[PP-F2] Quest for Venom <<Long Live the Queen>>

Piera tilted her head curiously to Jomei as he began to explain just what a Sand Shark was, when the Wasp Queen came into view. She was huge compared to the others that they had fought, bigger than both players together. While her own pace had slowed in trepidation, a flash of green and orange whisked past as Jomei sprinted towards the insect, Adere taking off from his shoulder and concentrating on the monster.

Her hands tightened around her lance as she nodded to herself before running after her friend. Upon closer look, the Queen seemed much like another monster from another game she had played, though obviously not as pretty....or humongous. When Jomei went one way, Piera automatically went the opposite to flank the Queen between them. The bug was so large, she could barely see the ginger, but heard him urge her to attack. Digging in her heels, the brunette lunged forward to attempt stab at the overgrown wasp, but she was hovering unsteadily and the Bleeding Lance missed its mark. Her face twisting in a disappointed grimace, Piera stepped back and called to Jomei, "No good, try again!"

From Jomei's position, he could not see how Piera was doing after his attack. However, as he backed up from the Queen, he saw a lance pierce the air next to it, followed by Piera's voice calling out to Jomei to attack again. He frowned slightly.. thinking Piera was probably becoming very discouraged because of her mishaps today. Jomei shook his head, "Its alright! Don't give up!" But now it was his turn to take another swing at their enemy, who was still focused on Jomei. The large insect swiftly hovered forward towards Jomei, jabbing at him with her drill like arms. Thinking quickly, Jomei quickly stepped backwards, using his sword to deflect all of her attacks. With one last powerful thrust, the Queen shoved her lance-like arm forward. Jomei swung his sword across, sparks flying from the position his sword his the stinger. Turning his wrist, Jomei moved his sword to the opposite side of the Queen's weapon and pushed it off to the side, performing a parry. Finally, Jomei had an opening, and he took it. He leapt into the air and pierced his rapier into the Queen's shoulder.

Piera frowned as she watched the Queen's movements as she backed up before she heard Jomei's voice call out encouragement to her. Feeling slightly comforted, the brunette nodded to herself. She wasn't in this alone after all, they could do this together. The spearwoman bounced on the balls of her feet, ready to dodge or jump in as needed as she tried to squint and watch the ginger's feet from under where the ginormous wasp was hovering. It seemed focused solely on him, which she supposed was better than herself being focused on, but still felt a little bad that he had to 'tank' since he wasn't used to the position. She heard the clang of what almost sounded like metal on metal, but realized that it was her guildmate's sword against the wasp's large arm stingers as she tried to stab him. Biting her lip, Piera watched closely as she waited for an opening. She saw Jomei's feet leave the ground as he leaped and instantly tried to do the same, however due to her delayed reaction, she was too late. The Queen flinched, hovering slightly higher off of the ground as she recoiled from the blow to her shoulder and the brunette didn't come close to her mark, instead barely landing on her feet in a rough kneeling position before attempting to push herself up with her lance with a disappointed grimace. She needed to be quicker, more agile.

Jomei's eyes were focused on the Queen as it recoiled from being stabbed by Jomei's rapier. He leapt back to gain some distance, hoping Piera would have been able to land a strike on it in the meantime. Watching its health bar, he could tell that she must have missed again. Dammit.. I have to do something to help her out... He then looked down at his Glaciem Ingis and remembered the sword's power. He clenched his rapier and glanced back up at the Queen, preparing himself to attack. Jomei's rapier began to glow a gold aura as he activated his Quadruple Pain sword skill.. As the Queen brought forth another stinger to attack, Jomei dodged it to the side and ran forward, holding his sword low to the ground. Now right in front of the big wasp, he thrusted his blade into her body rapidly with a powerful four hit combo. The last piercing attack brought the Queen to the ground, a small lightning bolt indicator appearing next to her health bar.. signaling she was briefly immobilized. "Alright, now Piera!"

Piera quickly got to her feet and lowered her center of gravity in a battle ready position when she saw an odd glow from around the oversized wasp monarch. She chanced moving to the side slightly and saw Jomei unleash an unbelievable combo with his rapier, hitting the Queen over and over before stabbing her into the ground. The brunette didn't even realize that it was paralyzed until her ginger friend said something. Snapping into action, she took one step back before running the few feet forward with a jump and then brought her Bleeding Lance down on the golden insect with a fierce grunt. It was odd seeing no reaction but the alchemist backed up regardless. "Nice job. How long does it last?" She asked quickly before gauging its health bar and was happy to see they had brought her into the yellow.

A grin spread across the ginger's face when he saw its HP drop from Piera landing an attack on the Queen. "Great hit! We've got it on the ropes now." He noticed one of the wings of the wasp begin to twitch lightly, and that was when Piera asked just how long this paralock worked. "Well.." The wasp then slowly broke free from being paralyzed, and turned towards the new source of damage. Dammit, no! The wasp prepared its stinger to attack the brunette, but Jomei was able to stop it just in time. Using his <Acrobatics> skill, he climbed up onto the shoulders of the mob. Struggling to keep his balance, he pierced his sword downwards into the Queen's head.. immobilizing her again. As the Queen fell, Jomei lost his balance and fell from the wasp forward, now on the same side as Piera.

Jomei's smile and enthusiasm was infectious and Piera nodded at his statement. "Thanks to you." She waited for him to answer how long the paralyze would last when suddenly the Queen began to move, aiming its stinger straight at her. The brunette's heart lodged in her throat for a split second as she froze involuntarily. And then she saw a green and ginger blur atop the overly large wasp as Jomei leaped atop the Queen to stab her. His attack paralyzed her which of course instantly locked her wings and caused both of them to drop, the bard rolling off of her next to Piera. The brunette immediately wanted to help her friend up, but remembered that the insect would only stay paralyzed for so long and so took advantage while she could. Running straight for the wasp monarch, the alchemist flung out her Bleeding Lance to stab deeply at her back, scoring a critical hit as well as causing the monster to bleed. Satisfied for once, Piera quickly jumped back and offered Jomei a hand up if he wasn't already on his feet. "We make a pretty good team."

As Jomei hit the ground rolling, he quickly picked his body up to be in a kneeling position, just in enough time to see Piera take off towards the Queen Wind Wasp. She held her lance at the ready, and drove it through the beast's chest, dealing maximum damage. After removing her lance from the enemy, which left a large gaping hole in its chest, the Queen itself seemed to be bleeding from the hole in its stomach. Jomei took the opportunity to land another blow on it, just before the paralyze effect wore off. He ran forward, his body low keeping a low center of gravity. He sped past the Queen wasp, slashing it on its side. As he turned around, he noticed it just was not enough to finish it off. However.. it seemed to sway back and forth.. its health bar suddenly dropping to zero. Piera's attack caused the monster to bleed out. The large pest then exploded into blue pixels, a <Congratulations!> Banner popping up over Piera's head, as well as a reward screen. "Well, congrats. Looks like you got the killing blow."

Piera watched with tense muscles as Jomei quickly followed her attack, dealing a good bit of damage with a slash of his rapier. She was just about to jump in and help to finish it off, noticing that it only had a sliver of red health left, when it exploded. "Oh." She stated with wide eyes, having forgotten about the bleed damage that her weapon had dealt to the Queen. Seeing the menu pop up congratulating her on killing the boss, completing the quest as well as rewarding her the quest items and last hit bonuses, the brunette couldn't help but grin. "Holy crud! But I didn't- I mean there wasn't really a 'killing blow'. I kinda feel like I KS'ed you since you did all the hard work." Her expression was somewhat apologetic, but she still couldn't hide the happy smile on her face even as she bit her lip. "C'mon, let's get outta here! I wana show you my shop and put this on the shelf!"

The alchemist hurried ahead, practically sprinting through the forest and was infinitely glad that the wasps hadn't respawned yet as they made their way back to the safe zone. Activating the teleporter, Jomei and herself were transported to Delilah Village on the third floor and she eagerly lead the way to her little cottage shop at the very inner edge of the safe zone. "Here we are! Home sweet shop. Piera's Potent Potions." Said shop owner unlocked the door and a light bell chimed as she opened it for her ginger friend before entering and turning the sign to read 'open'. "Hm, guess Lee's not around." She remarked to herself as she didn't hear anyone greet her. Shrugging, the brunette opened her menu and materialized the Matriarch's Stinger in her hands before walking over and carefully setting it in a place of honor atop her otherwise barren shelves.

Jomei chuckled at the girl, who was both excited and apologetic for killing the field boss, feeling she might have gotten away with an easy kill steal. He walked up to the brunette, standing in front of her, he placed both of his hands on her shoulders with a smile, "You earned it. Don't be sorry." he said with a smile. "I was probably just going to give you all the winnings anyway." he laughed again. The girl then took off, wanting to bring her new trophy to her shop, which Jomei had yet to see. With a nod, he followed after the girl who was hurrying through the forest. After a pretty safe run back to Urbus, Jomei followed Piera to the warp pad. "Warp, Delilah Village!" And following after Piera, he vanished in a white light. 

The two appeared on the peaceful Floor Three, in the heart of Delilah Village. Jomei honestly did not spend enough time on this peaceful floor. He did not have much time to take in the scenery before Piera was off running again towards the very outskirts of the town. Eventually, she brought him to a small house looking building on top of a small hill. Jomei smiled at how beautiful the scene was. He followed the girl into the shop, which was organized in a very fun and interesting way. "This is an awesome place you have here." he said with a smile on his face.

Piera stood aside as Jomei looked around her shop and felt a bit bashful as he complimented it. "Thanks. I, uh....spent a lot of time setting it up just how I wanted it. Probably more than necessary but I figured since I'd be living here and all...." She shrugged before glancing at the venom in it's highly decorative glass casing. "Kinda looks like honey." She remarked absently. Suddenly she was filled with a sense of accomplishment and simple 'right-ness'. Turning and looking at her ginger friend she said sincerely, "Thank you Jomei. I can't tell you how much this means to me. Come by here any time you want. I'll give you discount. Or even if you just want to hang out or chat or something. I'll be here." The alchemist's face shone with emotion and contentedness.
