh, well...I guess I probably could have handled that better than I did. I lost my calm in the moment. I'll need to be more careful about that in the future..."

He quickly brushed off the wetness from his face as he gave a calming breath, assuming his friendly persona as he turned to face Meokka, donning his Grand Chariot armor, "Alright, if she's not gonna be far away we should be alright. Come on, you still need to get some food for taming the creature right? Let's get that taken care of and get back to Teayre..."

As he turned he made a few swipes on his menu, turning on the player tracker as he kept track of Teayre on it.

"At least this way we can make sure she doesn't go off and do something rash while we're gathering the good. The distance she ran should be nothing in terms of time to cover if I remove the Grand Chariot."

"Was it wrong of me to add you to this venture? I can handle this on my own should you have to run after her. I don't mind. She's important to me. More important to me than data that can become an asset to my endevours. I see how the queen treats Kimba. How Teayre treated her bird. I know better than to get attached and have sentiment over something that doesn't truelly exist. Lest my judgement be clouded on who is more important. Human or data. I'm not willing to travel further until Teayre is with us. She's more important to me. That's the end of that. I will follow you to her if I must. Though id you'd rather handle the situation yourself I'm all right with that. I feel for her, she's more important than this quest, and I know I have maybe a cold way of looking at it or saying it. It's just how it is though. So go after her. I'll leave it to you if I should follow."

"What am I doing... Is it right for me to do this? Beleram I miss him... I miss him... Cal... I... I ..."

Bringing her menu up Teayre quickly punches out a message to Calrex, tears beginning to form in her eyes as she fell down to her knees.

Subject: <Insert Subject Here>

From: Teayre

I'm sorry I shouldn't of done that.

Teayre

As she sent the message her head flicked up and she glared at the creature growling at her, a smooth sleek black feline was in front of her. The beast was sat on its haunches as it cocked it's head at Teayre it's mouth curling as if it was smiling at her.

"I guess today's my lucky day." Spitting the words out dryly at the beast Teayre jumped back her blade coming to her hand. "Let's get this over with."

As Meokka gave her reply to Calrex's statement he looked down as he saw a PM arrive from Teayre. It wasn't as compete as her other posts and seemed in a rush. He looked over at his teammate as he gave a calming breath, collecting himself, "You're right. I'll go and talk to her, so go ahead and get the food you need for this quest. And...I'm sorry for my rash actions earlier. It looked like she was going to...well I'll leave it at that. I'll message you once everything has settled."

Calrex turned as he used his locator to lock onto Teayre's position before using his <<Sprint>> ability to rush in that direction. As he moved he responded to the message.

Subject: <Insert Subject Here>
From: Calrex

It's alright. I'm making my way over to you. Meo's grabbing the food for the quest, but she said she won't continue until everything has been settled. Take all of the time you need, but I'd like to be there for you. I promise I won't say anything if you need to let it all out.

Calrex

"I wonder how long she's been keeping this in. To think I missed something so important..."

Meokka nodded feeling as though Calrex could handle it. He figured it was a more personal matter and because he didn't tell her to go with him, she respected their relationship and allowed him to chase her on his own.

"I'll go start the quest then."

She was a little annoyed. She wanted them there for this but it couldn't be helped. She also hoped that Teayre was all right. She wondered what had gotten into her lately. She did want to ask but at the same time was it her right to ask? Her ways of growing up were that if a person were to talk to you that was fine. You are not to question them because you yourself would not wish to be questioned. Then again she never thought she had anything negative she was holding in that would make her act out. What happened to poor Teayre?

She inhaled and went to a purple tent in the town to talk with a gypsy lady.

A ping caused Teayre to raise her head seeing Calrex’s message she smiles weakly before she charges the beast in front of her, the Oikawa Kanashiki whistling through the air. The mass of black before her was ready however and leapt out of the way before swiping at Teayre, its claws protruding from its paw were black like obsidian and where roughly the size of an ice pick. Barely managing to bring her katana up in time to block the strike Teayre grits her teeth as she struggles to hold back its attack. Her arms bent slightly more as she thought of Meokka, "Meo... I'm... I'm sorry. Damnit Teayre don't give in. Come on you need to stay strong and help her get her own familiar... Don't be selfish."

As Calrex finally arrived as where Teayre's location marker was directing him he looked in surprise as he saw her engaging a monster. It seemed to be the game's feline counterpart to the wolves of the second floor, a panther-like cat. Seeing the feline's paw locked with the Oikawa Kanshiki he quickly reached back and unlocked the Grand Blade from its sheath, but not fully drawing it. He felt the overwhelming calm rush over him, like the calm before a raging storm.

With that he rushed forward, using his <<Sprint>> ability to move torward the feline with explosive force. As he got into striking range he drew his sword in a reverse grip, but instead of slashing he thrust his arm forward in a punch, the handle guard of the Grand Blade slamming into the monster's chest area. The built up momentum of Calrex's advance impacted with explosive force, sending the monster reeling back. Not wasting a second he used his ability once again to close the distance as he ended his step next to the feline, his sword arm raised high as he impaled the creature through the back before hurling it back towards Teayre, "Sorry for the delay. Switch!"

She went into the strange tend on her own and sat down. A Gypsy in white sat across from her. A crystal ball between them. She placed 100 Col on the table and the woman took it without hesitation. She smiled with black teeth at Meokka.

"Please, place your hand on the crystal ball to locate your familiar. Only the one that is true to your soul shall appear."

She placed her hand on the orb. The candles all went out in the tent, and it was dark. The room spun around. Meokka looked seeing stars all around her. It was like she was in space. There were novas and black-holes all around here. The dazzling lights captivated her attention and imagination. After a moment passed everything was dark again.

"Please remove your hand."

She did so, and a whispy blue projection of a rabbit was seen above them. Yet this hare seemed to have an aura around it.

"The Phoenix Hare."

"A what?"

"A fire rabbit, with long ears, red coat and gold coat. The one you seek, when it accepts you, will show you a holy blue fire."

"Blue fire?"

"The hottest of flames burn blue."

"Why's it called a Phoenix Hare?"

"They are extremely lucky. They'll either find you what you seek, or heal you. They are also difficult to befriend. Take these flame pellets. One will eventually follow you. Good luck."

Meokka took the bag of food. The lighting in the room became normal. When she looked up the NPC was gone. She sat there and then ran out to join up with Calrex and Teayre!

Shaking her head she smiles weakly at Calrex, “It’s… It’s okay, how’s Meo doing?†As Teayre saw Calrex dash in the girl took a step back smiling sheepishly at the boy.  Hearing his call to switch Teayre grips her blade rolling to the side as the black creature begins to move in on Calrex its feline back arching as it pounces forwards, missing the blue haired boys face by mere inches. Gritting her teeth Teayre dashes back into the fray her sword swirling around her wrist as she grips it her other hand resting on the pommel she drives it home into the creature. “Cal Switch! I hope Meo’s okay, damnit we’re going to have to hunt for her familiar after this.†As Teayre finished talking her eyes went wide he concentration lapsing as the creature she was fighting broke free from her pin and pushed away.
