[SP-F2] Pest Control <<Long Live The Queen>> {COMPLETE}

It was late afternoon on Floor Two. The sun was slowly beginning to set on the mountain city of Ubrus. Jomei had spent his day doing odd jobs around the town, to try and relax and take his mind off of things. He had his trusty lute in his hand, strumming the notes of an old Irish tune he knew well. His happy hums were interrupted by a slight ping. Jomei stopped walking and opened up his HUD to see he had a notification.

Jomei's face tensed. He had entered this battle arena in an attempt to test his strength and to prove it to others. "Looks like I'm gonna find out who I'm up against.." He made his way towards the center of town, where the information bulletins were set up.

Upon arriving at the center of town, Jomei already noticed a group of players surrounding the board. All had looks of wonder as they looked upon certain pieces of information. As he walked closer, he noticed they were all looking at the same thing he was on his way to check himself.{ Are all of these players fighting too..? } As he got to the group of people, one girl turned around to look at him. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw his name next to his HP bar. "Oh! You're Jomei!" Jomei slightly tilted his head to the side, confused a bit. Others in the group turned around to look at him. He smiled. "Excuse me, I need to check that out." He made his way through the small crowd of players and stood in front of the bulletin board. He put his finger up to the list, scrolling to see who he was up against.

A bead of sweat dropped down his jawline. "Right off the bat huh.." A guy next to him smacked Jomei on the back with a big grin on your face. "Good luck out there!" Jomei looked to the man, nodded and smiled. "T-Thanks.."  He looked through the rest of the list to see other names he recognized as well. He smirked when he saw Lowenthal's name. "Looks like I get to test my strength against The Master of Shadows himself... Calrex too."  He punched his fist into his open palm after walking out of the group of people. "Alright, time to start training."  Boss fights would probably be the best place to get some training in, and he knew just where to start.

Jomei figured he should start off local if he was going to train to get stronger. He remembered helping Zandra out on a quest here on the 2nd Floor where they fought the Wasp Queen. "Guess I can start with her.." He confidently walked to the outskirts of Ubrus. Once he got to the archway leading to the outside of the city, he opened up his HUD with a flick of his hand. He went through and equipped his sword and shield. He also placed one of the health potions he had bought from Zandra in his At-Ready.. just in case. He began to walk down the slight incline that lead to the wooded area surrounding the city.

The sun had almost entirely set behind the mountain that Ubrus sat on, so the woods where Jomei hunted the queen were already getting dark. He surveyed the land in-between the trees, one hand holding his shield and sheath, his right hand gripping the handle of his Summerthorn. "Hm.. Where could she be.." Jomei listened as the wind blew through the trees. All he could hear were rustling leaves and the sound of his own footsteps. He stopped in his tracks when he heard a light buzzing noise. It was not loud.. and it did not sound big. Then it turned into two things buzzing. He turned around to see, coming through the leaves in the tree above him, two large wasps flying at him. They were not nearly as large as the queen, but they were about the size of his torso. He stood at the ready as the wasps charged at him.

The two enemy wasps came down on Jomei simultaneously. Jomei lowered his center of gravity, preparing for the perfect moment to strike at the wasps. The two were in a swords length of him, and he quickly drew his sword, slashing in an arc at the same time. His sword met with the first wasp. His rapier, glowing yellow from using his sword skills, sliced clean through the enemy wasp. The enemy exploded into data after just one strike. The second wasp continued its attack on Jomei. It swung its body around to have its stinger looking to drive into Jomei's body. Jomei quickly threw up his shield to block the wasp's attack from hitting him. As the wasp pushed down on him, his shield began to glow a bright red, as if being heated in a forge. He pushed back up at the wasp, burning its thorax.

Jomei jumped back from where he met the wasps for an attack to get a better vantage point on his situation. He stood there, spinning his sword in his hand, preparing for the next attack from the wasps. His enemy buzzed back and forth, moving around in front of him.

Jomei took to the offensive and held his sword behind him, preparing to thrust it at this pest of an enemy. He took one step forward and then dove at the wasp. He jumped upwards above the wasp, coming down he thrusted his sword into the flying bug. His rapier pierced his enemy in the thorax, and knocked it into the ground behind it. Its wings fluttered, as it rose up slowly in an attempt to attack Jomei. However, it fell back down before it could spin its body around. Once it hit the ground, it blasted into blue data.

Suddenly, Jomei heard louder buzzing coming again from behind him, he turned around to see another Wind Wasp had joined their fray.

The last wind wasp circled Jomei. He tried to keep up with watching the wasp circle him quickly, trying to determine when it was going to attack. He held his sword out to the side, pointing diagonally downward. He shifted his shield so the handle was hooked around his wrist, freeing up his left hand. Suddenly, the wasp flew at him very quickly. Without flinching, Jomei threw up his hand and grabbed the bug by its stinger before it could reach him. "You guys are nothing, you know that?" He pulled his arm back and threw the wasp at a tree. As it bounced back from the impact of the tree, Jomei stabbed his rapier through it. The wasp twitched before drooping over, blowing up into the blue data.

Suddenly, a loud buzzing noise came from behind him, closing in quickly. It was a noise he knew all too well. He smirked as he quickly turned around to see the Wind Wasp Queen was charging at him, stinger first. "Found ya." He dove out of the way of the stinger, the Queen smashing through trees in its path. Jomei spun on his knee and quickly stood up, ready for another one of its attacks. He saw the path of destruction this giant wasp left by missing its attack on Jomei, and he watched as the Queen realized it missed and made a wide turn, coming back for another attack. Jomei prepared himself, but was taken aback by slight buzzing from all around him. He looked around, it was coming from everywhere. He furrowed his eyebrows and frowned. "I guess you want to make this an unfair fight..." The Queen pushed through the trees to meet with Jomei again. The two stood there, ready to attack.

Jomei ran at the wasp queen, who was buzzing around preparing itself for Jomei's attack. He lowered his center of gravity and brought his sword closer to him, pointing it as forward as possible. He jumped at the Wasp Queen and thrusted his sword forward too pierce it in its Wasp-y chest. The queen flew to the side, dodging his attack. Jomei's eyes widened as hit the ground and rolled forward to try and gain some distance from his enemy. As he propped himself up, he turned around to see the Queen was already countering his strike. She swung her thorax back and brought it forward in a powerful thrust that looked like a pendulum swinging. Jomei quickly pulled up his shield to block the attack. She continued these thrusting strikes, Jomei blocking each with his shield. With each attack, his shield became hotter and hotter. Once he found it was heated up enough, he sidestepped one of the Queen's stinger attacks and pressed his shield into her side, singeing its skin. It tried to pull away from the scorching heat of his shield, but Jomei quickly followed up with a piercing attack from his rapier. A quick attack to the thorax caused quite a bit of damage, and the queen buzzed away to recover.

Jomei decided with his next attack, he was going to try and cut off the Queen's stinger. Without that, she would be mostly useless. As he thought of this, the Queen slowly lifted her thorax, so the stinger was pointing at Jomei. It began to glow red, similar to how a sword skill glows. "What the he-" Suddenly, the Queen's stinger shot out like a bullet towards Jomei. His eyes widened as he rolled out of the way of the attack. This stinger was followed in suit by a barrage of shots. He used his <Sprint> skill to get away as quickly as possible. While recovering from ducking and rolling, the Queen's stinger attack grazed Jomei's back, cutting at his coat and leaving a big red gash. He staggered a bit from the hit. It wasn't much, just unexpected. As Jomei looked back up to his foe, he saw another one of the smaller Wind Wasps flying in to join her.

Jomei recovered from the stinger grazing his back and continued to dodge the assault. He quickly looked for a place to hide and avoid the onslaught. As he was looking, the Wasp Queen was able to get another hit on Jomei, this stinger grazing his shoulder.  He dove behind a tree as the last few stingers pierced the other side. He took a deep breath. As he exhaled, he listed to the sound of buzzing, one sound was deeper than the other, but the lighter one was getting louder and fast. He poked his head out to the side to see the smaller wasp had already made a break for it, taking the opportunity to strike at Jomei as he tried to hide. As the wasp, stinger first, charged at Jomei's gut, he threw up his shield to block the attack. He staggered a bit as the stinger hit the shield, and he pushed back as the shield began to heat up. Again, before the wasp could escape, he quickly thrusted his rapier forward, destroying the small enemy.

His cover had been blown by the smaller wasp, so Jomei took the opportunity to strike at the Queen before another one if its children shows up. He looked up into the tree at its long branches. Taking a couple steps back, he ran towards the tree, leaping up into the leaves. He pulled himself up onto a sturdy branch and looked down at the queen. Lucky for him, he had confused it, and she did not realize he had escaped into the tree. Jomei furrowed his eyebrows as he held his sword up above the opposite shoulder, as if he was going to slash diagonally downward. The sword began to glow its gold light, and he took two steps towards the edge of the branch. As he jumped off the branch, he swung his sword, spinning his body like a top in the air. "Dancing Dragon Hurricane!" He made contact with the Wasp Queen, slashing her multiple times across the chest and knocking her down into the ground. As the dust settled, Jomei hopped backwards, only to see another smaller wasp had flown down from the tree opposite of him.

Both the Queen and its smaller counterpart made a break for Jomei at the same time. He grit his teeth as he watched the Queen fly upward and then came down towards him like a missile. While the smaller wasp went straight for the attack. Jomei had to pick his battles wisely with this one. As the Queen closed in on his position, he jumped back, slashing his sword at it. The tip of his rapier just missed its mark on the Queen's thorax. Jomei's eyes darted back and forth looking for the smaller wasp, who was lost in the dust kicked up by the Queen smashing into the ground. Suddenly from the dust came the smaller wasp. It was too fast for Jomei to respond to the attack with his shield, and its stinger pierced him right in the gut. Jomei coughed up blood as the sharp object dug into his stomach, knocking him back.

Jomei grunted as the small wasp pressed into Jomei's stomach, he looked up to see his health bar decrease little by little while the stinger was in his stomach. Jomei lifted his shield up into the air and let out a yell as he brought it down hard on the wasp. The stinger came out of his stomach, still connected to the bug as it was pressed into the ground under the shield. Jomei smirked as the shield began to glow brighter and brighter, burning the bug to a crisp under the weight of Jomei's shield. When he felt it barely kicking anymore, he lifted up his shield and thrusted his sword into its head, finishing it off. His gaze lifted back up to the queen, as he wiped a bit of blood that was dripping from his mouth. Jomei stepped back, clenching at the large wound in his stomach. The queen followed in his step, charging at him. At the last moment, Jomei sidestepped out of the way, the Queen smacking into a tree, its stinger getting stuck in the bark.

Jomei jumped back from the wasp hitting the tree. He watched as it struggled to pull its thorax out from the trunk of the tree, but it would not budge. He tried to focus on hitting this enemy, but the sudden loss of HP and blood from being pierced in the gut made him a little weary. He closed his eyes and inhaled a deep breath. When he exhaled, he opened his eyes and glared at the bug, with his eyebrows furrowed. He used his <Concentration> skill to up the ante of hitting his mark. The pupils of his eyes flickered with yellow crosshairs, helping Jomei to focus on hitting his target.  He ran forward, thrusting his sword upward in an uppercut motion, piercing the Queen in the back.

After being stabbed in the back, the Queen was finally able to pull free from the tree. It was getting weaker, its HP bar was very close to depleting. He took a quick look around, luckily there were no other wasps trying to crash their party yet. He needed to act fast before they did so. The Queen was quite angry now from being attacked while she was pinned, so she threw all of her weight at Jomei, in an attempt to do as much damage as possible. Jomei quickly dove out of the way of the body slam. Once he got up, the Queen had quickly spun around and was trying to stab him with her stinger again. Jomei blocked the strike quickly with his shield and thrusted his own sword forward, connecting with its lower body. It fell to the ground, barely able to move.

The Queen just laid there, defeated, waiting for Jomei to deliver the final blow. Jomei slowly walked up to it, spinning his rapier in his hand. He let out a light sigh of relief as he walked closer to her. As a dying act, the Queen let out a loud shrill, one Jomei did not think a wasp was capable of. Jomei stepped back and covered his ears. Once he felt the screeching had stopped, he removed his hands from his ears, only to find that the sound had been replaced by buzzing coming from both directions. He quickly turned around to see three more Wind Wasps were now surrounding him. Before any of them could make a move, Jomei quickly flipped his sword and pierced it down into the head of the Queen Wind Wasp, killing her instantly. As a reward box popped up in front of Jomei, he quickly dismissed it, seeing as he needed to take care of his new friends first.

Jomei was in quite a jam now, he had never fought this many mobs at once before on his own. He began to sweat and grit his teeth as his gaze moved back and forth from the three bees. The first wasp made its move at Jomei, which he was quickly able to block it with his shield. The wasp bounced off of his shield and flew back at him, scratching him on the cheek. As this first wasp passed by him, he turned around and slashed at it with his sword, dealing significant damage. While his back was turned, the second wasp managed to fly straight at Jomei, piercing him in the back with his stinger. Jomei let out a loud grunt as he staggered forward, and then jerked backwards to get the wasp off of his back. The first wasp came back again for a second strike, but Jomei bashed it with his shield as it got close to him, finishing it off in a blast of blue fragments. The last wasp made an attempt to tackle Jomei at the legs, making him an open target for his friend. Jomei anticipated its attack and jumped over it as it passed under him. Once he hit the ground from the jump he turned to face the two wasps and leapt backwards to get some distance. He wiped the blood from the fresh wound on his cheek and glared at his enemies.

Jomei was panting. He had not lost a lot of health, but this fight was keeping him on his toes. "Huh..huh.. One down.. huh.."

He took a deep breath and swung his sword in front of him, preparing for their next assault. The second wasp was the first to charge at Jomei. It flew straight at his stomach like the other one had. He lifted his shield in anticipation of the attack and braced for the impact. At the last minute, the wasp made a sharp decline in its flight pattern, and connected with Jomei's shin instead. The stinger went straight through his leg. "Gah!" Jomei fell to his knee as the wasp dislodged its stinger. It flew back slightly and turned around to make another strike. This one grazing his arm. The third wasp followed suit and tried to attack Jomei from behind. He quickly looked over his shoulder to see it coming at him. Using his <Acrobatics> skill to dodge the attack, Jomei threw his body backwards into a roll, once his body had rolled all the way and his hands were pressing on the ground, he pushed with all of his might to throw his body over the charging wasp, which was already flying low to the ground. Once Jomei hit the ground, he grunted at the pain in his leg, but lunged forward to now attack that same wasp from behind. This knocked the third wasp off of its course, crashing into the ground momentarily.

Jomei bit his lip. The pain was starting to really get to him. He had small cuts on his shoulder, arm, and face, a large gash across his back, as well as piercing stabs through his shin, stomach, and upper back. His breathing was getting heavier as he tried to focus on the battle. The second wasp,still in perfect condition, was circling the battle field, looking for an opportunity to attack Jomei. The third wasp on the other hand, had just taken quite a tough hit, and was struggling to stay afloat. Jomei decided to put this one out of its misery. He ran forward with his blade to his side, but was cut off by the second wasp flying out from behind the third wasp's position. Jomei span his body to the side, dodging the wasp's attack, and then falling down onto his arm. "Looks like you're not gonna let me finish your friend that easily." He stood up and brushed the dirt off of his arm, glaring at the second wasp.
