Jomei ran at the boar again. This idea of running back and forth was boring him, he wished he could have fought something with more attacks than a charge attack. He swung his sword at the boar, but the boar merely blocked it with its tusk again. He growled as his sword bounced back. He tried again, just to have the boar sidestep away from his sword. The boar took this as an opportunity to attack Jomei at close range. Thinking quickly, he rolled his body. Doing this, he rolled over the boar as it ran under him. He landed on his feet and watched as the boar, confused, looked around and then turned snorting loudly.

The boar ran at Jomei again, who had lifted his shield and was holding it with his left hand, using his right hand to support it as well.

When the boar got in front of Jomei, he expected it to leap at him, but instead, targeted his legs, trying to knock him off his feet. 

Thinking quickly, Jomei dropped, his knee hitting the ground. Now he was level with the charging boar.  The boar made contact with his shield. Jomei grunted as the boar pushed him back, knocking him onto his behind. He was managing to hold the boar back with his shield. He saw steam start to pour from the front of his shield. The effects of the burning shield were working, but the boar would not let up. It continued to push into Jomei.

As the boar pressed harder and harder into Jomei's shield, he found this a perfect opportunity to strike at the boar while it wasn't moving. Knowing if he took his sword hand out from behind the shield, the boar would be able to over power him in this state. He took a deep breath before making his move.

Jomei quickly pulled his rapier and hand out from behind his shield and ran the sword sideways, plunging it into the boar. 

This just got the boar even angrier, despite being on its last legs. It pushed hard, knocking Jomei's shield back, smacking it into his own face. 

Everything was getting blurry to Jomei, he knew he wasnt about to die, but that hit to the head really jumbled his brain. Through the blur, he saw the boar squealing and thrashing, before toppling over from the sizzling heat of Jomei's shield. 

Jomei rubbed his forehead, where there was now a large gash from his shield hitting him. 

He had taken out another boar.

He had lucked out, despite not getting any col from defeating the boar, he still managed to snag the materials needed for making his coat.

He slowly got up, "I need to sit down for a moment.. " He found a nice rock not too far from him, it didn't look like there were any boars in the area too. He sat down next to the large rock and leaned against it, he closed his eyes, breathing heavily. "Who wouldve thought i'd have to kill a bunch of boars.. just to get a jacket.. I should've just paid for it." He sighed. He rested for 10 minutes, drinking some of his water than he had just taken out of his inventory and doing some thinking. After he finished his water, he threw the bottle, shattering into data as it hit the floor. He stood up again. "Last one.." he said, as he searched for another boar to defeat.

He watched as another boar crossed his path. He decided he wanted to get this over and done with as soon as possible. He took a deep breath, and drew his sword. He looked up at his HP, he still had more than he did when he first took out a boar, so he should be fine.. but he did not want to be too reckless. 

He jumped out from his hiding spot and ran towards the boar, his sword to his side. He wanted to end this one quickly, faster than any other other battles.

He ran quickly toward the boar, "Hyaah!" He thrusted his sword forward, hoping to connect, but just barely missed it. The boar took this as an opportunity to throw its body sideways, pounding Jomei in the chest. Jomei took the hit, and rolled on the floor. He was not able to block it with his shield, due to the speed of the hit. He quickly recovered and prepared for his next run.

Jomei did not waste any time. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he took off again, sprinting toward the boar. He held his sword across his body as he ran, in an attempt to slash the boar diagonally. Once he got to the boar's front side, he swung his sword, hitting the boar's tusk "God da-" Just then, the boar head butted Jomei in the forehead as he sped toward him. This sent him into a flip over the boar, and he hit the ground with a loud thud. "Ow.." He pushed himself up off the ground, slouched over slightly. His health was dropping more than he hoped in this fight, and he still hadnt laid a finger on the beast.

Jomei was breathing heavily. He turned around to face the boar, the gash on his forehead had gotten bigger from his enemy's attack. His face took a very serious look, full of rage, as he stared down the boar. "I.. Im not gonna die.." He switched to defense, as he raised his shield. Before he could attack, the boar was already charging into him. A simple attack. Jomei had enough strength to block the boar with his shield. The shock still did him a bit of damage. He grinned as he heard the sound of sizzling skin, followed by the boar squealing in pain. He flicked the shield sideways, knocking the boar to the side.

Jomei was getting tired and weak. He was breathing heavily as he watched the boar pace back and forth. The two ran at each other, exchanging blows, but both of them could not connect. They each sent out a flurry of blows, each either missing, or being blocked by the others. This continued on as the two walked in a circle around each other. "Just die already!" Jomei yelled as his sword slammed into the boar's tusk. He was getting angry, which was not good for his focus. He wasnt a power hitter, but focused on accuracy and precision for his strikes. At this moment, he was swinging with all of his might.

After swinging his sword for countless seconds, trying to hit this boar, he finally made contact. It was not a critical strike, but it was enough to boost his spirits a bit. The sword slashed across the boar's cheek, and it squealed in pain as it flinched. This gave Jomei the chance to get some distance from it and cool himself down, bring him back to reality. Once he got far enough away, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He began to hum a light, Irish pub song to himself, and began to think of someone. He smiled, and turned back around to face the boar. His eyes had returned to their normal state, and he had the grin still on his face.

Jomei took his battle stance, and stood on the balls of his feet, bouncing back and forth. He let out his deep breath, he continued to grin and was still humming his song. ((His battle theme)).

The boar raised the front of its body, squealing. When it hit the floor, it charged Jomei. Jomei, planted his feet into the ground as the boar collided with his shield. His boots dug into the dirt a bit with the hit, and he flinched. But he was still standing. The boar squealed in pain again as the shield's hot surface burned its head. "Haha, stupid overgrown pig." He hit his sword against his shield, grinning.

The boar took a run at Jomei again. With his shield up and sword at his side, Jomei side stepped the boar. It continued to thrash about, trying to hit Jomei with his tusks, but he continued to step out of the way of the boar's attacks. He chuckled "So thats what I looked like! Hah! I looked like quite the tool!" The boar snorted as it continued to hit Jomei, but was not able to.

The boar took one last charge at Jomei, snorting and squealing loudly as it approached him. Jomei's sword began to glow gold, and he smiled. "Ah, a bad move my friend." He said to the boar as its tusks began to thrash, before even reaching Jomei. He pulled his sword back, and lowered his center of gravity. Right before the boar could attack, Jomei thrusted his sword forward, piercing the best with 5 swift strikes. It landed short in front of him and vanished into blue data. Jomei stood up straight, sheathed his sword, and put his shied on his back. He smiled again and clenched his fist in front of his body. He had survived.

With the last of the Boar Leather collected, Jomei made a run for the city. He made it this far, he didnt want to get himself killed out here from another boar, or worse. He made it to the inside of the city and chuckled. "Made it." He bagan to make his way for the warp gate, so he could finish this quest once and for all. 

 

With a flash of blue light, Jomei found himself back in the center of the beautiful town known as Delilah Village. He ran down the road to the same blacksmith, Griswold and Hanna's. He ran inside the door to see Griswold and his wife talking, they looked up to see him.

"Ah, so you're back. Found everything you needed?"

"Aye." Jomei said, breathing heavily. He transferred the materials over to Griswold. 

"Looks like you took quite a beating.." Hanna said, worried. 

"Im fine ma'am." Jomei said with a smile.

Griswold took the materials and handed them to Hannah.

Hannah nodded and brought them to a work bench in the back for her to sew together. 

<20 minutes later>

"All finished!" Hanna said, standing in front of Jomei who had fallen asleep on a chair while waiting.

When he came too, he saw a smiling Hanna, behind a screen in front of him saying.

Duelist's Battle Jacket

 

Jomei quickly shot up from his seat, accepted the item, and equipped it.

The jacket fell into place on his body. It was a dark gray jacket that went down to just past his waist. The chest was sturdy and reinforced with the extra leather, just as the shoulders were. The brown sash he usually had across his chest to hold his shield was replaced with a black one. Underneath the jacket, he still had on his dull yellow shirt and his brown scarf.
