[PP-F2] Testing the Skills of Greg Baxen (Silver Moon Guild)

Recommended Posts

The selected few are:

Hasai (myself)

Greg Baxen

Emblem

Youno had recently gotten a request for a new rookie, to join her guild. Of course, she would enjoy having him, but first she needed to test him, on his team work and other abilities. She sent a short message out to the two. One being Greg, and the other being her own guild council member, Emblem. She quickly hit send, and re-read her message.

To: Greg Baxen, Emblem

Subject: Hello, Hasai here! Please meet in the crossing fields on floor two. We will be holding the test there, please remember, I am only here to protect, and if anything bad happens I will find it right to intervine.

She smiled widely, and sat down in the crossing field, watching the flowers blow in the wind.

Greg had recently been taking an interest in guilds, and searched through a listing of them, before noticing he had a message. Greg opened the message. It read as follows:

Subject: Hello, Hasai here! Please meet in the crossing fields on floor two. We will be holding the test there, please remember, I am only here to protect, and if anything bad happens I will find it right to intervine.

Hasai... Wasn't that the name of the leader of the guild labelled Silver Moon? He checked the window, and confirmed the fact. They invited him to be tested to join? Greg smiled. Challenge accepted. Readying his new Anneal Blade, Greg warped from the First Floor to the Second Floor, and moved towards the Crossing Fields.

Once he got to the fields, he saw a Girl watching flowers blow in the wind. Walking up to her, he spoke. "You're Hassai, right? The Leader of the Silver Moon Guild?"

After Greg got a response, Greg continued to speak. "I'm here to take the test."

Emblem yawned and put his hands behind his head as he walked. He recently got a message from his guild leader asking him to help her test a new player wanting to join our guild.

Emblem approached the crossing fields the planned meeting place for the three to meet up. He was confused that he was the one selected to help test the player. After all there are many stronger players in the guild. As he went through the thought he opened his inventory and equipped his new sword "Warriors spirit" That his guild leader had made for him. He noticed two players in the crossing fields whom he assumed were his guild leader Hasai and player he was to test. Hello everyone! Emblem here! Reporting to duty!

Youno smiled at the two, Alright. I have thought about a lot of different tests for you Greg Baxen, can I call you Greg? Or Baxen? The test I have chosen has two stages, or steps. She started to walk around the two, Emblem will be with you, the first stage is to find the hidden cave nearby. Then you need to enter the right cave, and defeat the giant spider within. I will be watching you two. I have already scanned the area, so I know how it fights. I will be here to protect you two, if it gets sticky. Think you are up for the task? She made sure all of her equipment was equipped, before watching the two again.

"Just call me Greg." He responds, to Hasai's asking of what to call him. Listening to the debriefing of what the challenge is, Greg smiles. "That shouldn't be too hard." he says, after hearing the details of the challenge. Checking his equipment, he makes sure that his active sword was his newly obtained Anneal Blade, which he had gotten from questing with GoldenArroz.

"Challenge accepted." He quips, after confirming that he's ready to go.

Emblem giggled as he heard Gregs confident statement declaring it wouldn't be to hard. "Oh you have no idea buddy, no idea!" Emblem opened his inventory and equipped his favorite blue scarf. "So Hasai, can you point is in the direction of the cave? Emblem looked forward to this and was sure of himself he would do the best possible. He gripped the hilt of his sword then pulled his scarf up so it covered the bottom half of his face. "Ok Greg! Let's do this thing!" Emblem heard about how Hasai tested all people in the party and wanted to ace it by hard work alone. He began walking in the flowers and picked a blue rose up from the ground matching the roses on his blade. He kept it and put it in his inventory as good luck. "Well let's head out!"

Youno watched the two, and rolled her eyes, Alright. The more confident you are, the better. However, don't be to confident. She pointed to a nearby woody area, In there. The mist surrounding that area, was great. The fog was terrible. She nodded her head for them to go first, as she would be a follower, not a guide. She would not fight either. Then she spoke to Emblem, quietly, I know you deal a lot of damage, so try not to use as much damage as you can. This beast has tons of health however. But let Greg prove himself. She nodded her head again, before falling to the back of the group of three.

After being debriefed on the task at hand, Greg nodded. "Understood." he says. He then turns to Emblem. "Should we get going?" He asks. He's eager to prove himself, but also anticipating the attack patterns of the monster. 'The monster is a giant spider, so i wouldn't be surprised if it used its webs in some way.  Perhaps as a trap. There's also the fact that it may sneak up on us for an attack.' Greg thinks to himself, thinking of what spiders behave like in real life.

Emblem opened one eye to look at his party member to see him rambling on about his strategy and attack patterns. He closed his eyes and began talking to the player. Hey good luck. You'll need it, trust me. He grinned at the player then continued down the foggy forest. He knew for a fact the spider would attempt to sneak up on them so he kept his eyes and ears alert. The fog was awful and Emblem could hardly see 5 feet in front of him. He kept his hand on the hilt of his sword and recalled the words his leader had said to him.  I know you deal a lot of damage, so try not to use as much damage as you can. This beast has tons of health however. But let Greg prove himself. Emblem nodded to himself and thought of several things leading the thought his hope of becoming the Co-Leader of the guild. He highly doubted his chances but lingered on the hop. He decided if he showed enough leadership in this party he would ask the leader for a test to become the co-leader. He stopped walking and looked around hearing small signs of a mob and closed his eyes, at this point he felt he could only rely on his ears.

Youno smirked at them, and just kept on watching. She knew they still had a little ways to go before reaching the giant spider she had scouted before. She equipped her helmet and gauntlets, before setting a hand on her rapier as she watched the two. She kept walking behind them, if she had to, she would take the hate away from the big monster. She wondered if they would be surprised by the 8 legged spider, and wanted them to strike first, and not the other way around.

(I will control spider mwahahaha)

The group had been walking for a while, and Greg grew tired of just going over strategies in his head. "Are we there yet? I'm beginning to lose my patience. I can only go over strategies in my head for so long." Greg quipped, asking the two behind him how close they were to the spider, while trying to distract himself from the impending boredom approaching. He knew he should take this more seriously, seeing as this is a death game and all, but dang it, he was bored!

Emblem closed his eyes and heard the faint sound of crawling to the right. He took another step and felt his hand get caught in something stick. He had been caught in the trap. Crap! Emblem try'd to pull his hand free only to get his leg stuck too. Greg! Don't take another step! Emblem looked back and grit his teeth. He looked around him to find any way to escape the trap. He desperately tried to open his menu. He cursed under his breath then looked up at his party member. As we speak the Mob is coming towards me! Please! Try and find it before it finds me! Emblem put on his best expression of desperate anguish. He had planned to fall for the trap to truly test the player when he's under pressure. Now! Hurry! Emblem hoped that the plan wouldn't backfire and he would end up in danger. HE waited for the players response.

Greg continued walking until Emblem got caught in the web. Greg looked around to try and find the Spider at Emblem's prompting. Following the sound of scuttling, Greg lunged towards where the sound was from, unsheathed his Anneal Blade and brought his sword down!

Greg ended up hitting nothing but the cave's floor. "Not there..." He mutters underneath his breath. He steps back a few paces towards where Emblem is stuck, but not enough to get caught in a web. If the Spider was going for the prey caught in the web, all Greg had to do was protect said prey. The 'Prey' in this case being Emblem.

[Any reason we skipped Hasai?]

Emblem felt the vibrations grow greater on the web. It wouldn't be long until the mob reached him. Emblem watched as the man attempted an attack only to miss it. He grit his teeth. He was putting his life on the line to test to man and didn't exactly want to die to fast. Emblem looked around for anything sharp the looked up at Hasai trailing behind them She wondered how she was perceiving the fight Emblem grinned then relaxed. He knew without a doubt that he would live. He had his bug sister there to protect him. Emblem felt the vibrations grow stronger and he knew the spider was about upon him and looked to greg baxen waiting for his next move.

Greg groaned as he prepared to strike again. "For a GIANT spider, this thing seems awfully hard to hit." he quips.

"Then again, it's only giant compared to normal spiders." he continues, while swinging his sword in the direction of the scuttling.

Greg's attack connected this time, and he followed up with two more slashes. "Funny. When i start to complain about missing the damn thing, my attack connects." he quips.

Emblem watched the man finally get a hit of the spider. He grinned the pulled his sword out and cut himself out of the spider web and jumped back to the man and pushed him out of the way. It was obvious he was underestimating the mob. If he were to get into the Silver Moon guild he had to be much more capable than a mob that's atleast level 10. He readied his sword and looked at the mob waiting for it to show it's self. It was obvious that the mob was now after the man and he had to stop it from getting to him. Greg hold your ground let's go back to back. He then walked back so that he was inches away from the mans back and put his sword out infront of him. Emblem saw a quick glimpse of the mob and dashed forward to it. He didn't want the new player to get hurt by the beast. He activated a sword skill and struck the mob stabbing it into it's abdomen. He puled back then followed up with a combo of attacks. Your dead!

Youno watched the spider, and watched as Emblem suggested Teamwork, she watched them fight, and she decided she would just sit and watch. Emblem could deal with it.... Meanwhile, the spider was lashing out. The spider let out an inhuman screech, and launched a web string attack at Emblem. Emblem had the most hate, and so it lashed out. Sadly, to it's disappointment it missed, by an inch, and so it stepped back, it's red eyes glowing in the forest.

Greg lunged again, preparing to cut into the Spider with his Anneal Blade!

ID: 25646. BD 4: Miss!

Unfortunately, Greg misses. Groaning as he recovered from his miss, Greg considers starting to complain again, but eventually decides against it. He did, however, glance towards Hasai and Emblem, hoping that Emblem was okay, and hoping that Hasai was strong enough to protect Emblem... and himself, if it came to it. He prepared to dodge or parry any attacks after he had gotten over the delay of missing his attack. 'Drop my guard and i'm as good as dead.' he thought to himself.
