F4: The Wanderer's Forge - Blacksmith (Special Order Only, Tell me what you want made.)

Recommended Posts

At the sound of a female voice a small, round, furry head popped out from underneath one of the display tables situated around the tent-based shop. Issuing a sharp snuffling cry of greeting, Chewie rumbled out from beneath the table and began a bear cubbish charge in Vale's direction, squalling greetings as he advanced. Vale was a woman, anyone could see that. Women gave food treats to cute bear cubs, everyone knew that. Chewie was a very cute grizzly bear cub, anyone that couldn't see and understand that fact was just plain stupid. Reaching Vale the cub proceeded to flop, outlandishly, across her feet and roll around a little bit before opening his snout that was full of sharp teeth and pointing one clawed toe down his throat in a playful, but very important, demand to be given something to eat. Because no one ever fed him. No one. "Feed the bear and they're yours," a voice rumbled from somewhere out of sight where there was a ringing of a hammer striking metal.

@Vale

As the tent flap to the shop opened, a wet black nose poked out from under the display table with the 'Free' items on it. Before Chewie could go rumbling out though, the player had picked up a free item and wandered back out into the cold. Clearly, this player did not understand what 'free' actually meant. 'Free' meant that the player had to give him something to eat. Everyone knew that.

Free items had a treat tax and that treat tax would be paid!

Growing a battle cry, the grizzly cub surged out from beneath the table and rumbled forth out the tent flap in hot pursuit of @Aoda. Given the snowy ground it was not a great challenge to follow the man. With a surge of energy, the cub rounded a corner and plowed headfirst into the back of Aoda's legs. Growling again, Chewie wormed his way around Aoda and then flopped across the man's feet. Pointing one clawed toe at the item that had been taken, Chewie then opened his mouth and pointed down his throat. The meaning was very clear.

Anthium lifted the flap and ducked into the shops interior shaking himself slightly as a chill ran down his spine. Looking about he ran his fingers through his red beard and murmured approvingly at the equipment on display. His eyes alighted on the "Free" sign and his lips split with a wide grin as he walked over to examine the wares. It was a moment before his eyes found the helm and with a breathe of wonder lifted the snarling bears face from the table. Turning it in his hands he was struck with the craftsmanship and the detail put into rendering suck a piece. It was almost like holding the head of the great beast in his hands and when he opened the items stats he about dropped it in surprise.

"Well, then," He said running a thumb along the black incisors "your certainly something I have a use for." He looked up and about.

"Hey Mack! You in?" His voice was deep as he shouted for the smith curious as to what the helm would really cost.

Yuurei looked at the sign on the shop, then to the corresponding note she had wrote herself. The matched: The Wanderer’s Forge. People had told her the man who worked this forge gave out weapons for the weaklings in the game. They also told her to bring food, which was weird, but she did nevertheless. Yuurei crumpled up the piece of paper and tossed into the trashcan next to the opening by the tent. Heat waved across her face gently as she stepped food inside, a welcoming change from the snowy atmosphere of the fourth floor. On the other side of the tent, she could see the forge lit and burning.

“Hello? Is anyone in?” She called out before stepping further into the tent. It was the middle of the day, so they should be open, but Yuurei knew basic manners and wasn’t going to walk into a store without the proprietor present, lest she wants to be confused for a robber.

Aoda nearly jumped as a small bear cub had decided to charge him. At first, he thought it was a monster, who had decided to aggro him. But he quickly realized that he was, in fact, inside of the safezone. A familiar, then? The bear aimed a claw at the so called "Free" weapon, while another was directed at his mouth. "You want to eat the sword?" Aoda asked in a confused tone.

Suddenly, the possibility that the animal was not looking to consume the blade came to mind. Perhaps he was looking for food? Quickly, the player pulled up his inventory, looking through for anything he could give the bear cub. Unsurprisingly, there was no sort of food. "I've got nothing for you buddy. Sorry." He told the seemingly defender of the shop in a quiet tone, carefully kneeling down to pet him. Part of Aoda wished he had known about the food thing before showing up. "Next time I'm here I'll bring you double, deal?"

The cookie bag never even hit the ground. The second it left Row's hands Chewie scampered forward, leaped into the air, and snared the bag in his jaws. Like a bolt of fuzzy lightning, the cub was off as fast as his legs would carry him. He shot beneath one of the heavy wooden display tables that was loaded down with equipment and quickly disappeared around one corner of the forge. Out of sight, out of mind. Besides, the pink haired girl that couldn't even pick him up to properly pet him had dropped the cookies. Everyone knew that when you dropped something it was no longer yours.

Obviously.

That meant she didn't want the cookies. What it really meant was that she was giving all the cookies that were still in the sack to Chewie.

Obviously.

From somewhere out of sight horrifying noises were heard and the occasional spray of crumbs shot into the air like Old Faithful and the cub guzzled down the sweets as fast as possible, lest anyone try to take them away from him or, worse, make him share them.

Anthium's jaw sagged ever so slightly as the armor settled on the table and snapped shut again on seeing the stats of the heavy armor and then the huge sword. These were exactly the kind of tools he needed to go anywhere he needed to. Before he could equip anything though there was a whine from about knee level and his gaze fell upon a young bear cub. It's claws pointing to it open mouth that was flecked with crumbs already. Confused for a moment then it struck him and he opened his pack and dropped two sandwiches. Then he equipped the armor and sword feeling the strength fill him as the armor enclosed his body and settle into place.

"Now this is a good start."

Kisodeth was freezing from the climate of this fourth floor. Teeth chattering like mad, but she would prevail through this damnable weather at any cost. If the rumor was true, she would be getting a huge advantage above the other players at this stage. Blue eyes shot through the blanket of white, her feet lifting up and stomping down in the cold snow drifts until she found her way to the Tent. "This must be it," she said with a low voice. The warmth of the forge had drawn her in, and she found pleasure in that warmth when she finally stepped in. Letting out a relaxed sigh as she unbundled her arms from her body, the woman was met face to face with what appeared to be a familiar? Chewie had cocked his head to the side at the stranger, he remembered the last time something like this happened. THAT would not happen again.

A full charge had broken through, four mighty paws slapping down on the ground as he ripped towards her. "Hey!" Kisodeth lifted one arm ready to defend herself when the cub slid forward, stopping at her feet. His massive maw opened as he pointed a sharp finger towards his mouth. The woman had thought she was to be attacked by this Guardian Bear, but that did not happen. She casually blinked at the creature, "Is your Master around?" she asked looking at the weaponry and the armor, a small smile hinting that she had her eye on a few pieces. She popped her neck and took a glance at the note and then at the Bear, "Hungry huh? And for free equipment." The woman brought a hand up and over the menu and selected her consumables. She had a ton of bread still, but she knew better than to feed a carnivore a worthless treat. She looked at the bear, "I hope you will be happy with this cus I was saving it for later." In her hand had appeared a medium rare slab of meat, thick cut and seasoned. It wiggled in the air before she launched it into the mouth of bear familiar and turned her head. She had immediatly regreted giving that thing her dinner for the night. But equipment was free...and she needed it fast. Making a note for the Master of the Bear.

"Left the bear some food, I hope you don't mind me taking some of the equipment as per your directions. Since I fed the bear for the equipment, that is an equal trade off. Please don't look me up. Ever."

- Kiso

The woman nabbed the Death's StingDeath's Embrace, and the Winter's Discontent equipment from the side. It was like a set made just for her, this guy was strange and odd to have such a taste for the naming and look of his equipment. She accepted the items gladly and stepped over the bear as he was chowing down on that steak. All was well and she left to get off this cold, cold, floor.

OOC: Fed the bear, thanks Mack!

Hakai walked into the shop, interested in its appearance. It was comfortable inside, despite seeming to be fairly open. To be fair it almost seemed as though the structure was temporary, with its thick canvas walls, although Hakai knew better than that. She wasn't there by luck, or because she had thought the forge looked interesting. She had gone to great lengths to get her demonic weapon back, and now that she was on her way to meet up with the man who would help her out with that, she would need an item to change it back to a katana. Her inquiries had led her to Mack, a frontliner who she was only vaguely familiar with. She tended to keep her distance from other people. He was willing to trade her a demonic egg for an old tank item that she had gotten as a boss drop. As a damage dealer it wasn't much use to her, so it was a situation that worked fairly well for her. She pulled out the item, <<Nerius Strength>>, and set it down on the counter in front of her. "I'm looking to trade this for your demonic egg."

Mutsu had wandered through the teleporter in the Town of Beginnings and made her way up to the fourth floor. Ordinarily, at her level, she would not have considered making such a trip since the monsters and mobs on the fourth floor would be pretty well above her ability to deal with. But, the tip she had heard was that there was a player blacksmith who kept his shop on the fourth floor and that the shop was usually found somewhere around the town that had the teleporter in it or, occasionally, just outside the walls of the town so that it would be available to orange players. When she popped out of the teleporter, Mutsu had not expected to be confronted with snow. She was not prepared for the snow, but at least she was in her armor and not a bikini or a tank top. The brunette when skidding down the stairs from the teleporter, jingling merrily, but managed to catch herself before she fell.

Once she got used to the snow, after a few seconds, the floor really wasn't all that bad. It also wasn't all that crowded, which had a good bit of appeal to her.

Tromping through the snow, Mutsu searched for about a half an hour before she found the shop that was housed in a tent. It didn't look like much, but she pushed her way in. When she entered the shop looked empty, but there was an item sitting out on the counter. It looked like a mahogany bracelet with a quartet of emeralds set into it. No bells, but the item still looked reasonably good to Mutsu. She tapped it and considered the stats for a moment. Three charges of +30 Mitigation temporary stat bonus. Mutsu whistled to herself. That would be pretty ok. Retrieving a scrap of paper from her inventory, she scribbled a note explaining that she had taken the item since it had been indicated to her that the shop owner liked to help other players and that, if there was an issue, the blacksmith could message her and she'd return to pay for it.

[+1 Nerius' Strength - +30 MIT for 1 Thread, 3 Uses, non-rechargeable.]
