Calrex 0 Posted June 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2015 Hello, I had a quick question concerning when status effects take place (referring to effects that are reliant on the dice roll like Thorns, Bleed, and Paralyze). I have been play it where they are only triggered on the unmodified roll (Ex. Enemy hits me on a 6, but I have Evasion +1, so they get a 5, turning the hit into a miss. However, since the unmodified roll was a 6, the Thorns ability of my armor still activates). Is this accurate, or is it supposed to be on the modified roll?
Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted June 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2015 I believe so, IC it would be like 'the mob tried to hit but only grazed the armor, even so in return, taking the full damage of the armor's latent ability' or something like that. I usually use the vambraces to block or deflect the attack and activate the thorns.
Reusririasuir 0 Posted June 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2015 I've always used the modified roll result.
Oikawa 1 Posted June 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2015 I was told all things such as status effects, and enhancement effects are activated by the UNmodified dice roll. just like the whole critical hit (9 and 10) and critical fail (1) thing.
Zero 0 Posted June 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Oikawa is correct on this matter, unmodified rolls.
Calrex 0 Posted June 7, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Sounds good. That was what I suspected was the case. In light of this I shall continue to do so, thanks for clearing that up. Go ahead and lock this topic.
