[PP-F5] Kill your Fatigue (Traveler Quest) <<Lowenthal and Jomei>>

{It is hot!} Earlier today Skylar got some advice from an old lady. The same old lady that told him how to get Rutta. Now getting Rutta was easy, getting some what lost in a dessert not as much. Rutta was brown, which was hilarious. The normally white snow leopard was covered in sand, giving the normally white beast the look of a sandy rug.

 

Skylar decided to take the quest with Jomei and Lowenthal. Both of them are good fighters, not to mention amusing enough people to be around. "Alright they should be here any minute now."

Lowenthal appeared through the 5th floor teleporter, and immediately ended up with a gust of sand in his face. "Gah! Jesus." One could here him say, in protest to the sudden blast of sand in his face. He took a few steps out and noticed a leopard. Odd choice of desert animal, but then Lowenthal realized. "Oho, Skylar. That you?" He called out, still rubbing the grains from his eyes.

Not long after Lowenthal, Jomei warped onto Floor Five. Last time he was here, he complained about the heat. After being to the 9th floor, however, this was spring weather. There was quite a lot of wind here today, which was not good for visibility.. and breathing right for that matter. As Jomei stepped forward, he was met with a face full of sand. He pulled his scarf up to cover his mouth and nose. At least I can breathe, he thought to himself, Ill worry about my vision later.

 

He found his friends not far from the warp gate. He walked up to them. "Oi! How are you, lads?" Smiled, but the smile could only bee seen with his eyes, for his mouth was covered by his scarf. "Been awhile since we've been up here, eh Skylar?"

The wind and sand was making it a lot more difficult to hear. Luckily his hearing was alright so he heard them both perfectly. "Hey guys! Are you ready for our expedition?" He ignored the question at first, because he had no clue what Jomei was referring too. He had to sit and remember the shark. {Almost forgot all about it. Seeing how the beast was no where near my level.}

 

"Alright guys the objective is to find the cargo caravan. From here on out try to stay alive." With this Skylar entered the desert.

 

From here on out include the craft die in your post. Every CD of 1 takes one health.

Lowenthal looked at Skylar. "I've don't think we've officially met." Lowenthal said, shielding his face from the sand. "Wish we could meet on better terms." He said, wanting to know his party member better.

"Find a cargo caravan? In this desert?!" Jomei was not very fond of the conditions of this quest. Especially under the circumstances of sand particles smacking him in the face. "So!" He yelled up to Skylar, he could barely hear himself in the wind. "What kind of caravan is it?! He squinted from the sand hitting him in the eyes. It was tough to look around to try and find this caravan while the sand decided to try and evict his eyeballs from their sockets.

"Please to meet you!" Skylar waved at the stranger. "My name is Skylar. Normally I meet people under fun circumstances. But this could be just as fun." Never really an issue for Skylar to be polite and introduce himself.

 

"As for the caravan it should be about a day just by traveling alone. It only has a few bandits but I doubt we would have trouble." Skylar was still glad Jomei was here, Hopefully the dude would not get on his nerves later.

Lowenthal felt another gust wind pelt sand against him. "Then let's get out of here!" he shouted over the wind. "Sooner we find this caravan, soon we get out of this damnable wind!" He said, as another gust threw more sand into his red hair. The heat wasn't bothering him as much, as his jacket was white and reflected heat. But it was a jacket, so it's thickness counteracted it.

Jomei combed the desert with his eyes, looking for anything he thought might be their target. "Any idea just how far out this caravan is?" He had a feeling they were going to be in for a long trip, for its not very easy to find something in a desert. Like finding a needle in a haystack.. Where even more hay is being blown around in your eyes.

He wiped sweat from his brow. He thought about unequipping his jacket, the heat was getting to him a bit. But hed rather deal with the heat than have the sand blast away at his arms as well. He grabbed at the collar of the jacket and propped it up, to add some extra coverage.

This time Skylar ignored the question. Answering the same question repeatedly would be a waste. With the blasting wind Skylar was sure it would just get lost again.

 

The heat did not really bother him. He was born and raised in a tropical climate. Heck he roasted marshmallows over a volcano one birthday. The main issue was how dry the air was. Skylar was used too humidity not the dry.

 

Skylar continued to walk in silence. {Why not chat with these guys?} "So what's the haps Jomei?"

Lowenthal looked at Skylar. Kind of hurt that he was just ignored, but it was fine with him. Of he kept his mouth closed, the sand wouldn't get in there. At least Lowenthal still had most of his water from the start of the game. At least he'd stay hydrated for the trip.

Jomei blushed a bit under his scarf when he realized Skylar had already answered that question before. He shrugged.

"Not much, just been around. Fighting some new monsters. Trying to work out business with a music hall." He scratched his cheek. "been.. Trying to work things out with a girl." A gust of sandy wind hit him in the face. By now he was getting used to it.

Skylar stumbled over a sand dune. With the crushing sand and wind blowing everywhere it was really hard to keep up with anything. "A girl huh? Would it be Ahti by any chance?" {Oh yeah I know you are crushing on her man. It's as obvious as a jellyfish sting on a butt.}

 

"So Lowenthal, what do you normally do around here in the game?" He was letting Jomei think about that. So why not talk to the other travelling companion. Rutta was having a hard enough time as is.

Lowenthal stopped walking at the drop of a name. "Wh-" He began stuttering. Lowenthal's mind had crashed, again. He knew that Ahti had two people wooing over her. It was Jomei. "What?" Was all that could escape his lips. He saw that Skylar was quickly approaching him. Lowenthal quickly regained his composure. "Me?" He said, quickly after Skylar asked his question. "Uhm, I don't much. I have a store. So, clothes mostly." He said quickly and in a half mumble, before starting to walk again his pace doubling.

Jomei closed his eyes as another sandy gust blinded him momentarily. "W-What are you talking about?! I mean....." He let out a loud sigh. "Its that obvious isn't it..." He felt embarrassed that Skylar knew. He only saw the two of them together once and he could guess that. He cleared his eyes and opened them to see Lowenthal stopped in his tracks, and Jomei accidentally bumped into him a bit. He momentarily pulled the scarf off of his mouth so Lowenthal could hear him "Oh,  didnt see you there... Everything okay, lad?" he placed a hand on his shoulder, wondering if his friend was okay. 

He remembered when they had last met in the cafe, Lowenthal seemed a little distant as well. Despite that it may not be the best time to ask personal questions, he figured they had time to spare.

"Well a clothing store is pretty cool. I have the fashion sense of a three year old so I would never try it." The sand started shifting underneath the ground, Rutta started to growl and that was the sign. "Oh Sh...." Two giant worms popped out of the ground spraying sand every where.

 

They made weird hissing sounds before slamming their heads into the ground. One monster came toward Skylar. The other one was closer to Lowenthal. Skylar uppercut the one in front of him. The sand was clouding his vision so he could not tell what happened to everyone else.

"It's, it's it's nothing." Lowenthal said quietly, and as he began walking he felt the ground rumble. "Really?" Lowenthal stepped to the side, as the sand worm went by him. "Of course this game has to have them!" He said, ramming his kunai into the beast as it rose from the sand. It leaving a red line along it's side. Lowenthal, recognized the danger and started dancing across the sand. "Careful! There could be more!" He shouted.

He gave Lowenthal a quick pat on the back. "Were gonna talk about this later" before pulling his scarf back up over his mouth and nose. Suddenly, he felt the rumble of the sand beneath him. "Dammit.. this isn't that Sandshark again, is it?" Suddenly he heard monstrous roaring coming from the ground as two large worms emerged from the sand. ".. I kinda wish it was the shark now."

 

He jumped back from his two friends to give himself time to draw his weapons. He quickly drew his sword and began to pull his shield out from behind his back. As he did so, he heard the slicing of a blade, followed by a worm hurdling towards him. Not enough time! He threw his shield in front of him as fast as possible to block the attack. Lucky for him, it redirected the worm from hurting him. However, he did not have a full grip on the shield, and it went flying out of his hand and into the sand somewhere. "Oh boy.."

Skylar could hear hissing and fighting sounds on both sides of the worms. "Miss me, you wanna be snake!" Skylar taunted at the big worm like creature.The worm came in for another bite as if to swallow Skylar whole. Skylar grabbed it with his hands, he dropped, kicking it in the face with his foot. "You are going to have to do a lot better then that. If you want to eat me. I don't digest well."

Lowenthal watched as Skylar stopped one of the worms dead in it's tracks, then kicked it aside. He felt the rumbling from under his feet and the sands shifting. He jumped back, as a worm with a long red streak appeared. Lowenthal reached forward with his kunai and landed a hit, but he wasn't prepared for what happened next. His kunai hit a thick portion of skin, and was now stuck. The worm carried Lowenthal into the air. Lowenthal held onto his kunai for dear life as he was carried into the air. As the worm descended, Lowenthal kicked off of the worm and slid in the sand.
