[PP:F9] <Guardians of Fire> Teayre & Ariel

Blue light flashed as Teayre entered Vulcan Village yet again this week. She had heard that there was a quest that gives a person burn damage when used and she wanted it. Opening up her friends menu Teayre looks through it and ponders who she hasn’t quested with for some time. Sending a quick pm to Ariel Teayre sits down on a bench nearby. Her katana resting gently on her lap. “I wonder how long it’s going to take to do the quest, I know it’s a fair way to the cavern but with any luck we’ll get there quickly and get the quest done and dusted.” As she raised her head Teayre spots a flash of blue light and sees a familiar blonde standing there. Waving her hand she jumps up smiling.

A summoning took place, this particular blonde was in front of a teleport gate at the 3rd floor, preparing to say '4th floor, Snowfrost village' when a familiar ring made her stop. It was from Teayre who asked her to come to the 9th floor. 'At the shop there was only Kimba..with no orders. Guess it will be nice to see her and what she want us to do. "Floor 9, Vulcan" she shouted, being next teleported to the center of the main settlement. She looks around for the familiar crimson headed girl. When spotting her, she heads towards her direction waving as she drew closer. "Hey T, seems like I was here just yesterday, what is your plan for us here?

“Ari!” Calling out to her even louder Teayre smiled as the blonde came over to her. Flicking her menu down the red head brought up the map and pointed to an area south of Vulcan that’d require a couple of days travel. “I’ve heard rumours there’s a cave down here with a certain dog that needs to be taught it’s place. I was wondering if you’d give me a hand with it, there’s also a potion as well as I think the quest itself is called Guardians of Fire.” Turning around Teayre began to head towards the single entrance to Vulcan Village. “What d’ya say Ariel, you in?”

"Cerberus,ka?" she asks... adding a bit of her Japanese accent at the end. Flashbacks of that place made her smile as she remembered doing it before."Sure I don't mind, I went through it a while back with some close friends. The big dog is cool, he's like the guardian of Hell in the Greek legends... thus the name. Its his small pupies that you gotta look out for... last time we had to defeat....15 if I remember correct, before reaching the 3 headed oversize chiwawa." she said, releasing a light giggle at the end of the boss's description. She started walking alongside Teayre as the were leaving Vulcan.

“Fifteen…” Teayre’s mouth dropped, “Holy, hopefully we will not have to face that many, eight or nine I could do. Anymore than that is just trouble really.” As they exited Vulcan Village Teayre turned south following the instructions from the quest on how to get to the cavern. After a couple of uneventful days the red head and the blonde both arrived at the entrance to the Inferno Cavern. Turning her head Teayre keeps a hand resting gently on the Oikawa Kanashiki’s hilt as she steps into the room. “You ready Ariel?” Several loud roars could be heard coming from deep within the cavern.

Seeing the girls reaction Ariel couldn't help but smile. "Well we were a pretty big group... 5 players I think, not the most stealthy ones either, Tyger's full plate armor would wake an entire cemetery! In any case is not the dogs we should watch out for the lava drops from above and other environmental hazards. That was more dangerous than the doggies!" said the blonde transitioning states as she gaze a short review of here previous encounter with Cerberus. Time flew by relatively fast as they were already at the entrance to the caves. "Hasn't changed at all!" remarked the blonde as she grabbed the sheath of her weapon with her left hand and the grip with her right, ready to draw it at the first sight of danger.

As Teayre looked down into the cave several howls could be heard, turning her head she nods at Ariel. “Guess we’re going in then.” The warmth of the cavern engulfing her as she steps forward her hand on her blade, gulping Teayre looks around before her foot presses on the floor her charge skill activating. A purple streak emits along the side of her as the girl ends up twenty feet into the entrance of the cavern, behind her a hound with dark red teeth and flames protruding from its spiked back bursts into crystals. Flicking her blade to the side Teayre sheathes it looking back towards Ariel just as a second one launches itself at the small target. Sidestepping it Teayre chuckles. “Care to do the honours?”

"Honors.... more like take care of the trash!" said the blonde as the mob exploded near Teayre, as a result of her almost instant charge once she spotted the 2nd mob. She'd used a low level skill since she went under the assumption that the quest extras didn't change stats that much. Her intuition proved accurate once again as she dealt a bit more dmg than the mob had. "Watch our for the dripping lava" she commented as they made their way inside the cave. Fortunately she had past experience with that and knew to keep an eye upstairs in order to evade random spills or drops.

Lava dripped down from the ceiling landing right in front of Teayre causing the red head to let out a small squeal before jumping back. “Watch out for the dripping lava.” Furrowing her brow the girl stares over at Ariel mumbling, “Thanks for the warning.” Stepping around the small stream of lava Teayre keeps the Oikawa Kanashiki in her hand before pushing on forwards with more roaring coming from within the caves. After a few more minutes the tunnel opens up and several more hell hounds are in the way. Without missing a step Teayre flies forwards again her charge skill activating as the Oikawa Kanashiki glows a deep blue. The weapon arcing upwards cutting through one head and then bringing it down again Teayre grins as she pushes the tips through the mob as it bursts into crystals.

With a light chuckle, like a smug child up no no good, the blonde replied: "Told you!" She follows the girl's moves as she dispatches yet another hound. 'This proves to be going more smoothly than last time....' she thought then voice the following part for no reason: "But then we were just low levels...is it been that long?" a low tinge of melancholy could be heard in her voice but that disipates as soon as she hears growls coming from deep inside. She unsheathes her blade and prepares for the attack. She charges towards the first one to appear as soon as she could distinguish its form in the lights from from the lava streams. Her weapon starts glowing pink again as she uses the same skill. She wasn't using that particular show for show but for its practicality as it proven to be low enough to finish the mama's puppies in one shot. She leaps back to let T take the next one saying in a rather calm tone:"Switch T!"

A large blob of lava fell down just as Teayre darted towards the next mob. Her blade moving at speed as it chopped and sliced at the hound not giving it chance to react. A large howl originated from further down the corridor causing the girl to perk her ear up. “Did you hear that Ari?” Flicking her katana down to one side as the beast dissipated in front of her the red head continued on down the passage not spotting any more hell hounds. Until she heard a slight whimpering from her left. “You’re up A.” Pressing forwards Teayre ignores the pup to her left as it leaps at her. The jaw missing her the beast skidding along the floor.

The blonde nodded to Teayre's initial question: "Hm, it seems that the hell hound is just a bit further. Let find it and get it over with." She next charged towards the small dogling which despite what Ariel though of it, it wasn't a cute fluffy little fella. It bared its fangs at her and she simply smiled at it, trying to beckon him like she'd do with a normal puppy. "I have a treat for you!" she said in a sweet voice and the over sized doggy, upon hearing her dashed towards the mob. In returned Ariel's eyes narrowed as she readied her weapon and with a thrust that gained a pink tinge, she simply skewered the poor beast that instantly became a mist of falling polygons that looked like snow. She showed a thumbs up to Teayre as they continued their way towards the bowels of the cave where they would finally reach Cerberus.

Nodding at Ariel as she gave her the thumbs up. “It’s a three headed cerburus right Ari? Although we’re strong we’d better not get ahead of ourselves. It might be worth taking a break after those whelps.” As they continued their walk through the twisting tunnel the heat started to increase the lava drops flew more freely. Sidestepping one of them she tuts. “Nearly got my shoe dirty there.” Looking down in disgust at where the droplet landed the girl noticed that light sparkled for a moment. Squatting she quickly grabs at where she saw the light producing a gleaming red crystal. “Let’s keep moving, these tunnels will probably take a little while for us to get through."

"Hmm, it is. Like in the Greek legends" She looked in front of them and nodded. "We still have a bit of a tunnel road ahead so I think our energy should overall recover until we meet it. " watching Teayre skillfully evade the drops, she does the same and with a light jump, she crosses the lava stream that came in her path. "If clothing in general will be our most immediate concern, I'll happily make you knew ones after we end this quest." she said with a smile. The weakling cleaning took considerately less time than when she was here the first time. But them again she came here with a group of 4 that were barely at the recommended level for the quest. She remember the ginger tank taking a lot of heat back then. This time she won't let that happen again, she was stronger and combined with Teayre's strength they would slay that 3 headed overgrown puppy in no time.

Teayre chuckled as Ariel said about the Greek legends, “Yeah I guess you’re right.” Keeping pace with the blonde Teayre didn’t fail at dodging the larger blobs that came their way. “You know these things are getting rather annoying… I almost wish they’d stop soon.” A guttural growl sounded from the bottom of the tunnel causing Teayre to jump. “Are you sure our energy will regenerate in time Ari? That sounded a bit too close for my liking.” The tunnel began to shake as lava spurted out from the floor sinking back into the cracks that it had formed. “We’re nearly there would be my guess.” Kneeling down Teayre snatches a rock that was floating past up. “You should be useful” she mutters before stashing the item.

"I...hope?" said the blonde with a bit of embarrassment in her voice while looking at their HP and Energy bars. Hers were almost full but Teayre's energy was less than half full. "Don't worry about it, we won't need full energy to get it to heel." They were starting to get closer and closer to the light, the lava kept interfering with their way making what should've lasted mere minutes seem like days of careful walking. the blonde took the time to look around the place but it was all black, poorly illuminated by that same lava. She notices a faint teal color emanating from a nearby wall that seemed unnatural to the overall place. She pulls out her weapon and stabs near the area, removing a small rock formation and seeing a phosphorescent crystal of sorts. "What do you know a material...maybe I can grind this and make nightwear." she muttered. Then she looks at T and asks.. "Almost? what do you fancy lava?"

The lava dripping from the ceiling caused Teayre to stops moving her body a lot more, a few bits splattered onto her searing her clothes but otherwise leaving her unharmed. “That survival skill is really handy. I wonder how Cal’s getting on.” The roaring was getting louder and louder now and as they rounded the next corner Teayre could see the three headed Cerberus howling in fury. “Guess we got here sooner than expected, how we going to do this Ari?” Her hand rested on the Muramasa as the girl poised herself ready for attack. The head from the lava that surrounded them surging past her causing beads of sweat to form. Ducking out of sight for a moment Teayre takes a deep breath as a she reaches down to a glinting of red and pulls a small crystal from the niche in the wall.

"Although a walk in the desert is not something I fancy... well except if we're going there for a dip in the hot springs like last time" she said to the crimson maiden. Memories of that night when she told her the big news, their little 'Girls night out!'. She wanted to repeat that experience and thought about consulting with T about it after they finish this quest. She too could hear the mad barks and howls that originated from the beast. She turned back at T when asked and replied with a giggle: "Let me get one of them and take care of the other two. To feel like I'm actually useful here." of course it was more of a joke towards Teayre's massive damage dealing AoE skill but true none the less. The blonde prepared her stance while concentrating on the first of the heads to the left. She then charged towards it with lightning speed and stabbed it right between the eyes. as it was attached to the rest of the body, the head simply went limp instead of going 'poof' in pixels. "Ugh... still a ugly doggy aren't ya?" she asked the field boss as she finally looked at it as a full after she did her job. "Go for it T?"

Nodding Teayre smiles at Ariel, “You’re right the desert wasn’t a good place, perhaps we could try and find some hot springs on floor four instead? Might be nicer with the snow.” A twisted smirk came onto her face as Ariel mentioned about the red heads ridiculous damage. “Oh come on Ari… It’s take a lot for me to get here, besides you beat me in point damage.” Sighing as the blonde shot forwards her blade cutting deep into the first head severing it, the second head reared up ready to strike Teayre was already moving however her <Charge> skill carrying her straight into the  path of the head. The Oikawa Kanashiki was glowing a bright purple as she moved with the sword art and span cutting deeply through both heads and watched as the boss vanished into pixels.

Turning she smiled at her companion as she sheathed her weapon. “That mutt really wasn’t much was it?” Turning around three hundred and sixty degrees Teayre checks all the nooks and crevices for any hidden mobs, facing Ariel again she extends her hand. “Ariel the Crowned Lion. You really are my closest friend besides Calrex, thank you.” A nervous laugh escaped the girl’s lips as she met the blonde’s eyes. “Ari, will you become my family?”

Her eyes trailed the crimson maiden as she single handedly finished the two remaining mobs... she remember the struggle she had the first time with the katana master and unbeatable tank Baldur & Tyger, the 'not so arrogant back then' Oikawa and the pastry artist Alyss. It took at least four hits to take down each head and now....she oneshot it alone while her best friend one shot both. Despite being relieved of it being this easy, she missed the old times a bit. But all that vanished as the Crimson beauty turn towards her and asked, while extending her hand: 

“Ari, will you become my family?” that one line threw her off a bit for a second as she looked at her extended hand. 'Seriously?' she thought, taking one step towards her and another... and embracing her in a tight hug. "Yes!" she said without hesitation, she didn't quite understood what she meant but it didn't really matter. This crimson haired girl had earned a place into her heart for quite a while now. Now she was just stating a fact and reaffirming it for T: "Don't be silly, you've been my nee-chan from a long time ago. Ever since we started hanging out after what happened in Azure. Her words were simple yet filled with emotions, so much that even her eyes were getting watery. Her thought went towards Kiru who once hold similar title 'nee-ojouchan' but seemed to despise it despite being a sincere entitling given to her by Ariel due to her tsundere attitude. Will Teayre react in a similar fashion?
