Lee 0 Posted October 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Lee had found himself on the lower floors yet again though this time there was more of a reason that simply wandering around. He was searching for a quest that seemingly was undertaken by almost every player in SwordArt Online. With himself being one of the few exceptions. While he thought of asking someone else to come along with him, there just wasn't enough of a reason to drag someone along on this kind of errand. Piera was too busy with so many things that she would loose her head if more were to be added to it so he kept it to himself. The majority of people on his friends list were either too high of a level to want to go or simply didn't know him well enough so he didn't want to come on too strong.Though, in retrospect, that would have been quite the icebreaker and could even get some fighting out of it though he had already set out and didn't really wish to wait for someone to reply. His main goal was to find some sort of medicine from some sort of plant, flower thing. While it was the first floor, he was wondering just how many times he would have to hit something before it died. He did have the armor to keep himself alive, it was his offensive damage that would impede him the most. After finding the NPC and accepting the quest, he set out with his shield on his back and sword within it.
Lee 0 Posted October 6, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Lee had entered into a more wooded and tree infested area with his eyes scanning for movement. He was rightly sure what it was he was looking for aside that it was a monster that dropped the medicine that he sought. He pondered this and thought about going back to get clearer visual instructions but at that time, he heard something rustling which caused him to bring about his shield and place his hand on his sword's hilt and it was then that something shot from the trees. It looked like..like....a pokemon. He had heard they released pokemon A and B before he entered Sword Art but this looked like one of the really old ones. The creature slammed itself into the broad shield and Lee held his ground, the force forcing his arm to tighten as the recoil of the shield would jolt back, causing the creature to land on the ground paralyzed. Lee 0 Posted October 6, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Lee would recollect himself from the sudden attack and as he thought prior, the monsters posed little threat to him on this floor which in and out of itself wasn't a bad thing at all. With the monster stunned from the clash with his shield, it lay on the ground completely and utterly defenseless and if he thought it cute or pitiful, he might have thought twice but in the grand scheme of things, that was in no way, shape or form what he thought. It had attacked him down and outright with its strongest assault to which he figured he'd try to his own. With said thought in mind, he would draw his sword and with a quick and fluid motion, he would swing it around and bring it crashing down atop the plant-like creature, striking for a critical hit. Stunning it further and causing it to bleed in which case Lee would glance around as this monster was not fated to last long now so he needed to find more.ID: 34084BD: 10 (CRIT)MOB: 2 (MISS)Lee: 23/24Caliburn = Sword (BLED+2; PAR+1) Activated on a roll of 9-10 with one slot, or 8-10 with two slots. Lee 0 Posted October 6, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Lee would glance down at the monster as it would aim to move but with the bleeding and the fact that it was paralyzed gave it little actual chance of doing anything. It would simply deplete its health by simply being there. Little Nepent: 2-2= 0/5[DEAD]Lee would take a breath and look down at the creature as it would burst into particles and wait for more than a standard moment to see if he would get lucky and obtain the item or items he was looking for but soon, he would note that it was not meant to be. A heavy sigh would escape the man's lips as he would continue his venture further into the wooded evergreen in search of something else to attack him or maybe, he attack it if he was lucky. Lee 0 Posted October 6, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) Lee moved some brush from his path with the edge of his sword and held up his shield in order to keep the green lush from touching his head. He wasn't sure how long he would be able to go before being attacked so he figured that keeping his weapon in hand wouldn't hurt anything. He began to wonder just what kind of things would happen if he took that one quest that let him fight with his fists. It would be rather enjoyable to fight with a sword and someone disarming him only to get a well placed strike to the face. While he was thinking this, there was another rustle and he was ready this time as he would jump back as the monster would land where he once was, himself dodging the attack and with a well placed strike, he would lung his sword into the monster, bleeding as he withdrew his weapon in a rather jagged motion. Lee 0 Posted October 7, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted October 7, 2015 Lee looked to find that the monster that had launched an attack at him was similar, if not the same as the one just had just defeated prior. "Well, this seems like a reoccurring pattern of some sort. Wonder how long it will take to put you down?" He spoke with his a bit of arrogance as the creature lunged at Lee with its plant-like mouth opened wide as it aimed to engulf the man whole. This would surely not happen as the armored man rose his shield and it took the brute of the strike but do to this very fact, when he went to swing at the monster, his blade would completely cut air and he almost lost the grip on his sword, causing him to take a few steps back."That...would not have been good for me." He looked to the creature as it now laid on the ground, stunned from striking his shield and still bleeding. It was a repeat of what he had done just moments ago. It was simply a matter of time before the creature would meet its own end by time alone.ID: 34149BD: 1 (MISS)MOB: 10 (CRIT)Lee: 23-1= 22/24Caliburn = Sword (BLED+2; PAR+1) Activated on a roll of 9-10 with one slot, or 8-10 with two slots. Lee 0 Posted October 8, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted October 8, 2015 Lee watched as the plant began to struggle on the ground, unable to move but still trying to fight. It soon succumb to to the bleed damage and after a few moments, it would burst into green particles and be defeated. Little Nepent: 2-2= 0/5[DEAD]The armored man would take in a breath before looking around. Maybe he would have better luck looking for the item by hand and if he ran into a monster, so be it. He would keep his sword in hand as well as his shield as it held the greater advantage. It wasn't something he would actually ever put away, even more so than his sword. He had given up on ever being anything but a metaphorical tank. Though, this wasn't a bad thing, it was something that he had taken to heart and knew a lot of players wouldn't dare aim in such a direction. He knew that with enough effort and levels, he could become the strongest in terms of defense that this world has ever seen.
Lee 0 Posted October 8, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) ID: 34266 LD: 1Lee continued further into the forest, sword and shield in hand as he traversed through the trees. He didn't encounter any further creatures, nepents or otherwise and also no players. Which was a surprise given the low floor level, not that he was complaining. The armored male kept a lookout for any signs of medicine of which was the quest's purpose but found no trace of it. Still, he pressed on, parting bushes with his sword and clambering over tree roots. Or tripping over them. He had thought he spotted something and so quickened his pace, not entirely looking where he was going and ended up tripping spectacularly. The only thing that caught him was a tree. To the face. Groaning from the impact, Lee pushed himself off of the bark, shaking his head while muttering curses about deadly environments. Edited October 8, 2015 by Lee
Lee 0 Posted October 8, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted October 8, 2015 ID: 34272 LD: 10Lee took in a deep breath as he would pull himself to his feet with his shield as a sturdy stick. He stood tall, pulling his sword up and slide it into the sheath on is shield as he would then rub his face. He let his face take a moment to realize it was not severely injured before he placed that hand onto his hip as he would look around. He would move toward a bush and shuffle through it, looking for something, be it a material or the item that he had been searching for. Though, to his dismay, there wasn't anything there but bushes and false dreams for him to dash against the rocks.
Lee 0 Posted October 11, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted October 11, 2015 ID: 34592 LD: 17(MAT FOUND!)Lee continued to search for what he would deem to be either the monster that the quest demanded or an item that would make his trouble just a bit more worth. He dug deeper into the brush and was actually pleasantly surprised that he was able to find a material laying about at its base. He put it away with little resistance but it was then that he heard the familiar sounds of a rustle in the distance. He knew what it meant and knew that something would be coming for him soon. This was not an unwelcome thing as the search was going tit-for-tat at the moment so a small change of pace wouldn't hurt anything though, he would continue to search for some more materials instead of actively trying to end the life of the next more monster to come across his path. Lee 0 Posted October 11, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) ID: 34740 LD: 19(MAT FOUND!)Lee approached the rustling sound with sword raised, prepared for anything. But when he parted the brush, what was revealed was not a fearsome monster but a simple squirrel, at least it looked vaguely like one. It had been chewing on a material of sorts but froze upon the armored man's appearance before dropping the material and scampering off. Shrugging, the brown haired man stooped down and inspected the fallen material and decided it was definitely salvageable. Perhaps the creature would even lead him to more if he followed where it had ran off to. Or perhaps the mobs would notice him and attack. Either option was fine with him. Lee 0 Posted October 12, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted October 12, 2015 ID: 34769 LD: 16(MAT FOUND!)Lee followed the vague trail that the squirrel had given him, occasionally having to hack through bushes. Every now and then he'd catch sigh of a fluffy tail, but didn't quite catch up to the creature again. He did however come across another small cache left behind and crouched the pocket the additional material. With any luck, he'd get a nice collection to bring home, either to give to Piera or sell in his shop. Or both. It seemed that following the squirrel thing turned out to be a good idea. Though he had to wonder if he kept following it if it would lead to more mats or more mobs. Deliberating for but a moment, the scruffy player then decided to continue on the trail. After all, it wasn't like he couldn't handle anything on this floor. Still, he kept an eye and ear out for any of the nepents.
Lee 0 Posted October 12, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted October 12, 2015 ID: 34800 LD: 16(MAT FOUND!)Lee was actually fairly happy with the way things were working out on this particular quest and more enjoyable than a previous one. Not just for the fact that he was finding things that were not sticks or random crap either. It was that while he would have to worry about being by himself as he could kill things on this level and it made him feel rather good about himself. Now, the feeling of actually being able to fight something and have a chance of killing it worked wonders on the ego and it was then that he heard something shift around in the bush and he thought it to be his little squirrel friend and as he reached down and lifted over a small log to see the very same furry creature nibbling on yet another material and yet again, as soon as he made his presence known, it dropped the item and ran off yet again to which Lee would scoop up the material and continue after the creature. Lee 0 Posted October 14, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted October 14, 2015 Lee's pace was quick as he followed the furred creature's trail, sure that it would lead him to another cache of materials. When he heard a slight rustling in another bush up ahead, he assumed it was the squirrel thing again, thinking that it had lost him. With a slight smile on his face, he parted the bush only to blink with blank expression as he was met with a large plant creature rather than his squirrely friend. "Huh." The nepent made some sort of weird noise as it registered his presence and attempted to strike out at him with a large serrated leaf which he easily side stepped. Then drawing back his right arm, the scruffy arm thrust his sword forward to stab the bloated plant, scoring a critical hit and causing an odd fluid to start leaking from the wound that emitted a less than pleasant odor. He'd just have to avoid getting any on his person. Or worse, his armor. Lee 0 Posted October 26, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted October 26, 2015 Lee was actually a bit more concerned with the small critter that he was following rather than actually fighting the monster. This would seemingly be the downfall of most as that thought process would cause someone to die. But, Lee was actually feeling more than confident as he would only begin to worry of a literal horde were to appear in a group of at least fifteen in which case he would think he might bite off more than he could chew. Though, that wasn't the case as the monster before him was frozen on the ground and it was then that he thought to have seen the small squirrel like animal which would cause his falling down to come down to hit the ground aside from the plant monster, saving it from a killing blow.
