[PP-F1] Journey Log #1: Meeting a new ally. (Daeimos & Takao)

Recommended Posts

With the summer days of the first floor such a common sight to Daeimos, the azure sky littered with the same puffy white cotton balls making the sun play hide and seek with everyone. The warmth being replaced with a gentle cool breeze as the winds came washing over the floors main town, the Town of Beginnings. Such a large town was more like a City to Daeimos, seeing how he was used to Washington and the large place, this almost could have been mistaken for a small city if not a town but now in the main plaza. The same place where he first began his journey the giant cobblestone fountain. His same attire as before the minus the red and blue turban, his  a sleeveless brown leather vest, with tan coloured decor, dark sand brown trousers. Leather knee guards with various straps and a pair of leather sandals. His green eyes gazing at the sky for he was laying upon it with his left leg crossed over the right knee and his arms behind his head which sported a style of mess brown locks, while his Olive brown skin complimented his hair and eyes quite nicely. A Arabic Scimitar placed upon his chest, sheathed and in a position where he could quickly grab if it he was to jump up and head off to a new location, his mood seemly to be rather docile and calm like, while it had a sense of alertness in it while still being rather lax and lazy. His eyes focused upon the clouds as they rolled over them, mumbled words leaked from his lips as he spoke to himself in some foreign language, too subtle for the auto translator to pick up. A slight accent could be heard from his worlds, some words had a slight roll of the R's and though this was present still sounded American like but alas was difficult to uncover if one was not well suited to the language or accustomed to the fact that it was none Japanese oriented.

It seemed like Takao was beginning to spend every other day on the first floor, most of the time wandering around aimlessly after he finished with his daily routines and grinding sessions on the higher floors. It had even gotten to the point that he was beginning to forgo his usual armour and equipment, instead opting to only wearing the high-collared black shirt that was usually worn under his usual getup, as well as his pants and boots, though without the more protective additions. His sword was, as always, slung over his shoulder however - very rarely did he ever go without it. Unlike his normal excursions on the lower floor, Takao's reasoning for being on the lower floor had a purpose. Not even ten minutes ago he'd met with an Information Broker to, as one would expect, trade information. The brunet had handed over some map data for a few uncommonly explored dungeons, and the broker had given him some information about the state of the upcoming boss fight. The information was precisely the reason his habitual smile was replaced with an inexpressive thin line. With his business wrapped up in the City of Beginnings, Takao had decided to head off for the teleport gate through a plaza, and had been passing by a fountain when he'd heard somebody mutter something incomprehensible. He stopped and turned toward the source of the voice. "Uh... Sorry, did you say somethin' to me?"

The sounds of the birds chirping in the distance, and the voices of people around him blaring in his, but one seemed to catch his attention as he looked over towards the source of the noise to see a player. This player seemed to ask him if he was talking to him, hearing the phrase "Uh... Sorry, did you say somethin'' to me?" And his response was a witty one, Partake that now I am, before not likely, sorry if I startled you good fellow." With now his hands leaning him up and his Scimitar sliding off, he just propped his leg up to allow the weapon to slide down and rest on the cobblestone street before his foo kicked it up and he caught it with his hand. "Can't say that I ever seen you around here before, the names Daeimos, pleasure to meet you." He said holding out his left hand as his right one held the weapon he kicked up, as his voice rolled out of his mouth so did the accent of his R's rolling as well. With a slight American accent as well as a Persian or Arabic tone, if his slightly deep yet light tone voice and mixed accent didn't give him away his skin surely would have His dark brown hair fluttering as the wind gently washed over the area, a smile upon his face as his pearl white teeth flashed at the young man before him, Daeimos wondered to himself if this player was someone who could provide him info of the area or even assist him in his journey. All he knew was that he would have to wait since the player yet even attempted to respond to his warm greeting, from his view at least.

His head tilted to the side as he got a response - not particularly one he was expecting, and especially not one he fully understood. One of his eyebrows quirked upward and a look of confusion set in on his face, and it stayed until he introduced himself. The change of topics helped refocus the train of thought that he'd lost when given the first response. "Oh, uh, I'm Takao, it's nice to meet you too." He said as his usual, genuine smile appeared on his face. "I don't usually spend too much time around here since I'm usually up on the higher floors. Plus there's tons of people in the City of Beginnings anyways, so it'd be pretty unlikely you'd have seen me around anyway." A slight shrug accompanied his words and his hands found his way into the pockets of his trousers. "So, what's that mean? That whole uh... partake now that I am thing?"

Daeimos smiled as he listened to Takao speak, telling him about how he usually spends his time on the higher floor and how there where many people here in the Town of Beginnings, and seeing how that was Daeimos couldn;t have seen him. "Touche my friend, that be true, and I can agree on that part, so your a frontliner I presume? "Seeing how you speak of the higher floors." He proclaimed to Takao, from the looks of it and how he spoke this young man had to be apart of the frontal assault team, such a though triggered Daeimos to gather more information about it. But before he could continue Takao asked a question that Daeimos didn't expect him to ask, "So, what's that mean? That whole uh... partake now that I am thing?" Daeimos rubbed his chin and spoke truthfully to Takao, "Well partake means to join in a activity Sir Takao, and since talking is a activity, I am now partaking in it, before hand I was not, thats what I meant." "Sorry to confuse you, so now tell me, what is it like on the front lines?" This question was to surely give much info out to Daeimos, as it could stand for many things, and could give him a random array of helpful info, Daeimos was surely hoping he could get some juicy info from this encounter. "Iv'e only heard rumors and even then not many people or NPC's that would answer me, perhaps you could fill me in with the information they couldn't give?" He asked as he hoped Takao would provide this info, even though the whole hearing rumors and NPC's was a slight false tale he never asked anyone, but even so it still sparked his interest in what the frontlines were like.

Takao initially nodded in response to Daeimos' observation before actually working up a reply. "Well uh... More or less, I guess you could call me that. I haven't been in any of the boss fights yet, but I was at the meeting for the upcoming raid, and I plan on attending too." He said, as trusting and liberal with information as he always was. He found that it was rather harmless information to give out, given that most information brokers already knew of the details of the meeting. It seemed common for people to assume he was a skilled player too, though he was never sure why. Many of the higher leveled players dressed significantly more extravagant than he did, he'd even known one to wear a tuxedo. Either way, how people thought him to be was very rarely of any importance to him, and he had to remind himself that he was in fact the one to mention higher floors. "Oh, that's all it meant? It seemed a bit more confusing to me than that." He said with a shrug that dismissed his earlier thoughts following soon after. "The frontlines are uh... I guess you could say it's pretty tough. I'm decently leveled though, so they monsters up that way aren't too difficult for me. What kinda information were you looking for?"

Daeimos nodded at Takao's words and listened more to what he had to say, "What kinda information were you looking for?" Was the question that made Daeimos ponder abit longer on, as his mind seemed to comprise a logical response, instead of a typical one any person would ask. "Well if I was to be frank with you, I would like to say floor layouts, and various places that would hold better spawns such as places that not many would come across unless actually looking for it." "Almost like secret training grounds that are hard to come by, and if you have none of that I would like to know the kinds of enemies I would expect from the various floors." That was the sum of what he was trying to get out, before he began his words once more hoping his elongated question didn't take Takao by surprise. "Starting with this floor, what am I to expect here, are their any... rarer monsters or unusual ones that aren't common to come across?" This was his final question for now, until Takao answered his first few, though he was a newly set player, and this whole ordeal was some many would not squander over, he knew the more info he had the better his chances at surviving.

Takao rubbed his jawline as Daeimos specified the kinds of information he was looking for, which ended up being rather typical; not that Takao could blame him. Everybody wanted to know the best places to fight monsters and grind experience or col, or what the best quests to take were. "Well... A lot of the information you're looking for is in the books that information brokers sell in item shops. They'll have map data, monster statistics, and detailed quest information on some floors, and they give them out for free. As for this floor, you won't find anything too treacherous. The fields to the west and north are primarily filled with boars, and sometimes wolves, though they're mostly in the forests. Nepents like to hang around there too - oh, if you ever find one, don't hit the little red fruit thing on their head. It'll attract like... hundreds of them."

When he was forced to take a breath, he cleared his throat and realized he'd started going on about everything he knew already. "There's nothing really rare that spawns on this floor that I can think of, though. Maybe a cyclops or two in some caves? As for secret training grounds and stuff, well... At least on this floor, and some of the others higher up, they're occupied by guilds that don't like to share them. You'd be better off just doing some good ol' fashion leveling and questing."

Daeimos nodded yet again, as he listened to Takao speak the rest of his mind about his information while Daeimos listened he noticed a few female players in the distances gawking at him and Takao. With a smile he crooked his neck towards the woman, and gave Takao a smirk, "Got a couple of hotties checking you out Takao, I'm impressed, little ol me is soo ignored." He said in a very much sarcastic tone of voice, but all things aside he placed a hand on Takao's shoulder and smiled at him, "Other than those two cuties over there turning red like cherries, perhaps you and I can go find some fun?" "Go hunt somethings and maybe I might get lucky and loot a pretty decent sword." He said with a confident tone of voice as he glanced at the ladies and gave them a wink, before one of them nearly fainted, her friend saw this and scooted her friend off before she really did. Daeimos pulled his hand off Takao's should and gave a slight chuckle his smile never leaving his face as his positive aura seemed to be bustling with even more pleasant vibes. He placed one hand on his waist and the other on the pummel of his weapon, giving Takao a sly grin as he looked at the field in the distance, hoping he could score a few kills while he was here.

Takao had noticed Daeimos' gaze shifting and looking elsewhere, though he didn't make any mention of it until his new acquaintance spoke up. The brunet's eyebrows raised, first in surprise at the notion that he was being gawked at, and then at the obvious sarcastic tone in Daeimos' voice. He wasn't too sure where to place the sarcasm's intent, though he didn't care to look into it too much either. Instead he turned his head to glance over his shoulder and scan the area behind him. "Huh? Really?" He said, his tone not holding as much eagerness or excitement as it did disbelief. He set his gaze on them for a brief moment before his expression turned back to a slight frown and he returned his gaze to Daeimos. "That sounds fine to me. I didn't really have much else going on for the rest of the day, so I've got time." Takao shrugged and turned to begin walking toward the distant fields after Daeimos' hand left his shoulder, and only glanced back at him briefly to check and see if he would follow or not. "Don't hold your breath for the drops though. The good ones are really uncommon. If it's a better sword you're lookin' for, there's an easy quest you can do to get one custom made that's as good as any normal monster drop."
