[SP-F1] Solo training part 2. [COMPLETE]

"It was time to train again, last time I had trained on the first floor and I was only level 1, now that im level 4 it should be even easier...right?" I walked out of town and towards the plains where the boars were. Also since this new update kayaba had put onto us I had yet to try the sword arts, so itd be interesting to do that as well as trying to find some mats since im becoming a blacksmith. "Ahhh for once I have a plan for the day instead of wining it with my expressionless face and boring nature....life." I walked out of the walls surrounding town and closed in on the first boar I saw, "no reason to wait" I charged at the boar and tried one of the new sword arts.

I charged the boar and used the first sword art on the list...slant, sadly because I had never even attempted to use it I missed horribly, thankfully because of my experience in actually fighting I was able to recover quick enough to dodge an incoming boar tusk and throw it aside, it charged again but I easily jumped over its head and laughed as I hit the ground landing on my feet, the boar behind me with its red eyes glaring back, filled with more hatred than before.

The boar turn and charged as usual, this time I decided I was going to use my last unlocked art, but why not mess with a little bit. I wated until  the boar got close before jumping out of the way and laughing as it passed. I was an emotionless guy...but this was fun. The boar charged again and once again I dodged it but this I smacked its behind with my sword just to have fun with it. The next time it charged me however right before it hit me I initiated the art. snake bite. I hit the boar directly and it immediately shattered into polygons and I smirked before grabbing my one mat and walking to a nearby tree.

The boar had been fairly close to a line of trees so I walked over to the tree and began searching for a decent want to hack away at so I could collect materials for smithing. I found a decent tree and whacked at it, and whacked at it, and whacked at it. I stood at the tree and kept hitting it hoping at some point it would fall. I kept saying to myself "one more time" but that one time never came and I continued hitting it. After about 20 minutes of continuously whacking the tree I gave up..cursed at it, and walked away to another tree that I hoped would fall so I could gain a material. I really wanted to begin stocking up on them as so that when I opened my shop I would have an abundance for any customers I may get, although I know sadly service will be slow at first, but we will see.

I walked over to the nearest tree and looked at it, it looked even flimsier than the last "should be easy" I think before I whack it once. It instantly breaks and falls over with a soft crash. I cheer before looking forward and realizing I didn't actually gain anything from it, I sighed and looked down, I pouted for a minute as I looked down before a thought came in. This is for money. The thought immediately excited me, but as I looked at my energy I realized that I could kill another boar, and so far that was much more reliable. I found a boar near me and charged it, I didn't fool around with this one like the last and used the same art as last time, I put a square in the boars face before it dispersed into blue polygons. Like a knife through butter. I picked up my mat and continued with my day.

I walked over to another tree and began whacking it, I stood there and hit the tree that was bigger than the rest, after about 5 minutes of me hitting the tree it fell down, I didn't cheer this time as I had learned last time that may not be a good thing, and once again I got nothing. "i wonder if its just trees are hard or what" I wondered. But I was determined to at least succeed once before giving up to at least confirm or deny the possibility of it, and so I went over to the tree next to, which was even bigger. maybe the size matters. I think as I begin to hit it.

I whack the tree and after about 7 minutes, a little longer than the last it crashes down. I close my eyes for a second and take a deep breathe in, and then out. I open my eyes. I then stab my sword in the ground. THANK GOD A MAT *sigh* I sit down and burry my head in my hands and sit to think about some thing, I hadn't done this in a while since the game started. Lily had occupied a lot of my time since we met, and not that I didn't like it but I needed me time, and that's why I came out to hunt, itd been a while since I had and I liked it. But I also need materials so aside from just having fun it helped my future in this game in a lot of way. But these stupid trees kept ruining that fun, I sighed as I got up and walked to another tree.

I began whacking at the tree I walked to. I stood there and whacked for a good 10 minutes before I heard a thunk.. and the tree fell. but not because of me, but because of some greedy a** boar. the boar quickly recovered and tried to bash me with its tusk, I quickly jumped back and then lunged forward and used the art I have begun to love oh so much, snake bite. I put a square into the side of the boars face and it quickly dispersed into blue polygons. "Jeez kayaba" I think as I pick up the dropped mat "these sword arts you added sure make killing these easy mobs a hell of a lot easier, thank you master." I walk over to another tree where I know I will once again begin whacking. And most likely to no avail as I will get no mat when it falls, but we shall see.

1/4 ENE (next posts will be only mats and I messed up when I did this, and editing is a pain so...im putting this)

I walk up to the tree and begin whacking at it like all the other before, it comes down fairly quickly and I sadly can tell there is no mat. I look around me, I wondered "maybe its just tress, maybe they aren't easy to get mats from" And so I look around for something else that could give materials of some sort. I sadly cant find anything else around, i see trees, and then just grass. "Maybe i could try digging but i don't know how my luck on that would be either, and so i guess ill stick with trees and see how it keeps going, maybe ill change later"

I walk over to another fairly large tree and begin whacking at it. Ya know it could also be that im just whacking a tree with a sword...may not be the best way to harvest wood. But i continue whacking it and after about 15 minutes of continuous whacking. The tree falls, im not surprised and so i walk over to another tree. Okay, so kayaba....you make all these professions and sword skills and fishing and cooking. But not like woodcutting or harvesting skill of any sort, sometimes i wonder what went through your head sometimes. Like you think of fishing and cooking but not woodcutting or farming or something.

I walked over to yet another tree and began whacking it. After about 15 minutes the tree fell over and I wished upon a star for a material. Nothing. "alright screw this ima go kill me some mobs". and with that angry statement I turned on my heel in a 180 degree motion and walked away from the tree line. These stupid trees were really ticking me off, so ima kill some boars and dig for materials instead of whacking these stupid trees.

I ran over to a group of 4 boars and tried to surprise them, sadly they heard me and all turned at the same time and head-butted me. I flew across the field and took some damage. As the boars were running towards me I checked a peak at my sword arts and found my only aoe one, rage spike. I ran at the boars and met their charge unleashing my sword art, direct hit, I slashed all of them and they all immediately became polygons. It was nice finally getting the feeling of succession again, especially against 4 at once. I picked up the mats they dropped (4) and began to dig in the ground.

...and began to dig in the ground. I dug with my hands, bare hands. And kept at it for a good 20 minutes. Lucky for me the dirt was rather soft and easy to scoop up even with your hands, and in 20 minutes I had a nice hole going. I kept digging and at the 25 minute mark I scooped up a solid, as soon as I looked at my hand a screen popped up showing MATERIAL RECIEVED. A big smiled grew on my face, first try and I get a material, Clearly digging was the way to go. I filled in my hole with the dirt I dug up which took a good 5 minutes before I got up and began walking around looking for a new spot.

After about 10 minutes I stopped in a random spot. I got on my knees and began digging just like last time, However this time only 15 minutes in when I had a much smaller pile than last time did I get a message. MATERIAL RECIEVED. I cheered inwardly, it was great to finally be getting some materials through gathering, not having to slay mobs, as fun as that was, it was rather exhausting so it was nice to get a break. And digging was clearly much better than whacking a tree.

I got up from my thoughts and walked over to yet another spot with some pretty soft dirt. I got down to my knees and tried to begin digging just like before, but as I scrapped the grass, it felt like concrete. I tried again and got the same result, so I took a step to the right and tried again concrete, weird. First the dirt seems really easy to dig, and then all of a sudden I can’t even scrape up the top layer of grass. *sigh* I give up as I clearly wasn't going to be getting anywhere close to finding a material in this spot. It was annoying how the dirt was like that, totally illogical.

I was walking looking for another spot to dig, and after a while finally found a spot suitable. After the last time with the hard dirt I was checking with my foot before digging, and I did I found a lot of other spots like the last one, sadly. But this one was really soft so I got on my knees and began digging. I dug for 30 minutes and found nothing, so I finally decided to give up. It sucked wasting that much time, but I really wanted as many materials as I could get so it was worth it in the end.

After the last fail I once again was tired of gathering for mats, and my energy had regened completely so as I got up, and threw the dirt back in I walked around to find a group of mobs. After about 20 minutes of walking around I finally found a group of 4 boars like I wanted. I whistled to the boars so they could get closer and charge me. They did just that like usual and I released my new love, rage spike, my aoe sword art that when it hit the boars, obliterated them into polygons. I picked up my 4 materials and went back to walking around looking for a spot to dig.

After about only 5 minutes of walking I found a suitable spot. I laughed as usually I walked for at least 20 minutes before I ever found what I wanted, but this time it was a rather short walk. I got to my knees and began digging. Just like the walk to get to the post, the digging time was short before I found a material. I cheered inside as it was always nice to find a material without having to kill for it. But sometime, the patience it required was just too much, and I had to go back to killing before I went insane. I threw the dirt back into the small hole and stood up, ready to find another spot.

I found a spot after about 15 minutes near a tree line and began digging. It was harder dirt than usual but I kept digging anyway. After about 30 minutes of digging slowly, just as I was about to give up my hand scratched something and I got the message MATERIAL RECIEVED. it was nice as I would have been rather disappointed if I wasted another 30 minutes, so I got up happily, but I wanted to kill some mobs, my luck was going pretty well, why not try it on some loot drops from mobs.

*sigh* I was bored once again, time to go kill a mob. Ahh mobs...The new fun thing to do in town, its like that fad that comes around for a week or so before it goes away. But unlike those games I cant as simply just leave when I get bored, but there was no way I was ever going to get bored of killing the mobs. It was so new.... unusual... and exciting. The adrenaline rush from the fights was insane and so worth it. Killing mobs would easily be the highlight of my life.

Sword art: Rage spike

luckily this time, there was a close group of 4 boars. I whistled to them so the would agro on me like I wanted. They charged as four, but they were a bit smarter than the last ones and split a little. As they closed in I jumped up to evade them, I wouldn't have been able to hit all 4 with my art if I tried so I needed to wait. The next time they weren't as smart and charged just as I wanted, they got close and to any bystander, it would have just appeared as a flash of light and then a load of polygons appearing in the sky. I smiled as I picked up the 4 materials. I the n proceeded to walk to a new spot to be start digging once again and try to find another mat.
