[PP-F3] Mingling in the Maze <<Search for the Hoya>>> (Mack, Piera, Shirosu, Red_Rose, Freddy)

Recommended Posts

The sun was bright on the third floor, as always the Elves of Delilah Village were scurrying around in their normal fashion. The golden haired spear bearer had received word from his information broker that there was a quest item that could be obtained if he ventured into the Forest of Wavering Mist. Typically, the man was a bit of a solo player, but the broker also informed him that the treasure was guarded heavily by a strong field boss. "I should probably call in the cavalry." Lawfer stated as he began looking around the town for some possible partners. Shaking his head he lifted up his right hand and initiated his interface. Selecting Shirosu, Piera, Red Rose and Mack, he began writing.

"Well Hello Ladies.... And Mack...I heard about some treasure on the third floor, in the Forest of the Wavering Mist. Lets get this see if we can get this taken care of quick. I'll be waiting for everyone in Delilah Village... Probably talking to the NPC's because I have nothing better to do... But anyways, find me and we will crash this thing quick."

He wrote, then hit send. "This should be fun... Well for me and Mack at least. Gotta love that our guild is starting to get more women..." He trailed off as he caught eye of a beautiful elven NPC... "Man... If only they made a game where you could be an Elf or a Fairy... That would be awesome." Walking over to a nearby bench, he sat down and crossed his arms over his chest. "The waiting game begins!!!" He said loudly, trying to amuse himself. Looking to the sky once more he could see thousands of Dandelion petals flutter about.

Piera was just finishing up her crafting for the day when she received a message. This wasn't unusual as she had been getting a lot of messages in lately, either from special orders for the boss fights or friends wanting to go out and complete quests or just level grind. It was weird to think of herself as 'popular' as she had been anything but in the real world. But it was a nice feeling nonetheless. Still, the username on this particular message made her do a double take and she had to pause and think for a minute as to why it sounded familiar. "Oh!" She exclaimed as it hit her. Lawfer was the performer that she had met at Beoreson's party. ...She really hoped that he had left before they had 'cut loose'.

Re-reading the contents of the message she smiled and realized that this would work out perfectly for her. Cleaning up her work station, the brunette then sent a message to Lee and then turned her shop's sign to read, 'closed' before exiting it and locking the door behind her. The alchemist only had to walk down the short path that lead away from her shop to blink, surprised to have already find the person she was looking for so soon. "Hey Lawfer." She greeted casually, raising a hand to catch his attention with a small smile. "Good to see you again. How are you doing? Besides eager for treasure hunting apparently?"

“He is here to crush his enemies and see them driven before them, just as I am,” Mack rumbled in response to Piera’s question as he emerged from around a corner to make his own appearance. Since Piera was coming along he suspected that this probably wasn’t going to be an official Guild action, which was fine. Instead of the gold trimmed crimson cloak of the Blades today he was clad in his still relatively new crimson and white armor which was gleaming in the sun. “I’ve completed Hoya twice already, wasn’t all that difficult. But, I haven’t done it since the rebalance of the combat system.”

Today had been a lazy day for Red. She had not had anyone to visit or see as most were out preparing for the Boss raid. Even Takao had had some plans in preparation, and she would have felt bad disturbing them. It seemed that until this raid was over very few people would be free to just mess around. With that in mind she had retired to a rather drab spot on floor 6 to sit and watch the sky. The spot in particular had been a large rock to which she had once had a picnic, as well as met an unfortunate evening at the bite of nasty little lizard. Nearby, maybe 50 or 60 yards away, the hooded form of the Gemini walked aimlessly around, trying to find another victim to challenge. She had many times sat here warning players of the risks at hand, but few had listened to a little girl like her. And so she had sadly sat by and watched many players get beaten. Today though no one came by so the day was quite.

After about an hour or so a message appeared in her inbox, and she quickly popped it open, after seeing it was from Lawfer. He had been one of her guild members, and they had quested before, facing off against the mighty avalanche. With the help of Ariel they had dispatched the beast before anyone had gotten frostbite. Today though he had proposed some treasure hunting on floor 4. The Idea of course was great, and considering that Red had nothing else to do she lept to her feet. Nearby a familiar yellow and orange lizard had appeared. Its tiny beaded eyes, watched her for a moment before it assumed the same lazy sleep that it had every other time she had seen it. She hoped one day to tame the little beast but right now she wouldn't have the time. "Right. You watch the fort, and I'll see you in a while." She said happily before bouncing off the rock, back towards the town.

After she arrived in Delilah Village on floor 3 she immediately began searching out her friends. It wasn't long before she spotted Lawfer, and standing with him was Mack, her guild Leader and another girl whom she hadn't met before. Like the last quest she assumed that this girl was either here to escort them, or was here to finish the quest herself as well.

She approached the group eagerly. "Im so glad I caught you in time." She said with a smile coming to a rather abrupt stop in front of them. "So what do we have in store for us today?"

Shirosu ran through the town if beginnings in a panic, the little white fox on her shoulder bouncing prcariosy with her urgent stride. She had been napping and only when she had woke up had she noticed lawyers message, which was to go beat stuff up and she was really worried that she'd missed the meeting time. Upon air ing at the teleported she shouted the destination floor and skidding into the meeting place panted,"I'm not late am I?" She currently saw red, Mack , lasted and Piera. Gin squeaked in greeting to everyone from his perch

Freddy walked on the first floor by the shops. The sun was shining bright and it was quite boring out. Freddy then heard a ping. "Great who could it be now?" He thought. Freddy scrolled through his messages and found that it was someone that was actually in his guild. The person did not refer to him personally, but it did get sent to him a the same time. Freddy turned around and sped up his walking pace. Freddy then stopped in his tracks. His cloak. He equipped it fast and made sure the medallion with the dagger was secure on his neck. He stepped onto the teleporter and said, Delilah village. He immediately teleported into a city of elf like creatures. Or he guessed that's what they were.

Freddy looked around and actually ended up seeing Mack first. Freddy walked forward quietly and stood. He did not want to say something stupid and get rejected by the guildmates he did not even know. Freddy had seen many people. A white-haired girl, A golden haired guy, and many more. Like about two. Freddy stood quiet and waited to see if he should be there.

Cathching his eyes and ears first was the two-handed spear totting alchemist that had become a close friend to the guild. With a smile he said, "Hi Piera, your looking lovely as ever today." As he was going to reply to the woman's question, he was interrupted by the robust voice of his guild leader Mack. "Yeap, thats about it. I'm here to smash a monster, grab some treasure and hopefully flirt playfully with some of the lovely ladies of the guild." he said with a laugh. Lawfer had loved to flirt, most of it was harmless, especially with the women he had deemed his friends, it was always a highlight to his day. To him nothing compared to the smile of a beautiful woman especially if he was able to turn her mood. "Speak of the tiny little devils." Lawfer commented as Red had made her appearance. Followed closely by Shirosu, "As much as I love talking, I'm gonna spill the beans when everyone is here. I want everyone to be on the same page." He said with a slight smirk. The golden haired spear-bearer had been waiting on the last addition to the gang, the newcomer of the blades, Freddy. When he finally made his appearance he stayed silent. 'Odd' Lawfer thought to himself as he tried to get a reading on his teammate.

"Freddy, shut up... Your talking to much." Lawfer said trying to keep a straight face. "Just kidding buddy. Glad you could join us for our little shin dig." he continued as a smile erupted on his face. He was more overjoyed at the fact that the newcomer had the courage to come on a high level quest with the group. "OK, as I'm sure Mack already knows all this. But, I got some info from my info broker about a quest that yield some good SP and a unique pendant. So, we are heading into the Forest of Wavering Mists. We are going to have to make it past a maze of trees and then fight a high level Minotaur to obtain it. From what I heard there are actually two Minotaurs guarding it but if we fell one, we can avoid the other. But, seeing as how I'm a little bit crazy I personally want to take on both of them. You know for S's and G's. Most importantly, I want us to actually enjoy it and get even stronger as a team. So I decided that after we smash the monsters, whoever is sweetest to me throughout the quest gets the pendant." Lawfer paused for a moment to let the group take all the information in. "That includes you Mack... but in order for you to get it I need at least 3 hugs... No more... No less." the golden haired man laughed, then shook his head.

"Just kidding, if anyone wants the pendant just let me know. I dont really like jewelry... Oh... One more thing. I'm gonna give out the strategy for the battle once we get closer to the Field bosses. Let's stay safe, and any materials you pick up on the way you get to keep. Just dont wander off too far, I want us to stick to being in pairs if possible. Freddy, stick close to me or Mack if anything comes up. If you have any questions, let me know along the way." Lawfer finished as he directed the party to the edge of Delilah city, and towards the dandelions field. He was ready to get this thing going and get back to his studio. He had some tracks to lay down and record. "Oh and our Team name today is, Team Omega Squadron Supra Kai!" he said with a slight chuckle. "Lets go! Team Omega Squadron Supra Kai!!!!"

Piera raised an eyebrow at Lawfer's flirtatious greeting and passing it off as a personality quirk. "Thank you?" She wasn't used to receiving compliments and quickly moved on. Before Lawfer could answer her however, a familiar masculine rumbling voice responded and caused her to turn and see Mack coming around a nearby corner. Smiling in greeting, the brunette sighed at the blonde man's reply to his guild master, "Oh, is that all? Here I thought it was about getting some leveling done. Shame. Maybe I should leave then." She was teasing of course, but her mischievousness dimmed in favor of curiosity as the guild leader declared that he had already completed the quest they were embarking on twice before, saying that it wasn't hard. "Well haven't we been a busy bee."

Before she could remark further on the subject, a blonde girl wearing a white and red skirted outfit with a few pieces of steel armor attached that stated she was glad she was in time. The brunette went ahead and assumed this was another Crimson Blade member, smiling slightly at the fact that she was indeed wearing red. Answering the blonde she stated, "From what Mack said, it looks like Lawfer is looking to complete some quest called 'Hoya'. I'm Piera by the way, nice to meet you." The alchemist held out a hand towards her, waiting for the girl to introduce herself. Not long after that did Shirosu slide in, panting about hoping she wasn't late. Chuckling lightly, Piera shook her head. "Just in time."

But when Lawfer said something about waiting until everyone was here, she guessed that there was still someone that hadn't arrived yet, not noticing the cloaked form of a teen nearby. However, when the party leader spoke to a 'Freddy', telling him to shut up because he was talking too much, the brunette looked around and finally noticed the other party member, wondering how long he had been standing there. Perhaps he was going for a more stealthy type of build and was in character. That or he was just really shy. Regardless, she figured if he was part of the Crimson Blades he couldn't be a bad kid.

Focusing back on Lawfer as he explained the quest, going into detail about the rewards, location and enemies, Piera nodded along before tilting her head in confusion at mention of 'S's and G's'. Then it finally clicked and she snorted quietly, continuing to listen. His deal for who got the pendant caused another eyebrow to raise before she grinned at his proposal to Mack. "Too low! It's worth five hugs from him at least!" The brunette goaded the situation, almost put out as Lawfer abandoned the idea in favor of whoever wanted it letting him know. She didn't really know what this amulet did in terms of buffs, but she was fairly happy with her Healing Heart and figured one of the blonde's actual guildmates could use it more. Piera was slightly surprised at how the performer was taking charge and wondered if Mack was letting him run the show to see how he did in a command situation. She had assumed that since the guild leader was coming along, he would be the one leading, but she had to admit she was curious to get to know Lawfer and not in just a casual setting. The alchemist hadn't fought alongside many people so this would be a learning experience for her as well.

As the blonde finished up his speech, Piera took the time to equip her newly acquired heavy armor, Violet Dragoon, along with her two handed weapon of choice, the Bleeding Lance, raising it up high as he declared their team name. "Yeah! Go Omegle Squad Soup Ka!" She chuckled as she butchered the team name. Lowering her lance and leaning its shaft against her shoulder, the brunette began walking through Delilah Village towards the field of dandelions.

“I’m always busy, Piera and I trust that Lawfer will make his purpose clear in good time,” Mack rumbled in response to Red’s question as the budding tank sidled up and joined the group. With four players already, the group was getting large for the quest that Lawfer was planning on going on. Within a few more seconds, Shirosu slid to a stop in among the rest of the party, bringing the number up to five. “Slow down Shirosu, there’s no food to eat here. Unless Lawfer promised you a treat that he’s denying to the rest of us,” the red-bearded mountain of a man said easily, arching an eyebrow in Lawfer’s direction.

“You can flirt all you like,” Mack said with an easy smirk, once Lawfer made his secondary purpose in calling everyone clear. “The problem is that you’ve also invited a man’s man’s man,” the mountain of a blacksmith said in a deep booming tone, slipping one arm around Piera’s shoulders and the other around Red’s. “Shirosu, saddle up,” the Grandmaster called, expecting that the slightly built knife wielder would likely hop aboard. “Never invite the biggest and baddest guy you know to your flirt fests, that’s Flirting One-Oh-One,” Mack continued genially, waggling a finger in Lawfer’s direction as the blonde man indicated it was time to head out.

“As for Freddy, I think he’ll surprise you Lawfer,” Mack continued, heading with the rest of the group in the direction of the Delilah Town’s main gate. “He’s got fire and drive, I like him. So, are we making this a straight shot or are we going to commence the great buffalo slaughter on our way to the forest?”

Red looked around as more people from her guild arrived to join in the quest. It seemed like everyone was here, though she knew that to be an exaggeration. The question was, How big was this quest now that so many people had arrived? Would she be ok in this fight? She ahd to assume Yes as her guild would never allow her to come to harm. She had fought and worked too hard with them to simply be left to die. Odds were they probably would rely on her to help them, just as much as she would rely on them.

Lawfer like always was in good form, with his intentions to flirt with the women of the group. And as expected Mack had stepped up to the challenge. This meant that the quest would be full of innuendo and gratuitous flirting. This was not a bad thing as it would add a light hearted nature to what might otherwise be a terrifying adventure. "Regardless of whats ahead I'm ready. So lets do this."

Shirosu smiled when she heard what they were doing, this was gonna be a fun little excursion,"Hello freddy!" she greeted the new, quite stotic recruit warmly with a genuine smile. When Mack mentioned food, she snorted offendedly,"Sure, i'm attracted to food, i won't deny it, but that's not all it takes to get me to leave my shop". "Who says i'm flirting with anyone!" she exclaimed planting her fists on her hips and glaring at Mack when he said to saddle up, fine if he wanted to play that way. She sprinted towards the man and with a graceful leap landed on his shoulder and seated herself there, kinda like a parrot. "I am not about to repeat the piggyback fiasco, but i will play along" she laughed out loud when Lawfer said there team name" Team Omega Squadron Supra Kai! huh?" She grinned  and said,"Guess we better head out"

Lawfer laughed at the overgrown man's man's man's comment. "Mack if I really thought you were a threat to my fun, I wouldn't have invited you. Besides a man's man is just a big kid who decided that we wouldn't grow up. Kinda like Peter Pan. So the question is, should I call you Mack, the Peter Pan man's man?" He said sarcastically with a laugh. As he looked to the rest of the group he smiled and laughed at the groups response to the squadrons name. "Piera you get two points for trying. But Shirosu get's 3 for the extra energy. Red.... you get a point for being so cute and tiny." Looking over at the new recruit Freddy, he was still silent. It didn't bother Lawfer too much, he had hoped that the new member would find his way into the group in a light hearted way but the silence was almost deafening.

"OK ladies, Freddy and Peter Pan. This way." He said as he lead the group out of the elven village and into the field of dandelions. The golden haired spear bearer watched as the grey pedals of the dandelions danced in the air. Turning to Mack he smirked, "We're gonna try to make this a straight shot. I want to put the safety of the new recruits first. There is no point in chancing everything when the rewards are the same." He said in a calculating fashion, the last thing he wanted to do was get anyone in his guild killed for some silly treasure. "If anyone sees any materials, feel free to snag them." He said with a smile as the group had made their way past the field of dandelions and to the entry way of the forest of Wandering Mist's Maze.

Piera smiled as Mack teased Shirosu as she joined their merry band. Glancing at the quiet brown haired boy as the other girl greeted him, she deduced that he must be a Crimson Blade or at least friend to the guild like herself. Looking back to the silver haired girl, the brunette teased, "Food isn't the only thing that gets you out of your shop, but I'm sure it's the fastest."

Then the party leader and guild leader started going back and forth about flirting before the red head effectively claimed all of the female players, draping an arm around Red's and her shoulder before telling Shirosu to 'saddle' him. Before she could begin to question that wording, the other girl did just that, taking a running leap before managing to jump up and land atop the man's shoulders, causing the bespectacled young woman's eyebrows to raise high, thoroughly impressed. Perhaps she had a skill that made that easier for her, or she was simply naturally gifted. Piera was distracted at Lawfer's nickname for his leader and rolled her eyes. "I don't think he'd look good in tights Lawfer. Besides 'Mack Daddy Mack' is much more fitting." But she was slightly mollified as she received a pair of points for trying and she saluted with two upraised fingers in a 'victory' sign before smiling at the other two girls.

The walk was leisurely and the alchemist always enjoyed the dandelion fields of her home floor, breathing in deeply the fresh floral air as she glanced around, keeping her eyes sharp for materials. Attempting to make the journey slightly less awkward and learn a bit more about her companions, Piera cleared her throat and spoke up, glancing over at Red and then Freddy as she asked politely, "So are the two of you new Crimson Blade members? Or just friends?"

Mack barely even flinched when Shirosu took a running leap and perched herself upon one of his shoulders. That was much better. Now he had an arm around the shoulders of both Piera on one side and Red on the other and Shirosu was on his right shoulder as perching on the left would have meant alighting atop the razor sharp bladed head of Invictus. “I’m hardly a child,” Mack said lightly, making a sort of vague and dismissive gesture. “If you must, you may use my proper title. That would be King of Men,” the ginger man continued in a tone of royalty speaking to the peons as he momentarily snugged Red and Piera a bit closer to his side as they walked.

“I’m fine with the straight and quick shot to the tomb, but what’s the strategy for dealing with the Minotaurs,” Mack asked as they continued to trek through the fields of dandelions headed in the direction of the Forest of Wavering Mists. “Am I supposed to stand back and help if needed, or are you going to sink deeper into your flirtatious hole as the ladies watch me slaughter both of the beasts with a single strike?”
