[PP-F1] A Night Full of Stars (Lily)

Recommended Posts

It was night time. Indeed, Blue had never really travelled through the starting town at night but he must say… it was indeed quite brilliant and beautiful. The sky above held mystical wonders as light from the stars shone down upon the world of SAO. Everything was worth inspection and Blue was unable to sleep. However much he wanted to go to sleep after a tiring day of training and gathering materials… he was yet unable to for some strange reason. However, he was not thinking of this negatively at all. Instead, he rather liked being outside on such a peaceful, chilly night… Just how he liked it. With a sigh, he walked on before reaching the park which was, needless to say, quite deserted. He was feeling excited for some reason… some strange reason he was not aware of. With another sigh, he looked up at the stars above that held his interest. The stars seem to be a message to the people of SAO… there was still hope… as long as the stars shone bright.

After a day of doing absolutely nothing but taking naps and walking around, Lily had quite a bit of energy left in the night making her unable to sleep. Lily was getting really bored lately as there was absolutely nothing for her to do except for wandering around the starting city. She was somewhat uncomfortable with going outside of the safe-zone and going to higher floors, simply because she wasn't a high enough level in her own eyes. Fighting was something that Lily was however quite looking forward to, it was actually the reason why the girl had bought the game. She had been training with her sword a bit inside the safe zone, just slashing around and trying to find a suiting way of fighting for herself.

The short girl was walking around the city, staring at her feet as she was thinking about her future plans. She wasn't paying any attention to where she was actually walking to, which she immediatly regretted as she bumped into someone.. Lily was taken out of her trance as she bumped against a person. She backed off slightly and looked up at the black haired boy, somewhat embarrassed about just walking against him. Lily bowed slightly and looked up again as she began to talk in a soft, quiet tone. "Sorry Sir." she said, with a serious expression as always.

Blue was still admiring the chilly night and the stars above when he felt a light bump on the front of his shoulders. He looked down to see a girl that was quite short compared to himself. However, he wasn't sure of her age... as he wasn't very good at telling age judging from appearance. She looked quite young but Blue knew that people's ages don't exactly fit in with their appearance most of the time. Blue, realizing that he hasn't apologized started to apologize when the girl beat him to it. Honestly, it was his fault, the girl was quite short and it was extremely dark outside. The darkness affected his vision and well... he didn't see the girl.

Blue decided that he would have to apologize either way. "Sorry 'bout that." He said. The player seemed to be quite low leveled since her gear seemed to be similar to starting gear but it could honestly just be a starter sword and he was unable to examine the player correctly. Blue shrugged, wondering what such a young lady was doing so late into the day. "So... why are you up at such an hour?" He asked, quite curious.

Lily shook her head as the male that she had just bumped into apologized. "Wasn't your fault." she mumbled as she scanned the area around them. It was really quiet which was kind of obvious because it was so late, Lily could only see 2 older npc's around them, that was it. Lily looked down at the sheathe attached to her purple belt with the basic short sword she got at the start in it. She didn't really know what to say or do so just waited for the man to say something or walk away. After a few seconds of silence the man asked her why she was up this late, probably guessing that she was really young as most people do. Lily looked back up at him, "I couldn't sleep" she said, letting out a quiet sigh as her eyes fell back down onto her sheathe.

The girl had always been bad at conversations with strangers and even people that she knew, so she really had the urge to walk away right now but that would be very rude. Bumping into the man was her mistake, so she had to pay for it by.. talking to him. Lily looked up once again and decided to introduce herself. "I'm Lily, Nice to meet you." she said, putting her hands behind her back.

Blue smiled upon hearing that she wasn't able to sleep just like he. Blue thought he might as well introduce himself to the girl since she went ahead and done it as well. The girl really didn't look strong and he really didn't like to interact with people that is weak and not trying to become strong. This girl looked to fit in one of those categories... but he might as well tell her his name since he'd accidentally bumped into the little girl. With a sigh, Blue started, "The name's Blue, Solo. Nice to meet you as well." He said politely... just like how he was taught to speak when he was a little child. Those were the days. He thought, thinking about the memories, completely forgetting that Lily was still there. The night was calm and peaceful... just like how Blue imagined it to be. A chilly night with just enough warmth to keep players from being creeped out. Kyaba really did well to program this game... if only he wasn't crazy and stupid. Blue thought.

Lily frowned as the man introduced himself. "Solo? So you do everything alone." she mumbled, not really knowing what to think of the man that introduced himself as a color. His parents probably weren't that original I guess. she though, assuming that it was his real name. Lily wrapped her arms around herself and looked at Blue's shoulder, not really knowing what to say or do. As she moved her long hair fell infront of her left eye, making her somewhat annoyed. Lily was a lazy person, so instead of using her hand to wipe it away she decided to try and blow the hair away, which ofcourse didn't really work as she planned. With a slight sigh she moved up her left hand and brushed the lock of hair behind her hair and looked back up at Blue. "Why are you up this late, Blue?" she mumbled, simply repeating the question that he had asked her before. Lily was somewhat curious to get to know the man a bit better as he somehow grabbed her interest by his attitude and appearance.

"Eh. Well... I can't fall asleep." Blue said simply. He never really liked to give any additional information and this included this cute looking girl in front of him. He wouldn't call it attractive... she was just cute. Blue was still completely unsure of the girl's age and honestly, he could care less. He looked at the sky, not attempting to start a conversation... if he could sleep, he would obviously be in bed at the moment. There were absolutely no time to waste. Blue thought. I could probably go boar hunting right now instead of sitting around. I need to get stronger. Blue thought as he turned back to the girl. But somehow I can't leave this girl behind. Blue thought as he sighed. Argh... how stupid. He was having quite a bit of internal conflict with himself.

"hm.. Is there anything I could do for you Blue san?" she mumbled, somewhat regretting her offer. She was curious to what the man was doing when she bumped into the him and probably distracted him, but offering to help him wasn't the best idea. Lily looked up at blue as their conversation faded once again, the man didn't seem to be in the mood to talk which meant that Lily didn't have to try and keep the conversation going. Even though Lily didn't really like being "social", being with someone else made her feel a bit more comfortable than when she was all alone. as blue looked up at the sky Lily looked around, noticing that the npc's had dissapeared. her eyes fell back on the man infront of her after a few seconds of scanning the area.

Blue shuddered. An awkward moment plus cold wind of the night doesn't mix well. He thought realizing that he would probably catch a cold if he did not get out of the open night soon. However, he didn't want to just leave... he liked to keep his cool reputation around here. Blue smiled his attractive smile not like the girl would see in the dark night sky that clothed everything with its lack of lighting. Blue sighed. "So... staying out here probably won't be a good idea. May I invite you for a cup of coffee?" Blue asked like a gentleman he was.

Lily didn't really think about her answer to his offer. "Yes please" she said just a second after he finished his sentence. She had nowhere to go so why wouldn't she accept his offer. She would rather be in a warm room with a cup of coffee than outside in the cold with nothing. Lily wasn't really looking for friends but it was always nice to get to know people a bit better. She didn't know what to expect from the man as she only knew his name so far and that he prefered to do things alone. So far she somewhat liked him as he wasn't one of those super energetic people or yelled "AAAWHHH SOO CUTE" at her as some maids used to do as they thought that made her happy, which it really really did not.

Blue led the way for the young lady to a tavern which was around the corner that he'd spent quite a bit of time in himself. Of course, normally, the tavern was full of players and NPCs but this late in the night, there was absolutely no one here... expect for a few sleepless NPCs chatting away in a corner and a tired waitress that yawned every five minutes, waiting for her shift to end. Blue chose a random spot near the windows before giving Lily a menu in which she could order whatever she wanted as Blue had plenty of Col with him at all time. He looked out the window to see fire flies glinting in the night sky and the night made the world of SAO even more beautiful. He put his chin on his standing arm which he put onto the table in which he could see the outside with his head partially sidewards.

Lily followed the male into a tavern and sat down to the opposite of the male player. It was quite cozy and warm in the tavern which she quite liked. She was also happy that it wasn't crowded, but the reason for that was obviously that it was so late. The short girl wished that it was always so quiet, but sadly there was no way that would happen. Blue gave her a rather large menu but wasn't really sure what to do with it since Lily didn't have any col.. "Uhm.. I don't have any col." she mumbled, looking up at the male who was looking out the window. So far Lily had managed to stay alive of the starting kit's food and sometimes managed to grab a sandwich or something else from someone else's table in the many cafes she had spent her time in. Lily didn't like to see it as "Stealing" since the tables she took the food from usually didn't have anyone around them. Basically Lily waited for people to leave their table for a bit so she could take it, her excuse was that they abandoned their food so why wouldn't she take it?

Even though she couldn't buy anything, Lily still took a look at the menu which mainly had soup and drinks in it.

"No Col!" Blue said, a bit too loud. Argh... He thought. With the girl's comment, there was actually no choice in him but to give some col to the girl. He had plenty form the amount he'd earned from his shop. I remember when I didn't have any Col... But I was able to earn quite a bit of Col in short amount of time. Were his thoughts when he started a conversation with himself in that deep mind of his. "Don't worry about it." Blue said as he finally snapped back to his real self. "I'll pay for you.... I'm inviting you out in the first place." He waited for Lily to finish looking through the list of everything available so he would be able to call the waitress over and tell her what he needed. Blue yawned, finally feeling a little tired from the night. Tomorrow, I'll go out killing boars. He thought as he rested his chin against his palm once more.

Lily nodded as the man said "No col" quite loud as if he wasn't happy to hear that. She wasn't ashamed of not having any col because she definitely wasn't the only one that had spent their time in Inns and alleys. Lily hadn't tried to get any col yet, she hadn't even been outside of the safe zone or done a quest simply because she felt like she was too weak.

Luckily the man told her he'd pay for her after a bit which made a slight smile appear on her face. "Thank you." she quickly looked through the menu and put it down as she found something that she liked and wasn't too pricey. Blue had invited her for a cup of coffee but a cup of coffee had a bigger price tag than hot chocolate so she went for that. "I'd like some hot chocolate please"  Lily said, looking at Blue. Lily hadn't had hot chocolate since she had been in the game so she was quite excited to taste it again. The performer loved absolutely anything that had chocolate in it, and hot chocolate wasn't a exception.

Lily noticed the man yawn, which somehow made her let out a yawn too out of nowhere but she quickly covered her mouth to be polite. Lily wasn't really tired but was kind of looking forward to sleep.

Indeed. It was quite late and when the two had gotten their orders. Blue tried his hardest in order to prevent himself from drowsing off to sleep as he was affected by the night sky above. The mood was extremely calm and he wasn't exactly used to the calmness that he was experience. Blue took a sip of the soda that he'd ordered and let out a sigh in satisfaction. The caffeine doe. He thought with a half-grin, half-smirk. Then, deciding there would be no need for conversation, Blue stared out at the window, hoping he could stay awake until the two were done drinking their beverages. With another sigh, Blue leaned back against his chair and watched as the moon slowly rotated among the stars. The day is coming soon. He realized.
