Kalesh 0 Posted August 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Okay, here is the situation, my character has yet to kill anything but has achieved level 2 by sheer effort alone apparently. He started the quest level 1, is it okay to make him level 2 for battle purposes from now on? Is it customary to not level up until the end of the thread?
Bjorn 0 Posted August 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Unless your already in a battle, or you were intending to stay at that level when you started the thread, then I would just go ahead and use your new level. If your in battle, I'd avoid leveling until after the battle. Of course this is just my opinion, and I have no idea what is customary as I'm fairly new myself.
Lindow 0 Posted August 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2015 In typical MMOs that I have played, you can use your levels immediatly. I have never heard of a cool down of progression. Here, levels are based on your post count. So the more RP posts you make, the more levels you will gain and that is in direct corellation with your HP. Your HP = Level x 2 +3. If you are using the mechanic for situations in the RP itself, I guess it comes down to a matter of taste WHEN your character levels up.
Takao 0 Posted August 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2015 You can level up in the middle of a thread, you just can't do it in the middle of a fight. You can also learn new skills during a thread as well, but just like levels, you can't do it mid-battle.If you were looking for an excuse for why your character would suddenly have experience despite not fighting anything, some games award experience for exploration. Otherwise you could just say he fought something "off screen", so long as you don't give yourself items or anything.
