He climbed down the mountain hands forward towards rock bottom, and his legs behind him aimed at the sky. He was going to climb down in quite possible the most dangerous way, and he was exited and stoked to do it. The whole goal wasn't actually to reach the very top of the tallest mountain, that was a bonus. His true goal was to climb down the mountain side going hands first and the bottom of his feet aimed to the clouds.
