[PP-F6] What Better Way to Test a Weapon? (Kalesh&Xion)

Recommended Posts

Kalesh was tapping his scimitar against his shoulder while waiting for Xion to come to the 6th floor which was full of female NPC and the humid heat of the jungle. He was doing stretches to get himself ready for his first attempt at a duel. He had always been the pve type of player, so when asked by Xion if he could have a duel, Kalesh was naturally curious to try it out for himself to see how fun it might be to fight a player rather than an AI for a change. He looked his scimitar over, momentarily considering if he should be standing a certain way and other strategic things. He sighed dramatically to nobody in particular and just sat himself down at the edge of the large empty clearing in the capital where he stood. "Relax, just do it like you always do. If you suck, you aren't trying to impress anyone." He mumbled to himself as he looked around for a minute before resting his head against a nearby tree to get a nice afternoon rest. He started going through the different options for dueling, just to make sure he had his options in mind. He could go for half HP duel, or the first person to land a clean blow. The option that shall go unmentioned was not an option. He doubted he could pawn off Xion's stuff easily, he jokes to himself despite the more obvious worry of killing someone.

Xion's face was a scowl of determination as he appeared from the teleport gate. He had challenged Kalesh to a duel, as he now had a new weapon, the spear that he held in his right hand, diagonally  as he started to walk. "This will be like my duel against Mack...DPS vs Tank..." he said as he caught sight of Kalesh, whom was waiting impatiently. "Kalesh..." he said as he approached the man. "The time has come..." he continued, sending a duel request to Kalesh. "Shall our battle be an honourable one" he said, his face cracking into a smile as he did.

Kalesh looked at the duel invitation as he stood up, the menu following him as he stepped closer towards Xion. "Indeed it has. May your armor protect you and your strikes be true." He teased as he hit the accept button once it was confirmed that he hadn't been challenged to a death duel. He watched as the timer started to tick down for when the duel would begin, Kalesh readying his scimitar and taking a deep breath as he watched Xion's actions carefully. He was wearing his uncommon armor and rare accessory to give him whatever stats he could. He wasn't optimally geared in the slightest, only his weapon being a perfect. Still, he would make no excuse if he lost!

Xion chuckled as Kalesh teased him a little "And may your strikes be true, so that they may break my guard" he said with a smile as he waited for the duel time to countdown to zeor, gripping his spear and holding his shield in front of him, just in case Kalesh decided to surprise attack him: he was a DPS build after all.

Kalesh took a deep breath and the moment he saw the timer hit zero he charged out towards his opponent. He doubted he had the greatest change of breaking through his guard easily, but he was eager to try none-the-less! Skidding to a stop in front of Xion he starts to charge the first sword art of the fight! It wasn't a big blow, or even one meant to do any massive damage. He knew that if he broke himself against Xion's guard too early, he would just be exhausted and ready to be finished off. No, he would bide his time, waiting for a chance to break through the guard of his opponent.

(Thorns do 2 DMG each now, not 1)

Xion stood his ground as Kalesh charged a sword art, his blade bouncing near harmlessly off of Xion's shield, the swordsman himself being punished by Xion's thorns. In retaliation, Xion lashed out with his spear, keeping the shield raised as he engaged in the age old past-time of pokey-pokey, one which many pole-arm users partake in. Unfortunately he missed, as Kalesh's evasion stat saved him from the blow. "I hope that isn't all of the power that you can muster?"

((In that case you should update your sig to show you have 4 thorns instead of 2 :P))

The thorns! He hadn't expected for Xion to have them in that amount. He tsked and backed off to try and gain some distance from Xion while dodging the reach of his spear. He gained nothing from battering himself against a spiked steel wall. He'd be damaging himself more than he would be defending himself if he just hammered against Xion's shield with futility. "No, but this weapon is meant for multiple opponents! Better keep your guard up!" He says as he refuses to take the opening to attack. The trade-off would not be in his favor by any stretch of the word. He did silently curse the weakness of scimitars and their lack of stunning ability at the very least.

Xion grinned as Kalesh backed off, obviously deterred by the thorns on Xion's shield. "There;s a reason why I'm the second in command of the blades Kalesh, there's only one warrior in the guild that can break my defences with ease" he said with a grin before stepping forwards with surprising speed for a tank, his spear glowing as the system carried him like a puppet, the pole-arm piercing both of kalesh's legs completely, stunning and immobilizing the player. "And now the slow and painful defeat that tanks are famous for..." he said.

Kalesh grinned as it seemed Xion was sure of himself, taking the blows to the leg with surprising ease for someone who didn't have any defensive skills aside from his actual evasion and the bare minimum in his armor! He felt himself stunned there, unable to move his legs by some ungodly rule of the system. "HA! Painful. Interesting turn of phrase!" He says as his legs finally healed shut, faking continued weakness while waiting for Xion's next attack to try and dodge. Whatever effect he had just imbued his spear with had made him feel too weak to get a decent attack in! It might take a while, true, but Xion still had to put out enough offense to drop Kalesh down to half health at the least!

Xion chuckled as Kalesh mocked his damage "But do you forget something...? I'm more than a little known for my paralocking" he said with a grin before he pulled back his spear, winding up a strike before thrusting forwards, the weapon piercing Kalesh's abdomen before electricity surged from it to the player, his body becoming limp once more. Xion grinned as he saw the paralysis icon appear above of Kalesh's HP bar, pulling his spear out of his body as the red head fell to the ground.

Kalesh groaned at the feeling of a spear stuck in him, grinning at Xion defiantly as he said "It tickles more than it stings!" He may not have had much body control at the moment, but he wasn't about to start panicking over just one little stunlock. "Just be happy you are nice and pampered with all those perfects!" He said while waiting for Xion's next move, waiting for the moment the paralysis wore off. His luck could be better, but it could also get a lot worse.

Xion  laughed as Kalesh mocked him "You do know that the only thing I didn't craft myself was the spear, the rest I made with sweat and hard work. But, if you think this is so unfair then I'll back off, give you some breathing room" he said with a smile as he backed off, holding his shield up in defence, ready for the inevitable counter-attack from Kalesh. To be truthful he didn't even need to attack to win, his thorns were strong enough to whittle Kalesh down to nothing.

((Sorry, you got a missing score, you have to count that as -2 energy still xD Otherwise the rule is kinda pointless, y'know? :P))

Kalesh grit his teeth as he slashed upward just as Xion started to move out of the way, the blade barely missing him! He grit his teeth and moved up onto his healed legs as the rest of his wound shut, backing away from Xion and slowly circling while holding his sword at the ready. "I didn't say anything about fair!" He grins as he took a breath to calm himself "You just have the advantage as far as gear goes. You only have three slots more than me."

Xion nodded as Kalesh spoke " that is true, but this can still be a good fight, with luck and determination you can still win..." He said with a grin before he charged at Kalesh, yelling "Snake strike!" As his weapon glowed green, the spear lashing out twice in rapid succession  at Kalesh's neck, dealing a nice amount of damage.

Kalesh groaned in frustration at the fact that not only was he being beaten on slowly but -very- surely. He couldn't even strike again, the two strikes at his throat silencing him and paralyzing his body again, making him fall to one knee as he angles his sword down to hit the ground first, propping him up as he glares at Xion while waiting for his vocal chords to recover. For one reason or another, he was really starting to think he wasn't going to be the lucky one in this fight. Not one little bit. He had just been paralyzed twice now, not even mentioning the previous stun!

Xion couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Kalesh glare at him helplessly, a bit of the evil british mastermind escaping as he did. "I forgot how fun this was, MOBs don't glare at you like that when you paralyse them. Oh the joy!" he said as  he laughed, before poking the spear dangerously close to Kalesh's neck again, before pulling it back. "Might as well take this seriously..." he muttered before raising his shield again.

He was starting to get a touch frustrated at himself. Up until now he had just been sitting and taking Xion's attacks, not that he had a lot of choice to start with. It had finally gotten on his nerves that he wasn't getting any decent hits in, so with a frustrated grunt he forces himself back onto his feet. "Okay, I can see I am outclassed here..." He admits as he clenches his hand around his sword tight. Not only the blade but his fist starting to glow. "Tell me if this hurts." He throws his blade into the air, high above the two of them as he charges to Xion and ignores his shield and armor, and instead socks the other player across the face with his fist! A moment later Kalesh reached high, catching the sword as it fell and slicing down across Xion's body. He was confident he had broken Xion's guard, however slightly, even as his own HP dropped from the thorns!

Xion laughed as he felt the sword art connect, his control over his own body as he fell to his knees, the only thing keeping him up was his shield as it was planted firmly in the ground. "I barely felt anything, man curved swords are weak" he said with a grin in Kalesh's direction as he tried to move, failing as the system kept him in place. "A valiant effort, but a futile one too, you took double the damage that I did just there, and all you did was buy yourself one attack of time. Use it well"

He grinned to Xion and said "You aren't wrong." He shrugged his shoulders and looked at his weapon "That's why I'm thinking of upgrading." He gave his weapon a flourish and said "No point playing the coward, I am going to lose but let's see how many hitpoints I can shave off on the way." He chuckled, doubting it would be more than a two or three at best, but he tried to remain optimistic.

He moved to the temporarily stunned Xion and sliced downward with his blade, hitting Xion's shoulder for little more than a scratch while the thorns did considerably more to him. "Tsk, thorns are OP! It's like an on-hit bleed effect!" He laughed softly to himself while grinning to Xion, wondering how this duel would have gone down if he gulped an immolation potion.
