[F3] Piera's Potent Potions <<Rank 7 Alchemist>> (PK Accessible)

Recommended Posts

It was getting down to the final stretch now that scouts had found the boss room for the next floor. With an official meeting called to strategize the battle and speculate on what they would be going up against, it would only be a matter of days until they actually went up against whatever it was that they'd be fighting this time. Which meant that she had a very limited amount of time to finish both Shield and Macradon's orders. She had finally managed to get a bit of luck and finished both of them in one fell swoop. She might even be able to do a little last minute crafting for any procrastinators. But for now, she sent a message to both @Shield and @Macradon to let them know that their orders were completed and ready to be picked up at their convenience. Now that that was taken care of, she settled in for the tedious business of sorting and labeling her good quality potions.

It wasn't long at all before there was a knock at the door to her shop, causing her to tilt her head in mild confusion before realizing that so far only one other person had bothered to knock. Sure enough, in stepped the simply named tank, causing a friendly smile to spread on the alchemist's lips as she nodded back to him. "Good to see you too Shield." As they exchanged pleasantries, Piera began setting out his order one by one, the potions lined up in a row on the counter in front of him. Eyes flicking back up to the tall man, she smiled slightly at his offer but still nodded. "You're right. On both accounts. I'll keep you in mind. And hey, let me know if you ever need any other alchemical items, or even a healer. Or just someone to talk to." The brunette shrugged, not sure how that last suggestion would be received as so far their interactions had been fairly business-like, even when he had assisted her with a quest. Perhaps it was their age difference, but regardless, she still offered. It was the least she could do considering he had lent his ear when he found her at the Monument of Life.

Accepting the trade without accepting anything in return as he had payed when he first made the order, Piera then became somewhat serious as he told her to take care of herself. "You too, okay?" The casual answer asked with absolute seriousness and concern. She suddenly felt awkward, not knowing the man well enough to ask him not to take any undue risks, especially considering that he was a tank, so it was pretty much in his job description. But she still would really prefer he not die. No, she had to had faith. He seemed like a experienced and careful person. Shaking her head slightly, Piera smiled and said with a little more positive enthusiasm, "Good luck. See you around Shield."

Hikoru walked in quietly. He needed items for the upcoming boss fight, and he had heard about a flash sale, something that he could use for this last second setup. He really should have gotten that done, but he had been too busy with training to come and get any items from any of the stores. He pulled down his hood to reveal his eyes, gray and dull without any emotion. He had lost faith in people, and he knew that he couldn't trust anyone but himself. He would check these items and their enchantments before he took them, so he wouldn't be sabotaged beforehand and be left for dead at the boss fight. He came over to the stores counter and rang a bell, hoping to gain the young girl's attention

"You have any Mitigation and Damage potions? I need one of each if you have some." He said with a small nod. "I can pay if need be, although I would prefer not to, as i'm trying to save up." He quietly added. He awaited a response from the girl and hoped that she would have some waiting for him.

It was hard for Piera to focus lately. A lot had happened in the last few days. Jomei's escape had brought about many things. The least of which was the revelation for many about the truth concerning Lowenthal's death. It also didn't help that even putting aside all of that drama, she felt intensely guilty for not questioning her friend's disappearance. Lowenthal was like a brother to him, how could she think that he wouldn't have said something to her when it happened or raised some sort of fuss? No, she had just been content to hide in her shop with Lee and pretend like the rest of the world didn't exist. To think that he had been captured by the same b@st@rds that did the same to herself as well as Lee... And he felt guilty for 'allowing' it to happen... The alchemist was intensely concerned for her friend's mental state considering all that had happened. But she also didn't want to hover...

So here she was, trying to keep herself busy and her mind occupied. The former was far easier than the latter though sadly. Organizing some of her older items that hadn't sold yet, the brunette dusted the vials off before holding one up to the light, glad that potions couldn't expire. Shaking her head she decided that this wasn't nearly as engaging as she needed it to be and instead put them away and took out eight various materials. She began washing, skinning, cutting and grinding the assortment of materials after pouring in the base solution into her cauldron and lighting a fire under it, waiting for it to boil.

She was so absorbed in her task that she didn't hear her door opening until the bell on her counter was rang to get her attention. Looking up from her work, Piera froze upon seeing who it was. As she met the new Master of Shadows' eyes, she could swear she felt the edge of a blade against her throat once more. But then he asked about potions and she began to breathe again. Blinking, the woman stumbled verbally as she glanced from the simmering cauldron to the teenager, "Hikoru... Um, I don't have any currently, but let me see if I can whip some up? It shouldn't take long..." Lips pursed as she began to add the materials to the now boiling solution, she used her enhanced crafting ladle to stir. "I assume you're wanting perfect tier two potions? Or would rare do?"

Eyes shifting away as Hikoru stated that he'd rather not pay as he was trying to save up, though for what he didn't mention. Chewing on the inside of her cheek for a moment, Piera compromised, "I can give you a discount. Five hundred col or one material for each item. Just so I can break even and craft something else or buy another material." It was a way better deal than she had offered up on the player's board and on the small sign out in front of her shop. She could've just let him have that original sale price, but he was a friend and protege of Lowenthal's, not to mention going through a rough time losing his mentor and fiance in one fell swoop. The fact that she was still slightly wary and on edge around him because of his hasty actions towards her didn't hurt either.

After Shield had left her shop, Piera thought about what to do next. Usually she wouldn't take a break until the boss fight officially started. But for once she had completed all outstanding orders. She just needed to finish up these last two... Itzal seemed a genial player and he was still awaiting his potions. Seeing her material stores, she made a note to go out to the eleventh floor once more, perhaps with Lee again so they could talk more. For now she concentrated on the materials she had. Her mind kept wandering though as she began preparing the various items.

Thinking of those fighting right now. Many of them her customers at one point or another. The people she had seen pass through her shop. These walls had certainly seen a lot, hadn't they? And the money! She wasn't outrageously rich by Aincrad's standards, but certainly better off than she had been in reality. She kept a log of every transaction she ever did, even if they were donations.

Feeling nostalgic as she waited for the potions to cool, the healer drew up her transactions list before frowning in confusion. "Eh...?" She could've sworn that Shield had paid. When he had put in his order he had bought some items and also donated a few materials, but he hadn't paid for the order. Which was understandable, she usually had customers pay when they picked up their items. But what with the boss fight fast approaching, she had forgotten completely, likely he had too.

Cursing under her breath for her forgetfulness, she was fairly sure that she could catch up to him. Rustling her owl griffon's feathers on his head she called out, "Watch the store Jareth!" To which he chirruped in annoyance, which she took for a 'yes'.

Piera sighed in content and accomplishment as she finished the last touches on the potions she was working on. It felt good to have this feeling back. At one point she wasn't sure that she'd ever feel it again after being forced to churn out potions and crystals day in and day out with little to no detail or care. But her pride in her work managed to return. Flicking her menu open with a finger, the brunette sent @Itzal a message to let him know that the items he had ordered were finally ready to be picked up whenever he liked. With that out of the way, Piera then focused on her next batch.

Itzal received a message from Piera that his potions were completed.  So he returned to her shop and walked in, Velnia flying around yet again.  This time she was a bit more observant and saw the owl for the first time and landed in front of it, cocking her head as she observed it before giving a playful grin as a greeting, making it clear that she wanted to be friends.  She loved having playmates and friends and wanted to be friends with all the familiars, or as many as she could.  Itzal noticed the familiar and chuckled towards Velnia's initial greeting.  This would keep her distracted from the many potions he thought.  He walked up to the counter and nodded to Piera with a smile.  "I got your message.  Thank you so much for crafting these for me.  With them I'll be able to take on a quest now.  Here, you've earned this."  He placed ten tier two materials on the counter for her.  Sure the pricing was four tier two per order but he felt like he should start tipping players again.  He nodded with a smile and inserted the items in his inventory.  As he walked out he turned around to look at Velnia.  "Hey Velnia, time to go!"  With that the too left the shop.

Piera was holding a potion flask up to the light of her window, facing away from the counter and thus the front door when she heard a squawk of surprise from Jareth as he had been dozing when the amethyst scaled dragon zoomed up to him on the stairs. The sudden noise caused the alchemist to jump slightly, the liquid sloshing in the bottle but thankfully not spilling as she turned and brightened upon seeing Itzal. Meanwhile the owl griffon's head tilted ninety degrees to the right as he observed the return intruder with a interest, letting out a chirrup that sounded halfway between a chirp and a meow.

"Hey Itzal." The brunette greeted in return to his nod before nodding in acknowledgement of his thanks. "Glad to make em. Hm?" She hummed in confusion as she looked down at the materials he placed on her counter. "Eh? But you already paid..." Smiling at the tip, Piera expressed, "Thank you for this, seriously. I'll be sure to put these to good use! Keep safe!" She called out after him as he walked towards the door. As Velnia perked up at her master's call, Jareth batted playfully at her tail as she left.

Letting out a happy sigh, Piera began sorting through the materials she'd just been given and got to crafting.

Kaya waltz into Piera's Potent Potions, her mouth agape from all the potions and crystals lining the wall. This was her first time in a shop like this so this was all new to her. They all looked cool and wonderful. Kaya browsed the wares as she kept her eyes wide open. It didn't take long for Kaya to eventually find herself wandering to the alchemist of the establishment. "H-hi! Could I order these from you? I jut want 1 of each. T1 please." Kaya spoke somewhat hesitant. She wasn't really sure about the items she's order, but she had a feeling she'll need them in the up and coming quest she's going to take, "The Gemini."

As he made the way towards Piera’s stall, Macradon would make sure he had everything he needed for him to succeed on this. The first place to visit was the third floor in the grassy fields. A small house was located out close to the forests, this was where Piera’s shop was. Entering the shop, Macradon would be adorned with green and black robes. Templar’s Redemption on his back harness. His right hand with a pouch with payment, his left hand wrapped in chains that chained down the large three headed cerberus Belphegor. This was very unlike the last time he visited, where he and Balthazar came by to buy potions while Macradon was wearing his normal red and white armor. Belphegor did not like being with strangers, but because what Macradon had shown to him earlier, he tried to be nice to those he did not know, that was including monsters, familiars and buildings. “Hey Piera, I’m in need of some potions, can you make some quickly, unless you already have them in stock, then it would be perfect” he said and would hand over a small piece of paper with what he needed written onto it. Macradon had not time to count materials for the job, he probably would another time if he wasn't in a hurry, but would hand over a pouch with appropriate amount of Col for the potions.

Piera was pouring fervently over a basic guide to crystal crafting with a fine tooth comb (at least figuratively) when she heard the chime of her door opening. She assumed that it was Lee, or possibly Jomei. She hardly got customers anymore and so her head slowly began raising but her eyes didn't leave the page until she caught the view of a rather odd adornment on the person who had walked in. Spectacled eyes snapped up, taking in the green and black robes with confusion and mild trepidation at the 'intruder'. At least until she stared at his face for a moment and recognition dawned on her. "Macradon, right?" Normally Piera's memory was fairly shoddy, not remembering names and faces very well unless she'd seen them at least a couple of times. But written word always seared itself into her mind's eye, so when a customer put in an order, their name usually stuck with her. Nodding as he handed a piece of paper on which he'd written his order, she listened with half an ear, continuing to bob her head as she glanced over the order. "Hmm... I have a couple rare damage potions, but not perfect, I'll have to craft those. Shouldn't be too hard though for those. The mitigation ones will take me a bit longer though."  Smiling in surprise as he already gave her the pay up front, the brunette chuckled, "Well that certainly makes it a bit easier. Just so you know though, you don't usually have to pay up front. Buuut since you did, I can use these tier three materials to craft your mit pots. So it works out. I'll get to crafting right away. I'll message you soon as I have'm ready, yeah?"

Rubbing her eyes as she entered her shop, Piera covered her mouth as she yawned, narrowly avoiding tripping over Jareth as he shot inside, scampering to sit on the stairs, sniffing around the mildly dusty shop. "Go...mouse or somethin'." The brunette shooed her familiar as she walked around to the counter, taking out her Potioneer's kit and setting it up, she looked over her menu. She had managed to nearly craft half of Macradon's order, but still had one more tier three mitigation potion to make before she'd move on to the damage potions. Frowning slightly at the Knights of the Blood Oath symbol next to her customer's name, the brunette shook her head, trying to get into the groove. Maybe if she could crank out these potions she could see about doing some research on crystals for the rest of the day. If only the Holy Dragon Alliance had another alchemist she could talk with. Though perhaps she should see about looking out of just her own profession for the answer.

Shaking a hand through her hair to brush some of the leaves from her wavy locks, Piera settled down at her crafter's station. She'd managed to do a little bit of grinding today. Even got some materials out of it. Just tier one, but those were just what she needed to finish Macradon's order. Now only if SAO's random number gods would take pity on her and allow her to perfectly craft what she needed. Lighting her burner, the brunette cracked her knuckles and laid out her materials before getting started.

Nomming on the sweet oatmeal from the bowl in her hand, Piera gave a contented sigh as her feet swung lightly from her elevated position on the stool of her shop. Jareth was picking apart some sort of grilled lizard. She felt...blessedly normal for once. Not overjoyed...but content. Getting out more, doing quests again and crafting regularly, getting orders, seeing her friends, even joining a guild! And of course planning for their wedding... It made her feel normal. Like things weren't so bleak, though the situation hadn't changed more. Inhaling slowly and deeply, the brunette let it out, gazing around her shop. It had certainly been a while since she'd opened this shop up. Not much had changed, other than the wares and herself. Briefly, her emotions dimmed at that slightly depressing thought, but she shook herself before taking another breath and smiling at her griffon. "Let's see if we can finish Macradon's order today, hm?" The owl griffon licked his beak before beginning to clean himself in a very feline manner in response.
