[SP-F9] The Burning Symbol <<Feeding the Enemy>>

Ssendom had been walking amongst the towns and public congregation areas and began noticing a pattern, nearly everyone had a small companion they had with them. To share their time with and make memories, for the longest time he paid no attention to it and didn't particularly like the idea of a something pestering 24/7 for the food that was in his pocket. And it was another thing he had to worry for, had to make sure stayed safe and protected. And although he was a protectorate at heart, he figured it'd be too much of a hassle for him and the pet if he were to get one. But slowly watching people synergize with them in the midst of combat made perfect sense of why he absolutely needed one, not just any... no, he needed a unique pet that most people didn't know the whereabouts were.

Ssendom warped into Vulcan Village from the 10th floor, he enjoyed his combat against the Banshee. Ssendom hadn't come that close with death in a long time in life here on Sword Art Online, he found the entire fight fun in it's own right. He could still feel his adrenaline running throughout walking this far on his own two feet. Though he knows he shouldn't be that reckless without a proper plan in place in the stead that his standard blitz strategy didn't work, so he thought of a good contingency plan to make up for it and it all centered around that pet. He knew there was a very rare chance that a small phoenix could spawn near Phoenix town, but he didn't just want a small phoenix for a pet he wanted a unique looking one.

He began strolling to Phoenix town, making sure to stop by random spots throughout Vulcan before actually heading out. Hoping he would find something of use in his travels as he so often did before venturing out solo. He didn't do such actions when he was partied up with someone since he could formulate more plans working a duo party that someone by themselves simply couldn't perform. After a good half an hour or more since Ssendom wasn't really keeping up with the time at all to be quite frank. After he felt as though he had spent enough time searching for literally nothing of use he headed out the only gate of Vulcan straight towards Phoenix Town.

As he walked he thought about a lot of things, mostly the main floor boss plan as he had gotten a message from Zelrius that was sent to everyone in the Front Lines group. It was his first time going to the Front Lines, and although he knew his build was meant for absorbing some damage and dishing out massive strikes there was a lot more to this than that met the eye. He was going from someone with a minor job to a high priority job, not only did he need to output heavy damage and maintain stunning the boss. He was in charge of being the backup tank to the Legendary Tristan, whom used to be his superior as a Commandant is now a technical equal as Ssendom had been promoted to the 5th Commandant chair since Oikawa decided to take a step down and focus upon himself.

Many people had started to disappear and no longer maintain conversational status with Ssendom as he was now beginning to realize. Oikawa, the man he was beginning to consider his closest friend and ally while hunting monsters. The man who had joined him in finding the 11th floor boss had now taken a leave where he wouldn't contact him anymore, it honestly got to Ssendom a little bit. And ontop of that, he recently had to break off his relationship that was bringing happiness to Ssendom in this world. She not only stopped talking to him, but completely abandoned him while they were deep in the bowels of the 9th floor just before they battled against Cerberus. Ssendom couldn't figure out whether it was him doing something he shouldn't have, or she got cold feet scared then ran from her responsibilities.

Ssendom had been walking for a while without realizing it, he was about to enter Phoenix town and he had been so deep in thought and aloof to his surroundings that he was quite a bit shocked. He was normally so observant and insistent on having one hundred percent control of his awareness to be ready to make a move or do an action within 10 feet of him in a 360 degree field of view. He could have been stabbed by a Player Killer with paralysis and he wouldn't have even been ready to look up from the ground. But he had such good rapport with the Player Killers, becoming the only Brigadier that Zelrius went after when he recreated the Azure Brigade. And they knew he had challenged Mari in reaching the 11th floor boss and forced her to step up her hunting game.

As Ssendom reached his restaurant he knew exactly what he would require to make this pet hunting session have even greater results. He knew he was going to need more materials to cook his foods so it would work two fold, the material he had used to create what would then help him in finding even more materials. His Chocolate Bars were a hot commodity and no one really knew of his Normalcy Steaks, he made sure to stay very low key on them knowing that he would never manage to keep them in stock with their ability to cure Love potions, or a song that forced people to fall in love, or a fish that could cause people to lose their hair. He wanted to have a large supply of them before he began selling them to the public.

He rummaged through his place, tidying up from all the collected dust since he hated having a messy place. He wanted his stuff, work, and home to look absolutely impeccable when meeting up with people. It's not that he had to but felt completely compelled to clean before he started searching. And his mind was still wandering quite a bit, he couldn't seem to stop thinking about the missing people. He was slightly even missing that guy Anthem whom he defeated the Sand Shark with, that man hasn't ever messaged Ssendom since that day. He vaguely talked to Jomei and Lowenthal as they got busy with their own guild, and he felt bad for stepping out on Tristan he had received the message from Meokka and rushed to go save her.

After he finished polishing the tables and the kitchen which was his last things on the agenda of cleaning, he put his cleaning supplies away and began to count all the materials he had gathered from brushing around flower beds and slaying monsters. He really could have used the two materials he handed to Persephone, but gaining friendship with others was a bigger and better idea at the time and after it's all said and done... He still has a dinner date with her, he was unsure of what they were going to eat together or where or what might become of the next situation after that. He was so freshly out of the relationship with Meokka, and although it wasn't a long one the passion there was made it seem that the short time together felt like eons.

Ssendom didn't know what to do with himself at this point, his mind was wandering harder than when he was walking around aimlessly through the wilderness before he decided to start talking to people. Back when he was an isolationist not working on his fundamentals, ever since he started his skill with the Two-Handed Sword has become incredibly good, he was able to perform bouts of strength that he couldn't ever possibly conceive in the real world yet he liked the changes he had made in his fighting style. Ssendom stopped and took a deep long breath as he grabbed a Chocolate bar from his case before he put himself through a flurry of thoughts and lost what his goal was inside this building to begin with.

Ssendom unwrapped the Chocolate bar and began to munch on it while sitting at a table in the dining area. After the first bite he took a very long deep breath before doing anything other thinking. He exhaled and stared at the ceiling, "Man, I psyched myself out there hard. I need to focus on succeeding in the Front Lines, I don't have the time to dilly dally on sentiments and other pointless things. I need to focus on making myself one hundred percent ready to take the call of action." He told himself. His thought about gearing up for the Front Lines was starting to get him hyped about getting ready with obtaining the pet. He jumped up out of the chair and took a massive bite of the Chocolate Bar, "Alright, lets do this!" He shouted then started heading out the front door while finishing his Chocolate Bar.

Ssendom exited the building all the while locking it behind himself, he turned and strolled throughout the town. Phoenix Town was a rather large town with Player Killers sitting in spots few and far between. Since it wasn't registered as an actual town and was in the wilderness, monsters happened to spawn there although they weren't overly strong monsters since the town wasn't located all that far away from Vulcan Village. Most were critters that existed only due to the Non-Respawning Boss having been there. There were a few Red colored birds and even some armadillos, critters that were located in zones solely to live in the heat. While he was out looking for that special phoenix whelp, he decided he'd also keep his eyes out for some materials. He had this thought while he was looking a small patch of flowers growing out of the ground underneath a large red-leaved tree.

He scooped up a flower while he strolled through town in a casual manner. Every now and again a Player Killer would wave their hand to him, and he would in turn do the same to keep the camaraderie with the people of the town. It was a good idea in the long run to be friend the Player Killer's for those that traveled through Phoenix Town without the familiarity would get the daggers in their eyes, which would immediately dissipate as the people entered Ssendom's Restaurant. He kept looking around at the different groups of plants that resided on strange pathway which was filled with twists and turns just so he could see every bush and tree, it would keep him from having any chance at missing the phoenix whelp he was searching for. As he past each grouping of flowers he glided his hands through them in hopes to pick up a material.

Ssendom happened to grab no materials his second time gliding his hands through the flower bed. He slowed down to a Player Killer running a general shop, "Hey there Rathord, how has sales been?" Ssendom opened up with a chipper tone. Ssendom started browsing the wares as Rathord yelled for his customer to wait just a moment and that he was on his way to the front. Ssendom searched for a bit until he found the pet feeding food he needed in order to accomplish his quest.

After a few moments the squeeky small guy came out of the back and into a tall chair, he still sat shorter than Ssendom did while he was leaning over looking at the wares in the case. "Yeh Yeah you know it Dom. Makin' dat bank yeh know right?" The shady rat sized boy was overly gloating and Ssendom could tell it was simply bogus as the store had all the same things sitting in their respective spot with dust sitting upon them.

Ssendom looked at Rathord, "I need Familiar Feeding food before the Floor 11 Boss Raid. Can you help me out?" He asked his Player Killer General Store owner. Rathord took the food and placed 5 attempts worth on the table asking for 500 col. Ssendom placed the col on the counter, grabbed his feeding food then walked out without saying goodbye which everyone found customary of him.

As Ssendom left the shop he reached down and grabbed a flower that was growing out of the corner of the doorway that was missing a door. There were always flowers growing out of said little spot and they always seemed to come with a Material to be gathered. Now armed with the food capable of getting a small critters attention, and with some materials on the day to recoup what he just lost eating his own Chocolate Bar. He was ready to really put forth his focus on searching for this special beast, he had his attention focused on materials while walking to get the food.

His hands happened to rub against a bush and catch his hand upon a material just resting inside of the bush. He used his full upper body strength to rip the material out of the bush and place it within his inventory. He turned back to where he was walking and continued to keep his eyes open for any critters that were around. The area seemed odd without any critters resting or walking or doing something near the road. They seemed to start roaming closer to the outskirts of town rather than randomly walking into people's buildings and having to be shoo'd out of them.

Ssendom kept up the idea of mindlessly letting his hands go through the flower beds, into bushes, and running them across tree's in hopes he would come across a ton of materials just waiting for him in the neighborhood of his shop. But in reality it was more dangerous in Phoenix Town than it was roaming about the world in monster spawning area's. With the Monster's their motions are pre-developed and have a body movement or action to look for to anticipate what will come next, and no matter what you would know when they're coming as the creatures make roars and yells when they are aggro'd.

In Phoenix Town, at any moment you can cease to live. The players that resided in Phoenix Town wouldn't hesitate a moment to strike down someone who merely glanced in their direction and didn't like the way it went. With Player's it was impossible to accurately anticipate and predict what they are going to do. It is a daunting thought of strolling through Phoenix Town alone without an ally with you for most people. Ssendom had become accustomed to the way the people acted and knew who to steer clear of due to poor anger management. Nonetheless he kept his awareness to the level of his comfort, his head and eyes always moving memorizing everything around him constantly.

He managed to step on a flowerbed while walking around, he noticed that one of the many flowers actually bent due to the weight of his armor and him combined. He bent over and yanked it out of the ground rather quickly regaining his posture and back into tempo of movement. He noticed a phoenix whelp flapping their wings around the north side of town, but it was a normal phoenix whelp. He remembered once seeing a blue fire phoenix whelp once so he was determined to simply search for a different phoenix instead of wasting his time on one that he honestly wasn't interested, it didn't matter how rare it was to find phoenix whelp he wanted an even rarer one and he had the time to kill to get it.

Ssendom saw a grouping of acorns sitting upon the ground, he thought he could use those to garnish an dish or use them in some sort of meal of sorts or even a snack. He walked up to the cluster of acorns, then knelt down and immediately began picking them up one by one into a pouch he brought out of his inventory. He spent about two or three minutes picking up all the open and easy to obtain acorns, after the bag was full he placed the bag in his inventory causing it to disappear into white data particles. Then got back up to continue searching for the rare phoenix that he made his decision to find.
