About:
Alyssa was raised in a poor family with very little technology. She worked and studied hard through school and earned a scholarship to a small private University. However it was just as she got in that her parents were deported back to Northern Ireland, taking her little brother with them. They insisted that she stay in America to finish her education, but depression made that near impossible. She was in a dark place when a friend she had made online, Lee, gave his shoulder for her to lean on and they continued talking for a while. Eventually he revealed that he was in love with her and soon she felt the same. While her education died, their relationship flourished. They moved in together and moved around numerous times until they finally got settled in North Carolina, living with Lee's grandfather and keeping him company. Alyssa got a job as a secretary for a small business and Lee held his own as an independent worker; things were going well for once. She was really excited about the new full dive system and Sword Art Online game. Lee had introduced her to a whole world of the internet and gaming and she could never get enough.

After more than two years in Sword Art Online, Piera (along with most other players) has become a little less naive. Experiencing the best and worst that Aincrad has to offer. But she has tried her best to not let herself become jaded like so many others had. She still can enjoy the little things and believes that they will escape this game and return to their homes. She even has vowed to help do so herself. Though at the moment, all she can do is help craft potions and crystals for those that do fight. One day she wishes to join them with Lee at her side. The many experiences they have gone through has tested their relationship, but they came out stronger for it.

Virtues:

Compassion: Piera has always been worried about others, though as she grew older she gradually became more selfish, but her compassionate side is still there and she would prefer helping others rather than making them suffer to help herself. She is firmly against player killing, even if to execute another player killer, though she does understand that in a combat situation, it is them or you and self-preservation wins. She enjoys helping other players though, whether partying them or making them crystals.

Devotion: Piera has a bit of trouble making friends in the real world, so when she does manage to find someone to call a friend and trustworthy, she is very loyal and devoted to them. This also goes the same for a party or guild if she believes in them. If she parties with a person and they get along well, she will always be willing to party with them again and help them out.

Humbleness: Coming mainly from a low self-esteem, Piera has a ''realistic'' opinion of herself and her abilities, never one to boast or brag. Since she isn't an experienced gamer, she is even more sensitive about her ''skills'' or lack thereof in game. Even if she does manage to do something fairly well, she knows that there are always those who can do better.

Flaws:

Indecisive: She can never make up her mind. About anything. There doesn't seem to be any real reason. If asked to make a snap decision between left and right, she will panic and might even say ''up''. This is hard for her in SAO as sometimes a split decision can mean life or death and makes the decision making even harder for her.

Absentminded: Piera is a bit ditzy. Her real-life friends called her ''blonde'' even though she was a brunette due to her ditziness and forgetfulness, even though she could be quite intelligent...at times. Others times, very obvious things could fly right over her head unnoticed. In the game she often gets lost in thought, taking in the scenery or pondering things about the game. She also has a tendency to forget about important quests or quest items and such, forgetting their importance.

Sarcastic: She earned her sarcasm from her parents and it is usually how she deals with fear, discomfort or anger. Due to being in a game where very real death is a very real possibility, she is always somewhat afraid and tries to mask it with a bit of caustic humor that comes rather naturally to her. She can be unintentionally unkind at maximum sarcasm levels.

Story Thus Far:

Spoiler

After it was revealed that every player in Sword Art Online was stuck in Aincrad with death now being a more fatal penalty than before, Piera and Lee kept themselves safe, never leaving the first floor. That is, until they met a couple of high level players, Lowenthal and Jomei. They convinced them to do more than just fight boars and beetles, though that was a big step. They even very generously gave them high quality items to ensure that they wouldn't fear dying while out leveling against mobs. Eventually the couple began to venture out into other floors, meeting other players.

Piera met Sakuri while still summoning up the courage to venture past floor two''s safe zone and had a nice chat and lunch with him. She next bumped into Carmine, one of the nicest, coolest, tallest girls that she''d ever met in SAO or period for that matter. The two hit it off pretty well and exchanged information before continuing on their way. Not too long after that, Carmine invited her out to help her with a fairly simple quest. A while after that, she was simply walking along when she happened upon Jomei at a cafe and had a lovely long conversation with him about everything and nothing in particular, teasing him about his crush on Carmine and making plans for a triple date. Lowenthal invited her out to train her some and gifted her a perfect spear, the ''Bleeding Lance'' and trained with her. He then explained that he was forming a guild called the ''Velvet Room'' with Jomei and some others and invited her to join as well as Lee. Piera deliberated before accepting but stated that he would have to ask Lee himself. Lowenthal had also given her the idea to become an Alchemist and she accepted the ''Earning a Living'' quest, completed with Lee's help.

After completing the quest and selecting her shop, Piera decided that she wanted to open her shop with a special item and enlisted Jomei's help in completing the "Long Live the Queen" quest to earn her venom to sell in her new shop, "Piera's Potent Potions". Not long after she opened, she was invited to Lowenthal's beach birthday party along with several others and brought Lee along as her plus one. This was when she and most others first discovered that Lowenthal had earned an orange cursor since they had last saw him, signifying his player killer status.

A while after the party, she was low on materials and decided to explore more of the floor her shop was on, three, and met Calrex as he was doing the very same. Some time after that, she was attempting to find a tailor to craft her some light armor when she ran across a player looking for other players to join his party to clear a small dungeon. She joined Mack along with Golden and Beoreson. The leader was kind and thoughtful enough to loan her his old heavy armor, Hussar's Protest to protect her during the dungeon run. Still looking for more mats, Piera ventured into the fourth floor and found a carnival along with Clarence and met Aramail.

Piera was spending time with Lee on the second floor while also looking for a Tailor to craft her some light armor when a quest NPC asked for their help, which they obliged to, completing 'Let there be Light'. One day shortly after she had run out of materials to use for crafting, Mack visited her shop bearing gifts, the Bobcat Gauntlets as well as Fang Charm, using them to trade for some potions before inviting her out to the fourth floor to help her look for more mats. He revealed that he had started his own guild, the Crimson Blades and that their mutual acquaintance Beoreson was in it as well. He also was interested in the Crimson Blades allying itself with the Velvet Room and after sending off messages to the council, her guild agreed and they set up a date for a meeting between Mack and his second in command, Xion along with herself and Lowenthal to discuss said alliance in person. This was also when it was revealed to Mack that Lowenthal was an orange player.

Many things happened on this journey, none to say the least of which was that Piera had a few close calls and got to see Mack in action. He was a very capable warrior and leader and she respected and admired him for it. She didn't appreciate half drowning in a hot spring that a salamander made and afterward getting hypothermia. Mack carried her bodily to the cave they were aiming for and they dried out their clothes and armor as well as themselves. Eventually though they continued and he helped her fight a bit better, using Mimics as practice before they came upon a dragon. It took some time and in the end, Piera thought that the dragon had killed Mack when it swallowed him whole, but they killed it and emerged triumphant. Later when she returned home a whole day later than she was originally supposed to, Lee was not happy, having been watching both of their 'dots' on his map and saw how close they got at times. They argued and he made her feel horrible even though she tried to explain that there were reasonable explanations but in the end she still felt bad for making him feel this way.

A week later they went on a quest of their own, Let There Be Light, blindly fighting some Giant Bats to save a very cute NPC little girl and things were nice. She went on a few material gathering expedition and met Kalesh who was great fun and a cool conversationalist. Then she received an invitation to a party that Beoreson was holding in celebration of the reopening of his shop after his move to another floor. She was casual friends with the other player as he was her very first customer and she had met him and Mack at the same time before the Crimson Blades had been organized. So she accepted and looked for a present to bring, going to the Crimson Diner and meeting Grave for the first time, who was also a member of the Crimson Blades. They later went on a material gathering expedition and chatted for a bit. Beoreson's party was certainly entertaining. She met Opal and Shirosu for the first time, the first two female members of the Blades and Opal challenged Mack to a drinking contest while herself and Shirosu acted as judges. Apparently things got out of hand when the two competitors drank Beoreson out of house and home and Piera pulled out her secret stock of untested 100 Proof Potions, which the four players all drank liberally before stumbling out of Beoreson's hair. She still doesn't remember all what happened that night but apparently Mack carried them all to the fourth floor inn where they crashed. Opal, Mack and herself having shared a bed while Shirosu nabbed a chair. Somehow Opal ended up completely naked, she woke up in her underwear and Mack was missing his shirt. And they all had massive hangovers. They spent the morning trying to recuperate, eat and talk about what in the world happened before each went their separate ways. Of course Lee was quietly furious and rightfully so, and Piera took the silent treatment punishment willingly before talking things out eventually when he had calmed down.

It was around then that rumors of floor eleven's boss room being discovered floated around and Mack put in an order of combat items for himself and the Blades that would be participating. Soon after this, the meeting between the Velvet Room and the Crimson Blades was organized on floor eight, though it did not go well. Mack managed to say and do certain things to set Lowenthal off, who was already sensitive about his orange cursor but it was all a big misunderstanding. Still tensions were high and it was agreed that they should leave things as they were before words or actions were taken that both parties would regret later, deciding to reconvene after the floor eleven boss raid. Afterwards, Piera and Lowenthal spoke at length about nothing at all until he finally opened up a little and they spoke of Clarence, his PK status and feelings in general. He also asked her out on a date for some reason right after she told him that she and Lee would soon be celebrating their sixth anniversary. Piera politely turned him down but said that she'd still always be willing to hang out with him in a non-romantic sense, also giving him a teleport crystal for him to have just in case the worst happened at the boss fight.

Not long after that, Piera got a message from someone she never thought she'd speak to personally, Zelrius the leader of the Azure Brigade. He made an offer and put in a massive order for every single combat item she could craft from then until the raid on floor eleven's boss started. She accepted once she was assured that they wouldn't be just for himself or his guild but passed out to all players participating in the battle. This caused her to have to turn away many customers also looking for combat consumables and she felt very guilty for having to do that but was glad that her friends understood. Realizing that she would need to get stronger as well, Piera invested in the First Aid skill, purchased an accessory that would help her use the new skill (Healing Heart) from Teayre and also ordered a new set of heavy armor from Mack. When she picked up the armor at his forge on floor four, he gave it to her free of any charge, making her feel fairly guilty until he assured her that he was not hurting for either col or materials. He also gave her a necklace that was a quest reward of some sort and when she equipped it, it transformed into an exact replica of a necklace her father had given her, causing her to tear up and explain the reasoning behind her emotional outburst.

A while after that, Piera got a PM from Mack asking for her as well as Opal and Shirosu to meet him at the Snowfrost Inn, as he was attempting to Grandmaster his Two Handed Axe skill and needed to talk about his exploits and celebrate them, even had a great amount of food and some fine mead placed out for the trio of women. It was relaxing and entertaining to eat, be merry and hear and share all of the stories they all had about Mack. Opal ended up drinking too much, again, and Shirosu had to lead her home as she would be less likely to be groped. She had given Mack the items he had ordered earlier, but stayed behind to secretly give him a teleport crystal, just as worried about his safety as she was Lowenthal's. Piera felt fairly guilty as she wasn't supposed to be giving this to him as it was already claimed and wasn't part of his own order, but she wanted to be sure that he had a way out if he needed it. He said that he was fighting to return her to her family, utterly confusing and mildly upsetting her as she stated that being stuck in SAO had nothing to do with it. He simply replied that he would do what he had to to make her happy, leaving her even more confused as he left.

Thankfully she still had her crafting to distract her and then a new member to the Velvet Room: Brice. He was interested in becoming an alchemist like her and she helped him complete his Earning a Living quest. Then came Zelrius' birthday party, of which herself and Lee warranted an invitation to, along with the rest of the Velvet Room. Including Clarence. It was a hard scene to watch as Lowenthal yelled at the pathetically depressed boy and broke up with him before also evicting him from the guild before returning to his date, Persephone and trying to forget what had happened by dancing with her. Mack also made an appearance briefly, almost getting between the two ex-lovers before Jomei intervened. The Irishman himself was a bit depressed it seemed as his errant crush, Opal had managed to come, but with another man and of course Carmine was still missing. Piera and Lee still tried to cheer him up while managing to have a good time themselves.

After that Piera went on several quests and adventures. She got her familiar with Jomei, finished a very low level quest with Kalesh's guidance, explored her home floor with Teayre and went on a huge outing with the Crimson Blades to help Lawfer do the quest Search for the Hoya. Eventually though the date for the boss battle came up closer and closer and Mack sent out a Aincrad wide message inviting all to come and relax, though she got the impression that it was mainly for those participating in the boss battle. Not soon before this event, Piera finished crafting what she could though still felt it wasn't enough as she hadn't been able to craft enough teleport crystals for every player participating in the raid before Persephone came to pick the items up on Zelrius' behalf.
