[PP-F4] Reminiscences - COMPLETE!!

OOC: We need to wrap this one up quick so I can be Grandmastered for the Boss Fight. The dragon story would have been a good one too. :) Perhaps another such get together after Opal's training... or when Opal's ready to Grandmaster the Katana. :)

“So, you want to hear the story with the zombies,” Mack said in a low tone, swirling what remained of the contents in his mead glass before tossing off the rest of the drink as he completely ignored Opal’s off-color comment about Piera and himself. The raven-haired woman was clearly inebriated and, once he finished this story, he would ask Shirosu to make sure that Opal found her way home that way the curvaceous alchemist didn’t find her way into his bed yet again. When they were both drunk, it was forgivable, when only one of them was drunk then it was taking advantage of another person in a compromising situation which was quite against the red-headed man’s moral code. No matter how much he might want to enjoy the inevitable delights that the woman had to offer in an environment where he had no need to worry about how many other people might have shared in those delights. Shooting a sharp eyed glance in Shirosu’s direction, Mack made the slightest of nods to first Opal and then Shirosu and then the alcohol in the room, trusting that the silver-haired woman would get the message and help him politely, but firmly, cut off Opal from imbibing any more alcohol.

“The day in question began like any other. I found myself in Delilah Village on the third floor,” Mack began, speaking in a somewhat more commanding tone than was necessary and hoping that would be enough to bring Opal into line for a few minutes while he related the story. “I’d heard of a quest to retrieve an amulet and so I set off to find the Tomb of King Minos and the minotaurs that served as its guardians. At the time, I was just about the right level I should have been at for the quest. Maybe a tick higher, but not so much that the retrieval of the trinket wouldn’t still represent a challenge,” Mack continued, pulling up his menu and producing a pewter tankard which he slid across the table to Shirosu. “The Stout on the end, if you please Shirosu,” he said, nodding to the woman before continuing the story.

“I made it through the Forest of the Wavering Mist to the site of the tomb with no problems. The tomb itself was either granite or marble, I don’t really know how to tell those kinds of stone apart, and it was flanked by a pair of enormous axe wielding minotaurs. Even bigger than me and they barred my entrance to the tomb, but weren’t violent,” Mack said, catching the mug of foaming beer as it was slid back across the table to him, taking a pull from the mug before continuing.

“So, I wasn’t going to walk all the way out there for nothing. I slammed Guillotine into the first guardian and, even though they had health bars that exceeded half of my own, I still managed to kill them both in just five swings of my mighty axe. Critical hits left and right,” Mack said, pausing again to take another long draught from the mug in front of him. “Once the guardians had been dispatched, I descended into the tomb itself. There was nothing in there save for some stone columns and a massive sarcophagus in the middle of the room. After checking everything out, and finding no traps or loot, I headed over to the sarcophagus thinking that the amulet I was after was inside. So I shove open the lid of the sarcophagus, it must have weighed more than all three of my lovely dinner companions put together and I found,” Mack continued, getting into the story as he took another pull from the beer mug and declining to mention that the amulet in question was the one that he had given to Opal not so long ago to curb her flirtatiousness.

“The zombified corpse of a long dead Minosian monarch,” Mack said, finally explaining what he had found. “He was, how shall I put this politely, less than pleased to see me if the hateful ruby glow of his eyes was any indicator. As he started to get out of the sarcophagus, his health bar every bit the equal of my own, I slammed Guillotine into his head and sent his crown flying across the room. That didn’t make him any happier,” Mack continued, taking another pull from the mug. “Also, as it turns out, Kayaba gave some of the zombies in the game a lightning touch ability. So, I didn’t think too much about the zombified king until I was rocketing backwards across his tomb after he zapped me with damn near fifty kajillion volts.”

“So, I picked myself up and used some… uh… undignified language best left unrepeated in the presence of ladies,” Mack said, looking a bit sheepish as he drank some more from his mug. “And we two titans proceeded to batter one another stupid. Sometimes I had the upper hand, sometimes the zombie lord did. In the end, I killed him, obviously, since I’m here now to talk about it.”

“Once he was dead, I retrieved the amulet from his coffin and turn to leave. Sure enough, the zombie king’s ghost had arisen. So, rather than calling Doctors Venkman, Stantz, and Spangler, I proceeded to go ten rounds with the ghost and I vanquished it as well.” Mack shrugged his broad shoulders.

“So, here I sit tonight to relate the tale. Speaking of tail,” Mack said, turning his attention to Opal who appeared to be barely upright. “Shirosu, would you please be so kind as to get Opal back to her own rooms please,” the Grandmaster of the Crimson Blades asked. “It’s one thing for us all to wind up sharing a bed when we’re stone cold drunk, well other than you since you were in the chair,” he continued with a slight smirk.

“However, it’s quite another thing entirely for such to happen when only one of us has had a bit too much,” the red-headed man said in a dry tone. “While I will not take full responsibility for what happened the night of Beoreson’s party, as we all had entirely too much to drink, I will not knowingly take advantage of a woman in such a state when I am still sober enough to know better.”

Shirosu listened through Mack's story with the most devoted attention, only breaking it to fill Macks mug or gently push Opal away from another inhibiting drink, knowing that the women was probably way past her limit. She found the story quite fascinating to say the least, zombies were intriguing to her, and dead royalty was even cooler in her books. in the end Mack asked her to escort Opal to her own room and she gave Mack an impish smile, smart man, seem valant in sending off a women before an accident could happen, and in turn leaving him alone with a woman she was really sure the man favored,"Will do boss" she said slinging the impaired Opal's arm over her shoulder and with a kind smile to the lady said,"Lets go find your room k? there will be a nice warm, solitary bed for you there yes?" she lead Opal away with a quick glance over her shoulder and a small wink before calling"Gin, come" the fox perked up and hoped onto her shoulder as she exited the room to find Opals. With a smile she wondered when the three of them would end up doing something like this again, it was always quite the adventure.

Piera choked on what she was swallowing at the woman's suggestive words to Mack. "O-Opal!" The brunette protested, her ears bright red, though she was struggling not to laugh as well, her friend's inebriation and the entirely awkward situation being rather funny to her. Perhaps it was the minor amount of alcohol she herself had consumed. Though when the raven haired beauty mentioned an ex with a zombie fetish, she raised an eyebrow, wondering exactly how that night went. Still watching Opal for worry she do anything too out there and needed to be stopped, the shorter alchemist's eyes dilated as she watched the woman suck cheesy sauce from her finger in a highly suggestive way. Swallowing thickly, Piera tried to clear her throat and look away, shifting in her seat as she scooted the remnants of her meal around on the plate with her fork and trying not to let her thoughts run away with her.

Thankfully Mack then began to tell his story and her gaze was drawn up to the red haired man as he began. He was a fair story teller and she was interested in the fact that the quest apparently took place on her home floor. Perhaps she could try and complete it when she was high enough level. With a little help. Eventually her food and drink were completely forgotten, leaning her elbows on the table as she stared with rapt interest at the guild leader as he went on in detail. She wondered who the Doctors that he had named were but decided not to interrupt. The description of the battle with the King's ghost left her wanting for more, but Mack then directed his focus on Opal, asking Shirosu to help the inebriated woman to her room and guessing that she was staying at the inn here tonight. Or perhaps Shirosu simply knows where her guildmate lived. His comments about Beoreson's party caused her to sigh and stand as well, glad that she hadn't drank too much of the mead either. Though she was tempted to take some home.

Scooting her chair back as the white haired girl collected her guildmate, the brunette raised a hand. "Take care Opal. Later Shiro." It had been nice to spend some time with the girls and she wondered if she should invite them out for some just 'girl time' some day soon. Perhaps everything got settled after the boss fight. Speaking of which... After the girls had left, Piera looked over at Mack and realized that they were alone now. Biting her lip, she errantly began to gather the dirty dishes, piling them on top of each other and setting the empty mugs next to them while she worked up some courage. "Mack...there's-" She pursed her lips for a moment as she tried to think of the words before simply opening her menu and sending him an already approved trade transaction holding a Teleport Crystal. "I want you to have this. For the boss fight. I didn't give it to you earlier with the other stuff because you didn't order this. But I want you to have it anyway. No charge. Just...don't tell anyone where you got it."

Opal clung to Shirosu's shoulder as she was started to get escorted, she waved defiantly, "Wait! Wait!...ok...we can go now..." Opal had continued to take funny steps one crossing over the other as she was perched up on Shirosu's shoulder, a thin arm hanging off her as they moved through the halls of the inn, "My room...is the one....that's...where...you are in it, Girly..." Opal said in a broken phrases. She looked down at the woman's feet as they were walking through the halls, "Holy [censored]...I have four [censored] feet!!!" Opal exclaimed and then looked over to Shirosu in an almost bewildered look, "Oooh....I have an extra head too..." The raven haired woman was only joking she knew the person to her left, "Shorosusiru! Stop!" The woman halted and the raven haired woman twirled herself off the woman's shoulder and fell against the back of the door, her eyes drooping down lowly while slowly gathering herself against the door.

"Have you ever been with another woman before?" Opal bit her lower lip and moved towards the silver haired maiden, she took a single lock of her hair and smelled the fragrance from it as she lifted it to her nose, "Mmmm...I wonder what you taste...like...Hahahaha...." Opal leered at the woman for a moment longer before waved her her hand, "Mmm...no hanky panky tonight, babe...I gotta get ready...for...." Opal gave a dead eye stare at the wall, "...something..." she twisted the doorknob and pouted lightly trying to get it to open correctly, "Bye bye baby doll..." Opened the door and closed it. The last thing Shirosu could probably hear was a loud thud and Opal had face planted into her bed.

OOC: Piera, not sure if you want to continue this or not.

Mack watched as Shirosu escorted Opal from the room. The other alchemist had clearly had plenty to drink and was having a good time. Somehow, Mack wasn't overly surprised. Once he and Piera were alone he considered the dark haired woman as she began to nervously gather up dishes. What she could have possibly had to be nervous about, Mack wasn't sure. After all, neither of them had imbibed nearly enough alcohol to need to worry about winding up in bed together under anything less than mutually agreeable circumstances. Wondering what it was that she could possibly have to give to him, since he had ordered everything he needed for the Boss Raid, and paid for it with a sack full of crafting materials, Mack watched through storm grey eyes as she extracted a blue crystal from her inventory and held it out to him. A teleport crystal, the red-headed man had never even seen one before, much less thought of purchasing one.

"You don't have to do that, I know these things cost a pretty penny," he said in a low tone, rising from his seat and crossing to the alchemist as she clutched the crystal. "You know I'll always return to you and besides, I gathered from the amulet how much you miss your family," he continued in a low, gentle tone as he scooped the woman into his arms. "If others won't act to work towards allowing you to return to them," he said, diplomatically not mentioning Lee's name, "Then it falls to me to do so for you. Ever has it fallen to the few to make sacrifices and take risks on behalf of the many," he concluded, gazing down at Piera with soft grey eyes and trying to make it apparent to her that he wanted to kiss her, but would only do so if she initiated such action first.

Piera snorted and gave a wry smile, nodding in agreement with his statement. "They're a b**** to craft too. That's why they're so expensive." She still waited for him to accept the trade but frowned slightly at his specific statement of how he would always return to her. Not return to the guild, to his friends, Opal, or even just return alive period. Blinking in extreme surprise as he took her into his arms, she awkwardly pressed her hands against his chest to gently push away, the teleport crystal in one of them. His words were also distracting, causing her to look up at him in confusion. "W-What? No, Mack...ugh." She sighed, stepping away. "I don't expect anything from you other than to just keep yourself alive. You're my friend, I don't want anything happening to you. So don't take it upon yourself to do some sort of 'hero's mission'. It doesn't matter anyways. I wouldn't get to see them even if I wasn't stuck in here. But if I did want to get out of here so badly, I'd be out there on the frontlines with you. I'm just......" The brunette struggled with the words, an explanation before she sighed, "Not ready." The alchemist held out the blue crystal once again. "I'd rather this go to you than some other player I've never even met."

And, just like that, the moment was gone. She wasn't ready yet, and perhaps she never would be. The Grandmaster of the Crimson Blades repressed a sigh as he released Piera so she could step away, plucking the teleport crystal from her hand at the same time and adding it to his inventory. Still, Rome wasn't built in a day, and Mack had no problem whatsoever with waging the long campaign to convince the alchemist to abandon Lee. "I shall do what I must to make you happy," the red-headed man said, perhaps a bit briskly. "Thank you for the crystal, I'll be sure it's put to good use." Inclining his head slightly, he backed from the room.
