[SP-F9] The Burning Symbol <<Feeding the Enemy>>

Recommended Posts

The next tree Ssendom happened to come across seemed to be leaking an awful lot of sap that was just ripe for the taking. He pulled out another bag and broke off a small piece of bark to scoop the sap into the bag for use. The sap was something he was looking for quite awhile he had many idea's for sauces and glazes that were perfect for some of his meals he had planned. Grinning from ear to ear over the fact he was obtaining a bunch of materials, he was to the point he would have given up on any normal pet. But he needed the pet more than he absolutely needed the materials to craft food though he did need both, one was more imperative than the other. He was happy he was getting lucky with it.

As Ssendom was about to back away from the tree, it seemed to begin gushing even more sap than before when he obtained his first batch. Quickly he busted out another bag and picked the bark he used scrape for the previous bag from the ground and began scooping the sap into the bag just as he had before. After having two really filled bags of tree sap from the tree's that only grow within Phoenix town. After he felt comfortable with the amount of sap he had obtained he continued on looking around for the Phoenix he wanted.

He was beginning to get into an area of Phoenix Town that Ssendom tended to stray away from, the people who happened to sit around the west side of the town happened to have mental issues and enjoyed the thrill of killing people. These were the kind of people Ssendom didn't respect in the slightest, since these people weren't killing in a situation when they didn't have a choice or for respectable and honorable means. These people simply enjoyed killing people for the sole sake of killing people and nothing more than that, but Ssendom managed to grab a flower good for material use just hanging from a roof.

Ssendom didn't change his pace or tempo throughout the bad part of Phoenix Town, he didn't feel like getting into a fight for no reason due to someone deciding that they just wanted to try and kill him. He saw another material simply dangling off the roof right in his reach, he merely plucked it on his stroll and kept on rolling. Ssendom's eyes kept peering around noticing some orange players with their eyes on him. Since he didn't visit this part of town ever he wasn't in good standings with this group of low-lifes, but he knew as long as he didn't change the way he acts during his walk that he would be fine. He needed to walk with the authority that he so often did stroll with.

As Ssendom was beginning to reach the edge of the bad part of Phoenix Town he began to relax a bit. It seemed as though Materials was just falling into his hand, this time in a more literal sense as a rock happened to fall off the roof and land in his armored hand. This caused Ssendom to chuckle, almost even bust out laughing due to the irony of his luck on the hunt for a Pet. When he was after materials it was a completely dry field with nothing to offer, and now while he was after a pet all he can happen to find was materials. Not that he was complaining.

It was incredible the amount of materials that just sat inside the town he worked in, everywhere he was turning to had a material to be gained. There were flowers and rocks everywhere in this town and it seemed most of the Player Killers don't even fret about crafting in the slightest. Ssendom walked over and scooped up a single flower that stood taller than the rest. As he inserted it into his inventory, he looked back up to see exactly what he was after. A rare purple fire phoenix whelp gliding about just above the ground. Ssendom eyes narrowed on it as he focused on the bird, he didn't want to rush it knowing it could spook it and cause it to run away. He slowed his pace down to match the phoenix whelps speed so he could slowly make strides to get closer to possibly offer it a piece of food.

While carefully walking through making sure not to make too much noise with his armor, he passed up many potential materials that were very easy for the taking but Ssendom focused on his target. He wasn't letting the critter get away without him noticing which way it would manage to go. He was determined to get this one his first try to the point he was going against everything he was for. Known already for being a rusher into combat, and being completely reckless at times, he was having to be his mental self that came before battle. He was preparing for the encounter before it actually occurred.

Slow and Steady he took it mirroring the small phoenix as he slowly creeped closer and closer. He was oblivious to the materials around him, he would still keep his eyes peering around in case anyone was starting to walk towards him or the whelp. He didn't need distractions here he needed to focus on the little critter, but still he knew anything could change from good to bad in the middle of Phoenix Town. Held up by no rules made it all the more difficult to make sure a smooth and easy quest continues to go smooth. Yet up to this point everything had gone smooth and there had been no incidents between him and the others in the town.

Ssendom wasn't even trying to get materials at this point, one just so happened to get caught through the metal slits of his boot. It rested there awhile till Ssendom ended up noticing it, he didn't know how long it might of been there and at the same time it humored him. He had cleared about half the distance that he had started with between him and the phoenix, and he needed a little more before he got in it's field of notice. He kept the same mental state though, keep it slow and keep it steady we were after a friend not an enemy.

He had finally crept close enough that he might be able to offer it some food, after he felt as though he was close enough he matched his pace exactly to the speed of the small purple guy and waited for it to notice him. It seemed like it wanted to go it's own course and didn't care about the area around it until it managed to stop and stand on the ground. It pecked at the ground for a second before turning around and noticing Ssendom, it didn't dash away at first it decided to watch and study the man near it who was being ginger with his movements.

The bird seemed interested in the food that Ssendom had to offer, it walked up peacefully and began eating it. During which Ssendom opened his menu to inspect the birds stats and if it managed to have what he wanted. But alas it did not, the creature was a normal pet and didn't have any to provide Ssendom. It was almost the perfect pet. But with his options to tame it or let it be free, he selected the second option which caused the bird to fly away from him. He sighed and then his ears perked up as he head feet moving towards him.

Ssendom turned around to see two men with orange cursors over their heads, also known as red players or Player Killers. Both of them had their weapons drawn to and a wickedly evil grin on their face which seemed to make evident that they wanted to fight him. Ssendom sighed again and crossed his arms looking at them, "You two don't want to do this, it won't end nicely for you." He said with a stern, confident, and intimidating tone. They just laughed and readied their weapons to fight, causing Ssendom to withdraw his mighty Dusk Reaver from it's scabbard and ready it for combat.

The first of the two charged at Ssendom with blade ready to strike, the look in his eyes screamed as though he was demented. The man had changed in this world from a standing citizen in the real world into a murderer with no more care in the world. His attack was lazily put together and easily predictable, Ssendom blocked the blade effortlessly. The momentum of the murderer stopped him just past Ssendom, and as he turned around he met a blade gush right into his gut with the words Back Rush being silently spoken and his blade glowing a bright black.

The Pker coughed out red data particles as they also spill from his stomach, he was baffled how someone so heavily armored was so quick and dexterous. Along side his the armored Dreadnought's speed, was the power that came with the blade that jammed into the PKer's stomach. Before the man could even attempt to try and get the blade out of his stomach, Ssendom emotionlessly shoved the blade through the man more until the hilt was touching the skin. The man attempted to scream but exploded into millions of data particles and turned his head to look at the other PKer who was stunned with fear, "You have two choices. You can Fight and Die, or Run and Live. Make your decision before I make it for you." Ssendom stated in a very powerful and Intimidating Tone.

The second PKer was shaking in fear, he thought that noone would try and kill another when they still possess a green cursor. He thought he had all the intimidating power between the Orange and Green players because he was willing to kill. But here stood a man whose symbol was a green as the grass in the prairies and plains but he had the cold emotionless eyes of a killer inside. Ssendom began to walk toward the second Player Killer who then stepped forward into a swing clipping Ssendom's armor. Ssendom let the man land the hit and continue his moment behind him where he did the same thing before to the other PKer but this time he jammed the blade before the man could turn around.

The PKer coughed out the data particles just as his teammate had done when he fell to the blade of Ssendom. All the Pker could do was watch the blade slowly come out more and more through his stomach, feeling the blade slide through him in agonizing pain. With a final attempt left in him he flipped his dagger backwards and tried to jam it into Ssendom's head. But his Arm was caught and used as an extra moment boost to jam the blade completely through the man. He flung his blades both ways to severe the body in 2 and explode into fragments, "Too easy." Ssendom said in a disappointing tone.

Ssendom flipped his blade in a circular pattern, ending with it sliding into it's scabbard and setting back in place on his back. He sighed as he slightly enjoyed the battle but knew he had to find another rare little phoenix whelp. He returned to walking around keeping his eyes peeled around him. He noticed that many, many people saw the fight he had just partook in. As Ssendom looked at each and every eye they immediately turned their head and looked away in fear of angering the man. It seemed as though Ssendom's credibility was building more and more even in the town where player killers thrived.

His eyes trailed from the ground to looking at all the different people and their gazing eyes. He noticed the eyes more than he thought about the materials that he just simply passed up while he was walking. He replenished a huge amount of materials he had used and given away already and it had only been a good hour or two of looking. Now he just needed that pet to finish the bill, but now it was a matter of finding a new unique looking phoenix whelp as he was pretty hung up on the idea of flames that heal you as you're ignited... He thought that sounded like a really chill idea.

Ssendom shifted his focus back to the task at hand, instead of focusing on what he wanted the pet to do he should probably find one first and hope for the best. As he got back to the grind he had done before, he noticed that the area was barren of critters then Ssendom facepalmed himself, "Critters flee area's where fighting begins to occur." After he realized this fact again, he started picking up his pace working his way away from the battle location he had with the pointless and weak Player Killers. He needed to pick up the pace as daylight was beginning to wane.

After a moment of walking he began to notice that he wasn't focusing on the materials or where exactly he was walking. He was beginning to realize that he had taken two lives of people who lived in the actual world. Even though his cursor didn't change from Green to Orange since the ones he had killed were already Player Killers still didn't make him feel any better about what he did. He had never tried to or had even thought about taking the life of another, he merely treated the poor simpletons as standard creatures and didn't even give them a chance to try and plead for their life. Ssendom was slowly starting to regret his fight with the two PKer's, but he still tried to keep his straight face.
