Emerath watched his brother miss, but took the boar's dodge as the perfect opportunity to run up and take it down while it was focused on his brother. Emerath had decided he would try the kick attack again, and this time as he ran up to the boar his foot began to glow with the power of a Sword Art. The boar turned to face him just in time to receive a double crescent kick directly to the face. The boar squealed in pain as he reeled, two huge red marks fading on either side of its face as the HP bar of the boar drained dramatically until there was only a small bit of red dangling at the end.

Emerath and Endilix vs. Boar 1

  • ID: 32021
  • BD: 2 (Critical Failure) -2 EP
  • MD: 8 (Success)
  • Hate Generated: +1

The boar seemed pretty angry at this point, which was understandable considering Emerath had just taken out the vast majority of its health using some rather well placed kicks. Endilix had to give his brother credit for that one. It was a solid hit. The boar wouldn't let it go unanswered however, as it charged forward and rammed Emerath in the chest. Endilix, not one to take an attack on his brother lightly, shouted and ran for the boar, his hammer on an upward swing. It came up and whiffed entirely past the boar as it did a bit of a weak side tumble. Him and the boar both grunted at each other, the boar eyeing the brothers with its beady little eyes.

Combat Results:

  • Endilix: 12/12
    • Energy Regen +1
    • EP: 0/3 -> 1/3 -> 0/3
  • Emerath: 20/20 -> 17/20

    • Sword Art Activated: Flash Blow 1x1 - 2 Base x 1 SA = 2 Total DMG -1 EP

Emerath had attempted to dodge the hit from the boar, but it had reacted faster to his kicks than he thought it would have, and Emerath had a nice fading red mark on his chest from the strike. It only moved his health bar marginally, which was fine. Emerath watched his brother attempt to protect him, but the boar was just too quick. But Endilix served once again as a great distraction as Emerath's fist began to glow and he flashed forward with a burst of quickness, striking the boar firmly in the snout. It was enough, as the boar gave a loud squeal and then exploded into a shower of pixels as its health bar drained the remainder of the way.

Combat Results:

  • Endilix: 12/12
  • Emerath: 17/20

Endilix gave a sigh as he watched his brother score the killing blow on the boar. He felt utterly useless by that battle and as he put his hammer away for the moment he also felt a bit jealous. He saw the loot window pop up for Emerath and he fully expected Emerath to have gotten all sorts of good loot. It was his luck, after all. Of the brothers he was always the luckier one. But, finally Endilix walked over and gave his brother a firm pat on the back and said, "Good job. I suppose you earned that one. I wish I had done more to help though. I thought I was supposed to be tanking? The boar actually hit you." Endilix hadn't actually thought of that initially, though as he thought about it, he supposed it was because Emerath was the one actually doing damage.

Emerath smiled as his brother congratulated him on succeeding the combat. But he frowned a bit as the congratulations turned into a bit of a self loathing and Emerath turned to his brother, "Oh come now. You did great! Honestly, if you weren't here with me that wouldn't have gone nearly as well. The boar was definitely very focused on you, and that's what a good tank does. If not for that I wouldn't have been able to do nearly as much damage." And then Emerath pointed to his regenerating health bar, "And that little hit? Psh, it was nothing. The important thing is we succeeded. At the end of the day, all that matters is we both stay alive." Emerath gave his brother a smile and then asked, "So what's next?"

Endilix put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "I think it's time we take a break. I think I need to calm my nerves and maybe catch a drink with my brother. Let's celebrate the fact that we're alive," he said, as he pointed back to the hammer with his city. "You can't tell me that you wouldn't go for a nice tea right about now after stomping that boar. C'mon, my treat. You earned it." And with that, Endilix hefted his hammer onto his shoulder, and tried not to think about the fact that his brother had so rightly outclassed him today. But that was okay. Endilix would get better. He would get stronger. He had to. For both of their sakes.

Emerath watched his brother begin to saunter off towards the city and shook his head. It's not like him to celebrate my victory. The day just keeps getting stranger and stranger. For a moment, Emerath considered the fact that his brother might actually be giving Emerath the respect he had always asked for from Endilix. The sad part was that it took a solid trouncing in a video game for him to admit that maybe Emerath wasn't just a useless little squalling child.

Emerath shrugged that off though. He liked the idea of drinking tea that someone else paid for for once. Usually Endilix always rode on Emerath's tab at the bar. Maybe SAO was good for the brothers in its own, dangerous sort of way. Emerath could accept that. As Emerath got lost in thought, his brother kept getting farther and farther away, finally prompting a "Hey, wait up!" as Emerath ran to catch up.
