Elul repositioned herself, sliding her right foot back and her left forward, she put her left hand on the crack. Carefully aiming her shot, Elul swiftly removed her left hand before her fist collided where the left had been. The crack grew more than usual this time, but it was clear she still had a lot of time before she could remove her whiskers.

Elul rubbed her face, she was tired of punching a rock, the whole idea would've put Whit on a rampage on the rock. Elul shook her head, she needed to focus, sitting back would only hold her back.

Elul threw another punch, missing the crack in the boulder. Elul turned to face the npc, he hadn't spoken up in a while now and his usual grin was replaced with one that Elul might call curious. It was odd how Kayaba had managed to make npcs that could hold a conversation, of course it was only the quest ones, the ones found randomly throughout towns hardly spoke, and they always did the same things. Elul didn't get nervous around the npcs, for some reason she didn't stutter as often, almost like she did with Whit.

Elul punched the boulder again, the crack growing only a little bit because she had only hit it with one of her knuckles. Elul turned back to the old man, he was continuing to watch in a stare similar to Whit's "I'm staring you down to get a reaction out of you" stare, but if it was truly a similar stare, than it wouldn't get a good enough reaction. The most it would get was a shrug and a turn back towards the boulder.

Elul put her hand back over the boulder, once again removing it before smashing her curled up hand into the large rock. Elul looked up, the boulder had to be around seventy-five percent health. Elul quickly popped her knuckles, turning to <Master>. He was still performing his wide-eyed stare, making her wonder if he was broken. Elul returned her attention back to the boulder, quickly repositioning her feet.

Hey Elul, why don't we just blow it up, surely there's some kind of bomb around here!

Elul waved off the annoying Whit replica in her head, if she did somehow manage to blow it up, then the quest would probably be counted as a failure.

Elul punched again, completely missing the crack. Elul sighed, waiting for her energy to charge up was making this take up more time than it needed to. Of course, if she would aim better, then it would probably go by quicker. Elul turned back to the npc, he was still staring, it had gotten to the point where she was starting to get creeped out, "could you please stop staring at me like that?"

"Think of it as an incentive to break the boulder faster."

Just what she needed, more incentive.

Elul threw another punch, once again missing her mark. Elul sighed, she seemed to be sighing a lot lately. She ran her hand through her hair, she had been much taller before Kayaba had changed her to her real height. The whole idea of Kayaba changing their body yet keeping them trapped here didn't make sense, and yet she had a friend who respected Kayaba. Elul frowned at the idea, was Kayaba watching them like a god or had he just left them to battle his game, not caring? Either way, she'd have a few words to say to him if she made it out alive, stuttering or not.

Elul punched the Boulder square in its crack, extending it further. Elul wiped non-existent sweat out of her brow out of habit, she looked up at the health bar, it had hardly moved. Elul looked back at the old man, he had stopped his stare and closed his eyes, the sound of snoring coming from him. Elul rubbed her eyes, she was sleepy too, but it was still day time, and she'd prefer to get this done today. Elul turned back to the boulder ready to punch it again.

Seriously Elul, dynamite, big sticks, shove it in the crack, light it, then run for the trees.

Elul positioned her feet again and launched off another punch, just barely hitting the crack with her pinkie knuckle. Elul brought her hand back, looking up at the health bar to see it had hardly moved, much to her dismay. The snoring form <Master> caused her to look back at him, she was pretty sure he was faking it just to annoy her, and that npcs couldn't sleep anyway.

Well they were pretty intelligent.

Okay better plan, build the death star, and fire a laser at it, that should instakill it.

Imaginary Whit made her think, would destroying it in a odd way still give her the quest reward?

Elul positioned her legs once again, punching the rock once more. Her first two knuckles striking firmly on the giant rock's crack, starting to realize that this was more of a test of patience than a way to teach her actual fighting. If she was in the real world, then she'd also consider it a way to strengthen herself against pain when punching, but all she felt here was a slight numbing in her knuckles.

Okay, how 'bout...

What other kind of stuff did Whit usually say?

Nuke it, just... Nuke it. I don't even care anymore, screw it, I'm out.

Elul jumped a little at the sound of a door slam, her daydreaming was getting too wild.

Okay, look I'm back, I'm really sorry about that, I just... this rock is so stupid, why can't why just take a pickaxe to it?

It's fine, Elul accepted as she mindlessly missed the crack, more focused on this weird fake Whit that had manifested out of nowhere, If I blew it up, then it probably would be the same as cheating.

Look Elul, I'm really sorry for being weird, and forcing you to take it, I just- I don't really understand how to be... normal. You're the nicest person I've honestly ever met, I don't know how I would've been able to make it by in society without you.

Elul smiled a little bit, Whit had never been so open with his feelings, it was almost-

HEY, WHO THE HECK ARE YOU?

Oh god, he's back, its my evil twin.

Elul's eyes widened as she heard the sounds of blows being exchanged.

How dare you bloody take my place, do you know who I am, I'M FREAKING WHIT!

Agh- no, I'm sorry Elul, I can't hold him-

The sound of a tussle happening, and then a rope being tightened. A door opened and then the sound of something tumbling down stairs.

And never come back, phew, can you believe that guy, being all ugh, open and stuff. What a weirdo.

Elul threw another punch, keeping her arm on target-

Elul!

Elul became shocked at the screaming voice in her head, her fist only barely hitting the crack.

Oh come on, you again? No, I've had enough, I challenge you to a duel.

Fine, I won't let you treat Elul with such disrespect anymore.

The two Whits emerged from behind the boulder, both being as tall as the grass, the flowers acting as trees to them. "Are you kidding me, do you know how hard I work to protect Elul, I didn't become strong enough to protect her by caring about other people's feelings." "Please, a low level like you could never protect her, the least you could do is thank her for trying to keep you out of trouble."

The original Whit gritted his teeth, sending a duel request to the other Whit. The new Whit looked down at the duel request, it was to the death.

Elul was too distracted by the tiny Whits preparing to fight to the death, each gritting their teeth with their sword drawn, ready to impale the other as the countdown counted to one of their lives end.

15

The old Whit put his sword out at an angle, positioning his feet for a full out sprint.

5

The new Whit put his sword out in front of him, ready to block any blow coming at him.

00

The old Whit rushed the new one, slicing at his blade in a jumping spin attack. The new Whit held strong, being pushed back with every blow to his sword. He quickly parried and sliced through the old Whit's stomach.

Elul gave a half-hearted punch at the boulder, her attention focused on the battle going on behind her.

The old Whit flew through the air, landing on a flower which tilted back and then launched him into the air back towards the new Whit. The old Whit dived towards his counterpart and struck him in the chest, only to get picked up by the back of his shirt.

Elul wrapped her hand around the old Whit, Why are you fighting each other?

"Because he's a low-life coward who'd rather leave you to die!"

The small Whit in her hand squeezed himself out of her hand, becoming a raging torrent of pain headed straight for the new Whit. The new Whit looked down as if it was true, accepting his fate. Elul swiped her hands to pick up both of the miniature Whits, shoving them in her pockets so as to avoid them fighting.

Elul turned back to the boulder, trying to put the imaginary Whits out of her head.

Elul punched the boulder again, distracted by the struggling figures in her pockets.

"Hey come on, let us out!" "Ya, he started it."Elul sighed, taking the two mini-Whits out of her pocket. "I'll only let you stay out as long as you promise not to fight."The two brunettes looked at each other and said, "Fine."Elul placed the two back on the ground, watching as they explored around in the grass before returning her attention on the boulder.

"Why do you keep talking to yourself?"

Elul's face lit up, she knew that <Master> was nothing more than an npc, but she found it embarrassing to have anyone listen in, computer or not.

Elul still couldn't keep her attention off the tiny players as they moved about, trying not to look down at invisible people as she punched the boulder again, only barely hitting her target. Elul sighed, they were just so... cute. A word that was forbidden to use to describe the real Whit without getting a strange look.

Elul bent down, looking at one of the Whits using a flower as a trampoline. The Whit was doing flips and spinning every leap, at the notice of Elul's attention he attempted a high jump in her direction. The Whit successfully grabbed onto her nose and climbed to the top of her head using her provided fingers as a ladder. The Whit took a good seat on her head and tied himself to her with one of her hairs.

"C'mon Elul, let's smash this rock!"

Elul stood up and prepared to punch the towering rock again.

The new Whit looked up, his rival was riding Elul like he was a leader of a battleship. He quickly ran over to Elul and began scaling her leg by gripping her pants as he climbed up.

Elul focused, forgetting the tiny Whits as she threw another punch, finally squaring it right in the center. Elul looked up, glad to see it had finally reached yellow. Hopefully the second half of its health would go by much faster, and with the tiny whit on her head to support her, this would surely go by quicker.

Elul threw another punch, barely hitting it again, causing a frown to form on her face. She found it odd how every punch seemed like random chance, as if someone was throwing a die to determine if she'd miss.

The new Whit lost his grip on Elul's pants as she threw another punch, causing him to land on a flower. "Wow, that could have been... close." An idea formed in his head, earlier in his fight against the other Whit, the other Whit had used a flower as a catapult to spring back into action. If he could just recreate that type of situation, then he could spring to the top of Elul.

The Whit looked around, so far he had planned the perfect way to reach Elul's shoulders. Use three of the flowers as trampolines then use a final flower as the catapult to victory. Whit took the first jump and-

Elul felt something thump her left shoulder as she prepared to attack again, she turned her head to see a struggling Whit trying to climb onto her shoulder, she quickly pushed him up so he could sit, "Thanks Elul."

"Alright Elul, let's finish this up so we can go home!"

Imaginary or not, it was nice to have two people cheering her on. Elul quickly repositioned her footing and struck the giant rock.

"Ya, take that you oversized pebble!"

Elul punched the rock again, unfortunately missing the crack again. Elul tilted her head forward, causing the imaginary Whit on her head roll slide forward.

Whit panicked, waving his arms in panic as he fell off Elul's head. Saved by the strand of hair wrapped around his waist as he dangled in front of Elul's nose. Elul quickly grabbed him and put him back on the safety of her head, glad he had been smart enough to tie the hair around him.

Elul sat down, making sure the imaginary Whit was okay before continuing.

"It may be best if you two get down, I don't want either of you to get hurt." A groan came from one of the smaller players, "Oh come on, that was a fluke and you know it!" "Yes and I don't want another fluke to happen." The Whit on her shoulder spoke up, "she's right, it's much to dangerous for us to be playing around this high." Elul managed let the two down safely before returning to the rock

Elul quickly threw a punch, outright missing it.
