Hearing Azide's question, the blonde goes through her inventory, she didn't pay attention when the 'Congratulation!' message appeared alongside with the loot. "Banner of support" she mutters as she reads the item name and description. "Yeah this is it, pretty powerful heal if you ask me." she continued, closing the inventory window for now. Seeing how the rest were adamant to correct her about one particular statement, she simply sighed and shrug her shoulders. Ultimately it was Jomei's decission and whatever it would be she would agree with it.

They made their way towards Vulcan, and straight towards the Mysterious Broker that gave them the quest. He was easily located as he was literally in the same place they left him, close to the outskirts of the city. "Hey, old man! I got your item.Reward time!" said Ariel in a happy tone as they closed in, waving at the guy. In return the man showed a distrustful face towards them and thinking that they come here to kill him and steal all his belongings, he launched at the cheerful blonde. "You won't get to me that easily!" he roared. The blonde was caught off guard by the man's attack and Barely managed to make a X stance in front of her with her vambraces, still receiving damage but successfully mitigating about half it. 'What is wromg with you!?" she wanted to ask, but found herself paralyzed as the according mark appeared under her HP bar that entered the orange area, almost half of its length.

Takao grimaced as his gaze rose skyward to glance at the darkening colours. Very few floors could be perceived as pleasant in the nighttime, and the ninth was definitely toward the bottom of that list. He'd heard Ssendom mention some kind of village populated entirely by player killers who didn't seem too shaken by their less than virtuous title, and he didn't much care to find out how true his words were. The thoughts were shaken from his head in an attempt to prevent an anxious and paranoia-filled journey back to the safety of Vulcan.

Ariel headed straight to the Info Broker upon arriving back at Vulcan, and Takao went about occupying his attention by idly glancing around. Nothing about the floor was particularly pleasing to him. It was hot, the landscape wasn't especially interesting, and the idea that a gathering of murderers could be lurking about anywhere was the icing on the cake that was his anxiousness. Loud voices cut through the cloudiness of his mind, and the sounds of combat grabbed his attention near instantaneously. His hand rose to his sword and pulled it free of the scabbard in one swift motion. Without an ounce of forethought he pulled his arm back and poised himself in just the right way to activate the strongest sword art in his arsenal, 'Meteor Break'. Only after releasing control of his avatar to the system did he realize what exactly his target was. "W-wait... ****, player! Stop, stop stop stop!" Regardless of how hard his jaw clenched and many times he repeated the words in his head, the system was unresponsive to his demands and unwavering in its aim to land all eleven strikes upon the man. By the time it had concluded, eleven large wounds decorated his body. Takao watched silently as Ariel's assailant fell lifelessly to the ground before erupting into a shower of colourful pixels.

Did it make him naive? Had he been too blinded by dismissive optimism? Or perhaps he'd been too preoccupied with raking in another handful of skill points to have given the topic the proper consideration owed to it. True, it was easy to call things in hindsight, after the dust had already settled. But that didn't do anything to quiet the sentiments which hounded him now as he stared in silence at the man Takao. Incidents of this sort were not unknown- he himself had been made aware of several such reports prior to their departure, and multiple parties had indicated that they'd been attacked by their clients in fits of paranoia. He'd dismissed these as isolated cases and flukes- surely no one else would be willing to kill for the Banner of Support. And yet, here they were. And here he was not.

Takao hardly had the eyes of a killer, and the look on his face told it all. The empty verdant gaze which stared out from the backs of their sockets- it was the look of someone still capable of recognizing the significance of what he had done. This was a man who had never killed before, and he seemed more than a little lost where he stood.

Their ordeal had come to an end more bitter and tragic than he could have predicted; it seemed almost petty that he should feel this way, considering that he himself had been spared from the agonizing decision. He dipped his head for a moment, letting out the breath that he'd been holding in a drawn out sigh. Leveling his chin once more, he walked over to Takao and set a hand upon the young man's shoulder. He looked the brunet in the eye, but said nothing as ashes and soot settled around them like falling snow.
