[OP-F1] stand, walk, run

Recommended Posts

(OOC: This topic is set between the start of the SAO game and the announcement that it is a death game.)

Finally, today was the day, the start of the SAO game, it took some effort to buy the game and the calibration was even worse. I needed both, the help of my mother and my sister, to successfully calibrate the nerve gear. I hated my disability. Now, however I won't think about it if it really was true what was said about the nerve gear then I would be able to walk in a virtual world. My injury and the loss of the ability to move my legs properly crushed me. But now there was hope to get a bit of the feeling I felt before the accident, when I was running and jumping through the town, back. Praying that it would work I climbed from my wheelchair onto my bed and put the nerve gear on. I took some slow breaths....

Ever was white and then some buttons indicated that everything worked properly. Then I had to wait for a short time before I was standing in a city. I as not what I have expected. It was incredible and unbelievable. Everything looked so realistic, yo could mistake it for the real world. The second thing I noticed was that I was standing. I wasn't able to stand, for some moths now, and as soon I thought about it I had some difficulties to hold my balance. I lurched to a house wall and lent against it. This was too good to be true.

Swift watched as her reflection in the mirror she was holding became a reflection of her actual self in the real world. After she looked herself in the face, she looked over her shoulder and scanned the town from left to right. Everyone seemed to look like themselves now. What was this world? Everything was only white for a moment, until the everyone had changed. She saw as one player walked towards a wall and began to lean against it. She wasn't sure what he was up to, but she walked over to him.

"Ex-excuse me? Are you alright? Name's Swift." she stuck her hand out in a fashion for a handshake.

Suddenly a female player approached me. Beside I had some difficulties with standing a was basically perfectly fine. â€Yes I am fine thanks. Just have to get used to the world. I' am Shen, pleased to meet you†I extended my hand to shake hers. Then I slowly tried to stand without the support of the wall. It worked a little better already. â€Beauty isn't it? It looks nearly like the real world.†I couldn't think of anything else to say and hoped that I could prevent her from questioning why I wasn't able to stand properly, didn't want to answer them right now. //This would only get me on the bad side of the others. They would then call me billingsgate and I would like to prevent that.// I thought pessimistically.

His grip was firm, but still gentle. "It's pretty miraculous. So... where you in the beta test?" She stood there with nearly nothing but a mere steel sword and some clothing. It didn't even match her style of dress.

What the hell was going on? This wasn't what Sam had signed up for. Looking down into the mirror he confirmed what he had saw before, and it was true. In the mirror it was himself - not his in game character, but his real life self. Looking around he noticed everyone else looked different too, they looked far more real than the characters usually were. What was going on here? Was it supposed to be like this, and he just didn't know? He figured it would be best if he asked someone else. He spotted two people nearby, who seemed to be pretty friendly with eachother. Walking up to them, he spoke, "Hey, uh, do you know if this real life stuff was supposed to happen? Because, uh, I don't really like this..."

Haine was childishly skipping all about Aincrad. The view was so pretty! So many people, shops, just what could go wrong? This place was a dream for the bluenette. A miracle! Just like what she always dreamt about. Kayaba Akihiko sure was a genius indeed.

The golden eyed girl was pacing and accidently ran into a lady. (Swift) "G-Gomene!" she squeaked in apology. Uh-oh...

"Oh god no, please don't tell me I'm lost...." I muttered to myself, as I walked nervously, playing with the rim of my hood. I caught sight of a group of players and pondered if I should ask them. With no other choice, I went up to the group and asked, "D-Do you know the n-next town from here? I'm a bit lost so..."I said nervously, fiddling with my fingers.

Looking around, he saw another two people join in the conversation, asking their own questions. It was obvious his probably wasn't going to be answered anytime soon, but he still needed to get some information. Both of them were lost and to be honest, so was he, so finding out where to go next wouldn't be too bad. That is, if they knew where to go. He brushed his hair out of his face and then crossed his arms, listening in on the conversation.

I shook my head. â€No I wasn't in the beta. But now I wish I had been. You?†I even had tried to get beta access but you had to be extremely lucky to get it. But it didn’t play a role anymore. Now we were all in the game and could enjoy it. Especially me even though I wasn't very talented in RPGs I preferred doing free running instead of playing games. â€Did you play an RPG before?†maybe she could give me some information which used to be common knowledge in the RPG-community and could get important in this game.

Soon another player joined us. (Monochromatic) â€I don't know But maybe we will know the reason soon. Hope so.â€

Suddenly a new female player (Haine) nearly ran into us. She seemed as lost as I felt but she could walk. â€Sorry but I feel lost myselfâ€

Obviously one of the players (Haine) wanted to go exploring now. On one hand this wasn't such a bad idea, on the other I wasn't sure if I was able to walk. Further we haven't even introduced to each other. â€Uhhhh, well sounds like an idea. I am Shen by the way pleasure to meet you all.†I looked at the others. I tried to make a few steps, I had my difficulties. â€Did you have problems with moving around at first too?†I asked casually but I knew the answer already.

Sam decided to pipe up and help the other player - who had just been identified as Shen. "Yeah, I uh, guess I had a little trouble. You get used to it, though." He scratched the back of his head nervously. "O-Oh, right, I'm Monochromatic, by the way. But, you can call me Mono for short." His voice trailed off, weak and nervous. God damn, why couldn't he get over this fear of people?

I had to smile. It was nice to meet someone as optimistic and 'full of joy' as Haine. It was giving him a nice mood instead of his usual pessimistic. â€Well I think most will be a little lost. For me it is the first time playing a VRMMORPG. I hope we will figure out everything we need to know soon.†I nodded to Mono. To be honest I wasn't able to fully concentrate on the conversation, because I still was trying to cope with the fact that I was able to stand and walk again. Maybe soon I would be able to run and jump again in this world.
