Carambit 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted August 16, 2015 [ID# 27755][BD=2] (Miss)[MD=6] (Hit)Carambit: 8/11Wolf: 2/2Wolf: 2/2His blade glided over the head of the wolf, and scared it just enough for it to jump out of his way and take a few steps away from him. Unfortunately for the brunet, it left him wide open for an attack from the other wolf. It wasted no time in latching onto his forearm with it's teeth and sinking into his armor. Carambit was able to shake it loose, and swung with his sword once again. He missed, but the swing was enough to make it jump back and give him some breathing room. "Right. That didn't work. But that doesn't mean I'm giving up!"Determined not to give the creatures any time to think, he ran at the one that bit him for some revenge. "Come here you bugger! I'll rip you apart!" Carambit 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author #22 Share Posted August 16, 2015 [ID# 27757][BD=1] (Critical fail)[MD=1] (Critical fail)Carambit 8/11Wolf: 2/2Wolf: 2/2Carambit started swinging his sword, one swing after another, each leading into one another. He tried to keep it as fluid as possible so as to avoid leaving a gap where the wolf could step in. To his amazement, his every swing was missing the animal. It continually stepped back, staying just out of his reach. The other wolf was unable to get close enough due to Carambit's wide swings and decided it was best to keep it's distance. He would have done the same thing; there was no point risking getting hit unless he was sure he would land something. When his arm was too tired to continue, he jumped away from the wolves, stepping back a few paces and steadying himself. He held his sword out in front of him, taking up a defensive stance, and began to normalize his breathing. "That didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped..." he thought to himself. "Maybe if I keep trying individual attacks rather than a flurry, I might have a better chance." His arm began to charge another sword skill attack and he decided to make the most of it. He took a few steps back toward the same wolf. "Let's see if I can bring this thing down, once and for all!"
Carambit 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted August 16, 2015 [ID# 27759][BD=1] (Critical fail)[MD=5] (Miss)Carambit: 8/11Wolf: 2/2Wolf: 2/2He lunged his sword toward the first wolf's head, but was surprised to see the wolf step aside, and bite at the blade of his sword; the motion of which was just enough of a sudden movement that the hilt slipped from his hand. The wolf held his sword in it's mouth for a moment before whipping it's head and casting the weapon aside. Carambit took a couple of steps back, still facing the two animals that began to stalk closer and closer to him. "Alright... I'm gonna need that back..." he realized out loud as he discovered that he had no backup weapon; an issue he would have to rectify upon returning to town.He crouched down and readied his feet. He would have to time this perfectly if he was going to get his sword back and survive this battle without being mauled to death. He stepped a few times quickly on the spot before sprinting at full speed toward the wolves. He jumped, stepped on the head of the wolf that bit him as support, and kicked off, launching himself over the top of the two enemies, and landing with a crouch beside his sword. He picked it back up and dusted off the handle. The wolves approached him again as he stood upright. "Don't touch my stuff, man." he sneered at the animals.
Carambit 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted August 16, 2015 [ID# 27761][BD=9] (Hit +1)[MD=6] (Hit)[LD=10] (no loot)Carambit: 7/11Wolf: 0/2Wolf: 1/2The wolves charged at him together this time, but Carambit was having none of their nonsense anymore. He had had a gutful of them, and it was time to finish them off. He stepped easily aside from one of them, leaving himself open for damage from the second wolf, but he knew that it would not be able to injure him enough to kill him. He swung across the first wolf, slicing it clean in two, right down the middle. It exploded into shards, and Carambit was now able to focus his attention on the other wolf.As it tried to bite into him, he thrust his shoulder up into it's jaws. It would damage him, yes, but it would also injure the wolf. The impact of his shoulder into the beast's mouth was enough to launch it back into the dirt. It had taken damage from his counter, and was left with half of it's remaining HP. He could finish it now, and he knew it. He wasted no time in readying his sword and launching one last charge. "Come on! Let's finish this!"
Carambit 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author #25 Share Posted August 16, 2015 [ID# 227763][BD=10] (Hit +2)[MD=2] (Miss)[LD=18] (Item drop)Carambit: 13/13Wolf: -3/2 (get owned, son!)Carambit dashed for the wolf as quickly as possible, allowing it no time to prepare itself for what was to come. He ran his sword along the ground beside him, cleaving a path in the dirt. He let out a warcry, pushing all of his anger and frustration into this swing. He lifted the sword from the ground and tore through the wolf as it stood to it's feet, slicing it in two. After this attack, he took another step, pivoted on the spot, and ran his blade through the two halves of the wolf, piercing them through the center, just to be sure he had finished it off.The wolf exploded on his blade, and he was shown a CONGRATULATIONS! screen. It included the experience he had gathered from fighting all of the wolves, enough to level him up once again. It also showed that he had obtained an item from them. A Wolf's Fur Coat. He decided to check it out, so he selected it through his inventory screen and spawned it into his hands. It was surprisingly soft. The interior of the coat was made up of warm, soft wolf's fur, and the exterior was crafted from a black leather. It really was a fine coat, and he knew it would come in very handy in cold climates. He equipped it and allowed it to drape over his shoulders, running down the length of his body, stopping unraveling half way down his shins.Content with his prize, he decided to start making his way back to town. If this was what the game had to offer during the day, then he dreaded to see what nightmarish creature could rear it's head at night.
Carambit 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) Once he was back in town, Carambit sunk into the cafe's chair. He had been through quite a workout today, but it had all paid off in the end. He had boosted himself up to level 5 with some intense training. He had a much higher survival rate than most others that had stayed in this town and not gone out to fight. He understood now, that unless he tried, unless he gave it his all in this world, then he would never progress anywhere. That was the idea. That was the point of all of this. That's why people had to co-operate in this world. Unless they actually made an effort to put themselves in harm's way and get things done, then they would get nowhere. He took a deep breath and looked up to the sky. After all of that, he was still on floor one, and there were a hundred floors to burn through. He knew that he was to be confined to this world for a good, long time. No amount of sadness or loathing or woe would change that. If he wanted anything from this game, Carambit would have to get up, step forward and take it. He needed to be confident with his decisions and not be screwed over by the system. He had to be strong. Not just for himself, but for those who were confined to this town and couldn't be strong themselves. He would try his hardest to not just leave this game himself, but take as many people home to safety as he could manage. Even if one day, it killed him. There was a bigger picture than just his own survival. That was part of the co-operative nature of this world. Everyone wasn't just fighting for themselves, but they were all fighting for each other. Brothers, sisters, friends, everyone. They all had someone who they couldn't lose; whether that be in this game, or outside in the real world, that he one day hoped to return to. He took another breath and relaxed in his chair. For now, at least, the battle was over, and he would have some time to prepare himself for the intense fights that were still to come.SUMMARY:400 Col + 1 SP Edited August 16, 2015 by Carambit
